Vile House #2

Fragile Facade

Rate this book
When a narcissist and a sociopath collide...

What’s a man to do when the family curse is close to catching up with him?

Taunt it, of course.

Beneath his facade of superiority, Soren ‘Ghost’ Sauder craves praise and recognition. To prove his supremacy, he defies the only sure thing in life—Death.

Bargained to Remiel, Killian ‘Riot’ Hallows is sworn to keep Soren from succumbing to the curse, but he won't stop Ghost's deranged dance with Death. He'll encourage it. Herd him there faster to prove Ghost isn't as superior as he thinks. Because to build his own ego, Riot tears everyone else's down.

Playing cursed games with the eldest Sauder grants Riot the highest level of authority, and he isn’t willing to give it up. With a thousand different masks for every facet of life, Riot has crafted himself to manipulate any situation to suit his needs, and Ghost is his most tempting target.

But as their dynamic changes from volatile dares to vulnerable unmaskings, Reaper Corp breathes down their necks, threatening their home and everything in it.

While Moros prepares for war, Riot’s facades slip away and Ghost’s fragile foundation cracks.

Reaper Corp is coming.

*Fragile Facade is book 2 in the Vile House series. Must be read in order.*

Oh my god!!! I didn't think I'd like any Vile Boy more than I like Krypt but I was so wrong!!

I absolutely LOVED Riot and Ghost!!!! I love their absolute savagery and the way they push each other to their limits so they can be the best, or to defy death itself. Honestly their soft moments are what got me hooked though. The smoothie, the calling cards, the hand holding, the snacks..... Absolute swoon 🥰🥰 I cried when Ghost had to leave without him, I cried when they were having their emotional moments, and don't even get me started on how I felt when they were playing their music!

There was definitely a more ominous feel to Moros in this book. The Reaper Corp threat felt more real and I'm honestly anxious about what's coming to town. I also happened to be listening to a thunderstorm playlist when I was reading most of this book (it gets my kid to go to sleep) and the way Ghost is attuned to the weather made it the perfect soundtrack to make me feel totally immersed in this story world. When I could hear the thunderstorms as Ghost was describing how they made him feel I got actual goosebumps! So now I feel like I need to find an ambient noise playlist for every book I read 😂😂

I can't wait to see whats coming with Facts in his story though. I already feel protective of his character so much and I have this horrible feeling that something bad is going to happen.

I also really enjoyed how we got to see more of the dynamic between the ten Vile Boys and how they're like a family.

That ending though with the town.... I am so mad on Ghost's behalf! Cannot wait for the next installment.

Just in case.

Harsh and brutal and beautiful.
Damn, I love this series.

I admit, it wasn’t easy to get Riot (Killian) and Ghost (Soren) —the respective older brothers of book one’s MCs— with them being a sociopath with a god complex and a narcissist, both always trying to be superior to the other (and everyone else) and the brutal ways they went about it. I’m not sure I even got it in the end.

He’ll chase me towards death and always pull me back because he knows the end is not what I seek.

This isn’t Hell.
It’s not Death’s doorstep.
It’s volatile and vulnerable love with the devil I picked and won to stand by my side.

The music piece the author linked for Killian (piano) and Soren (violin) playing together at the end made that moment between them even more goddamn beautiful than it already was!

And now I’m very excited for Facts.

Book 2 - Fragile Facade - 4.25 stars

⇢ this is supposed to become an eight-books series for all of the ten Vile Boys and they have to be read in order for there is an overarching plot connecting all the books and characters.

Screaming. Crying. Throwing up. Pt 2 the remix. I need a joint and a new tattoo STAT. This book hit me hard and soft.

Night did an incredible job continuing the story of Moros. We got new lore, characters, along with getting to know more about the group of Vile Boys we know and have grown attached to. (Love you Kyd!) Nothing about this followed the formula of the first book, wherever Night took me, I went willingly and most likely panting a little.

"When Volatile Meets Vulnerable."
Ghost and Riot are deliciously dark, dripping with tension, and enable each other to be the best and worst versions of themselves. Their vulnerable moments were on par with their spicy mind games and manipulation of each other. I was going from blushing, jaw on the floor to screaming and tearing up at how TENDER these two can get! And the possessiveness once they admitted their feelings? Chef's kiss.

The overarching plot with Moros Vs Reaper Corp was well done. Not only does it enhance Ghost + Riot's story but it gives other characters a chance to shine, get known by the reader and sets them up for their own story. It feels seamless and not forced, leaving me with SO many questions on what is going to happen next. Nordika is COOKING and I am going to be eating up this series as it continues.

It’s really just a matter of mood, god! Because I loved this one, and the flaws I saw in Sick Bargain didn’t hit the same here. This time? I vibed with it hard. It’s dark—like, they keep reminding us way past necessary kind of dark—but I was in the mood. And what a pair. JFC, if karma and soulmates are real, then Riot and Ghost—Killian and Soren—are it. They just belong together. They completely took over the story for me.

There’s something electric about the way they rip each other open—not just in violence, but in trust. Yes, they’re brutal, but it’s the intimacy between them that got me the most. The little gestures: smoothies, snacks, a held hand. It’s in those quiet, deliberate choices that their bond feels real. And no, they’re not good people. Nope. They scare the morally grey. This is just a dark, wrong vibe—you either like it or you don’t. I did.

🔪 The possessiveness
🔪 The tattoos
🔪 The smoothies
🔪 The “just in case” kisses
🔪 The music
🔪 The calling cards
🔪 The hand holding
🔪 The sick AF love declarations
🔪 The “Yes”

THEY. ARE. SO. BLOODY. HOT. TOGETHER. And “bloody” is the key word. This is rough, unsafe, maybe-your-life-ends-tonight, possessive sex. But also? “Just in case” — SWOON.

