A Scoundrel Through Time: Book three in the Through Time Series

Rate this book
Win the heart of a 19th-century goddess who happens to be my best friend's sister?

Let the fun begin.

For Alex Westcott, time travel was as easy as walking through a door. The perks were top-notch since he could step through a floor-length mirror anytime to visit his best friend, Bradley, who lived in the same castle two hundred years prior. All fun and games aside, time travel came with unseen struggles. The disappearance and search of a fellow time-traveling friend weighs heavily over the years, and he’s the only one who might find her—without any luck.

A delightful distraction comes when he learns his best friend has a newfound sister—a gorgeous one, to be precise. Regrettably, however, Aphrodite holds grudges against Alex due to his dismal first impression. She has all the spunk to keep him at arm's length, no matter how much he flirts.

Challenge accepted.

There is only one her guard dog brother, Bradley.

Aphrodite begrudged her late mother for withholding the identity of her father. She missed eighteen years that she could’ve had with the Earl of Atholl. How could her beloved mother have kept a secret such as this? Once her guardian aunt falls ill, Aphrodite is sent to live with him, allowing her to meet her new family. The change becomes easier when her father and brother, whom she never knew, happily welcome her into their home. However, an unfortunate guest Mr. Westcott, a vexatious yet handsome rake, often lives with them. Why must he always be trailing about, especially during her first Season in London? Why does he behave like he’s withholding a secret? And why couldn’t her heart stop racing whenever he so much as glanced her way?

A Scoundrel Through Time is the third book of a time travel six-book series. It’s a closed-door/sweet romance set in Scotland and London. Triggers are a very small number of mild cuss words and the death of a loved one.

This book is so unique and fun and I absolutely adore it! If you want something that is quirky, sweet banter filled romance, that will have you laughing out loud at multiple points then READ this book! You will not regret it, I promise!

I love how the whole time traveling thing concept, and in this book specifically how the future ties to the past. It starts off with him searching for his lost friend and he finds so much more. It's amazing!

The world building is great, all of the many characters interactions with each other, the dynamics and relationships were so well done, the back and forth between times, and the magic/gifts, just all of it is so good! and it is dual POV and it switches often and I loved getting inside both of their heads.

Aphrodite is the FMC, she is sweet, kind, has a big heart, smart, and a little naive at first but grows as she learns more. She is a fun, lovable character and she finds love with her new found family, the relationship she has with them is beautiful and she learns to get out of her shell. She has more fun and joy than she has known before. Not because her life was bad but because she was a bit isolated it seemed.

Alex is the MMC, he is the time traveler, a major flirt and little bit of a player. Super charming, loves to tease and flirt, and he falls first for sure, so hard he forgets his responsibilities a bit. But he also learns through this to be there for the ones he loves and what it means to truly love someone enough to be with them forever. He is also protective, brave, caring, and sweet when he wants to be.

Their relationship is literally the best thing ever! It was so cute, made me giggle at many points, the banter, the flirting, I am here for it all 🫠 It's a bit of a forbidden love, with lots of tension and reluctance. I can't even put into words how much I enjoyed reading their interactions and blossoming romance.

And even the relationships with other characters, her half-brother Bradley is an amazing character too, the bromance happening between him and Alex is the best. He also steps into the brotherly role so fast and well it's so heartwarming. And there is many other side characters who you will love or dislike.

With it starting out talking about Alex searching for his lost friend I thought it would follow that storyline but that actually got pushed to the side for most of the book which i thought was a little plot hole, but without spoiling it I promise it is not and if that is something that bothers you while reading just please continue, it's worth it. Then the plot twist at the end 😯 wow! Amazing! It wrapped up so nicely and beautifully and left me happy. So overall such a great story!

Content: No-Spice/kisses only, some suggested swearing or almost swearing but no actual curse words, suggestive comments, a character is caught swimming in the nude(nothing is shown or described), a character has a mistress (portrayed as wrong), death of a loved one (off page)

-I give 4.5 stars!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨

~Can two people from different times, have a future... when one is from the future and one is from the past?

“Don’t let fear get in the way of happiness.”
-A Scoundrel Through Time is the third book of a time travel six-book series. It’s a closed-door/sweet romance set in Scotland and London. This enjoyable story has a touch of forbidden romance, a love triangle, and a bit of an enemies-to-lovers dynamic. There is fun characters, humor, wit and banter, and sparks of chemistry throughout this quick but delightful story. Seeing characters let their hearts choose with faith over fear when it comes to love was endearing as well as brave. The small acts of devotion and kindness along the way was lovely. This is a quick but enjoyable story that does have a satisfying ending that comes far too quickly. Yet, is so far my favorite book in this particular series!📚🙌🏻☺️

“I choose you.”

•Content: A very small number of some
suggested swearing or almost swearing but there is no actual cursing, death of a loved one. Man falling in theatre, some suggestive comments, a character is caught swimming in the nude (nothing or described), a small moment of mild peril, some strained family dynamics, some drinking (one character becomes drunk). Kisses only, time travel.

“I choose my heart. I choose love.”

-I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the author. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.

“Always.”

I pretty much devoured this book! I'm usually worried I won't be able to follow time travel stories, but so far, I've loved every book in this series. This one had a touch of forbidden romance, a love triangle, and a bit of an enemies-to-lovers dynamic. Right from the start, Aphrodite is skeptical of Alex's character. Though he's attractive, she sees he's a bit of a flirt, so she tries to keep her distance. But with how close her brother Bradley is to Alex, avoiding him isn't easy. Alex is drawn to Aphrodite, but his life isn't in this time period and she needs to marry someone ready for love and commitment. Despite their best efforts to ignore the undeniable chemistry between them, it's impossible to fight. Can two people from different times, have a future... when one is from the future?

I read this all in one go! It's a "just kisses" romance, but the chemistry is absolutely electric. The story takes you on such a fun journey that you won’t want to miss it.

This was a complimentary book. This is my honest opinion.

This series is so much fun and this book is a perfect addition. It is fun and flirty and Christine Walter does an amazing job contrasting modern day with historical times.

Alex and his friend Angie both received the ability to time travel when they were 12. At the age of 16, Angie disappeared and Alex has spent the last decade looking for her. Along the way he made a friend in 1802. When his friend discovers that he has a long lost sister, Aphrodite, Alex is there to help. Alex and Aphrodite feel a connection. Can they successfully ignore it? Or sweep them off their feet?

Highlights:
The carriage ride with candy 😂
Library encounter
I love when Alex tries to scare his friend with disastrous results

I love Aphrodite because she is brave and loving.

I love Alex for being loyal and kind. I love his sense of humor. I that Alex knows when to flirt and when to stop.

““You speak as though I am your damsel in distress.”
“Well, given that I have carried you twice since we met I think you must wish me to be. Why else would a strong, capable, lovely woman put herself in such situations if not to be carried about by strong men?” I knew I spoke like a fool, but I yearned for her blush.”

This was an ARC, all opinions are my own.

I love this series.

As always the writing of the book is great and I loved knowing more about the magic (or hints of magic) that I am sure will come in future books.

Looking forward to seeing more past characters come together as we explore more of time travel.

This book is my favorite of three out so far!! I loved the romance and the mystery of Angie. It’s always funny how the time travelers bring little bits of the future with them in some ways or another but this one is slightly different, but you have to read it to find out why 😉
