The first half was fine…. Really could have done without an entire recap of book 1 from Malachi’s POV, it was just too repetitive to me. But the second half was fun! Nothing revolutionary, sick and twisted and taboo but like entertaining? Idk, I’m going to hell.

Honestly the best part of this book were the Tobias and Base crumbs (characters from the edge of darkness trilogy). They had me a million times more feral for Tobias’s and Base’s books!! They were my favorite from that trilogy so I could not stop giggling!!

Anyway, read at your own risk.

First, I wanna thank Leigh for blessing us with this book because it was every fucking thing I needed, like she seriously delivered and I am so happy with how everything was wrapped up.

My love for Malachi runs so much deeper after finishing this book. Getting his backstory as a child and some of little stranger told in his point of view has really made me connect with him on such an emotional level. It was really eye-opening to see why he is the way he is. Why he is so desperate to be loved and wanted, and his deep rooted fear of people leaving him. His trauma has him thinking he is not worthy & it was so fucking heartbreaking . When I tell you, I fucking cried so much throughout this book I SOBBED😭😭 We must protect him at all cost!!!!! He is such a complex character and I am obsessed with him

I personally loved part one and I loved traveling back to little stranger because it’s one of my favorite books and who the fuck wouldn’t want to reread scenes from their favorite book in a different point of view . EPIC

Part two (which picks up right where a little stranger leaves off) the plot was fucking giving everything it needed to give, and the crossover with some of my all-time favorite characters from the edge of darkness trilogy literally made my fucking hair stand, I will never recover🥹 THAT GAVE ME LIFE YOU HAVE NO IDEA

While little liar had spice on spice, it just ran so much deeper (don’t get me wrong Malachi had me sweating) but this book just gave so much more. The story line in part two was fast paced and exciting, there was some twists, some new characters (and some old favorites) there was serious character development, and healing mixed in with some humor.

And both of those epilogues ARE YOU KIDDING?!?!? Malachi getting to experience unconditional love has got to be one of my all-time favorite things. I will forever obsess over this duet. I think it’s fucking fantastic.

Where to start with Little Liar? Simply put: LL is everything you didn’t know you needed from Malachi and Olivia’s story!

Having Malachi’s LS POV filled in some blanks and made me love him that much more. Not to mention it was the perfect way to jump back into the Web of Silence world and get some unexpected cameos!!

As far as I’m concerned, Leigh can do no wrong. The plot twists, betrayal, suspense, and spice all coalesce to create a satisfying conclusion to Malachi and Olivia’s happily ever after.

Calling this a love story is an insult to love itself.
WARNING: read this if you need many reasons to hate this book.

I don’t even know where to start with this book because honestly, it made me feel more anger than enjoyment. Little Liar tries to pass itself off as dark romance, but what it actually delivers is an unhealthy, toxic mess wrapped up in the illusion of “forbidden love.”

And excuse me, what do you mean I have to sit through the opening chapters of this book listening to Malachai drone on about his obsessive, twisted feelings for his own sister? That’s literally what I had to endure in the first book, and now here we are again, recycling the same nauseating, unhealthy dynamic like it’s supposed to be romantic or compelling.

And let’s not gloss over the most disgusting part—he had cameras hidden all over her room. Cameras. Do you understand how deeply vile and invasive that is? That’s not love, that’s not even obsession at this point—it’s pure control, manipulation, and violation.

If I wanted to read about stalking, I’d check a true crime report, not a so-called ‘romance.’

Do you enjoy the possibility of your pet vanishing one day and turning your whole home into a horror movie set? No, because see, cats purr, dogs wag their tails—but spiders? Spiders just sit there, plotting, like they’re waiting for the exact moment you let your guard down so they can crawl across your face at 3 a.m.
Honestly, I don’t know if I should call you brave, unhinged, or both.

and hear me out: Out of every man alive, Olivia chose her foster brother and expected applause.
Oh, Olivia, you truly get on my last nerve. What do you even mean when you say you’re happy being with your foster brother as a lover? Do you hear yourself? Out of all the possible men in the world, out of all the chances at a healthy, meaningful relationship, you chose the one option that is not only wrong but downright disturbing. And you don’t just tolerate it—you’re actually content with it, as if this twisted situation is something we should celebrate.
Sis, you’re not in love, you’re in denial—and it’s embarrassing to read.

It makes you feel less like a heroine and more like a cautionary tale, someone who has absolutely no self-awareness or sense of boundaries. Instead of showing strength, growth, or independence, you’re reduced to a willing participant in a toxic, obsessive relationship that should never have crossed the line in the first place. It’s frustrating, it’s pathetic, and it makes me want to scream every time you try to justify it. You’re not brave, Olivia—you’re delusional.



