The Spring 2024 edition of the British Science Fiction Association's Vector Magazine focuses on the theme of Modernisms in Science Fiction and Fantasy. This edition is guest edited by Paul March-Russell, and features editorial, articles and regular columns on the subject of Modernist works, perspectives, and analysis in SFF.
With contributions by Angela Acosta, Nick Hubble, Paul Kincaid, Nina Allan, Andrew M. Butler and a new regular column by Kat Kourbeti. Includes an interview with Kim Stanley Robinson by Henry Farrell, book reviews, and a tribute to Christopher Priest by Paul March-Russell.
Another fascinating issue of Vector. I found Nina Allan's article "J.G. Ballard and the New Radicals" especially interesting, and added several books to my reading pile as a result. Nick Hubble's regular column "The Resistance" also is utterly fascinating and energising in the face the enormous challenges that right-thinking people - and writers especially - face in modern society.
Copies of the always-thought-provoking and insightful Vector are available from the BSFA website to download.
