Ten Nights To Love

Rate this book
I was never meant to be his.

Enrique Reyes was the uncrowned king—the man of honor, loyalty, power, and unshakable control. Until I forced his hand. Until I became the sin he couldn’t wash away. The regret that would never let him sleep in peace.

He was my childhood savior, my teenage obsession, and now, the husband who would rather watch me suffer than let me in. He swears I destroyed him. That I stole something that was never mine to take.

But Enrique doesn’t know the truth. He doesn’t know that long before I wore his ring, I stopped being his sweet little Rosa.

I hate him for what he made me. He hates me for what I’ve become. Yet behind closed doors, that hatred turns into something dark, something filthy. Because every time he shoves me away, he only pulls me closer. Every time he swears he won’t touch me, his hands are already on my skin.

We have ten nights to survive this marriage. Ten nights before everything we know goes up in flames.

I once dreamed of being his princess.

Now, I’ll be his ruin.

While this book was great on the forefront, especially with the trigger warnings and the explanation of the development between the FMC and the MMC, this book was not it for me. I found myself questioning the story line a lot since there were time jumps without beginning notice and flashbacks without full explanation of when those happened. I will state that the writing style is unique and the story is beautiful. I personally just feel that if the time jumps were labeled, it could help with some confusion.

DNF'ed at 40% so not rating it

I was very excited to read this book after reading the trigger warnings page and the authors plea to give the misunderstood MMC a fair chance

and in theory I should love this book, dark romance, billionaires, mafia, age gap... love them all

but unfortunately this was just too chaotic for me to read without getting a headache and so it's the first book I had to dnf in 20 years.

Personally I feel like the book has too many tropes thrown at it for no reason and definitely needs more editing.

I'm grateful for the ARC opportunity but this just wasn't for me but I wish the author much success in the future

Ten Nights To Love by Isis Melantha was like being caught in a storm you don't want to escape. Twists, turns, chaos, heartbreak — and somehow, hope. I thought I was walking into a simple love story; what I got was an emotional rollercoaster strapped to a hurricane.

Rosa stole my heart from page one. Life didn’t hand her roses — it handed her thorns. But she rises, scars and all, growing into someone fierce, resilient, and impossible not to root for. Watching her strength unfold made me want to cheer and cry at the same time.

And Enrique... oh boy. Let’s not dress this up with ribbons — he’s complicated. He’s the kind of man who loves hard, but hurts harder, leaving wounds he doesn’t always know how to heal. Their marriage wasn’t a love story out of fairy tales. It was a battlefield, with love bleeding somewhere in between.

The story weaves between past and present, between innocence and betrayal, and it’s messy in the way real love often is. There’s pain. There’s guilt. There’s an unbearable tenderness buried under all the mistakes.

What hit hardest was the way memories — lost and found — shaped everything. How healing isn’t clean or easy. How sometimes the person you love the most is the one you have to survive before you can ever build something real.

The writing? Raw, emotional, a little chaotic at times — just like the characters. And honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way. It kept me glued, flipping pages like my life depended on it.

The time jumps — I’ll be honest — felt a little messy, a little confusing at times. Like memories crashing into each other, blurring the past and present. But maybe that's the point — love, like memory, isn’t always neat. It’s wild. It's aching. It's a wound trying to heal itself.

Ten Nights To Love needs a spot on your shelf if you love messy, dark romances that claw into your heart and refuse to let go. Just prepare to be wrecked beautifully.

Thankyou for the ARC — and for the reminder that sometimes, love is less about perfection... and more about survival.

I went into Ten Nights To Love genuinely excited; dark billionaire romances are a bit of a guilty pleasure for me. There were flashes of that glossy, high-stakes tension I was after, but sadly, it didn’t hold my attention all the way through.

Editing and Repetition-
Right from Chapter 1, I noticed the same emotional beats recycled: A good example is the way she thought about her father. I get it, you love him; he’s the moon and stars, but at some point in the same paragraphs and chapters, it was just repetition and rewording the same sentiments

Timeline Whiplash-
The narrative jumps around without warning. In one chapter, you’re firmly in the present; in the next, you’re three days earlier with no signposting. Worse, key plot points contradict each other. We’re told Enrique “cheated on me” in one breath, then “he never once strayed” in the next. It left me befuddled and lost.