With shaky hands, I undo the belt and pull it off. Soren wobbles to his feet, pulling his pants up as he turns to face me. I’m too spent to stand, so he kneels in front of me, lifting my face by cupping my cheeks. My one hand is coated in blood from killing his cousin, so half his neck is tinged red when I look up at him. I don’t like another man’s blood on him, so I scowl at it.
“No masks?” he asks me.
“No cracks?” I ask him.
He smirks shyly. His eyes meet mine before he looks down at my mouth. “Answer still yes?”
Moths take flight in my heart. “To what question?”
He groans. “Don’t make me fucking say—”
“Yes.” I nudge his cheek with mine, angling him so I can press my lips to his. “Just in case, sweetheart.”
He melts. Dies. Comes to life. I don’t know, but it’s the single best moment of my life.

Now, it still carries over a few things I didn’t love in book 1. It’s very repetitive with the whole need to say “I’m so dark and twisted”. And honestly, all the Moros stuff—the gangs, the Vile House, the Reaper Corp—feels more suited to a dystopian book than a contemporary one. That’d make all the killing and violence a bit more believable because right now it sometimes feels a bit too over the top for "the real world".

Also, while I loved their dynamic, there were moments where it was a bit too much—too rough. I get that they’re not a “normal” couple (let’s be real), and that intensity is part of what makes them compelling, but it crossed a line for me here and there.

That said—the tension in this one? On another level. Moros feels more dangerous now, like the shadows are watching. The Reaper Corp’s presence is heavier, more immediate. I could feel the threat creeping in from every direction, and I loved that slow, dreadful build. I don’t trust anyone anymore. The plot is still unfolding, there’s so much I don’t know or even understand, but I’m completely here for it.

I also really liked getting more of the Vile Boys' group dynamic—it’s chaotic and deadly, sure, but it feels like family. I thought the next book would be Kyd, but turns out it’s Facts! 👀

And the ending…
Nordika.
That was pure evil.
You… I… grrrrrrrrr.

I received a copy of this book from Nordika and this is my honest opinion.

'Just in case....' 🥹🥹🥹
it just gets better and better, these two are everything

This book is insanely amazing!! I can't get over it. Soren is chasing death and Killian makes a new deal with him until a curse turns into 'just in case' 🥰

Their 'I hate him sm I love him' vibes were so strong and so fitting for who they are and I was living for it 🫠🫠

All their hate and all their fighting and the music shop and the graveyard scene 😮‍💨 entirely Unhinged but utterly perfect. Fighting is their love language but so is possessiveness and 'Just in case'. I loved this sm🥹 Can't wait to read more of this series.

“You could ask me.”
I hold him against me, smiling, too. “You hate me?”
“Absolutely.”
“You mine?” I speak against his lips.
“Mhm.”
“You superior to me?”
“Always.”
I lick my lips, wetting his as my nerves grow. “You love me, sweetheart?”
he whispers, “Yes.”
My exhale isn’t meant to be shaky, but it is. Beyond shaky. Entirely stuttered because… he loves me. I’m loved.”

these two. these two. these two.

it’s dark. it’s gritty. it’s not normal and the characters remain narcissistic and sociopathic till the end and try to make their relationship work around their fucked up personalities. so ;)

"When the thump in my chest stops, it’ll be when he’s gone. Because my heart beats maliciously for his— because of his. Spiteful and cruel. Honest and offbeat."

If Nordika Night writes it, I am going to read it - she's one of those authors for me. And when she says something is dark then you best believe it's dark and absolutely won't be for everybody - even Nordika fans. This is NOT for the faint-hearted or easily offended. So before you decide to read Fragile Facade make sure you check out the author's notes, and then strap in for the ride!

Fragile Facade is book two in the 8 book connected Vile House series, and whilst they are standalone in respect of each couple, the series is very much linked, with an over-arching storyline and linked characters, so you must read them all in order.

This story belongs to Soren ('Ghost') and Killian ('Riot') and it's darrrrrrrk and messed up. Of course, I loved it regardless and in fact even more than book one, Sick Bargain, because this one features my fave trope, enemies to lovers 🖤.

"How can I descend any further when you are my deepest pit in Hell?"

What To Expect:

💚MM dark romance
💚very dark themes
💚enemies to lovers
💚non-con
💚steamy first times
💚best-friend's brother
💚narcissist/sociopath
💚obsessive/possessive
💚found family
💚blood play
💚HEA (but warped)

Still want to read it?! Don't say I didn't warn you! Welcome to Vile House....

"Somehow, he got what he wanted, and I got what I wanted, and neither of us ever gave up any power for it. It’s a dynamic of intensity that blends us together, his masks and my cracks, pulling and pushing until our bits meld into something that brought us both up short because we never expected to feel anything from it. Nothing beyond a need to win and out-maneuver one another, a competitive edge that became a need for more."

“I never expected you to come back.”
“No? Are you fucking stupid? You think I could live with the fact that you played the hero… for me? Fuck you, Kill. Fuck you for putting me in that situation, and fuck you for scaring me... You scared me.”

I need more stars for this book. I seriously don’t know how I’ve been so DUMB for not reading it sooner, it’s been sitting in my tbr collecting dust while I’ve been out here ignoring a whole damn MASTERPIECE. This is hands down the best book Nordika has written so far.

I press my lips to his forehead. “Just in case,” I say to his unconscious mind.

╰•★★ Soren "Ghost" Sauder ★★•╯

I don’t like being alone. My mind isn’t safe.

My man, my baby... Soren was EVERYTHING. I connected with this character on a whole other level. His thoughts, his feelings, the way he moved through the world… everything about him pulled me in from the very first page.

I don’t know how to feel about not being needed. I don’t want the burden, I just want to be important. I am important and I want everyone to know how much.

Soren WAS a narcissist, but that man felt, he had feelings, he always cared in his own twisted way. He just had to repress it all but those feelings were always there. He wanted to be seen, valued, recognized, IMPORTANT.

