Trusting a heart that watched yours break is sometimes the bravest thing you can do.

Aurora Greene has spent her life trying to make others happy. Following in her dad's footsteps, she enrolled at Liberty Grove to study law, believing it was the only way to make him smile again after her mom’s death. But when her dad passes away suddenly, Rory is left with nothing but questions—and no idea what she wants for herself. Until she finds them—her old figure skates. Skating had gone from being the reason she woke up to being too painful to face, but now, she’s ready to reclaim her joy—and maybe herself—by lacing them up again.

But chasing her dreams comes with a financial, emotional, and physical price, and it’s a cost she’s not sure she can bear alone.

Enter Finn Rhodes, star forward of the Liberty Lions hockey team and the guy who shattered Rory’s heart freshman year when he turned her down in front of everyone. For Finn, hockey isn’t just a sport; it’s his ticket to the NHL, where he dreams of skating for the Quebec Knights like his legendary grandfather. But there’s one problem: he’s failing his French minor—a language he desperately needs to master to impress Canadian scouts.

As lessons turn into late nights and rivalry gives way to something more, Rory and Finn are skating on dangerous ground. She’s fighting to rediscover herself, and he’s running from everything he fears becoming. But in each other, they might find more than they expected—and everything they’ve been searching for.

such a beautiful and comforting story. i felt so connected to these characters and they felt like authentic people.

i think both these characters are absolutely perfect for the other, like 100% they belong together. aurora wears her emotions and everyone knows how she's feeling but finn is more cautious and acts indifferent to his own feelings a lot of the time.

his relationship with his sister (aurora's best friend) was the purest thing ever and i loved their dynamics and how much they cared about one another.

aurora has such a good friendship with her friends and it was so fun and healthy. they all genuinely cared about each other so it was sweet

then sweet talking in literal french 😩

“Aurora Greene just kissed me. And all I wanted to do was run after her and ask her to do it again.”

this story follows aurora, who has spent her life following in her father’s footsteps, but when he suddenly passes away, she realizes she has no idea who she is in absence of him. one day, she has to clean out her old house, and she find her old skates and that is when she decides to take up her old passion of figure skating, however she didn’t realizes that figure skating would come at a cost. finn rhodes is the star of hockey team, and who also had been the one to break aurora’s heart during freshman year. unfortunately, finn is failing french and needs to pass the class in order to stay on the team, so he strikes a deal with aurora, and with this deal the find more than they were looking for…

wow, this was another incredible story by holly. after starstruck, i fell in love with holly’s writing style, and this book did not disappoint. i really loved rory and finn’s development between friendship to a relationship, and you can really see their relationship dynamic in general start to deepen as the story progress very beautifully. it was so sad to see these two both grieving in their respective ways, and to see them start to grow and heal with each other, and get past that state of loneliness and grief. i also loved seeing the girls again and just the entire girls and the guys dynamic, i miss them all sm! also, at the end, knowing that holly herself has experienced what rory has gone through had made this story much more meaningful.

Oh, how I’ve missed Holly Jukes and Liberty Grove, I’m so excited to be back.

This book was everything I hoped it would be and so much more. After finishing ‘Starstruck’, I’ve been yearning for the next installment in the series, and now that it’s finally here, and I’ve devoured it, I already can’t wait for book three.

I adored this story for so many reasons. Holly’s writing has that rare magic that completely pulls you in. You don’t just read about the characters, you feel what they feel. The emotions are so raw and beautifully written, I found myself falling in love with these characters all over again.

Finn and Rory have easily become one of my favourite bookish couples. They’ve both been through so much, and at such a young age. Watching them adapt, grow, and fight for their dreams together made me so proud of them. Rory has experienced so much loss, yet she continues to choose her dreams with courage and grace, and having Finn by her side only made it more powerful. Finn has his own struggles, but his love for Rory runs so deep that he works through them with quiet strength. I just love these two so much, it’s the kind of love story that sticks with you.

One of my favourite things about this series is how it celebrates girlhood and the power of female friendships. The way these girls lean on each other during their toughest moments, always showing up no matter what, is both heartwarming and nostalgic. These books are perfect for anyone in college, or anyone who misses those days of living with your best friends, spending every moment together, and building the kind of bonds that shape you forever.

