Like the prodigal son, Kari ran away from home after she finished high school. Leaving with nothing but the clothes on her back, she tried to run far away from her overbearing, abusive mother and away from God. Not looking back, she began a dangerous downward spiral into drugs, alcohol, and sex abuse. Then she met Jacob James. Would he be the salvation that she was looking for? Would she ever be able to return home to seek forgiveness from her mother? This is a story of deep despair, imprisonment (both figuratively and literally), loss, and finally redemption and hope. In this final novel in the Women of God series, the stories of Jobella, Eliza, Zoe, and Billie are drawn to a close as they are brought full circle. All of them are mentioned later in this book along with other former characters in the other books who will play a role in Kari's new life.
I enjoyed it from beginning to end. It's a perfect read for Christian believers. Exciting and loving. No bad language at all. GREAT book to give someone that likes to read CHRISTIAN novels.
I highly recommend this book to everyone. I will definitely be going back and reading the other books in the series. Kari’s journey is very realistic, and it shows how no matter what God is working and drawing us back home. Very well done!!!
I gave this a 5 because the story and characters drew me right in. Once I started the book I couldn't put it down. I could relate to Kari in that I also had a strict upbringing although I had two loving and kind parents. This was a wonderful example of how God works in our lives to bring good things from bad. A good heart warming Christian story.
Resistant to her strict upbringing, Kari does not want to hear about God. When she catches the eye of a Christian boy at college though, they try to have their relationship separate from God. Many times God has been right there, but Kari resists the message until she finally hears it.
