Won in Goodreads Giveaway.

Overall I really enjoyed this book. There were some really strong aspects to it but there were also a couple things that threw me off.

The whole idea behind the book, the world that it was set in, was original and well developed. There was no way that I would have predicted the events that occured further into the story. That was what propelled me theough the story, I wanted to find out what happened to the characters.

The characters were very well developed and each felt like they had their own personality. It was all conveyed not only through speech, but actions and even the clothes that they chose to wear. It was very impressive.

It was slightly off putting when Tia would get into petty fights with other people in this story. She was so childish that I felt like I could not support her anymore and I would get angry and annoyed with her. Especially when the author gave one of Tia's thoughts a hashtag. It was too far for me and took away from all the good aspects of this book.

The angst and drama between Tia and Adam felt forced. Their arguments and problems could've been solved so easily without all the effort it eventaully took. The jealousy they had of each other was just frustrating.

Tia Jameson has nothing more on her mind than taking care of the neighbor's kids and getting noticed by the cute captain of the basketball team. When the kids climb a tree and suddenly fall to the ground, unconscious, she's worried that they might be seriously injured, but then she passes out too.
This is how an immersive adventure begins, one that involves nanotechnology, warring factions, one of which is intent upon taking over control of the human race, and extremely strange behavior on the part of most everyone she thought was trustworthy or a friend.
Tia ends up running for her life, confused about what boy she really likes and what her parents' role in the chaos and fighting that seems to have taken over her previously predictable life.
This is a very unusual book. It's only the second one I've read and reviewed in the past five years where the story is so strong and readable that it transcends inadequate editing. Teens who like dystopian fiction with plenty of action, mystery and romance will really like this one. I definitely am looking forward to the next book because this ended with one heck of a cliffhanger.

~Disclaimer I received this book for free~

Will I continue this series? No. I won't. Even with the cliffhanger ending I don't care.

The thing is the lead has massive amounts of skills, but she does such stupid things. Theres a love triangle and I am tired of hearing about these guys eyes. She does the whole conflicted I don't know how I feel thing. Its a trope in YA fiction at this point and is too overdone to be done in the heavy handed way this book handles it. The pop culture references feel very forced as well. I liked the short chapters. But the formatting of the book wasn't fantastic. I struggled to read this book. It took me several days to get through it. However, the idea of nanites was interesting. I feel like with some more editing and some drastic changes this book could be pretty good. But there are way too many tropes in this book for me to give it a positive rating.

It makes me really sad that I didn't like this book because dystopian YA with female leads are something I'm a fan of.

The premise of this book is very interesting - an Electro-Magnetic Pulse (EMP) event takes down the grid, except for certain people who are in the know. The story centers around a teenage girl and her family / friends.

Some of the plot was a little unbelievable - the heroine just HAPPENS to have taken serious martial art classes all her life? And be in a family of preppers so she's got some serious gun experience? but didn't know cell phones send trackable signals, even if they haven't been tampered with?! But the writing 'sounds' very teen girl, which was in keeping with the story and made it easier to see the heroine's point of view. I thought the silver eye 'tell' was an interesting addition to the usual EMP / zombie type story.

I'll be interested to see where the story goes next.

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I won this book in a Goodreads Giveaway. I'm torn on how to review it because I went back and forth between liking it and not as I read it. The story is interesting and made me want to keep reading to see what happens, but the main character really annoyed me. I know she's a teen, but she seemed incredibly dense and made no effort to understand what was going on around her. Also, the fandom references sprinkled throughout bugged me. Though I love all the things mentioned, it just seemed forced to seem "cool". All in all it was still worth reading though. Not sure I care enough to read the rest of the series, but if I happened to come across them, it would be nice to know how it all turns out.

I like this book, the ide is intriguing and something that I think might happen. But the stupidity of the main character have put me off reading the next book. I'm still going to read it, but unless this changes I won't recommend it or read book 3.

If the main character is somewhat stupid, it's OK for them to act stupid, but if the character is fairly smart or at least not dumb, there are just things that such character would not do and yet in this book they keep happening. Some of it can be seen as being naive, but that only holds for one or two actions. after that the character would wise up, yet that never happen. The rest is simply irritatingly painful and makes the character less believable.

Hopefully this will be fixed in the next book.

I won this book from Goodreads First Reads.

Reset by Shane Barr is about Tia Jameson, a 16 year old girl who takes a babysitting job over spring break. Things start to get crazy when Tia passes out when the kids she's babysitting need her the most.

This novel has some interesting aspects, and a main character that's easy to relate to.

Reset was a good read.

I love this book so much. I can't wait to read book two. I hope at least she chooses between Adam or Derrick. Maybe then there won't be so much competition between them even though with Adam he don't remember her. Ah! personally I like Derrick a whole lot better. Anyways, I loved this book.

I was a giveaway winner for this book. I thought the overall plot was good and I wanted more detail. I wanted to know what would come next. However the lack of world building left it flat for me.