He’s trying to take something. I’m trying to protect something. Our motives are different, and mine is more powerful.

He protected his brothers, his family, their town and he entertained his family curse because it made him feel something.

“Do you want to die, Soren?”
Soren. “No.”

It took me a minute to fully understand his obsession with chasing death but he didn’t want to die, he was chasing the feelings that came with being on the edge of death, because that’s when he could actually feel something. One of the things I loved most about his relationship with Killian was how they separated Killian and Soren from Riot and Ghost. Soren didn’t want to die, but Ghost was the one “chasing” death.

Here I fucking am. The Ghost of Moros. Hurt with me.

I get tears in my eyes every time I read that line, that whole chapter was pure PAIN. When he started crying, I was crying with him. And when Remi and Selena joined him? I lost it. It was one of those chapters you just can’t and won't reread because they hurt so much.

I ignore my gathered audience and play for me and only me. He'll hold my hand. He’ll kiss me, not for the last time, just in case. He’ll chase me towards death and always pull me back because he knows the end is not what I seek.

I couldn’t hear his music but I could feel it, it was so beautifully written, so raw that it brought every emotion to life. You could feel Soren’s inner conflict, his pain, his fear of losing Killian, the crash from the adrenaline, the weight of the curse, his bond with Riot… all those repressed feelings bubbling up and spilling over. So yes, it hurt to read about him hurting that much... And now I’m crying writing this lol.

╰•★★ Killian "Riot" Hallows ★★•╯

“I lost the ability to interpret my own music when I layered on too many masks. I don’t even know who the fuck I am anymore.”

The first half of the book was really focused on Soren and his family’s curse and the game they had going on between them, so there wasn’t much space given to Killian’s own internal struggles.

“You hate the quiet, don’t you? If something isn’t life-or-death or getting you off, you don’t know how to function. You don’t know how to be alone because you can’t manipulate yourself.”

It was so easy to them to read and understand each other and Killian was an interesting character, and I could definitely empathize with him too. He was the volatile one, wait no, Riot was volatile and Killian was fragile when Soren was fragile and Ghost was volatile… Idk if that makes sense.

No one has a higher sense of self than Ghost does. Oh, wait. I do.

And I’ll never stop being blown away by the fact that he actually pulled this off:

“I poisoned Reaper Corp.”
“You get captured and manage to poison their water?”

Yep, I was on my knees for that man.

╰•★★ Soren and Killian ★★•╯

“Just in case. Just in case you died trying to save me. Just in case it was your only chance to get out. Just in case it was the last thing you ever saw me do. Just in case.”

Chapters 20 to 29 are what sealed my obsession with this book. At that point, I actually started getting invested in what was happening in their town, not just about them.

“Fuck you, Riot. Fight harder. We can get out of this... Please, Killian.”
“I blink, sweetheart. You win. Now go.”
“Killian!”

I mentioned before how they separated their Vile House personas from who they really are, behind their mask, and let me tell you: Soren and Killian were SO cute omg. Despite having such intense and dominant personalities, they were shy with each other. Like genuinely hesitant and tender in a way that hit me right in the chest.

“If we both make it out of here alive, I’ll give you something you want.”
“The fuck do you know about what I want?.”
“You want me to hold your hand.”

It’s like they kept switching between volatile and vulnerable depending on who they were in that moment, together and on their own. Soren and Killian as a couple were the vulnerable ones.

“You hate me?”
“Absolutely.”
“You mine?”
“Mhm.”
Our foreheads roll together and our smiles connect, eyes closed. “You superior to me?”
“Always.”
“You love me, sweetheart?”
“Yes.”

╰•★★ Ghost and Riot ★★•╯

“How close were you?”
“Not close enough.”
“One foot in the grave?”
“One foot in Hell, the other lifted to take the last step. Wanna walk there with me?”

Ghost and Riot as a couple? They were the volatile ones. Straight-up unhinged, possessive, protective, there was nothing soft between them, only violence, tension, and obsession. I wasn't surprised when the director had to make sure they weren’t gonna end up killing each other lmao.

If Riot is dead, I’ll burn Reaper City to the ground and let the fire guide me to Hell.

“You’re mine, Sauder. You said it. The fucking curse can’t have you. I don’t share.”

This is the longest review I’ve ever written but I had so much to say about this MASTERPIECE. I’ve given 5 stars to only five books this year, and if I had to rank them, this takes the number one spot.

“I’m not chasing death anymore because I’m chasing him instead.”

Oh this book was good. Like cant-stop-thinking-about-it good, definitely becoming a part on my top-reads of the year list. 💥

After devouring the first book of this series, Sick Bargain, I couldn't wait to read more from the Vile House and the Vile Boys. Ghost (Soren) intrigued me from the beginning, being the brother of Remi and therefore fighting the same curse, always on the edge of death and seeking danger. He is the perfect narcissist, which makes an explosive combination with Riot (Killian) being a psychopath 🖤😏

Both men are deadly, intense and dark. Their chemistry is undeniable, both of them drawn to each other with no chance to fight it.

This author has an unique way to write these kind of books, which is both captivating and consuming and I am so here for it.

I honestly cannot wait to read more and I am counting the days until book 3 😍😏

Nordika Night demands my attention when reading. She keeps me there, reading and rereading a sentence or paragraph until I get it. Until it's understood, until it immerses me in the story. What can I say? This book was a monster, so many things happen and so many darker things promised to come. These two messy men fighting their roles til the end. Both commanding being on top, never yielding. Tears were shed.
I loved it.

Thoughts as reading:
🛑✋May be spoilers.

Somewhere along the way I chose sides. Can I just say that I'm team Riot.
✨All star status for chapter 28 alone.😢😢😢
It friggin broke me🖤
@80% Can we please move on from all the macho "who's the bottom" as if it's derogatory and being the top is the 'manly' thing. Can we get past all that? It's way cooler if all the boys are secure enough to be who they are and enjoy what they like without all the ribbing. Jeez, they are friggin killers, gods in a sense, this is so beneath them. 👎Points off.