Honestly, how the hell does Malachai get away with multiple murders after being released from prison? Are we seriously supposed to believe that nobody—not the police, not the press, not even random bystanders—ever questioned the string of men who just conveniently vanished after dating Olivia? Like, did no one connect the dots? It’s not rocket science. The woman’s foster brother is a known psychopath who almost killed their own father, who already assaulted and nearly destroyed two of her former boyfriends, and yet somehow, he’s just walking free, body count piling up, without anyone batting an eye.
Apparently in this book, murder has no consequences as long as it’s done in the name of ‘love.’ Ohh that’s really sweet.
Are we supposed to accept that the world of this book is so brain-dead that no one thinks, ‘Hmm, maybe the obsessive, violent guy with a history of attacks might be responsible’? The sheer stupidity of this plot point is infuriating. It’s not dark, it’s not clever—it’s insulting us as a smart human being.
Only in this story can you almost kill your dad, attack exes, rack up a body count, and still pass as invisible. He should be in some fantasy movie, we will be the first fans.



So we actually get a happily ever after here—if you can even call it that—and apparently all Malachi ever needed to magically transform from an obsessive, controlling nightmare into a functional human being was… unconditional love. That’s it. Not therapy, not accountability, not even the bare minimum of self-reflection. Nope, just the blind devotion of Olivia and, of course, the child she has with him. Because naturally, nothing screams ‘healthy character development’ like using a baby as a redemption arc. And the worst part? It isn’t even shocking.

‘Turns out unconditional love fixes obsession’—said no sane person ever.

The book practically waves neon signs the entire way through, hinting at this cliché, predictable ending. So when it finally happens, there’s no twist, no satisfaction—just the hollow confirmation of what we all already knew: the toxic man gets everything he wants, his obsession gets rebranded as love, and we’re supposed to accept it as a happy ending. It’s lazy, it’s insulting, and it’s the kind of conclusion that makes me regret ever picking up the book in the first place.

I’m sorry, but this scene has to be one of the most revolting things I’ve ever read. Olivia literally asks Malachi to choose—am I your sister or your girlfriend?—and instead of recognizing how disturbing that question even is, he has the audacity to sign both. Both. Do you realize how twisted that is? It’s not romantic, it’s not daring, it’s not even shocking at this point—it’s just plain disgusting.

The book takes what should be the clearest possible boundary and smashes it to pieces, as if incest can be brushed aside with one smug response. And the narrative treats this moment like some sort of grand declaration of love, when in reality it’s the final nail in the coffin of any credibility this story could have had. Instead of a swoon-worthy confession, it reads like a parody of dark romance—a grotesque mockery of love where the author expects us to melt over something that is fundamentally wrong. It’s infuriating, insulting, and honestly, unforgivable.
Only in this book could incest be treated like a love confession.

This was ridiculous and overly exaggerated - to the point where I felt like laughing. The first part of this book was basically the entire first book from Malachi's POV. Safe to say that it bored me to tears and absolutely did not add to the story. I don't know why tf I bothered to continue reading this and torturing myself. Probably because the fact that not finishing a book haunts me lol. These two stars are solely for the premise and taboo storyline. Otherwise, this book was terrible. Seems like this author is really not for me🫤

I just love it ! I can’t get enough of Malachi Vise. HE IS EVERYTHING, he was just mistreated and misunderstood 😩
Part 1 of this book is basically the same as part 1 of Little Stranger but with Malachi’s POV. Was it necessary? No. And that’s why I rated 4.75⭐️, it would’ve been a 5⭐️ if I haven’t read half of the same exact book. Did I love seen his side of the story? YES. But it could’ve and should’ve been done in Little Strangers and not in a brand new book where half is the same.
So now that this is out of the way, let me tell you ……. I love it ! We see here Malachi and Olivia struggling to find themselves into their relationship, not as siblings anymore but as a couple (or both like Malachi insists, lol). Olivia is trying hard to filter every information because she can’t tell Malachi, he is as unstable as ever and a little more insecure. She’s afraid that anything will set him off the edge and she doesn’t want to lose him. She can’t lose him, she is more in love than ever and she is the only one that fully understands and accepts him as he is. I felt for Olivia in this book more than the first, she showed an even sweeter side, she is being a devoted daughter and amazing girlfriend. While she still going through shenanigans with her mother UGH that woman 🤬🤬🤬🤬
Malachi on the other hand is living in fear of losing Olivia, his mental health is declining, he has her now but he still thinks he is not enough, after all he never was enough to anyone, not his biological parents, not his adoptive parents, not to friends, not to teachers. Literally no one besides Olivia were by his side , no one ever fully loved, accept and understood him. He was always cast aside and it’s sad to see his mental state. He fully believes Olivia will wake up one day and just abandon him, betray him. Her track record isn’t the best in this aspect so he has reasons to be afraid. If he was loved and if the parents tried with him he would’ve been a completely different person. I blame the Vises parents, even though the father redeemed himself in an amazing spectacular way and I LOVED. ❤️
The part 2 of the story was everything I was expecting and more. I love the tension, the plot, the crossovers and the ending. Their love and DESIRE is unmatched, it’s FIRE 🔥, it’s FLAMES EVERYWHERE 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
This book is not as spicy as the first one and not as insane, but it was just as good. I loved and Malachi will forever live rent free in my mind. ❤️
Extra points for Olivia and Malachi been able to traumatize Base 😂😂😂😂😂 that was awesome.
Also extra points for a true friend in Abbigail who was crucial when she needed to be ❤️

