The writing felt a little amateur-ish, and the story was a bit rushed, but I did like the story, and I liked the characters. I wish there had been a bit more, I felt like the story could've been a lot stronger if the time had been taken to tell the story better, but I did enjoy reading it anyways.

Loved this unique story.
This story may not be for everybody it touches on some really hard topics s kidnapping, rape, torture, and absolute evil. You feel every horrendous thing that happens to each of the girls. I fell in love with Cali to the point where I become so entangled in this story that my heart broke for her.
As Cali agrees to run away with Edwin a sexy stranger who she falls in love with. I believe as they did that it was fate they met because they needed each other. They were each broken but were willing to help each other heal because they loved each other so much.
The ending fit the story beautifully it was open ended but happy.

Beautifully Broken was more than just a love story it was about five girls who have been through major tragedy pain and torture and they stick together no matter what happens. This book is very heartbreaking and touches on some really hard topics (Rape, Kidnapping, Incest, Murder) But the author pulls it together perfectly. This book is not for everyone but I loved it from beginning to end just started Beautifully Damaged cant wait to see what happens.

Wow! Broken is an understatement
This book starts out very different its tragic events take you on a journey of truth and healing. The connection between Cali and Edwin is compelling. They help each other heal as they fall in love. This book touches on some pretty hard topics but the author pulls it off smoothly. Its not for everyone but I love romance novels with heart and soul and this one has it.

Veronica is a murderer. This is where we meet her in chapter 1. She has killed her father and you realize right away something is not right. As I started reading, I struggled with the voice of the character. There is a distinct lack of contractions (I am vs I'm , have not vs haven't) that make the character seem simple minded. As you learn more about the character, these grammatical choices makes sense as she and her "sisters" have been isolated for most of their lives. Where the voice does not make sense, is when we start to get Edwin's POV. He is a successful businessman and should sound more intelligent than this writing style makes him appear.

Veronica (soon to be Cali) and her 4 adopted sisters experience a level of abuse from their father that is shocking. Each girl has their own role to fulfill in his twisted fantasies. There are revelations about Cali's parents, and the supposed adoption of each of the girl, as the book comes to its conclusion.

Cali's bright spot is Edwin (James) who has his own traumatic past. He understands her in a way no on else could. She takes her time/travels with him to check off items on her bucket list. She knows she will be caught for what she did sooner or later. In the mean time, they fall in love, and he helps her figure out her past.

Cali eventually turns herself in and some of the revelations  were unexpected. I would consider Cali and Edwin's story as wrapped up, but not necessarily a HEA. I mean, they only had s€x once, which makes sense since this book really was about Cali's journey to finding happiness and finding that not everything in the world was bad. So, you don't get to see their relationship develop.

There will be further books about the adopted sisters to continue this series.

Loved it (spoiler)

I LOVED the book, but I thought it was a little weird when she kept referring to herself in the third person. I would have like to see a little more one on one time with her real dad before she found out he was her dad though.

DNF 1.5 stars

The storyline or beginning of the plot seemed interesting. But the speech and writing were just too stilted and made it hard to get into.

This has promise, but needs a lot of editing. Not just on grammar (multiple run-on sentences) but also in the storyline.

And it’s always super annoying when the girl wants to spend all her time (road tripping in fact) with this guy, and outright says there’s an attraction between them, but wants to stay “just friends” and then gets mad when other girls flirt with him?? Just dumb.

Dark romance. There's things people don't normally like to read about: abuse, torture and rape. This book has them. If that's not your thing, don't read.

I liked the characters, and I'm interested in more on the family.

Amazing! Need I say more I laughed cried and got excited it was so up and down, I loved the chemistry that builds with the two main characters two very broken people that find and help each other its so beautiful. The ending was unexpected but important to her letting go and moving on with her new life. I loved that it didn't end with they live happily ever after its left open for future book.

Love the story it was so different from the norm right now the editing wasn't the best but that didn't take away from how much I loved the characters and the story. Cali is on the run for murder and Edwin is on the run from him self both running from the same things but they face life together and teach each other that bad things happen but it doesn't have to define them. Such a unique way of writing and ending.

I am in love

I am in love with this book and I'm really ready to read the who series. And in the authors way of writing you can feel veronica and cali's pain. I think everyone should read this book especially any teenagers who are going through a hard time no matter what it is. Cali has so much strength even though everything she endured. It's an amazing read.

Absolutely Amazing

This book was so hard to put down. It was full of mysteries and I could really relate to how the girls felt after being abused for years. I can't wait to read the next book!

Cali's story is enough to break anyone's heart. She was tortured pure and simple from the time she could remember until she kills her father in self-defense. She was kept in the basement as a child until her mother kills herself. Then at age 13, her father starts raping her and eventually beating her in his torture room. He then went on to "adopt" four more girls who he turns into his sex-slaves as well. But he's far sicker than that. He makes them all do certain "jobs" for him or take care of him, all of which is degrading and kinky and only adds to the abuse. The girls become sisters as they all suffer through this house of horrors. The father appears an upstanding citizen and mayor of the small town they live. The girls are all conditioned to accept his torture and trust that no one would believe what happens to them.

Cali runs away scared after her father comes after her and she fights back ending up accidentally killing him. She meets Edwin a man, who has his own secrets, but also who soon shows her there is more to life than the horrors she's suffered. He helps her to live for the first time and realize there is good out in the world. Cali also teaches Edwin some of these same things and he finally is honest about his own tragic life circumstances. Their sadness makes them both empathetic and understanding to the other. It becomes a strength between them instead of coming between them. Cali is still somehow, a kind, caring, good-hearted person. Her strength is illustrated in that she was raised by monsters, but she didn't become one. She broke my heart several times. The ending was a bunch of shocking revelations that are well worth the journey with Edwin and Cali to get to. Well told story and the "voice" the author uses is both unique and effective. Almost simple language shows and tells Cali's broken soul and in many ways makes it more profound to read about. I don't know it all worked together to make an incredible story of horrors... and also healing.