*Overuse of the phrase 'hellhound nipping at his feet'.

Spice: 3/5 🌶️
Characters: Ghost and Riot

There is something so incredible about this series, these boys. Each book has been so easy to just sink into and escape into their world, their town. It's creepy, beautiful, addictive.

I went into this one expecting to love it, basically knowing that I would. And I did, even more than I expected. Nearly 500 pages and I wanted 500 more, at least. I never wanted this story to end. I didn't want to leave this world or this group of boys.

There is action, death, passion, love (in their way), found family, and atmosphere for days. This would be so incredibly perfect if it were turned into a tv show.

Ghost and Riot are so incredible together. The true epitome of volatile and vulnerable. They go at each other as much as they are soft with one another. They need the contrast of harsh and soft to make sense of everything and all of the emotions they end up feeling for the first time in their lives. And my god is it insanely addicting and stunning as it plays out.
The contrast is one of the reasons why enemies to lovers is my ultimate kryptonite. The push and pull, the hard with the soft, and the moments where walls crumble and vulnerabilities shine through. It pacts a huge punch and makes the softer moments have a bigger impact, for me.
These two had some seriously sweet moments. The book is dark. The story is dark. The boys are dark. Honestly, I also laughed several times because they both have an ego the size of Texas and are pretty hilarious about it.

This was a million stars for me. Another perfect addition to the series and I am impatiently waiting for the next one.

Welcome Back to Moros, Population: Deranged and HOT 🔥🔥🔥

If your idea of a good time includes psychosexual dominance battles, found-family trauma bonding, and necks getting snapped like twigs at a summer camp... congrats, you’re home. You belong here. Welcome to Vile House

Let’s talk Ghost and Riot. These two? Certified menaces. Just two barely-contained murder puppies trying to figure out if they want to choke each other out or make out (spoiler: YES TO BOTH).
Their inner monologues are soooo good. Poetry written with a combat knife and severe emotional repression. It’s giving: “I'm not in love with him, I just want to destroy him in veeery intimate ways.”

The Vile Boys as a family? Peak dysfunction. But in the sweetest, most stabby, ride-or-die way. All of them bound by something deeper than just violence and trauma; pure, feral loyalty. That bond shines through even more in this book. You can tell they’re a real unit. When one of them falls, the others are already there, either to catch them or burn the world down in retaliation. Real love -- with a lot of murders.

This book also hits deep. Beneath the blood-soaked surface and unrelenting tension lies a meditation on fear, trauma, and how we build emotional bunkers just to survive. And by “bunkers,” I mean full-blown Gothic mansions of denial, decorated in rage.

And the hints we got about Menace and Cain??? I swear, if they don’t get their own unholy slow-burn bloodbath of a romance, I will riot. (No pun intended.)

Also, someone tell Nordika to STOP TEASING US with Kyd and good old doctor Axel, unless she’s prepared to deliver a full, unhinged, kinky age-gap masterpiece. We deserve it!

Neck-snapping as love language? ✔️
Brooding boys with god complexes? ✔️
Gothic vibes? ✔️
Emotional devastation wrapped in beautiful prose? ✔️
Did I consider tattooing “DIRECTOR” on my right asscheek? Also ✔️

A huge thank you to Nordika Night for this ARC!

*sigh*

I loved book one… I’m at 32% so far and I’m not enjoying myself.

So much internal monologue from characters who can’t stop talking about how great they are. Granted we were warned they were narcissistic, but it’s giving me the ick.

At this point I don’t find anything attractive about either of them. Certainly not their personalities, not their looks because all I know is that one of them has blonde hair but I couldn’t tell you which one.

Anyway, there was a tiny hint of possessiveness, so I will definitely keep going for that alone.

Well….for being “possessive” I found it strange that they let a 3rd person join in at 42%.

You’ve got to be kidding me…spit as lube, basically no prep, & then a forceful ramrodding. This is the most unsexy sex scene I’ve read. Whew, MY hole hurts after reading that.

I can already tell that this particular book isn’t for me, but I’m going to keep reading it anyway because of the on going plot through the series. So just kick back and enjoy the commentary, but don’t take any of it too seriously from here on out.

Okayyy chapter 22, I see you with the hand holding and a goodbye kiss. *mini swoon*

Finally some action… and a little torture.

Ugh, not again… “I start to argue. He fucks me instead. Abruptly and without enough prep.” Justice for Ghost’s a-hole, at this point.

Ghost is genuinely insufferable. Riot is only a smidge better. The side characters are the real mvp in the book. The town lore is still interesting, but something seems a little off compared to the first book. I love the Lockan storyline. The face reveal scene was cute.

The declaration of love is by far the best scene in the book. Awe, shite. I spoke too soon. Now they’re beating each other up again.

We made it to the end! A good 40% of this could’ve been an email. Lots of repetitive internal monologues, little actual dialogue. Kind of a confusing couple. One minute they were romantic and the next they were self centered and punching each other. And not in a sexy way.

Would I read it again? Not ever. Will I keep reading the series? Hell yeah.

Y'all...this book? Absolutely feral in the best way. Fragile Facade is book 2 in the Vile House series, and trust me, you need to read these in order...not just for the chaos continuity, but because every book builds on this wicked, cursed world that Nordika Night is masterfully weaving.

This is Ghost (Soren) and Riot's (Killian) story, and oh my god what a ride. Narcissist meets sociopath, and somehow it’s the most unhinged, romantic thing ever? These two are volatile and sharp-edged, yet there are these gut-punch moments of vulnerability that snuck up on me and wrecked me.

Their dynamic is power plays, emotional warfare, and obsessive devotion wrapped in danger and curses. One minute they’re circling each other like loaded weapons, the next they’re kissing like the world’s ending...because maybe it is? Maybe they’ll help end it.