Under-cooked Subplots-
There’s a fleeting suggestion of a queer attraction between the Rosa and Daniella in Chapter 9, just enough to pique my interest, yet it vanishes, never to be addressed again. I found myself wondering whether it was cut or simply forgotten.

Character Development-
Dante is supposed to be in his thirties, but he sulks and reacts more like a sulky teenager; his character annoyed me a lot.
Dante’s father, who loomed so large, brusque and dismissive, suddenly becomes doting in later chapters. Which one is it?
Even Rosa was soooooo annoying. She was written to have gotten therapy when she was sick but there was still barely any character development for her.

Clunky, Telling Prose-
There’s a heavy reliance on adjectives. Instead of showing me a vivid moment, I was mostly being told what had happened. I wanted more than page after page of summary.

I really wanted to love this book. The concept is solid, and a tighter edit would have made this into a masterpiece. As it stands, I forced myself to finish, hoping it would find its footing, and it never quite did. If you relish grand gestures and smoky atmospheres and don’t mind some rough edges, give it a go. For me, though, it needed more polish before it could truly shine.

I am grateful I received an ARC of this book for free. This is a voluntary review

We have ten nights to survive this marriage. Ten nights before everything we know goes up in flames!

Rosa was 18 when she married her longtime crush Enrique.. Nothing goes as planned after that and it seems like even though she got what she wanted everything is falling apart around her. She has some memory loss from old trauma and memories are starting to resurface.

Enrique is loyal and honorable and forced to marry someone who he does not want to, his hand is forced and he has to marry Rosa. Rosa was like his best friend growing up.

I really liked this book even though I found it confusing at times because it would jump from the past to the present. Enrique is a jerk to put it mildly toward Rosa and treated their marriage like it was on paper only and did not honor his wedding vows. There is a love triangle between the mmc and his brother also (you will have to read to see what I mean) not involving of fmc.

While Rosa was in love with Enrique she could no longer stay and be around him because it hurts to much. There is a big argument with her family and she leaves early for college and starts going through allot to put it mildly. While away at college she made some really good friend who were a great support system. Being away from Enrique also allowed her to harden herself toward him.

Fast forward and she is home from school on a break and Enrique starts seeing Rosa in a new light. Tensions run high and the chemistry between the two was electric! Rosa has no interest in entertaining Enrique and has other plans for him:) Will Enrique be able to get her to give him a chance or has there been to much damage for the relationship to recover? You will Have to read to find out.

This book? Addicting. I couldn’t put it down. Ten Nights To Love is a dark, emotional whirlwind with more twists, turns, and "wait, WHAT?!" moments than I ever expected—and I was living for it.

Rosa is a standout character. At first, she’s this somewhat naive girl, but life doesn’t go easy on her—and she grows into someone fierce, resilient, and impossible not to root for. Watching her transformation was one of my favorite parts of the book.

Then we have Ricky… Listen, I won’t sugarcoat it—he’s an absolute asshole sometimes. But he’s also deeply obsessed with Rosa and carries so much pain and guilt it practically leaks off the page. The tension between them is intense, and their dynamic is messy, toxic, heartbreaking—and yet, you get it. You feel it.

The writing? Beautiful and emotionally charged. I’ll admit there were moments where I felt a bit lost or overwhelmed by everything happening, but it didn’t pull me out of the story—in fact, it made it even more of a wild ride. I kept flipping pages needing to know what happened next.

This was my first read from Isis Melantha and I can already tell it won’t be my last. If you like dark billionaire romance with emotional chaos, layered characters, and a story that keeps you guessing until the last page, you need this one.

Huge thanks for the ARC!

I got this book as an ARC, which I am very thankful for. My opinions on the book and the story are my own.

I really really really wanted to love this book. There blurb, the premise and the PR on socials really called out to me and promised everything I love in a book. Unfortunately, it was not for me. Maybe it is simply because English is not my first language, but I have to admit i was confused a lot when reading it. The story jumps around a lot in timelines, which I knew going in because it was in the author's note, but I really wish the jumps were clearer because it was confusing to me.