And now, we wait for book three. I just know it’s going to break my heart, in the best way. As someone who sees so much of herself in Cora, I’m both desperate to read it and also wanting to protect my heart from what’s to come.

Thank you Holly Jukes for providing me with another ARC, put me on the list for book three pls 🥹🥹

I have read a LOT of bad books in my time but this easily falls in the top five. It should be a requirement that if you’re going to make your story take place in NYC you need to have actually lived there for a full calendar year because I promise you no one has needed a scarf and mittens in October since the Ice Age be so freaking for real. This entire story was so juvenile and drawn out there’s absolutely NO NEED for this to be 500+ pages. The characters were so cringey and didn’t have legitimate reasons for not being together and had the same conversation at least 12 times. Random semi tragic things would happen with no point and I am so happy this is over

aurora and finn… wow they were super sweet, i really loved their friendship and relationship. both struggling with grief in different ways, it was sad to read but seeing how they coped and found a way to find themselves again was lovely. aurora’s a beautiful character who i loved a lot, she was broken and tired so hard to figure herself out. finn, he’s a handsome and kind soul. seeing him scared of becoming his father and pushing away aurora was heartbreaking, i just wanted him to see what an amazing friend, brother and person he was. seeing them grow was amazing, they both have such amazing strength and courage. their chemistry whilst being slow burn was amazing, the growth of their relationship was so real and authentic. they really had a perfect foundation for a beautiful life. i loved how they both supported one another and grew to accept that they love each other.

reading the end and seeing how much this relates to holly’s real life made me love aurora’s story in a whole new way. this is book 2 in the liberty grove series and i really enjoyed both books, thank you to holly jukes for this arc!

《ARC REVIEW 》

This book held me. Softly. Then broke me in the best way.

I don’t even know where to start because wow—this story felt like a warm hug and a slow ache at the same time. It’s not just about skating, law school, or falling for someone who once humiliated you. It’s about grief, identity, dreams you buried to make others proud, and the terrifying process of choosing yourself—even when it’s messy.

Aurora (Rory) is the kind of girl you root for from page one. She’s lost, grieving, tired of trying to be perfect for everyone, and just wants to breathe again. Watching her rediscover her joy through skating? Absolutely beautiful. It’s not instant or easy, but it’s real, and you feel every step.

And then there’s Finn Rhodes. Hockey star. Golden boy. The guy who once embarrassed her in front of a crowd. I wanted to hate him, but he’s layered. He's just as lost in his own way, carrying the pressure of legacy and expectations while barely holding it together. Their relationship? Enemies-ish to tentative friends to feelings that hit like a puck to the chest. The chemistry builds slow and sweet, then wrecks you with all its sincerity.

The way they help each other—Rory with Finn’s French, Finn with Rory’s confidence—isn’t one-sided. It’s healing. Messy, unspoken, and intimate in a way that feels earned. The emotional stakes here are so real, I kept highlighting lines that just hit.

And the writing? Poetic without trying too hard. Sharp when it needs to be. Soft when it matters most.

THIS BOOK WAS INCREDIBLE!!! first of all i got the ARC copy of this which is a dream come true, and i was so excited to read this book that getting it earlier made my year!!! this story was incredible, the topics were so serious but holly jukes’ writing was so incredible that all the emotions in the book were so incredibly raw and strong!! the twists in this book were just jaw dropping!! this story was so beautiful!!! Aurora’s story is tragic but her character is so bright and positive!! and Finn’s story is just as tragic in different ways!!! it turns out okay in the end though which made the book/ story feel like a fairytale that i couldn’t put down. the one quote (not from the book) that keeps spinning around in my head is “a worst thing couldn’t have happened to a nicer person.” the best thing about this book was Finn’s sarcasm and the banter between Rory and Finn!!