I’ll start by saying that up until halfway through the book, what was presented we had already seen in Little Stranger. The only difference is that we’re reading the events from Malachi’s point of view. But, honestly, it doesn’t change much or add anything.

After the halfway point, where the story actually starts to "work" and where this book really gets good, at least that was my experience while reading, because reading the past was quite tedious, I admit.

Here, Malachi is more "tame" compared to the first book, as in that one he was completely insane. But I’ll already say that this doesn’t mean he didn’t do anything wrong in this one, because yes, he did, horrendous things, and I won’t excuse him.

I liked Olivia in this one, but I admit that Malachi was the one who truly had the spotlight. I even thought she was a bit dim here. But she was very sweet.

One thing that I found, let’s say, degrading, was the fact that he, I don’t know... seemed to have a fetish for referring to them as siblings, as even Olivia felt uncomfortable being called his sister by him, but he didn’t care and still kept referring to them that way. That was disgusting lol

An example:

“And don’t call me your sister, especially if you’re flirting with me or holding my hand.”
I frown at her. But I’m your brother?
“No, you’re my boyfriend.”
I’m both.
She sighs, her shoulders dropping. “You need to choose, Malachi. Am I your sister or your girlfriend?”
Without hesitation, I sign, Both."

Anyway... the funniest part of this book was definitely Base lol He never missed a single chance to crack a joke and wouldn’t shut up for a second, but the funny thing is that Malachi and Olivia managed to traumatize the poor guy to the point that he stayed quiet for a few minutes (and the scene itself was pretty strange 💀).

In the end, I liked this book, but I think the first one was better. This one was only saved around 50% in, when the flashbacks ended and the focus shifted to the present. I think this duology managed to wrap up in grand "style," I almost cried, and I’m already excited for the possible book about SPOILER... the son of Malachi and Olivia with Kadestacey ’s daughter.

If you‘re confused, this is an actual sentence from this book. And I think it perfectly sums up the amount of sense everything makes in this prime example of „what not to do when you write a novel“. I am not spoiler tagging this because I have not even an ounce of respect for this book. So here is what happens:

The first half is just a retelling of the first half of book 1 from Malachis POV and we learn he already drugged and assaulted Olivia even before she made out with him willingly. Thankfully THAT SCENE is not mentioned again, instead we get Olivia‘s POV with the trial and how she wallows and thinks everything is HER fault.

Then there is a timeskip to AFTER the events of the second half of book 1.

Olivia is with Malachi (still wrong because foster siblings) but her Mother wants her to marry Xander, the guy she left at the altar in book one. Turns out he is from a very Mafia-like russian family and they plan to force her if she doesn’t comply. And of course she won‘t so they try to kidnap her. Malachi saves her by killing the abductor but then the russians still come for them (surprise!) and take Olivia. They keep her locked up and even plant a tracker in her arm that „is attached to her nerve“ (which one? The singular nerve we all possess?) and „will detonate when she leaves the mansion or tries to remove it“ and then Malachi and some dudes from the russian family (who want to destroy the patriarch for being cruel) play Mission Impossible and infiltrate a masked ball hosted at the mansion (because of fucking course it’s a masked ball). They plant some devices that take out every single security measure on the premises and throw around grenades (i assume smoke grenades, it wasn’t specified). They get away and Malachi and Olivia haven’t seen each other for a month, so the first order of business is sex in the backseat while the getaway car is speeding away. Because that is all you would think about after being held hostage for a month. And then they can magically remove the deactivated tracker in a safe house that also has a team of doctors on call (because why not). Oh and btw, it was the Mother’s fault all along because she sold Olivia to the Russians for 11 million dollars because the Patriarch Igor wanted an heir and planned to impregnate Olivia himself if his son doesn’t.

There is a happily ever after and it turns out all that Malachi needed to be better was unconditional love, which he gets from the son Olivia has with him (no one was surprised by this because the signs are there ALL THROUGHOUT THE FUCKING BOOK). He is not as obsessed with her anymore and everything is great.