I have to say, the writing is really unusual and unique, and even though it demanded A LOT of brain power for me to understand at times (but once again, second language and all), I really enjoyed it most of the time.

The plot (as much as I've read) was really promising and the characters had a lot of potential, although some relationships go between hot and cold in the blink of an eye, which can once again be confusing. I think my main issue with this book, and the reason I wasn't able to finish it, is just that it needed a bit more editing to really shine. I will probably pick it back up at some point to finish Enrique and Rosa's storyline, but my brain needs a break at the moment.

Once again, a huge thank you to the author for providing me this ARC.

I’ll be honest I struggled with this one, the tropes and or for the book drew me in instantly, I’m glad I finished it but the first third/half of the book was a push and even in the end I’m not sure how I feel.

The phrasing of words kept throwing me in the character dialogue, the scene setting around the talking was fantastic.

I feel like there was a lot happening all of the time and maybe there was too much to squeeze into one book for these main characters, perhaps it could have been a novel with a bonus novella before book 2 is released.

There was a lot of jumps in timelines and sometimes that was disorienting, the memory flashbacks were exactly that and none of them forming full memories and I feel like if I had been enthralled from the beginning it would have been enticing but instead I found myself either confused, frustrated or annoyed - I know they were part of the story building leading to the revelation of Roasa getting her memory back.

The parts I love was Rosa becoming the villainess in her husband’s story, Ricky realising his love for his wife and even embracing her hatred.

There were a lot of twists and turns and ultimately I am glad I finished the book, knowing more of this world is coming gives me hope for this series.

You don’t play with me ever, Enrique. Why?”—that line stuck with me more than I expected.

Ten Nights To Love is so much more than a steamy romance; it’s a story about loyalty, family bonds, and those unexpected emotional punches that catch you off guard. I went in thinking I’d get classic tension and spice (which it absolutely delivered), but I found myself deeply invested in the characters’ personal struggles and growth. The banter was sharp and addictive, the MMC gave us peak grumpy-but-protective energy, and the FMC? A fiery force who knows exactly how to challenge him. It’s packed with tropes I love grumpy x sunshine, forced proximity, touch-her-and-die vibes, and just the right hint of enemies-to-lovers chaos. One scene in particular (no spoilers!) had me flipping pages like my life depended on it. My only minor critique would be a slight pacing dip in parts, but overall, the emotional depth and character dynamics made this an unforgettable read. Ten Nights To Love is perfect if you’re craving a layered romance with tension, heartache, playful moments, and a love that feels truly earned. Solid 4/5 stars and definitely a story that’ll stay with me for a while.

The story has everything a dark romance should have: a tragic and doomed love, on the borderline between love, obsession, and hate, with settings and situations that are always on the edge.

Unfortunately, however, it didn't particularly impress me for many reasons:

Lots of repetition: I understand Rosa's love for her father, and I find it sweet, but it doesn't need to be repeated so many times. Or the way Rosa describes Enrique. Always the same.

The billionaire subplot is there and it isn't there, or at least it doesn't make a difference, which is a shame because it was one of the things that interested me right from the start.

I often found the dialogues forced, and many times I struggled to understand the time period we were in, finding the structure of the book confusing.

Also, so many things happen. So many! And some of them remain superficial or have no real impact on the protagonists.

And Rosa and Enrique... I found her unbearably well written, while he... Bland.

I'm sorry because it had all the makings of a great dark romance, but I'll give the second volume a chance, hoping for improvement.

I would also like to thank the author for the copy.

2.5 stars (I really wish Goodreads would let us have at least half stars...)

This ARC was my first time reading this author's works, and unfortunately, while the premise, blurb, and social media PR really hyped it up well, it ultimately fell flat for me. There are several plot aspects that came out of nowhere and it was often difficult to understand the message the author was trying to communicate/follow what was happening. However, I look forward to reading the other books in the series to find out what happens to Enrique's twin Dante and their sister Esmeralda because their stories are bound to be just as wild!

Ten Nights to Love gets quite dark and the spice is spicing! Everybody's pretty much an asshole, but some of them have very valid reasons at times. They're also all chaotic af. But everyone eventually lightens up towards the end of the book. 😉 Plus, there's a HEA for Rosa and Enrique, which I always enjoy. I also really appreciate it when an author provides a playlist because you know I love to have a soundtrack when I'm reading!

