He swiped right. Now something haunts his every waking moment.
Online dating is supposed to be easy. Fun. A way to connect in a disconnected world. But what if the person you're texting… isn’t even alive?
Mark thought he was ready to move on after tragedy. Then he matched with Akasha—gorgeous, mysterious, and looking for something real. Her profile was perfect. Almost too perfect.
And from their first message, strange things began to happen. Burns. Nightmares. Whispers in the walls. Because Akasha isn’t who she says she is. And some connections go deeper than the grave.
GHOSTED is a standalone supernatural thriller that blends ghost story dread with dating app paranoia—perfect for fans of The Ring, Smile, and Talk to Me. A quick, chilling read designed to be devoured in one unsettling sitting.
Ghosted was previously published as MATCH and SOULMATE. This is a heavily revised, tighter version of the same story.
Mark is a normal guy with a normal life until the death of his brother, Josh. It’s bad enough that Mark finds him, dying. It’s even worse when he ruins Mark’s life by breathing a final word, a request to find his killer, “Akasha”. Desperate to find out what happened to his brother Mark sets out to find Akasha. What starts as a Tinder date leads to an understanding that Josh’s last word may not have been a request, but a warning.
This was a short read but man did it have me hooked. I read this in one sitting and am now kicking myself for doing that because the story is over. I want more of it! 😄 I look forward to reading more spooky stories from this author.
When his brother is found dead, in suspicious circumstances, Mark tries to get closure by looking into it. His only clue is a girl's name, Akasha. After tracking her down, his life starts to unravel, as he struggles to find out the truth. Good story, that moves at a nice pace.
Absolutely fantastic! Ghosted is so well written — sharp, intense, and full of momentum. The pacing never lets up, and the story pulled me in completely. William Massa knows exactly how to build tension and deliver thrills. Highly recommend to anyone who loves a great, fast-paced read!