**ARC REVIEW**
First of all I would like to thank Holly Jukes for allowing me to read this ARC. Reading that this book and reading that this book has elements of what happened to Holly makes it even more special.🩷

Points I enjoyed in this book:
Finn And Rory Made My Heart Grow
Ice Princess References
The Tropes
Black Character Representation

Didn’t like/ improve:
I didn’t like the Taylor Swift mentions/ references as I’m not a Swiftie in any sense. I do wish there were more confrontation scenes between characters in this book. For me when reading this book there wasn’t enough spice. Overall I enjoyed reading this book and I can’t wait to read more from Holly Jukes.

First of all, I want to thank the author for giving me the chance to read this incredible story before the release. Thank you so much, Holly!!!!

Second of all, can we take a moment to appreciate the cover design & the formatting??? Oh my god, it is PERFECTION.

Now, let‘s get into the actual review!

Wonderstruck by Holly Jukes is a heartfelt, emotional story about second chances, healing, and learning to trust again. The novel centers around Rory, a young woman who has suffered unimaginable loss, leaving her clinging to the small but meaningful world she’s built with her friends at college. Despite her grief, Rory shows incredible strength as she attempts to rebuild her life — a journey that unexpectedly brings her back to the ice rink, reigniting her passion for figure skating. ⛸️

Finn, a college hockey player with dreams of going pro, has his own battles to fight. Last year, Rory asked him out, but fear and insecurity held him back. Now, as fate brings them closer once more, Finn is determined to be there for Rory, helping her train and chase the dreams she thought she had lost. However, Finn struggles with deep-seated fears of becoming like his estranged father, and this internal conflict causes him to be frustratingly cold toward Rory in the beginning. 🏑

❄️ Aurora Greene just kissed me. And all I wanted to do was run after her and ask her to do it again.

Jukes does an incredible job portraying the complexity of grief and trauma, weaving it naturally into both Rory and Finn’s stories without ever feeling heavy-handed. The chemistry between them is undeniable, but what makes their romance truly special is the way they support and challenge each other through the healing process. Rory’s resilience and quiet determination act as a steady anchor for Finn, while he, in turn, shows her that love and hope are still possible even after everything she’s endured.

🗽"I don't want to push you away," he said softly, like the world was finally making sense. "Then don't." My smile was gentle. "In fact, I'm not going to let you."
"Is that a threat, Greene?"
I blinked up at him, shaking my head. "It's a promise."

Also, can we take a second to talk about how he calles her Bambi? OH MY GOD. MARRY ME!!!! The emotional depth of this story is heightened if you’ve read Starstruck first, as it provides additional context for the friendships and histories that shape Rory and Finn’s world. Although this novel can stand on its own, I highly!!!! recommend starting from the beginning to fully appreciate the character development and relationship dynamics.

Although I personally found myself connecting a little more with Starstruck — Goldie and Tristan’s story — that’s simply because of the storyline and the dynamic between them, not because of any difference in the quality of Holly Jukes’ writing, which remains strong, heartfelt, and engaging across both books. Wonderstruck is every bit as beautifully written and emotionally moving!!!! 🫶🏼

Holly Jukes has crafted a story that lingers long after you turn the last page. I am looking forward to her next books!!! And again, thank you SO MUCH for the ARC. 🫂

“Rory was the lake you stand over just before you bungee jump, staring into its depths and losing yourself in the currents. The kind that terrifies you, yet somehow it whispers - soft and certain - that you’ll be okay if you trust yourself enough to fall. So, you leap. And before you know it, you’re climbing back up the steps desperate to jump again. And again. Until you’re addicted - until it’s the only way to start your day.”
FIN RHODES THE MAN THAT YOU ARE!

I was so lucky to receive and arc copy of this book! I have been waiting g for Finn and Rory’s story since I finished Starstruck in January and let me tell you it did not disappoint 🤍

This book is for all of the eldest siblings who love men who yearn. I fear no fictional man will ever compare to Finn Rhodes because this man literally worships the ground Rory walks on and he’s so scared of that fact! He literally only wants to make Rory smile again, like his main mission in life is for her to be happy - like seriously I LOVE THIS MAN 🤍

Aurora Greene is so special to me! She’s a people pleaser who has never done anything for herself and reading about her rediscovering her joy and falling in love was just beautiful to witness! I giggled and kick my feet so many times and the scene at the hockey game with the Jersey Night had me gagged 🔥

I love both of these characters and being able to still have glimpses of my favourite group of friends (including my faves Goldie and Tristan) really makes this book feel lived in. The writing was beautiful and I may have cried a couple of times but it was SO worth it 🫶

Genuinely, if you want a beautifully written, sort of enemies (but not really) to lovers with a man who would literally burn the world for her, then this is the book for you 🫶💫

Holding hands with Aurora Greene, something so simple, felt undeniably right.

