Knowing Beth by Kathy O’Rourke
Book One in the Men of Nirvana Flats Series.

Beth: A young woman in trouble.
Parker: A man with a sad secret.
Was it just an accident that they met? Or something else?
Can Parker and his crew help Beth handle her past demons? Can Beth help Parker deal with his painful past?
****************
The Nirvana Flats Motorcycle club finds her alone at a gas station in the middle of nowhere, broken and afraid. She begs them to leave her alone but something in her eyes and the way she is acting tells them there is much more to her story.

Parker:
“What is she doing here all alone with nothing? Who hurt her like this? “Her name is Beth and as she kneels at my feet, a small bundle of curly blonde hair with tears running down her face, I know I can’t leave her out here on her own. I just can’t. Picking her up, I deposit her on the back of my bike. “You’re coming with us.”

Beth:
“Where are you taking me?” I can’t believe I’m on his bike with my head resting on his back. Damn it, what am I doing? I just let myself get kidnapped and didn’t even put up a fight. I’m a complete idiot. Then I look out into my beloved desert and a feeling of calmness comes over me. I know I made it through the last three years, I can make it through this.

The men’s story continues in Book Two: Thanking Stars. Release date Christmas 2014.

Excellent

This was the first novel of many I hope. I hadn't realized it was the authors first until I finished it. It read as if it was written by a seasoned author. I loved the characters. They made me laugh and they made me cry. I'm looking forward to book two!

Ok so if you are looking for a new up and coming author that is not worried about attack a hard subject and make a book that is different then most look no further. This is a book that will keep you on your toes and will have your fingers turning pages till the end. Beth will make you feel for her and want to protect her. She may not always make the right choices but she does it with all the love in the world. Parker is a man you we all want to rescue us. His caring, careful and loving personality makes you fall in love with him from page one. Kathy takes a serious issue in the world and brings it to light in such a unique way. This is a MUST read that will melt your panties, make you sweet, bring tears to your eyes and have your heart racing. The way she writes her characters is mind blowing. You will meet other men...... Don, Red, Cookie, Riley and Tuck that will steel your heart just like the others in this book. I can not say enough great things about this book. It is on my top 10 list and a definite reread. So don’t miss out on this beautiful story of sacrificing so very much for love. Thank you Kathy for this book that we all can really sink our teeth in and bringing Nirvana Flats to life so we all feel it is a safe haven.

There is nothing hotter to me than a dominant man who treats those around him with fairness and compassion. If you add in a group of such men on Harley's...well, you've just succeeded in sending me to Nirvana.
Knowing Beth is Kathy O'Rourke's first book and I must say, she had me hooked by the third chapter. Her characters were well written and the story-line held my interest to the very end.
Beth is a young submissive locked in an extremely abusive relationship who suddenly finds herself tossed aside like garage. With very little, she heads to the one person who she knows will help. Along comes what she thinks is a biker gang who takes over zealous interest in her. She fears for her safety as they gather around her until she hears the calm, dominant voice of Parker.
I thoroughly enjoyed this love story that allows the reader to peek into the lifestyle of BDSM and the relationships that develop. It will tear at your heartstrings. I can't wait until the next book in the series comes out.

I was hooked

This book was an absolute wonderful read, I couldn't put it down, I just HAD to finish it! These characters are amazing, so easily lovable.
I've never read an MC series, it never really got my attention, maybe that's why this has sat on my Kindle forever, just waiting to be read. But either these MC men are not like the others or my perception is way off base. Whatever the case may be, I'm so glad I gave this book a try and can't wait to read more in the series!
You can't help but feel for Beth from the very first sentence; broke, on her own & broken. And when she meets Parker and the rest of these yummy men (I have my favorite, you will too) you see a change that you can't help but smile and finally feel some hope for this girl. Then comes the drama, and boy does it come! Just have tissues ready, that's all I'll say! The end make me smile, laugh, cry and have an insane amount of hope for the future of all these people.
I still don't know about changing my views of other MC books, but this has captured my attention and heart!

Debut work - very good! I was a little blindsided by part of the plot, but since the author didn't put it in the story description, I'm not sure if she's going for the element of surprise or not, so I'm not going to "spoil" that plot point.

Beth is escaping from a really horrible situation when she's discovered by an MC. They're a group of rough-looking bikers, and she says she's not sure why she allows them to "rescue" AKA "kidnap" her, but it's fairly obvious why from the get-go (and no; it's not actually the obvious that you're probably thinking!). She becomes close with them very quickly, and the beginning of the story is intriguing & interesting. Then it veers off into...I'm not sure what or why. The last part of the story is sorta jacked up (not the writing, just where the story goes) & I didn't really like that. It recovers somewhat toward the end, and overall I enjoyed the read and am definitely looking forward to more stories about this group. : )

I sat down on Tuesday morning intending to read for an hour after seeing the children off to school. What felt like an hour later there was a knock at the door. The children were home, the house was a mess, no chores done. I did however have a finished book and tear tracks down my cheeks to show for my time.
Beth is a damaged female. Mentally and physically. 3 years of abuse and mistreatment have taken their toll on this beautiful woman. Reaching breaking point, she cracks. Enter nor one, but three gorgeous guys. A gang on motorcycles, what did they want, would they hurt her. She did not know it yet bit this gang were the key to her recovery, mental and physical. She just didn't know it yet.
Emotionally written, beautiful, detailed characters, tragedy, love and last all in one book. What more can we ask for. This book draws you in from the very first few pages. The end leaves you begging for more. More is what we are going to get. Can't come quick enough for me. Xxxxxx

Knowing Beth is tale of love and trust. Trust in others as well as yourself.

When Parker finds Beth his protective nature kicks in. Seeing this broken woman, afraid of her own shadow stirs his Alpha to life. When he and his crew take her in and offer her a safe place to recover from her pains, both physical and emotional he never expects to fall for her. Nor does she expect to be able to trust again.

This debut novel from Kathy O'Rourke, is not the MC or D/s books you may be used to reading. The bikers are not hardened criminals up to no good. And the Alpha males, while Dominant, show more of their softer side than typical Doms. Kathy has done a wonderful job of treating us to another side of the strong and brooding Alpha male.

If this book is any indication of Ms. O'Rourke's ability to reign in her readers, I know that the books to come from this author will only get better with each volume.

I rate this book 4.5 stars

Debut? Great Job! *Warning* There is a graphic subject of abuse. But adds credence to this story. From the very beginning, of Beth sleeping in her car you get hooked, and want to know Why. Along comes (not your average) MC club. The "I don't know why's" start to become apparent and the starts to unfold. You will get caught up in the life of Beth and Parker. I will not give any spoilers, but towards the end I really started to cry, and just about the end I cried a little harder. There are some very special Men in this book and I am looking forward the other stories about these special Men.

great story. I loved the men of Nirvana Flats and their protective nature. There were a few parts that it felt a little rushed but it didn't change the overall feel of the story. It took me a little to get into the story, I think that is mostly because I am used to reading books that are 3rd person and this one is 1st. But overall I loved the book.

Unbelievable this is Kathy O'Rourke's debut book. The characters draw you in and make you feel like part of the family. As far as I am concerned Ms. O'Rourke ranks right up there with my other favorite authors. Great job! I can't wait to read the rest of the series.
