This book had potential and just fell short. The story and plot was there, but it just was flat. There were so many instances that felt like things had been erased because they were reacting to something that didn’t happen on the previous scene. How did Logan find out? Cause he was just standing there and knew they were hooking up without having caught them? That’s never addressed. Somehow Julian was “refereeing” Logan and Katrina, or so he tells his friend, Matt. When in actuality, he stood there silently. Then allegedly him and his son had it out?! Things were said, but we didn’t deserve to see it?! Why?!
There is “drama” that is mentioned but never seen. The “malpractice suit” amounted to nothing. It was unclear what Julian allegedly did, and it was never said what the patient did that lead to their death??? The fundraiser just happened. The study that they’re working on is just not explained, what are they looking at besides neonatal? Not came of the woman with pre eclampsia???? It’s like it’s a half cocked book, it’s not finished. There’s no endings to any of the things.
Logan left her for a woman we’ve never seen and yet he keeps coming back to…. WHY IS HE COMING BACK?! It doesn’t seem like he’s wanting to get back together? But also won’t leave her alone???
I should’ve DNF’d when it was 50% and they weren’t aware that she was pregnant. Why was she shocked to be pregnant?! They never used protection or spoke about birth control?? But they’re shocked she’s been knocked up?
80% and he’s upset she didn’t know how he would react when he’s been a nightmare the whole book?? She’s also a nightmare btw.
Honestly, I talked myself into dropping another star.
90% and no one is back together, and we never saw Julian and Katrina work well together romantically or professionally, and yet we’re supposed to imagine they’re getting an HEA with a baby???
Like Logan and Julian’s relationship still makes no sense at the end. “Turned his back on him” but like … he was 15, who raised him then??? Why the weird thing with the dead wife’s sister at the beginning?? WHAT WAS THIS BOOK TRYING TO ACCOMPLISH???
So we jump ahead to a proposal, all through the engagement, project and pregnancy, to the wedding and somehow Logan is the best man?! This whole book is inexplicable because instead of showing us things, the author just tells us it happened.
Lily, the catalyst for the original wedding being called off … made it to this one. I can’t.
“Katrina, a year ago, I couldn’t have imagined standing here with you, making these promises. I was a mess. My life was a mess. But you came in, and somehow, you made sense of it all. You gave me hope when I didn’t think I had any left. You made me want to be better, to be worthy of you. And then you gave me Gabriela, and I knew, in that moment, that my life had finally begun. You’ve changed me in ways I can’t even begin to explain, and I promise, from this day forward, to love you, to cherish you, and to always be the man you deserve. And I promise to be the best father I can be to Gabriela, to raise her with you, and to give her the best life we can possibly give her. I love you, Katrina. More than anything.” …. His son, the one that called off the wedding to Katrina is his best man and standing right beside him … ok, Chris Pratt, close enough. Welcome back!
“Julian, when I met you, I wasn’t expecting to fall in love with you. You were the last person I thought I would ever end up with. But here we are, standing together, and I know, without a doubt, that this is where I’m meant to be. You’ve shown me a love that’s strong, real, and feels enough. You’ve given me a beautiful daughter, a family, a life I never even dared to dream of. I promise to stand by you, to support you, to love you every single day. And I promise to be the best mother I can be to Gabriela, to raise her with you, and to show her what real love looks like. I love you, Julian. Forever.” … These people should not have written their own vows.
“If we have, then I’m okay with that. But something tells me the best is yet to come.” This book was so bad.
I can’t even come up with a headline that’s good enough to qualify for this
immediate thoughts…don’t give a book 5 stars just because you received a free copy of it.. there’s no way this book deserved that many 5 stars ….
this was one of those books I should have DNF’d… first of all. How did he know her name in literally the first chapter whenever “she was just a stranger he picked up outside a wedding”? and then in the next few pages, he finds out her name and that she’s his sons ex…BUT he already knew her name. Literally said it while he was doing her… second of all, there was something g else that bugged the crap out of me but I couldn’t leave a review until I finished and now I’ve forgotten. Thirdly, how many times are we going to mention the research project but never talk about what it actually is? the lack of medical terminology research really showed here. Just because you can write a doctor romance, doesn’t mean you should. It giving the recent seasons of Greys where they are literally terrible books. number 4. who the heck is Mr McAllister? Literally just a random name she called him that wasn’t ever mentioned previously.. 5. how did Logan find out they were together? just skipped over that detail. and then he just basically forgives him in the next chapter. so many details that could have made this an amazing story. it just feels rushed.
When Katrina's world crashes down round her on her wedding day she runs and gets a lift from a stranger who takes her back to his penthouse and they end up having an unforgettable evening. But things get worse the following morning when she realises he's her ex-fiancee's father.
Katrina had left her job in NY before the wedding but won't let that stop her living and applies to all the local hospitals for a new job. When she gets an interview she's delighted till she discovers her new boss would be Julian. With tensions high between the pair can they find a way to work together while trying to resist the feelings growing between them; and can they keep it hidden from his son, her ex?
A fun steamy story, with heated romance, drama, friendship, passion, love and a HEA.

This romance book is going to send an electric jolt through your body when you read this HOT book. WOW the characters Julian and Katrina are going to blow you away. Katrina gets her heart stomped on the day of her wedding by her fiancé Logan when he tells her he is in love with Lily his best friend and calls the wedding off. Katrina runs out of the church and gets a ride from Julian who takes her back to his penthouse. These two have some mind-blowing HOT sex and the next day she finds out Julian is Logan's dad. Then things turn in a whole new direction when Katrina starts working at the hospital that Julian owns. Be ready to read this book in one setting because it is VERY HARD to STOP all because you want to see if Julian and Katrina get together and if Logan finds out. WOW OH WOW I ABSOLUTELY FELL IN LOVE reading this medical romance book.
Katrina's world is torn apart on what should have been the best day of her life when her fiancé tells her he can't marry her because he loves another. Things get even more out of hand when the person she runs off with and has an intimate encounter with turns out to be the father of her now ex-fiancé. This thrilling story is filled with emotional twists and turns that had me all caught up in Julian and Katrina.

Katrina is devasted when she finds out her fiancé is in love with someone else and ends up sleeping with Julian. The fact that he ends up being her new boss and her ex's father complicates the situation and puts them at odds. This story is full of banter, steam and unintended consequences to their intimate times together. I found the plot entertaining and the characters to be well developed and complex. It was an enjoyable read!.

The overall premise has promise. I mean, I did click on it for a reason. However, the fleshing out of the characters and the plot wasn’t realistic. I feel like the author needed to do more research on the medical field and course of action in situations before writing this book.
This is story with the potential of being really good but the time line is skewed and make you look back to check whether you read correctly in the first place. The strong characters you liked at the beginning become watered down because of the lack of a planned timeline or really poor editing or perhaps none. Such a shame!
