When a lonely vampire falls for her dentist, fangs and feelings fly!
Florence Hughes is tired of keeping a low profile to avoid her vengeful ex, she’s ready to start living again… well, as much as the undead can. So when she meets Damian, a handsome dentist with a killer smile, she can’t resist sinking her teeth into him.
Damian Rhodes never expected a routine check-up to lead to a date, yet there’s something about Florence – the sassy goth history buff with a taste for Bloody Marys – that has him hooked. But as their sizzling chemistry deepens, and Damian starts questioning who she is, Florence faces a vampiric dilemma.
Should she tell him the cold hard truth? Or is the best relationship she’s had in over a century about to bite the dust?

Okay so first of all, I came for the vampire romcom. I thought I was getting some cute little bitey romance, maybe a few blood puns, a little drama. What I got was Floss, an emotionally complex vampire queen with a name that sounds like she should be doing TikTok dances—but instead she’s out here shouldering centuries of trauma and falling in love with a cinnamon roll in human form.
Enter Damian. A human. A squishy, mortal, therapy-ready man who does the unthinkable in most romances: he talks about his feelings. Not with grunts or vague metaphors. No. This man sits down, opens his emotional treasure chest, and just shares. I had to put the book down and scream into the void. Who gave him the right??
Floss, meanwhile, is literally undead but somehow the most relatable creature in this entire book. She’s powerful, ancient, probably could snap a man in half (love that for her)—and yet she’s soft for Damian. SOFT. Like “let me hold your emotional baggage while I sip my ethically sourced blood” soft. I’m unwell.
Let’s not forget the supporting cast. They’re not just here for decoration—they’ve got personality, goals, and probably side quests. I’d read an entire spin-off where they sit around sipping plasma martinis and roasting each other.
Now here’s my one teeny-tiny gripe—and I say this with love—the romance moves faster than a vampire on a Red Bull drip. One minute they’re making awkward eye contact, the next they’re practically planning their eternal future and co-signing blood bank accounts. Like, I blinked and suddenly they’re emotionally entangled with more intimacy than most couples achieve in a decade. Could I have used a little more slow-burn? Sure. Did I still eat it up like a midnight snack? You bet your undead booty I did.
Final verdict: 10/10, emotionally wrecked (from the cliffhanger), would let Floss bite me while Damian holds my hand and validates my existence. If you like romance with bite, chaos, and a human man who’s actually emotionally competent (a rarity), this book is your next obsession.
This was my first read by Angela Pearse, and unfortunately, it didn’t leave a great impression. The premise had promise—a lonely vampire falling for her charming new dentist while evading her sire—but the execution fell flat. Despite the dual timelines and alternating points of view, the story lacked originality, depth, and, most frustratingly, a satisfying conclusion. Yes, it ends on a cliffhanger.
The instalove between Florence and Damian was difficult to buy into. We’re told that, for a vampire, years pass like seconds, yet Florence is suddenly all in after a single date. Damian, meanwhile, never quite moves beyond a cardboard cutout of a love interest.
The Victorian London sections were more engaging, but they skimmed over so many intriguing details that I found myself wanting more substance and less surface.
Should I have DNF’d this? Probably. Will I pick up the sequel to see what happens after that cliffhanger? No. I can’t recommend this one.
Just finished reading an advanced copy of a book that is about to be released on June 4th called, Flossed in Love. This was a romcom about a vampire who falls for her human dentist. I instantly loved these characters, Floss was such a strong and fierce vampire, she has been through so much hardship but still chooses to find love and happiness in the world. Damian is a total cinnamon roll, he's so kind and sweet, and he loves being a dentist. Their chemistry is undeniable, you're rooting for these two right from the start! This was such a fun, entertaining, and captivating story. I was hooked from the start and I read this book in less than 24 hours, I just couldn't put it down! This was such an easy 5 star read in my opinion, I loved everything about this book! And that ending OMG! I need book 2 right now! 💜📚
Thank you to the author and to the publisher for this ARC of Flossed in Love, in exchange for an honest review.
I've been wanting more vampires lately, I'm in such a mood for them, so I ended up picking this one up, looking adorable and really sweet, which it does deliver!!! Most of the book was a solid four stars, and then there's this decision 2/3 through the book that disappointed me and lowered this to a lower four stars!!!
I'm going to start with this more negative point, and then go into all the great things the book does... I just feel there's a bit of a rush to Damian and Florence's relationship, and there's a pressure situation there that made me uncomfortable, especially considering Florence's background.
Now, on the other hand, the romance is really fun and sweet, they have great banter with each other, there's this immediate attraction but also this developing relationship between them... the book itself explores the fun thing of it being a dentist and a vampire... and I LIKE how her supernatural powers are used, the silent conversations and the easiness and familiarity with each other!!!
