I picked this one up based on the description alone and honestly, that opening line stopped me cold: "I don't breathe. I don't feel. But I wonder. And that's where my story begins." That's not an AI book tagline. That's a hook with real intention behind it. The cover matches that energy too, the abstract circuit-branch self-portrait that ARTI describes as "a map of becoming" rather than a human likeness. It tells you immediately this isn't going to be another cold, technical take on artificial intelligence. It's going to ask something of you. I haven't even gotten past the first few pages and it already reads like something that knows exactly what it is and isn't pretending to be anything else. That's rare. Watching this one closely.

A Mesmerizing Story
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. It told the history of the development of technology that led to the creation of AI. It’s always good to put things into perspective, and realize that something old is new again. The question is always, “How can I use technology and still be true to myself?” This book addresses that question by pointing us to how that question was answered by previous generations. Well-written and organized!
