This is a really lyrical collection of poems. The voice of the poet really comes through strongly, I could see these doing well on a poetry slam event.
The verse is spare, beautifully constructed, and raw. The poet is not pulling any punches here. There's no hiding behind beautiful metaphor. Voiced Choice is a good example of this:

Some greedy select, given the effect
How I knew you were so unsure.
Times in trying your hand in being
down as single, yet nothing of the sort -
you go on to fathom over why I felt
the need to go so over the top and
along with this altruistic armour

Adam Laws once again reveals he is a master at retrieving his deepest thoughts and putting them on display for all to share: “hitting an all-time lower than low.” There is an abundance of alliteration that challenges the reader to dig a little deeper to fully understand what Adam is saying: “fears fold out so very foul and feverish.” One gets the feeling that Adam may even be hiding at times behind the words he tosses about with ease, not really letting us in, but at the same time, begging us to break through the barriers he has constructed. Throughout this collection, we see people come and go out of Adams life, reminding us perhaps of our own painful experiences.

Adam writes about his personal journey through the perils of relationships, dealing with the everyday problems and looking at one's self by way of the mirror. Adam is a very talented poet.