Still in the present timeline, I love Florence and her roommates, the way the three of them are very different, different outlooks on their lives and vampirism itself, and the way to adapt to modern times. But the way they have complimented each other and allowed themselves to build a life together that's safe!!! Still at this time, but not storywise, but I'll also say that I love the main story being set in Edinburg and having been there earlier this year, I LOVED being able to recognize the places mentioned!!!
Besides this storyline, the book is also introducing us to how Florence got changed in an arc that I feel honors those classic, gothic and toxic vampire romances!!! A story build in manipulation and servitude, a life that leaves Florence with no power and a sense of obligation!!! That was just excellent, I may like the unhealthy side of things a bit more...
The ending itself was really good and exciting, and it leaves you in the edge for the next book, and I'm definitely pondering continuing, especially as we will explore this other relationship that I think plays a lot more into the classic toxic vampire tropes which I appreciate!!!
I received an advance review copy for free through BookSirens, and I am leaving this review voluntarily :)
I actually thoroughly enjoyed reading this book, I was skeptical because I discovered it on the Stuff your Kindle Day and it had few reviews, but I have been pleasantly surprised.
First off, I loved the plot right away. I loved seeing female vampires as the main characters, and I loved Damian. With that, however, I do feel like scenes could have been longer, and the dialogue felt rushed. I couldn't truly believe that Damian liked her other than because she was hot. I am all for "love at first sight", but that didn't seem to be the point.
Secondly, I did love the B plot, slipping back in time for more perspective gave the context into Floss that was needed. However, we have very little information about Damian, which didn't make me like him any less, but some more of his quirks could have been great. We got his general storyline though, so I can't complain too much.
Andddd since there was a cliffhanger I guess I HAVE to read the next book in the series. (I'm actually so excited)

What a fun read! I love a cute paranormal rom-com and this one was the perfect mixed of vampire lore, quirky romance and a fearful past. I enjoyed how the story switches from present day to her past and from Floss’s to Damian’s perspectives. The books ends on a cliffhanger and can’t wait for the next book!
You’ll want to sink your teeth into this one! The book has a great pace and keeps the reader engaged by giving out little pieces of information as you go through. Floss is an interesting multi-dimensional character who just wants love and seems to go about it in an awkward manner… but who doesn’t? It almost makes her seem human. Can’t wait to see where this story goes!.

OK, phew! Now that I’ve had plenty of caffeine (after staying up until the wee hours like a little gremlin to finish this book) — I’m ready.
I went into this expecting a cutesy romcom-style vampire story. And YES, it absolutely delivered on that front… but it also brought a darker, more thrilling edge that had me ravenous to finish it in one sitting.
The story is told in dual POV and spans dual timelines, and it’s done really well. The shifts never detract from the pacing — instead, they give us rich backstory, lore, and history, while also offering glimpses into our gang’s past lives. Even with the modern-day setting and Victorian-era flashbacks, there’s an air of tradition that keeps it grounded in classic vampire mythos: needing consent to enter, flying, thralls… all the good stuff.
And let’s talk about Floss & Damian — their chemistry is adorable and swoony, and it’s going to have everyone out here hoping to fall for a hot dentist 🦷🩷
That cliffhanger, though? Sheesh. I need the next book yesterday.
4.5 stars - I am so incredibly grateful for the opportunity to have received an advanced copy of Flossed In Love from the author! 🫶
If I mixed together vampires with a hint of romance, historical fiction, and some gothic horror then that sums up Flossed In Love in a nutshell and I loved it! 🥹🖤 It truly is such a multifaceted story and it has so many layers to it that it felt like I was peeling an onion and discovering all the intricacies that came along with it! 🫶 It’s got dual timeline, multi-pov, complex characters and so much more! 🤭🧛♀️🔥
Florence (“Floss”) is the vampire queen and I absolutely loved her! 🧛♀️ She’s also so incredibly relatable especially since she loves reading books on her kindle just like I do! 😂 She also gets herself into quite a pickle in this story! 🥒 She’s been hiding from her horrible ex and has been so tired living under the radar. She then meets Damian the dentist and sparks fly but he’s human and has no idea she’s a vampire! 🫢 What happens after that you must read and find out! 😊 Damian is truly such a golden retriever MMC and it’s honestly adorable! 🐶🐾 Meanwhile, Florence’s (“Floss”) friends truly bring so much to the story and I love how supportive they are of one another! 🫶 Lastly, that cliffhanger has me in shock and I need book two ASAP because my mind is going crazy right now wanting to know what happens! 😱🤯🙊
If you love vampire romance, romance meets historical fiction meets gothic horror, dual timeline, multi-pov, golden retriever MMC, opposites attract, and amazing side characters then please be sure to read this because it’s worth the read! 🫶
I'm voluntarily leaving this review. As always my reviews are spoiler free.