I received this as an Advanced Reader Copy***

The blurb, the PR and just everything about this story was calling to me! I just couldn’t get my head wrapped around the relationships between the characters because it was hot and cold for some of them and just a lot of back and forth emotion that it was hard to keep track of. The flow was hard to follow also with some of the flashbacks. There were some elements that I feel were put in for wow factor because they didn’t entirely fit with the story. I know I will eventually finish this book because I HAVE TO KNOW how their story ends but it needs uninterrupted focus for me to be able to keep track of everything. I will say that the spice is really good and for the most part this book is well written, I just do not click with the characters that much and it absolutely breaks my heart. If you do give this a read it has a good story behind it but just be prepared to focus hardcore to keep track of what is happening.

So this book had so much potential. It started out wonderful. I love the story, but there were some things at the beginning that just sent me off wrong. I feel like this book was wrote by three different personalities. The first part hit me as a beginning writer like some of the love scenes talking about her holes turned me off right there also not everybody hiccups when they cry. There was just so much going on in this book so much happening at one time you couldn't focus too much where you needed to be. I feel like this could probably be split up into another book but all the time I just felt like I didn't know anything that was going on and I didn't find that as a positive. It wasn't like a turn for the best. It was just the unknown always happening., with that being said this could be an epic love story. I just feel like all the personalities that wrote this book. Need to get together and make it that way.

• ARC Review •

I was beyond excited to read this after stumbling upon the PR on Threads, and got offered the opportunity to be an ARC reader. I’m always looking for new authors to follow and having never read anything from this author before, I had high hopes.

Unfortunately, I had to DNF it. In theory, this should’ve been right up my alley. I love dark romance, love the mafia and age gap trope, but I just couldn’t force myself to continue reading.

My main issue was that the story didn’t quite make sense to me. It jumped quite a few times, even within the first few chapters. There also seemed to be a major information dump on everything - from her family, to his family, to the will and what that entailed. I felt like I couldn’t keep up and had to reread certain paragraphs multiple times just to understand it.

Nevertheless, I’m thankful for the opportunity and while it wasn’t for me, it may be for others. I wish the author all the best in their future work! ☺️

* I was chosen to be an ARC reader for my honest opinion of this book.

This is a hard review for me because as much as I enjoyed some parts of this book, I had a hard time getting interested and continuing to read at the beginning. For the first 100 or so pages, I honestly probably would have stopped if I wasn’t an ARC reader and trying to complete the book for that reason. This novel took a long time building plot and working up to the “exciting” sections and I frequently found myself confused as to timing, as there were a lot of skips in time in order to complete a very thorough back story.

Were the spicy scenes spicy? Yes. I did enjoy a lot of the author’s writing when it came to the intimacy between the FMC and MMC, which came close to redeeming this novel for me. I think others would enjoy this read, even if it wasn’t quite for me!

3.25 Stars.

I really loved the premise and prose of the book. The spice was definitely spicing. The main issue for me was the flashbacks/time jumps. Sometimes it wasn't always clear what was going on and then it felt like piecing it together took extra focus when perhaps that wasn't the intent. Unfortunately, it did detract from being in the story for me.

Overall, I did enjoy the characters and the emotions that came through in the writing. Rosa's emotions in particular were palpable on the page. Chaotic at times? Sure, but I think the chaos lent credence to the emotions - haven't we all felt that way sometimes?

I would reread this because I do think a reread would give the story more oomph now that I know what to expect. I have read Isis Melantha before and enjoy the writing of the author. I would also continue with this series when the next book comes out!

I truly wanted to like this, I really did, I even pushed myself to read it up ubtil the end, but lord, I couldn’t.

In theory, it should have been right up my alley, it’s a dark billionaire romance, it’s got an age gap, very Spanidh maria type thing, but I couldn’t. It first needs sime editing, it keeps jumping timelines which was super confusing throughout, it has waaayy too many tropes, hard to keep up with them, quite a lot of the dialogue is unfinished and it’s a struggle to understand where and why some characters don’t get along really, and I genuinely think that it could have been shorter.