Ghost is haunted by the Sauder curse and desperate to outrun it. Riot? He doesn’t just refuse to save him, he drags him closer to the edge, just to see if he’ll fall. It’s twisted, toxic, obsessive… and weirdly tender. Like they only know how to be soft by bleeding first.

These two are the embodiment of volatile chemistry: they bruise with their words and beg without ever saying please. It's dark, and yet somehow still intimate. Riot is chaos weaponized, and Ghost is already half broken when the story begins. Watching them unravel each other is addictive and painful in the best way.
I meet his grey eyes, watching them swirl with the same confusing clarity I’m feeling. “Oh, for fuck’s sake. It happened, didn’t it?” he asks. “What?” I narrow my eyes on him. “This. We became a thing.” “We’re not a fucking thing.” But I don’t pull back, and I think I might crumble if he takes his hand away. “We’re just…” “… in case? Just in fucking case, Soren.” He leans in, lips brushing mine in his usual ‘just in case’ kiss.
Reaper Corp is circling, the tension’s mounting, and I can already feel the heartbreak brewing in future books. I’m not ready, but I need it. Facts is next and I'm already holding my breath. By the time we get to Ransom and Monster's book, I think it will ruin me (In the best way)

Dark romance fans, this series is your poison. And it goes down so good. Trigger warnings apply. Read them. And then dive into the dark.

**I received a complimentary, advanced copy of this book from the author and this is my voluntary, honest review.**

‼️CHECK YOUR TRIGGERS PRIOR TO READING‼️

Woo that was a ride.

Ghost and Riot their tagline "When Volatile Meets Vulnerable" is spot on. These two were so freaking explosive and angry but when they let themselves be gooey with each other it was melty goodness. "Just in case" yeah I'm just in tears, jfc.

I still think I like Krypt and Remi's story just a bit more. I'm not sure why other than Krypt and Remi were both a bit more broken than Ghost and Riot. I'm a sucker for broken boys.

The plot was plotting. I have so many questions and not enough answers. There's so many things at play and I'm impatient and need to know now. The main question I need answered is if Kyd ever finds Fabrizio. That's a duo for the ages.

Facts is up next and I will be waiting impatiently for his book. I just know Facts is going to break my heart.

“Just in case…”

HOLY SHIT. This is one of the best books I have ever read. I thought Sick Bargain was amazing… it has absolutely nothing on this. Killian and Soren were one hell of a couple.

Let me start by saying, I had absolutely no expectations going into this book. It was my 2nd most anticipated read of 2025 but my most anticipated read was an absolute let down (Kiss the Villain) so I was nervous for this one. Yeah no, this exceeded my expectations.

So, I probably should’ve re-read Sick Bargain before starting this but I’ve been so busy with finals I hadn’t had the chance too… so at the beginning I was so confused what was happening but just went along with it. As I continued reading, more and more pieces fell together and made sense and I was starting to remember more stuff from Book 1.

This book is so much different then Book 1. I noticed that this one is more plot focused and less relationship focused unlike Sick Bargain. Also this book dived deeper into the whole Reaper Corp shit and let me say… YATES I HATE YOU. I don’t want to spoil why I hate him but… you’ll find out.

This book has consumed me in the 48 hours I’ve been reading bits and pieces of it. Thursday, one of the days I was reading it, I was eating Mozzarella Cheese Sticks when the scene with riot and reaper corp happened and normally stuff like that don’t make me nauseous but I was so heartbroken over it that I got nauseous and had to put down my food, which has literally never happened to me before because stuff like that doesn’t trigger me. That’s how good this book and the writing is, you connect with the characters so much and can feel everything they were going through.

Also I can’t forget to mention the whole “Just in case…” thing. It was SO SWEET ❤️ I might always associate those 3 words with Killian and Soren

Overall, this book was absolutely amazing. Kind of regretting this wasn’t my most anticipated read of 2025… it should’ve been as this absolutely exceeded my expectations. Anywho, you NEED to read this book. I’m actually so passionate about this series and book I don’t think i’ve ever written a review this long. If you’re friends with me you should know most of my reviews are 1-2 sentences at most… yeah no I could go on talking about this book for days! It was that good

A five star rating is simply not enough stars to give these boys and NN. This book was a work of art. An absolutely incredible, wild, twisted ride. I’m not ready to hop off the Vile Boys train yet, and you can’t make me.

I’m a big believer in right book, right time. And this? Just hit me right where it needed too. I’ve been anticipating this release for months, and it didn’t disappoint. Nothing Nordika writes ever does. Let’s see if I can give you a bit of a breakdown. I won’t spoil any plot lines for you so this will be purely based off vibes and feelings.

Also, as always please check your TWs before reading as some subjects may be triggering for you. These boys are VILE. It’s in the name. There is no world in which these boys live out a beautiful, peaceful HEA without a ton of toxicity, and we wouldn’t want them to anyways.

The Ghost of Moros, and Riot. These two live, eat, and breathe toxic. They’re stuck in a bargain together, and the one thing they’re both chasing? That two second space between life and death. Ghost wants to laugh in deaths face and break his families curse, and Riot? Well, he wants to help him get there.

These two were spicy as heck, don’t get me wrong. A lot of it was maybe due to the pure hatred and loathing that they felt for one another, trying to see how far they could push the other to cracking (see: jealous, possessive killing and then f*cking on the dead body 😂) but when the spice hit?! It hit. Just right. And just right for Ghost and Riot and their “friendship”(?) feels weird to call it a friendship but by the end I really did get a friends to lovers vibe from them.

There were sweet moments, moments that made me tear up. Hand holding, making love (YES LOVE!!) and 90 seconds. Even a saying they use instead of telling one another how they actually feel, but I don’t want to spoil that for you because it’s beautiful to experience. Tattoos for one another. And beautiful music they created to say everything they couldn’t out into words.