This book is so cute, perfect for fans of Icebreaker

I went into this blind, I didn't manage to read Starstruck before reading this. But I didn't feel like I was missing much, there were a few things that I was a bit lost on but for the most
I felt pretty in the know.

Liberty Grove is such a fun setting, reading about Rory getting lost on the way to class, bumping into friends. It was so cute.
I loved Holly's writing, it was so fun and believable! And the pacing as always is impeccable.

I loved Rory's friend group, four best friends who have each other's backs no matter what. They are willing to do anything for each other no matter what.
Finn's friend group made me laugh so hard, the constant teasing and joking with each other was so fun.

I really liked Aurora and Finn, they went through a rough patch in Starstruck and it causes Rory to hold a grudge against Finn, so seeing him work hard to get her to trust him again was so fun.
I really liked Rory's strength. She loses her father before the book starts and as his sole living family member it's on her to do everything, including cleaning the house he owned.
Which is where she finds something connected to her past, a past full of laughter and memories.
Finn has one goal In mind, making it pro doing ice hockey like his grandfather.
So seeing him put his goals aside to help Rory was incredible.
Rory and Finn's romance was so wonderful and I hope we see more of them in future books.

Thank you so so much to Holly for allowing me to be an ARC reader and for trusting me with your beautiful work xx

SO SO CUTE 🥰 I absolutely adore both Rory and Finn.

This story felt like the epitome of the invisible string theory, always tangled in eachothers lives and ALWAYS finding their way back to each other. Rory and Finn reunited when they needed eachother most, building a strong support system and found family around them.
I always love a second chance and this was done perfectly!! They could read eachother like a book and it truly felt like they were destined to be together 💖
Both characters come from tragic and traumatising backgrounds, (my favourite ofc) and I think that’s what made their relationship work because they understood eachother on levels that people who haven’t experienced grief, would understand.
I loved watching Rory’s character unfold and work through her grief while figuring out her life and rediscovering what makes her happy. ALSO, after finishing this whole book I genuinely feel like I’ve completed a full Duolingo course and I’m now fluent in French 😌. Finn’s flirty French quotes had me swooning, I’m a little bit obsessed with that man.

Such a sweet story 🩷 Wonderstruck releases May 14th!!!!

After getting to arc read Starstruck (book 1 of this series), I was genuinely so excited for book 2, I signed up for the arc as soon as it was available and when I found out I would receive the arc of Wonderstruck I actually think I squealed just a tad…

From the minor interactions between Aurora ‘Rory’ and Finn within Starstruck I knew I would love love love this book. I’m a sucker for a hockey romance, have always enjoyed watching figure skating films and actual figure skating on youtube so the tropes hockey player x figure skater would have had me alone, but their story is one of heavy emotions, some trauma but so much love between both the mc’s and the friend group of this college romance series.

At the end of the first book it sets up for this book by shifting our focus to these main characters. Rory is given this heartbreaking news and it's Finn who she collapses into crying. Throughout Wonderstruck we get so much more detail regarding her life and how she ended up at Liberty Grove. Even though it’s sad and life changing she falls into this path where she has that chance to rediscover herself and her passion for figure skating and chooses what will make her happy.

Finn Rhodes, this boy is so vulnerable to his own thoughts that it holds him back. His dad is a big part of how his behaviour is the way it is, which doesn’t necessarily excuse it, but it’s written in a way to make you understand it. Not wanting to turn out like a parent is a feeling I’m sure many have experienced that you’d do anything to achieve that, he did what he thought would protect himself but truly he was just scared. He cares so deeply for the people around him so seeing his behaviour change throughout was really heartwarming. However much I love Finn as a book boyfriend he is on an equal level to Tristan, neither of them can beat the other.