I received an ARC of this book, and I applied with the knowledge that it is something I read, so this has been my unfiltered, honest review.

**ARC REVIEW**

What a journey. This book is a TRIP. A hurricane of emotions, passion and chaos. A telenovella in book format. I tried to explain this book out loud at one point and it was a struggle. So many twists, turns and side details. I actually said at one point, "You know screw it; you just gotta read this. It'll blow your mind"

This was a cathartic, trauma purge. Absolute insanity. The mental war-fare, the pain, the anguish. Two nuclear MCs each with a hidden agenda seeking to find answers, and heal wounds.

I relished in the chaos, complexity and absolute mind-fuck that was this book. I lost track of the number of "holy shit" moments I had while reading this.

Thrilling and freaking hot. Highly recommend this one for dark romance readers that love a book that will take you on a journey.

DNFed at 50% I don’t know what I have been reading till chapter 18. It’s a dual timeline but it was very confusing to keep track. Too much happened in no time for it to settle down. I did not like the MMC at all. It’s all the bad things happening at the same time and left a mess to understand for me. I received this as an ARC and I was very excited by reading just the synopsis. However, from marriage to alleged cheating, miscommunication and wrongly portrayed morally grey (I don’t know what others considered morally grey) it was not my cup of tea ! The MMC was just flat out a-hole and the FMC was very immature.

3.5 stars for me, i put 4 bc i round up not down! And i have hope for book 2!!!

Read your triggers.

This book is twisty, turny, chaotic and beautiful. The story takes off and leaves you holding on for dear life.... kind of like the boat in Willy Wonka.....There is no earthly way of knowing...which direction we are going...there are a few directions the book tries to take you on, and the time jumps are a bit to work thru, but stay with it!! It's worth it!!! I was very happy to have received this as an ARC reader!!

I had a hard time getting into this book. I wanted to love it so badly, especially because I know how much work, blood, sweat, and tears goes into a book, but it just wasn't hitting the spots for me. While the character development and the spice was great, the storyline, the flashbacks, and timelines were a little confusing at times. This was my first time reading a book by this author and I was given the opportunity to ARC read it, which I really appreciate. This just wasn't my cup of tea.

Arc Review!

the writing style wasn’t for me. i understood the jumps in the story and why they were placed where they were. it just seemed like there was a lot going on and i was constantly reading back to try and understand what just happened. there was also saying i didn’t understand that threw me off and kinda of out of the book.

i also thought it was going to go a bit darker, but other than some uncomfortable topics, it wasn’t too bad.

I am really happy that Finally, after ALL that, Rosa & Enrique got their happy ending?! Wow that was a trip to get there! I enjoyed all the details put into this story, it was woven with so much detail! Although at some points it was hard to follow along, I loved this tale!! Their story really shows that, if both of you put everything you can into a relationship & never stop trying (even on each other's worst day) that they can make it through anything together 🖤🫶 And that is a beautiful lesson

Okay, firstly thank you to @isis_melantha for letting me ARC read this copy of ten nights to love. This story Is a dark billionaire romance. This book gripped me from the beginning and kept me engaged. While I loved the FMC the MMC annoyed me at times. That’s not to say this book isn’t good because it is. I do love me a good age gap

This book was a wild ride and is the first to actually make me shed a tear.

Rosa marries her teenage obsession, Ricky, days after her 18th birthday, when his fiance runs out on him. Rosa selfishly agrees to the marriage. But the marriage is not what she expect, he cold and cruel to her, and will not let her in, and in the end all she wants to do is destroy him.

The start of this book is so heart breaking but it slowly rebuilds you. I loved both main characters development and the story as a whole was great.  I did find that some of the story seemed rushed, and the ending felt drawn out. Also because of the age gap between the two main characters their were some lines that were a bit cringy.

All being said i did enjoy this book and is definitely worth a read.

This was my first book by Isis that I’ve read and I must say I did it enjoy it. However, some things were kind of confusing for me, there were flashbacks that kind of didn’t make sense at the times they were inserted and the relationships between characters kind of confused me a bit as well. The writing itself was done very well and the spice plus storyline was amazingly even in my opinion!
