5.0 out of 5 stars Gripping story This was a really enjoyable read. Great premise. Can't wait to read the rest of the instalments. By L Borski on February 5, 2016
If you had the chance to go back and relive the last 25 years of your life, retaining all the knowledge and memories you have now; what would you do?
Three very different people from different locations, die at the same moment in time and re-awaken at that moment, only it is 25 years earlier. Two men and one woman are reborn in their young and healthy bodies, but their minds retain the memories of their previous lifetime.
Will the abused wife choose a different path? Will the stockbroker choose a different wife? Will the serial killer continue on his spree of murder?
Follow the journey of three Re-Runners; Kate, Dylan and Christian through this series of rediscovery, changing fates and finding each other.
The ideas for several stories came about when my man and I were floating around on a boat in the Mediterranean for 16 months. Plenty of time for the creative juices to flow and undoubtedly the experience of a lifetime, but before any of those ideas became fully fledged books; we returned to Australia and the real world of JOBS.
Since then I've dabbled in writing several genres: Romance, Time Travel Suspense with a bloodthirsty serial killer thrown in for good measure.
By the way, if you'd like to check out Re-Runners, go to my webpage and you can have the first 2 books in the series for FREE!
Ok, who wouldn't get hooked on the idea of hindsight as a life story. Who wouldn't want to go back and live life over again, but with a lifetime of memories stored in your brain so you can make the right choices THIS time. You can make good decisions when you would've made poor ones. People would do anything, pay anything, to have even a chance at reliving their lives with the knowledge of what happened and when. Unfortunately the idea was GREAT, the execution not so much. It was ok as a book but didn't live up to its promise. I didn't hate it, but it was just ok. Besides I don't believe in reincarnation and this book didn't change my mind at all. And I have way to many just ok books as it is. Sorry,
I'm sorry to say, I will not be reading book two, because book one was so boring, I never say that about Sci fi, I love it all. This book is the first to get a poor rating from me. I would not say don't read it however, I'm sure Elli worked very hard on this book, she must have to remember all the characters and what they were doing, give it a try though, you just might like it.
An interesting and well presented premise. Multiple strands are often a problem, which ever strand you are reading you want to be in an other, but not here. The strands are well positioned and perfectly paced. Characters are so dimensioned we can almost predict their behavoir. All in all a great book except... it stops on the middle. There was no plot resolution it is just a prequel. Disappointing!!!
I love the whole idea and felt I wanted to carry on. This only part one and I felt upset that it was only the start. I think I would have preferred it to be a while novel rather that part one of a story. The characters came alive in my head and it kept me gript and wanting more.
I have just read the first two books in the series. They both were amazing. Imagine what you would do, if you were given a chance to re-live your life, and were able to keep memories of your old life. To be able to correct mistakes, help those in need or...stop a killer. Exciting story and extremely well written. Will look for the third book.
This was an interesting read. Three people die and wake 25 years earlier in their young bodies, but retain all their knowledge from the years - it's a second chance. I look forward to reading the remaining books in this series.
I enjoyed the beginning but I was disappointed with the ending because it left me hanging. I admit I was curious about the second book but just not that interested.
Great idea, just what would you do with a second chance at life... The ending was to soon I need and want more. I'll check into the offers at a nother time.
Another case of a free first novel on Amazon, written as a set up so you will buy the inexpensive 2nd and 3rd novels. I abhor this marketing gimmick, but it does work. The time travel in this book doesn't happen until the end....this is merely a backstop set up and could have been twice as long to get to more meat than this short story. That said, I am interested and will likely buy the follow ups once I am no longer mad that there wasn't a complete story in this first novel. Again...BAD author marketing tactics. just ticks the reader off
Absolutely loved this book. The plot just gets better and better. The story centers around 3 people. Kate, Christian and Dylan. Kate is a battered and beaten housewife, Dylan is in a very unhappy marriage and works for his father in laws top law firm but hates his job and Christian is a serial killer.
These 3 people die all on the same day, and the 3 of them wake up 25 years earlier in their life to get a second chance.
This is an interesting premise for a story and I like it so far. I say this because this is a three-part series of nevellas. This first installment tells about the lives of three individuals who die on the same day. Roughly the last 25% is the characters realizing they have been taken back 25 years in the past retaining the knowledge the gained in their previous life. The characters are interesting and I'm looking forward to reading what happens next.
I really enjoyed this story, it was easy to read and it presents the reader with some interesting questions. The problem I have with it is that this does not feel like a book, but rather a part of a book. What Re-Runners First Life does is set the premise and introduce the characters, but there is no further development of the story because that's saved for the sequels.
This book touched me. How often have we all thought about being able to start again, and not make that fatal choice? What if one could wake up one morning and do it all again, with the knowledge of how our decisions affected the outcomes; with the power of Hindsight!. Love this book, and immediately purchased the second one!!
I really liked this story and I want to read the rest of them. You live, you die and then you live again. What would you do differently if you had that chance with the knowledge you gained living the first time? Interesting premise, can't wait to read the rest.
I really did enjoy the story and the writing was clean and enjoyable. I guess the down side was the fact I got 70% Through the book and got to the end. Then it was preview for the next book in the series...