I’m in awe of this book if you can’t tell. There’s a lot of really messed up layers to uncover, as well as some separate plot lines that I’m excited to discover more of.. FACTS?! KYD?! MONSTER?!?!? I’m living on borrowed time until these boys are back in my hands.

Funny moments between brothers, talking about feelings like they know what they are. Love? What’s that? Kyd has a pet. 😂 and an obsession. Lock, a mystery. Director? Tired of everyone’s sh*t. Monster, my broken boy.. I love him. I just love it here. I never wanted this book to end.

I put it off as long as I could, but I did have to find out how it ended, and it’s now my top read of 2025. Absolutely phenomenal. Please do not read FF before reading Sick Bargain first. You need the info. Thank me later 💜🩵

6⭐️ READ .

One month before Fragile Facade came out I predicted that Ghost + Riot would take over Atticus + Reid as my favourite Nordika Knight couple. I STAND CORRECTED. This book is everything and more.

If I had to pick one quote to summarise Killian and Soren it would be this one.

“𝐈𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐜𝐮𝐝𝐝𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐫 𝐢𝐬 𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐞 𝐝𝐨𝐰𝐧 ... 𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐥𝐲?“

6 STAR READ . BEST OF 2025.

NORDIKA KNIGHT . THAT’S IT. THAT’S THE STATEMENT.

GHOSTRIOT??!?!?!?!!?!?1?

EMOTIONAL DAMAGE

The teases we got of these two in sick bargain were scrumptious. BUT FRAGILE FACADE ?!?!? GHOSTRIOT DID IT FOR ME EVERYTIME!!!!!

OK now onto the review.
⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️ SPOILERS ⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️ SPOILERS ⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️

𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐑𝐀𝐂𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐒

GHOST/SOREN.

“I’m broken… Why can’t i be whole like he is? Why does no one want to fix me?”

Soren is everything.

Soren is such a complex character. He is broken , confused, misunderstood and vulnerable but also so full of surprises. Like his dad would say he is not your typical narcissist. He is also kind , caring, hard to believe at times - but selfless and loving in his own unique way.

“You brought Killian a smoothie”
“And soup,” I mutter “Fuck, Remi! What is happening to me”

I found him quite confusing at first, like does he want to succumb to the curse ? Does he believe the curse is true? Was saving Remi from the curse for nothing ? But then I realised Soren doesn’t want to die. He likes to tempt death unlike Remi. He wants that “life flashes before your eyes when you die” type of moment. His relationship with death is quite unique, whilst most individuals fear death Soren wants to face it (or should i say her like he would?) it could be because of his narcissism- he wants to prove he is superior to other mortals or to death itself, it could be from his lack of knowledge about death - no one knows what happens when you die, where you go , if your souls departs etc Soren may be looking for answers - a way to settle his mind about the unknown. Either way he doesn’t treat death as this eternal state of being but more so as an enemy, someone who he’s has to settle a score with. Which i find so intriguing. I loved how he was so messed up when Riot was caught. It was the first time we could have pin pointed any real romantic emotion coming from Soren.

“And what if that little bitch is the only one who ever holds his hand?” MIND YOU THIS IS ABOUT A 5 YEAR OLD CHILD 😭😭😭😭

Soren’s need to be superior to his family actually killed me 😭😭 like he genuinely believes it. It’s almost a fear of his- that he isn’t better than his family members who have succumb to the curse.

“Fuck you.” I laugh with him. “I am superior to them! I bet my brain scan proves it.”

I loved every minute of Soren 😩

RIOT/KILLIAN.

Killian is so similar to Soren but so different at the same time. Whilst he has a god complex , is egotistical and lacks remorse he is also equally vulnerable, kind , caring (possessive) and is so witty ! Killian feels as though he doesn’t know who he is. He explains that he has so many masks/facades that he almost can’t differentiate between real and fake. My only issue with this is that by the end of the book Killian seems to have found himself as he is able to enjoy and recognise the meaning in his music but … it’s quite sudden. It’s like he kept saying he doesn’t know who he is and then boom he’s able to play without caring that anyone is listening. It wasn’t built up as much during the book as I would have liked.

“They don’t even realize how fragile all my facades are.”

He is completely immersed in his role as a vile boy and outside of that is a complete mystery. We see this after he is tortured and his vile tattoo is destroyed. It devastates him , he has lost the largest part of his identity and doesn’t know how to show it.

“Especially because Riot is the kind of person who needs visual reminders of who he is, and his tattoo has always been his anchor. Now it’s his downfall”

Killian is incredibly insecure which is kind of wild given his character. However, every time he fell apart Soren was there to put him back together again and it was so cute.

One of my favourite scenes perfectly depicted this.

“You don’t need them. Not with me.” His nostrils flare and his cheek muscles feather. “I need them. With myself.” I shake my head at him, holding up his Vile House mask. “This is Riot. You. Killian fucking Hallows.” I show him the white and black, the opposing shades that mark him as who he is. “It’s the only mask you need.” He looks at it, trying to accept my truthful words, but his eyes dip downward and he shakes his head in my grip. “I… fuck, I need the ninety seconds.” “No, you don’t.” “Don’t fucking look at me right now.” “Fine.” I grab his wrist and twist, locking his arm behind his back and spinning him to face the mirror. “Then look at your fucking self. Look, Killian! Look at who you fucking are.”

ITS PERFECTION.

AND LETS NOT EVEN TALK ABOUT KILLIAN CREATING THE ‘JUST IN CASE’ FOAMING AT THE MOUTHHHHHHHH.

“The fuck was that for?” His fingers trace my jaw before falling away, the black eye I gave him staring at me. “Just in case it’s my last chance” he says. 🥰

EVERY SINGLE ‘JUST IN CASE’ ATE DOWNNNNNN !!