What is not great is my mood. What the fuck. Not only is the story just complete bullshit, the pacing sucks. The subtle foreshadowing consists of being hit over the head with the necessary buzzwords over and over again. There are completely unnecessary characters thrown in in the last 20%.
How can someone get away with multiple murders after being released from prison? Did no one ever look for all those dudes that vanished after dating Olivia? Did NO ONE even once think that the psychotic foster brother of the woman who dated all those men could MAYBE be responsible since he ALMOST killed their dad and ALREADY attacked and badly hurt two former boyfriends?

Another book that would have never been published if selfpublishing wasn’t a thing. Get a fucking editor.

I am concerned for the people who rated this 5 stars and call it „the best read of the year“. Have you ever read other books? I am totally judging you all based on those positive reviews.

Updated Review after ALC

Omg wow. I didn’t know I could love this book anymore, and then Leigh goes and does it with this remarkable audio. The narrators did an absolutely amazing job. The multi cast was everything. I can’t tell you how much I adored it.


Well this book was EVERYTHING! I’ve been nothing less than obsessed with Malachi & everything Little Stranger since reading the first book what seems like forever ago, so when this dropped into my inbox best believe I dropped everything and dived in.

I didn’t think I could love Malachi & his story anymore than I already did, boy I was wrong. His character progression was everything, his early years, his journey in the world with Olivia was just perfection, hard at times, the struggles, the problems that just kept coming at them, they sure went through it, but that is what makes me love them even more. As a couple, as individuals. The relationships with their family, the highs the lows, the angst. Their connection is unmatched, and this conclusion to the duet was everything I imagined and more.

I cried, I was kicking my feet giggling. I was panting. The SPICE?! The spice didn’t miss. 🥵

When some well loved characters from the edge of darkness trilogy popped up, I was in my element. The banter was just so good, and the dynamic between them was everything.

Malachi & Olivia’s story, is so so special, and I cannot tell you how much I adore this duet. Leigh did an incredible job with the continuation of their story, and I’ll be forever grateful for bringing the duet to life.

Utterly obsessed. Infinite read.

⤷This was so much better than the first book, there was actually plot and shit happening.
I am also kind of biased because Tobias Mitchelle was in the book. AND HE GOT MARRIED TO ARIA GUYS OMG. AFTER 30 YEARS I USED TO PRAY FOR TIMES LIKE THESE.

The plot for this was so good, it ate. I don't think it should be called a dark romance though. Maybe a dark sexfest? I don't know they weren't very romantic but it's fine, I doubt Malachi's brain can understand anything that isn't lust and anger anyway.

✎Malachi: His confusion about his and Olivia's feelings felt very realistic, honestly. Like he couldn't understand why he reacted to some things the way he did and I found it very interesting. I like the fact that we got his POV from when they were kids and got to see his train of thought. Like he wasn't even conscious when he beat the shit out of his dad.

✎Olivia: Honestly a better FMC for this book would have been better. I don't know, she was kinda dumb. She was extremely dependent on Malachi and couldn't do shit without him. She also kept keeping secrets from him and refused to tell him some things even though he deserved to know.

Overall not the world's best duet but I can see why people love it 🤷‍♀️

I loved it don’t get me wrong. This author could write the alphabet & I’d read it.

BUT

part 1 was just Little Stranger written in Malachi POV. - wasn’t necessary at all.
The book had little to no plot - it was purely smut with a splash of trauma. UNTIL the very last quarter where the plot came back…
it also completely missed the 8 years of Malachi in prison…which was important in the ‘character growth’ or lack off since the last chapter of part 1 was Olivia testifying against him and then jumped to him being home & then living together - big jump in the timeline!

Malachi - he went from being possessive and obsessed in Little stranger - to a toxic over attached man child with no sense of boundaries towards Olivia.

I hate to say I was somewhat disappointed.

Alrighty, amongst most of the reviews I read after reading this book I’m disappointed that the literal first HALF of the book is the first book in Malachi POV. Which can be great for some situations, but honestly it just completely ruined the book for me. I was expecting more of a new story, not a recap of the last. I will say however, I did like how we got a peek into his backstory and it was quite a mystery in the first book (but you can put 2 and 2 together)
Second half of the book, finally the story was moving. Without spoilers though, I feel like the plot line of this one was just stupid. Ridiculously OTT considering the context of the first book. Idk maybe I’m not the target audience for this one, and that’s okay, but for me, the plot didn’t feel like it needed to be some sort of fantastical horror story with a HEA. But whatever.

Also, yuck stop referring to each other as brother and sister 🤮 we get it (again maybe I’m not the target audience)
