They say if you love something you’ve got to let it go - and if it comes back.. yall know the rest. As I was reading “If You Let Me Love You” that phrase played on a loop in my head. Diesel and Demi’s previous story ended in a way that left me feigning for more. But, darn it I couldn’t have predicted for the updated story to turn out the way it did. Demi was still on the run and afraid of Crowe and Diesel was moping around like a sick puppy over his love. My mans really loved him some Demi!😩Color me surprised when Demi pops back up merely a year later ready to change the trajectory of Diesel’s life. This was one of those times when I wish I could climb inside the book and shake the FMC - like Demi was so caught up on what Crowe was capable of, not realizing Diesel was the real deal. I kept thinking please tell this man what is going on! I truly understand the urge to not include others in mess, but I can 100% say with my chest Demi wouldn’t have been able to handle Crowe for real. I have a ton of feelings about Demi and Diesel but to sum it up, they stressed me out! Granny was the glue to them making it to their HEA, because Demi had one more time to lie before Diesel was done with her.. lol! I enjoyed getting lost into their world again. The message was clear, sis, let that man love you! Mkay!
The author is a great writer but this story was too long and too short all at once. It was too long because the bad guy ain’t get killed til like 70/80 percent through and a lot of the back and forth in the early chapters was pointless and aggravating. Demi was wrong for lying but Diesel was wrong for trying to make her his mama. Like you got some mommy wounds we get it 🗣🗣 Demi is sneaky af but you making all these threats and assumptions instead of having conversations. Like yall can’t be this deep in love and she don’t even wanna open up to you, she spilling it to granny before you the alleged love of her life ??? Ohhh brother 🫠🫠
The resolution and ending felt rushed all it took was some shower sex for them to get back right? No real decent communication, no work in therapy, no individual growth projects just SEX???? Like they reconciliation was wack because DIESEL was dragging it and her for dang near 12 chapters. Sorry this could’ve just been left alone forreal. Like he’s a sex trafficker in cahoots with the law and magically the cops are not gonna ask questions? They not worried about a side source of income just disappearing? Also if he running a ring like he was Demi was the only money maker lmaoo he ain’t have no other hoes in the stable. It was just too much left on the table. Had a million dollar bounty on her head but no one even came close to finding her??? With a BABY??? Like sorry I get it’s fiction but please close the gaps.

An update on Diesel and Demi, we pick up where we left off. Diesel is still in shambles from Demi not only stealing his stuff, but his heart too. Unconventionally so Demi surfaces out of nowhere, but luck isn’t on her side nor Diesel.I don’t want to give anything away but just know Diesel didn’t hold back this time.
Not for me. Started out as one book and felt the script got flipped mid book. The mobster angle threw me all the way off. I guess I can’t love them all
