Dani and Von are on a mission to catch the mind manipulating serial killer that has the residents of Maxwell on edge. a string of bodies, cryptic messages and phone calls sends this female police chief into a spiral. Who can be trusted? Can her heart be trust with Von and can her experienced skills solve this case? Each story in this West Coast Crime series has me as a reader feeling like I am along for the ride solving these cases. Fearless Pursuit teams two rivals together with the same goal of justice. Intimacy. Intrusive. Intensity. Inclusive. YES , YES, YES. Fans of Cold Case or Criminal Minds, will love this heart pacing story.

I loved every bit of Von and Dani's love story. This was a great rivals-to-lovers romance with the perfect amount of intrigue.

The "rivals-to-lovers" trope is a staple in romantic suspense, but rarely is it executed with as much tension and chemistry as in Fearless Pursuit. Ms. Wheatley has pitted traditional law enforcement against the world of private security, all in the backdrop of a chilling murder spree in a town that has barely recovered from the last one.
Chief Dani Miller is a no-nonsense small-town cop who values procedure, community trust, and the weight of the badge. The town of Maxwell has been through it, and they’re looking to her to lead the police department with a firm hand. She does, until she’s faced with countless murders that make no sense. It doesn’t help that she’s constantly butting heads with the owner of Reed Protective Services, a private security firm founded by her father’s rival and passed down through the generations. I loved Dani and Vons story. The feud between the two and the Maxwell police dept. and Vons Security firm adds to the suspense. There is a serial killer loose and it a race to find the killer before there is another victim. I gave it a 5 star because it held my attention and the suspense keeps you on edge. I was surprised at the end who the killer was.

Such a thrilling installment. I'm loving these suspense romances from Denise Wheatley. They're always action packed from the first chapter and keep going to the end. Also, Dani and Von had wonderful chemistry. Love it!

Quick easy read with an intriguing mystery.

As with the previous book in the series, the mystery wasn’t obvious and was the main reason I kept reading. (It’s a hard sell to believe who the murderer is.) I didn’t like the main female character and her abrupt emotional swings. But to be fair, I didn’t like her character in the previous book. For someone who is the police chief she made several accusations with no supporting evidence. I actually felt sorry for Von that he was in love with her. If you have a Harlequin subscription, the books are mailed out early which is how I already have the book.