I do believe that with each book of this series, it will just keep getting better. We’re two books in and the world building taking place really elevates how much I’ve fallen in love with this series and its friend group. I had sometimes forgotten that I was even reading a book because I just felt like I was a part of that world. Holly writes in this way that makes falling in love with the characters so easy.

Don’t ask me which couple I prefer because I have nooo idea 🫣

I have never been more excited for a book as I was for this one.
I needed Rory and Finns story as soon as I finished starstruck!

The way both of these characters have grown since the first book is so cute ☺️
You cannot tell me that they weren’t made for each other.. the connection they have!

Rory and Finn both have their own issues going on but they still managed to support and be there for each other. I guess one could say they can’t stay away from one another 😏

From reading this book you can feel the connection between Rory and Finn even before they were together, you can tell how much they care about each other and I love when you can feel that just from reading 😌

holly!! thank you so much for the arc!

“Rory was the lake you stand over before you bungee jump, staring into it’s depths and losing yourself in the currents”

I cannot decide whether i loved book one or two more. but this series is phenomenal, and somehow only getting better. This really feels like holly’s identity as a writer (I mean that having only read the liberty grove series, it just feels so her).

Finn is golden retriever energy, the most yearning, soft hearted soul and seeing him find his way to Rory and trusting himself to love her loudly made me squeal. Rory deserves the loudest love and Finn is *no exaggeration* perfect for her. I loved how real they felt, how honest and at times the very real flaws of their characters. And those last few chapters were an emotional rollercoaster!
Cora, I am ready for your story next!

tropes:

💕 ARC Review 💕

Wonderstruck by Holly Jukes
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Okay but… this book had me in my feelings in the BEST way. If you’re like me and swoon over a college romance with a side of found family and a dash of forced proximity? You need this on your shelf. 🥹💕
Side note- plus the cover is gorg 😭

Rory is the softest, sweetest figure skater — total people pleaser with a heart of gold. Her love for skating radiates off the page, and I wanted to protect her the whole time. Then there’s Finn… Liberty Grove’s hockey superstar who’s hot, talented, and of course in desperate need of a French tutor 👀

What follows is a slow burn, second-chance, sweet romance that had me kicking my feet. They’ve got history, shared trauma, and that push-pull dynamic I live for. Plus, the found family vibes?? Chef’s kiss. 💫

Thank you Holly for giving me the opportunity to read this work of art!

Add this to your TBR immediately. Finn and Rory totally wonderstruck me 💕

i was very fortunate to receive an ARC of Wonderstruck by Holly Jukes. All opinions are my own and given freely. 🤍

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
🌶️.5/5

content warning: the loss of a parent/grief, mentions of alcohol abuse, toxic parent-child relationships, strong language, scenes for readers 18 and over.

“i have a feeling we have every lifetime to do what we want. you feel like a timeless kind of love.”

i say this about all of holly’s books but this book deserves all the stars!! i fell absolutely in love with this book and its characters. holly truly has a beautiful way of writing her characters that makes them so relatable. she just has a way of making you feel what they feel and it is honestly so special to read! wonderstruck is the most beautifully written love story and i didn't want this book to ever end. i will forever be obsessed with anything and everything holly writes! and i cannot wait for everyone else to fall in love with this story as much as i did!

aurora and finn will forever hold a special place in my heart. they’ve been through so much and i wish i could’ve given them both the warmest hug ever. their friendship and relationship was so sweet. their chemistry was undeniable, but the growth of their relationship was so real and authentic. and the way they supported and challenged each other throughout their healing process was so special. i just love these two so much!

i will now be waiting not so patiently for cora’s story, tissues in hand!! once again thank you so much for giving me the chance to wonderstruck early! 🤍

"Every time I saw something pink I thought of nothing else but you for the rest of that day.”

