This MMF novella was pure heat from start to finish, and I absolutely loved it. The dirty talk was on point, and the touch of degradation took the spice to another level. Despite the high ratio of smut, I still found myself caring about all three characters. I especially enjoyed learning about the history between Connor and Nick, which made their shift from friends to lovers feel believable and satisfying.
The chemistry between Connor, Lila, and Nick was off the charts. Every scene was incredibly hot, but their first moments together as a trio were especially memorable. The story still felt complete for a novella, blending erotic intensity with just enough emotional depth to make it engaging beyond the spice.
I’ll definitely be picking up the other novellas in this series the next time I’m craving a well-done, spicy MMF read.

Lila has invited Nick, Connor's best friend from college, to join them. But when they get to the small cabin, it may as well just be one bed, lol. Things get hot and steamy among the three, and we have a double bi-awakening that's hot. Kristin is great at writing erotic romances with lots of heart and plot. Even though it's a fantasy, it was easy to connect with these characters. Their chemistry was pure fire, and the ending was so happy. I loved it!!.

When the bedrooms were described in the cottage, you knew instantly where this book was going to lead. But it was so titillating to watch it happen and to see the feelings develop in this throuple. I loved watching 'dorm rules' transition to 'vacation rules' to how we make this permanent thoughts. Full of various couplings and positions and just fun sexy times.

It’s a short read, finished in a couple hrs while I was even at work, but I could not put it down! It didn’t real rushed and the sex scenes were….legit lol. If you have throuples this is a given. Hope more people come across this cuz I’m very happy I did!

The thing that appeals to me about the way this author writes is that it feels natural and organic.
The relationships evolve in a way that doesn't feel forced or scripted. It doesn't mean it would necessarily work IRL but it feels like it might if the right variables were there.
The characters pursue fantasy but they also consider the big picture so it just feels more realistic. There is mutual respect and enjoyment in the company as people, not just bodies.
Plus, it is hot AF.

Kristin Lance’s “Vacation Rules” opens with a wonderful build up. Connor and Lila show up at a beach rental to get some away time as Connor is exhausted from work. The small cabin, which looked better in the photos online, is a converted garage that’s been spruced up. But the couple decide to make do and are warming up for their sexy vacation when there’s a knock at the door. Lila has invited Connor’s best friend, who he met in college, to join them. However, there’s only a curtain between their bed and his twin bed next to it where Nick will sleep.
We know from the cover and the subtitle that this is an MMF story, so it’s impossible to spoil what will happen. The trip to the expected destination comes with some unexpected scenery along the way.
Kristin Lance does a fine job drawing out the sexual tension, and I kept turning the pages to see what would happen next. Lila and Connor feel like a married couple (and since this is erotica, they’re both interested in having sex at the same time), and Nick feels like the well-meaning best friend who’s wondering if he should be elsewhere. The non-sex scenes between the three friends are well-handled, and interplay is involving and amusing.

'I'd never known that he'd felt the same way I had, and I wondered if he had fantasized about me the way I'd fantasized about him.'
I really enjoyed this book. It was a fun and sexy romance. Things heat up between married couple Lila and Connor and his best friend, Nick, when they can't keep their hands off each other and one morning, Nick catches them. I loved the heat and chemistry between the three of them. I also enjoyed seeing how emotions got involved between each of them and what it would mean for their dynamic- those thoughts felt rational and mature and well analyzed for a story of this length.
"I'm married to Connor. I love him. But with Nick... it's not just sex. The three of us together— it feels right in a way I wasn't prepared for."
I only wish we finally got to the mm/swords crossing sooner than 60% in, but when it finally happened? Hot damn!
The story did get choppy at times. First it was three days in the too-tiny cabin when Lila and Connor were trying to sneak in sexy times without being caught, but kept getting interrupted. But when they invited Nick to join them, the vacation time was a week. On their last night, Connor wanted to "make it count," but when they were talking afterwards, Nick said he goes back to Seattle in three days. It was very confusing.
Also admitting love was choppy. A couple times it was suddenly said and I was surprised at the admission and excited to see the reaction... but it wasn't acknowledged at all. Later on during a moment of vulnerability in conversation, it was said again, and then there was a surprised reaction as if it was the first time it was said. This felt messy and muddled the impact for me.
But overall a very fun, steamy story with a happy ending. 4 stars.

This was really hot and I loved it. I'm a huge fan of MMF romance and so I've read quite a bit of Kristin Lance's stories. They can be hit or miss for me, though. Sometimes they are smokin hot and other times they lean towards too cheesy or too open of a poly relationship for me.
In this case it was perfect. It had so many tropes I love to see in MMF romance. Best friends who share but secretly harbor an attraction for each other. First time bisexual experience for the guys. Husbands sharing their wives with a friend. All of it was so good.
It's a quickie (about 130 pages), so the story definitely could've been longer. After the vacation we get an epilogue that gives them their HEA. But the ending felt kind of rushed. I would've loved to see a few more chapters before the epilogue.
Still, overall it was great. Hot and steamy and so many of the MMF tropes I love. I will read on in the series.

The story goes beyond the MMF sex! It's mostly about the fright that they all feel in bringing up their feelings to each other. Their first tentative steps, with all the hesitations, we're very believable.

The rental listing implied there was more privacy in their cottage, so things get a bit steamier than planned, and feelings change and grow unexpectedly. Super spicy but sweet and romantic. I wasn’t sure what I expected from this, but while it practically made me ignite, I also awwwwed at the end. I loved Connor, Lila, and Nick! I loved the unexpected balance of the 3 of them. I’ll be reading the follow ups. I really liked Kristin Lance’s style and want to read more. Perfect spice and very sweet! 💜

This was an engaging MMF romance and I love how it unfolded in a way that felt very real...or at least very possible ;) Told in multiple POVs, this well written story pulls Nick into Connor and Lila's relationship with very hot results. Good fun!

A great start to this series Husband's Best Friend. A quick and steamy read. The story flows well, easy to follow. The characters fit well together and have great chemistry. I am looking forward to reading the next installment.

This was a spicy short read - and I love it.
There was enough story around the sex to keep it interesting. But it is all about the spice. lol
I liked the slow shift to MM spice. It seemed very natural but Nick was definitely the dominant one.
Can't wait to read the next one.