Killian is currently ranked my #1 Vile boy. 😩

𝐑𝐎𝐌𝐀𝐍𝐂𝐄

In terms of the romance I’m going to keep it short this review is already long enough. But I love how their relationship was so unique. The way loving each other isn’t mentioned until 85% of the way through but you felt it every time they were together , protected one another , laughed with one another , comforted each other was chefs kiss. Killian crashing out on Soren’s behalf in chapter 41 was magnificent. I wish they let him go further than that. AND WHEN HE ENDED THE CURSE ?!?!? OH SWEET MOTHER MARY. I am in love with these two.

My favourite moments between them have to be

1. ‘Just in case’
2. What I like to call ‘Smoothie gate’
3. Killian referring to killing people for or any time he is with Soren as ‘romance’
4. I need 90 seconds
5. Chapter 37
6. Soren leaving Killian the calling cards with fun facts about himself because he didn’t know how to voice them 🥹🥹🥹

𝐏𝐋𝐎𝐓 + 𝐎𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐑 𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐑𝐀𝐂𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐒

In terms of plot , the story is good. I’m very interested in seeing what happens with reaper corp. I DONT KNOW WHY BUT I AM SUSPICIOUS OF LOCK IDC IDC IDC HE IS FISHY !!! I loved the action in this it was almost movie like. The rankings + group meetings are still as funny as ever and that is thanks to KYD. I swear on everything green on this earth when I get Kyd and Dr. Axels book I WILL BE BIOCHEMICALLY REARRANGED. Dont even get me started on Monster and Ransom ! I FEEL THE FOUND FAMILY LOVE ALREADY AND WE ARE ONLY ON BOOK 2. I AM ON MY KNEES BEGGING THAT WE GET DIRECTOR’S BOOK AND EVEN THOUGH I AM SUSPICIOUS OF LOCK WHY DO I FEEL LIKE HE’S GIVING POTENTIAL LOVE INTEREST. I’m so excited for Fact, I must know why he says hello everytime he speaks ! Each boy sounds like they have such an interesting back ground.

𝐐𝐔𝐎𝐓𝐄𝐒

“Because my heart beats maliciously for his—because of his. Spiteful and cruel. Honest and offbeat.”

“He was closer to the curse than he’d ever been before, and I’m no longer taking the risk. Because I’ve decided I don’t want to live without him.”

“Make me unafraid. Show me you’re still you.”

“We’re just…” “… in case? Just in fucking case, Soren.”

“Music lessons and staying superior to my family. That’s our new deal. Death chasing every other day of the week, yeah?”

“I don’t give a fuck about much other than my pride, but the few fucks I do have go there. And there you are.”

“I could mimic forever for him… Because it’s effortless.”

“Ninety seconds, Kill. I need it with you.”

“Get off,” Soren snips at me, trying to remove my arms. “It’s like you’re pissing all over me when we both know I’m the alpha.”

THIS ENTIRE PAGE . ♾️♾️♾️

“You hate me?”

“Absolutely.”

“You mine?” I speak against his lips.

“Mhm.” Our foreheads roll together and our smiles connect, eyes closed.

“You superior to me?”

“Always.” I lick my lips, wetting his as my nerves grow.

“You love me, sweetheart?” Soren’s fingers dig into my back, making pain scream out. It’s washed away when he whispers,

“Yes.”

Review: Fragile Facade – Nordika Night

After being stuck in a reading slump for so long, Fragile Facade came into my life like a lifeline. It not only brought back my love for reading, but completely pulled me into its story.

Riot and Ghost stole my heart from the very beginning. They’re intense, broken, and real — and watching them slowly fall in love, with all the vulnerability and mess that comes with it, was beautiful and addictive. There’s something about Nordika Night’s writing that feels so raw, intimate, and hopeful all at once.

I loved how the story blends pain, desire, healing, and deep emotional connection so genuinely. Every chapter made me feel something, and that’s what I value most in a book — one that moves you, stays with you, and makes you feel everything.

If you’re looking for a story that not only grabs your attention but also hits you right in the heart, Fragile Facade is the one. It’s one of those books that finds you at just the right time.

✨ Thank you, Nordika, for creating something so special.

There’s literally not a single book by Nordika Night that isn’t an infinite stars. None. This woman has a superpower when it comes to creating characters with layers, flaws, tension, depth, and then throwing them into a plot that grabs you by the throat and doesn’t let go.

I'm obsessed with Ghost and Riot from page one. They’re made to clash, made to explode, made to burn together and the way their connection unfolds is pure dark, chaotic magic. It’s emotional, it's raw, it's addictive as hell.

The plot and Moros is intriguing and totally addictive. I need book three like yesterday, and not just for them, I need to know everything about the Vile Boys. Each and every one. I’m already way too deep into Moros, into the Vile House. The wait for the next book is gonna hurt, but I know it’ll be worth every second.

If you haven’t started this series yet, what are you even doing? Drop everything and start. Just don’t forget to check the trigger warnings. I personally have zero filters and I’m loving it like a kid. Tbh, maybe I love every book this woman writes.

Infinite stars. Again. Always.
Killian and Soren just stole another piece of my heart.

“This isn’t Hell.
It’s not Death’s doorstep.
It’s volatile and vulnerable love with the devil I picked and won to stand by my side.
I. Fucking. Won.”

Where do I even begin… I had been counting down the days for this book and this couple, and even though I knew it would be amazing, it completely blew me away. It went beyond every expectation — it was simply perfect. The plot, the characters, the little details, the writing… everything. Nordika is, without a doubt, one of my all-time favorite authors.

From the very first sentence of the first chapter, I just knew I was going to be obsessed. I knew I was going to fall even deeper in love with these wild, unforgettable characters.

Ghost and Riot? They’re soulmates. Pure fire. Their love story was messy, intense, raw — but so, so beautiful. I felt every emotion right along with them. I adored every single moment, every word, just EVERYTHING.