Aurora and Finneas are absolute romantic. I love that they gave a new definition to second chance romance and the yearning on both ends are just satisfying! Rory finding her dreams again is truly inspiring, and I aspire to be like her when I grow up (and like you too, Holly!) while the vulnerability and honesty of Finn is refreshing to me.
I guess the only reason I hold on to that one other star is that because I felt like the story was dragging on, the chase was good but I was longer than I have expected.

Even as a part of a series, this book was easy to read a standalone.

Kudos to you Holly Jukes, it's been a while since I picked up a book of yours (I was also in the arc team of your baby TLOY) and cheers to more romantic novels from you, you never disappoint! ✨️

Thank you to the author for this ARC 🫶🏻

Rory has lost everyone except her friends at college. She asked out Finn last year, but he was too afraid to try. Finn is a hockey player looking to move on to the pros. When Rory decides to explore figure skating again, Finn tries to help her train. While spending more time together, Finn is hot and cold with Rory.

Both of these characters have to navigate grief and trauma in order to have their HEA. Finn is constantly questioning if he will be like his father, but Rory stays by his side.

I would definitely recommend reading the other book in this series first!

Thanks so much to Holly for the ARC of this beautiful book!💘Just when I thought a sports romance couldn’t impress me more than ones I’d already read, along came Wonderstruck! ⛸️🎀It’s so much more than a sports romance, and the substance and emotions in this book were perfection. The characters were SO different to Tristan and Goldie that it didn’t feel like you were reading about them again, as sometimes people are hard to differentiate between in a series. But Rory and Finn were built so differently, but elements of all her Holly’s books were cleverly woven in! If you read and loved Starstruck, you’ll absolutely adore this instalment too! SO excited for whatever comes next💗

What a beautifully written book. A slow-paced read that doesn’t miss any of the details of the characters’ stories.
Finn and Rory’s story was captured so beautifully from their yearning, them getting over their previous hurt and trauma and being there for each other through every step of the way in their journey together and with their individual experiences, dreams and aspirations😩
Absolutely stunning, love it, love it, love it🥺

What a beautifully written book, absolutely enjoyed this read

wonderstruck was literally a wonderful read, and I enjoyed it so much. this book deals with so many raw emotions, and it was a wonderful experience.

rory and finn are both such sweet characters, you'll just want to hug them both so badly. their griefs are different, yet similar, and both of them help each other to cope with life.

the pull they had toward each other was so strong. no matter where they were, in the end, they both eventually came back to each other and held on tightly, even though it took a long time.

finn's fear felt so real, and it was really refreshing to see how, in the end, he tackled it and realized that no matter what, his fear wasn't greater than his love for Rory.

rory had just lost her father and was so confused about what to do with her life, now that he wasn’t there, and she could no longer do things just for his sake, just to make him smile more. she now needs to figure out her life and do things just for herself without thinking about repercussions.

and finally she found her life’s purpose, and how opportunities literally came to life for her, was truly a wonderstruck moment. because in the end, everything works out for you, and if nothing is working out, then it's not the end.

rory and Finn’s relationship was truly beautiful. it was heartwarming to see how they tackled every aspect of their fears and traumas and helped each other become better versions of themselves.

the found family trope was just so better and i really loved their group so much. all the girlies had each other backs and the guys made sure to support them in everything.
worth the read, definitely :))

thank you for much @authorhollyejukes for the arc and sorry for this late review :(

I was honored to be selected for an ARC copy of this and couldn’t wait to jump into the world of Liberty Grove!
The characters are great and the story is sweet and lovely. I connected with the FMC from the jump and her story was just what I loved, growth, trust, friendships and love! Can’t wait to read more from this new to me author!

aurora and finn's story had me holding back some tears from time to time. I swear by the end I felt this pride in aurora for growing and accepting herself and her dreams that i wanted to hug her and never let go. same thing for finn, but with his relationship with his dad.

Wonderstruck was an amazing book, the plot and characters were very easy to connect and relate to.

Omg this book was so beautifully written, I related so much to Finn’s relationship with his dad and how strained the relationship was. I love how Rory decided that she wasn’t going to let Finn walk away from what they have. Despite having lost both of her parents, she remained soo strong and it was heartwarming to see her regain confidence on the ice again. I love found family tropes 😭😭😭