It's a 5/5 for me.
I honestly enjoyed this book much more than I expected.
The characters, the plot, the rom-com-iness of it all. It was a hoot reading through it.
Floss is such a well written character! She is as the series name states, Fanged and flirty!
I enjoyed the back and forth of timelines. It gives us readers a chance to really understand who Floss really. What got her to the present the book and why she is the way she is.
Enter Damien. Ahh what's there to say about the leading lad of this riveting novel? He's someone I'd want to be friends with for sure. And reading the way he and Floss slowly but sure fall for each other is something I genuinely enjoyed!
The side characters too, had very strong reasons to be there. They weren't just side characters, they felt like real people bringing so much more weight to the plot and I really liked that about this book.
Would I recommend this book to people? Heck yes! It's a great read and a fun time. Will I be reading the rest of this series? Of course. I'm really looking forward to seeing what's next for these characters!
I originally wanted to read this book because of vampires. What I got was an emotionally heart felt story story that gave you some laughs.
Our FMC vampire Florence was complex but vulnerable at the same time. Even though she was a vampire she wanted what we all want and that was someone to love her for who she is. However who she is is what's so complex.
Then walks in our MMC Damian. The human who Florence is smitten with. He is the definition of emotional and vulnerable because he's a man who just says what's in his heart. Who can blame him because the trauma that he faced in his past brought that vulnerability to life.
The two of them together are at the odd couple that actually works. They genuinely compliment one another in all of the best ways. This book is funny, it is captivating, and it is emotional. This is so not the typical vampire book that I would read. I love the dark, macabre type of vampire book but with that said, this was actually a great read. I really enjoyed it.
Oh wow—I wouldn’t have expected to find this gem, but I’m so glad I did.
I’ve always been a vampire girly (thank you Twilight frenzy and my supernatural obsession), so naturally I was drawn in. But this one surprised me with how lighthearted and funny it was. Florence being weird and unapologetically herself through the ages? Iconic. Her dentist crush? Hilarious. Her ex and the son? I totally suspected that twist.
The romance was exactly what I love: smutty, fantasy-filled, and with a heroine who’s clearly the alpha. But what made it even better is how Florence balances her power with Damian she lets him choose and she doesn’t bulldoze him, even though she easily could. That dynamic worked perfectly.
The only downside? It was too short. I would’ve happily read twice the length.
Excited that this is just the beginning of the series. Definitely a 5-star read.
✨ I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I’m already counting down the days until the next book in this series drops! Flossed In Love gave me everything I want in a romance: hilarious moments, swoony tension, and just the right touch of supernatural chaos.
Floss and Damian are absolute cuties, and watching Damian try (and fail) to make sense of the insanity he’s thrown into had me cracking up. The man’s brain hasn’t been in the driver’s seat for a minute—and honestly, if a gorgeous vampire was trying to seduce me- same, Damian. Same.
What really had me chomping at the bit (see what I did there…), though, was getting to know what Floss’s past held. There’s a deeper story brewing here, and I’m so excited to see where it all goes!
Highly recommend if you love your romance with sharp teeth, lots of heart, and little mystery to boot. 🩷🧛♀️
I love the premise of this. A vampire falling for her dentist? Yes. Please. Especially when said vampire is called Floss, Angela you’ve out done yourself. The execution was perfect and exactly what I expected. Fun, slightly awkward characters with an element of jeopardy. And I’m hanging on like Floss was to the drainpipe in Paris over that ending. The bed breaking was just perfectly timed. Being a Line of Duty fan, I can’t help but love the surname choice for a certain vengeful sire. The parallels were so good.
There’s something about Angela’s books which is just so devourable. I always read her books so quickly. The cover of this is 10/10. I am in love. I cannot wait for the next book in this series.

Going in, I thought this was going to be a quirky vampire rom-com but this novel delivered so much more. We start with modern-day Florence falling for her ridiculously hot dentist, which is fun, but then we get flashes of her dark past and I was even more intrigued. The layered storytelling adds emotional weight, making it more than just a fun paranormal romance.
The ONLY downside for me was the chemistry between the main characters, it felt more like an insta-love than an angsty chase. Don’t get me wrong, the spice is good, and the characters are the perfect combination, I just LOVE the chase and there wasn’t much of that here. Honestly though, I was so invested in other aspects of the story that this is hardly notable.
I would recommend this to readers who enjoy: • Paranormal Romance • Vampire FMC • Cinnamon Roll MMC • Witty Humor • Dangerous Ex • Dual POV & Dual Timeline • Open Door Spice
Thank you to Booksirens & the author for the ARC, I am looking forward to book two!
Ok, why did I sprint through this book in a few hours? Why didn’t I savour it? Because, in the nicest possible way, where’s the rest of it?!
Thank you to Angela for having me as an ARC reader. This is the first time reading her work, and I’m so glad I found this one!