I would love to express my feelings about the other vile boys (my babies) but it will take me AGES since I love all of them with all my heart and soul. (Kyd, my pink princess I LOVE YOU. 🩷)

Once I started reading, I literally couldn’t put the book down. These were the easiest 5 stars I’ve ever given.

And now… I’m just dying to see what comes next.

I might just love Riot and Ghost more than Krypt and Remi.

This book was hauntingly beautiful. Riot and Ghost’s relationship starts off very volatile. Their personalities clash like nothing else and their ego’s are unmatched.

Both of these characters were so complex and layered. Their chemistry was so intense and alluring. There was so much tension between two people who would normally never even attempt to be together because of how different they are!

I love the plot so much as it keeps you in suspense but I almost didn’t notice it with how all consuming these two were on page. Nordika just has the best talent for writing the most intricate and divergent relationship dynamics. Just…ugh

"just in case."

nordika night COOKED so bad with ghostriot!!!! i genuinely could not put them down because i was so into their insane tension, chemistry, and surprising sweetness. it was fascinating to see killian and soren's transition from rivals who could never stay away from each other to lovers who were possessive as hell of one another and i found myself nonstop giggling at both their volatile and vulnerable moments. also everytime riot called ghost sweetheart i was clawing at the walls of my enclosure i fear WHEWEE killian hollows i need you carnally!!!

anyways fantastic read, fantastic vibes, ghostriot are my faves forever, and im so excited for the rest of the books in this universe.

Definitely my favorite actual on-going interconnected series.

Fragile Facade had so much; it's overflowing with personality from every angle. A new love story in Moros, and more pieces connect within the overarching plot. New characters, new enemies, new alliances, more details about the guys we met in Sick Bargain and who made us fall in love with Vile House.

Riot and Ghost were fire and also fluff. A total volatile-meets-vulnerable. I never quite understand Nordika's tropes until I read the book, and then everything clicks perfectly into place. They brought tears and smiles in equal measure, made me feel proud like a mother, and I loved them so much that sometimes I forgot I was reading a book and felt like I was right there inside it.

A narcissist and a sociopath discover what it's like to love in their own way, and they definitely don't go unnoticed by the reader. Tension, rage, and God complexes collide to form this beautiful book. And as always, Nordika, through her characters, delivers words and phrases we use in daily life and gives them a new, special meaning for the romance she wants to tell us—just in case we didn't have enough emotional damage already.

In my Sick Bargain review, I said the Vile Boys stole my heart, and it's still a yes, Nordika, still a yes.

Another very important and touching part was the music; I can't tell you how much I cried and felt every time a piece was played. Thanks for the links at the end—they made the experience 10 times better than it already was. The connection that can be conveyed through the combination of narration and music is inexplicable.

I can't add more without fear of dropping spoilers for the book. I just want to add that if you're looking for a twisted yet tender romance, pet names, an Italian lion lol, action scenes that won't let you stop reading, every possessive mark imaginable, a smoothie, and salty snacks, then continue this beautiful series by reading this second book.

Special mention to the strong heart of our beloved Director, because if it weren't for that, with so many upsets, he would indeed witness "those two seconds." Joking!! 😂

I'm dying to read the third book. I'm not going to say whose it will be because that's one of the fun things about this series: the mystery. But this character captivated me from his very first appearance. 🥰

Fragile Facade ARC Review:

Ghost and Riot 🩵🤍

What starts as a rivalry between Vile House boys Soren ‘Ghost’ and Killian ‘Riot’ with a game of chasing Death and proving who is superior, changes as they work against the growing threat that is Reaper Corp and find there is more to their games than feeding their own egos.

Just like the story of their brothers in Sick Bargain, this book is intense and filled with violence yet is sweet in unexpected ways. Soren gives Killian a place to drop all his masks and reveal who is underneath all the facades, just as Killian gives Soren the space to show the cracks that he hides from everyone else. The way they fumble with accepting they could possibly need something soft to their volatile ways was a treat to read about with characters like Soren and Killian. I loved the deep dives into their minds as they mulled over their emotions, conflicting with everything they once thought was the extent of what was possible for them. Caring, and even loving, someone else is something neither were thought to be capable of. Doesn’t mean they can’t still be the Vile House boys that they are though! 👏🏻

Coming back to Moros with Fragile Facade built on the love I already had for the Vile Boys with Sick Bargain, and I am so excited to see how this world expands with book three! The overarching plot is thrilling, shocking, enticing, and filled with more Moros lore with each book. I cannot get enough of Vile House!

5/5 🌟

nordika night has done it again! i’m completely obsessed with this book and these characters, nobody writes characters quite like nordika.

riot and ghost are my new favorites, their story is everything! these two are the epitome of volatile yet they were so cute. the chemistry these two have is so intense and captivating and i was so hooked. both of them are such complex characters and seeing them slowly start to unravel each others layers was beautiful! nordika night really knows how to write dynamics, they’re always so good!

the plot of these books has my always intrigued it’s SO GOOD! the mystery and suspense of it all is so well done and i’m so curious of what’s to come.

there’s just something about this series that i’m devouring. and i’m not really a dark romance person but this!! this is fantastic.

i’m so excited for who’s book is next! i’m so curious about them!

Oh that was so good 😭

I knew from the author’s note that Killian and Soren were going to have a softer romance than Krypt and Remi (while still being a dark romance, of course) but I hadn’t expected how much I would LOVE those soft and vulnerable scenes between them — especially when Killian’s first response is “what the f*ck?” closely followed by “wait I kinda like it”.

This plot has me so intrigued and I can’t wait to find out what’s going on with Reaper Corp. There are so many different threads in this story and I am so invested in every single one of them.

AND I’m super keen for Facts’ book next!!

PS I love the final chapters from Director and seeing how he views his Vile Boys. I really hope nothing happens to him in this series 😅