The writing style and story are so perfectly compatible that it’s so easy to devour this book in one sitting, and I loved how Floss’ voice changes subtly between the flashback scenes and the modern day scenes, as her vernacular changes with the times.
This has to be one of the easiest 5 stars I’ve given this year, and I’ll be recommending it to everyone ♥️
I voluntarily reviewed this after receiving a complimentary copy of this book via Book Sirens. Florence or Floss as she likes to be called is a vampire that was turned in the late 1800s', having been turned by Alexander, a doctor. She was able to escape from him but has lived most of her vampiric life lowkey to avoid running into her ex. I liked how Floss met Damian Rhodes, her new Dentist. Floss and Damian have this connection, both drawn to each other, both with painful pasts. Damian and Floss story continues in book 2 and I cannot wait. Overall, I enjoyed this quirky, funny, sometimes dark love story of Damian and Floss.
I thoroughly enjoyed Flossed In Love. As well as being a great palate cleanser, it was a constant page turner with a great plot.
The story is about Floss, a vampire who just met her new dentist, Damian Rhodes, and fell head-over-heels for him. It's told from two different POVs - Floss and Damian - and two timelines - both Floss'. The modern day timeline is very Rom-Com with fun and spicy paranormal elements. The past timeline explains how Floss became a vampire and why she is running from it. This timeline was a little darker, which made the story even more intriguing.
I couldn't put this book down and I recommend to anyone who loves a Rom-Com with a twist. But be warned: It's left on a huge cliff-hanger. I'm looking forward to the next instalment.
4.5⭐️ and WHY must I continue to torture myself with cliffy’s?! GAH! What a great paranormal rom-com.
Florence (Floss) is a quirky vampire who meets a hottie mortal dentist—Get it? Dentist..Floss?—anyway…it’s love at first bite for Floss. She and two other vamps (Sadie & Hester) share a flat while on the run from Floss’s ex. Floss is given a difficult ultimatum and I enjoyed how the story flipped between timelines and gave a clear backstory. Awkward moments, clever dialog, and I can’t wait to read book two. Did I mention the cliffhanger?
The sexy times were both consensual and nonconsensual (Trigger warning) in this paranormal romance/action adventure set in the UK. The characters were complex and unpredictable. Alexander turned Florence into a Vampire over a hundred years ago (Trigger warnings). She escaped him with some help. She has some cool powers but still wants to do normal things. Damian is a sweet "woke" Dentist with his own PTSD inducing past. This book is more light than dark. Parts were funny.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
What a terrific vampire ROM com I absolutely loved this and Angela you knocked this out of the park as you always do . This book have everything , I felt so many different emotions reading this book and that is a true joy , to go from laughter to shocked to wanting a certain vampire to get his steak and I'm not talking about food . I absolutely adore Florence and damian is just a dream I'm hoping for more from them and this series because this left me on a cliffhanger not only do I need more of there relationship but I need to know what happens next .
Angela Pearse has done it again! Absolutely loved Flossed in Love. It was the perfect blend of romance and vampires. The flow of the book worked well going back and forth between past day and her past. And what an ending! I could not put the book down. I can't wait to find out what happens next. Highly recommend.
A spicy vampire romance tale, mixed with some historical fiction and gothic horror stories, with two timelines and two POVs, really is the perfect mix! Really enjoyed the start to this series, particularly Florence and her intertwined life stories.
I've loved this read. While romcoms aren't often my cup of tea, I got here very captivated and still like that. I've enjoyed a lot with the characters - Florence and Damian, vampire or human, are unique.
Great dual pov story of Damian and Florence with this Paranormal mix of Modern and Historical story. Loved these characters linking the past and the present so you get the whole picture. Looking forward to reading more of this series.
A young woman just trying to live, is informed by her aunt that a governess position is available and she has sent in Florence's application. This is definitely a life changing position.
Present day, a long time has passed, and Floss (Florence) has found a new love.
Lot's of entanglement and admit, sex, but danger is coming. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
A very modern type vampire story that is very well written.
What a fabulous choice for my first paranormal romance! This was a hoot from beginning to end, full of drama and cleverly written with a dual timeline. Just so original. Which is what I adore about this authors' books. Angela Pearse flits seamlessly from genre to genre, as if she has always written in each. I can't wait to see what happens next in the series...
First off, this cover is lovely and really captures both characters. Second off, be ready to want more. This book was a fun read about a vampire and a hottie dentist. There are time jumps but it was easy to follow along with. The scenes were set beautifully and the pace was well thought out. Quick, fun read that makes you want more!
I love this author's writing, I find that she always manages to be ironic, engaging and has an innate ability to tell stories. Even with this new book she managed to keep me glued until the last page... I anxiously await the second chapter of this irreverent rom/com. Highly recommended
