This book truly took me by surprise. I didn’t expect to be swept into such an emotional roller coaster. The pandemic timeline, threw me for a second, only because the author captured it so well I could practically hear the banana bread, sourdough starters and Zoom fatigue calling.

I found Harper’s character especially compelling. She was layered, authentic, and deeply human. Her interactions with her therapist were nuanced, thoughtful, and emotionally resonant. I wanted to simultaneously hug her and shake some sense into her.

What stood out most to me was the author’s remarkable ability to craft characters and situations that felt undeniably real. There’s no sugar-coating here—no neatly tied fairy tale ending— (Chapter 40, I'm looking at you) and that’s exactly what made the story so powerful. It honored the messiness of life in a way that felt honest and authentic.

Capturing the quiet complexities of ordinary life and the emotional depth of everyday people is no small feat. Yet this author succeeds beautifully, creating fictional characters who feel strikingly true to life, grappling with real emotions and challenges.

I can’t wait to experience the next heartbreak—I mean, the next book.

First of all, I have to say that I’m proud of myself for finally being able to read a physical book, even through a little reading slump I’m going through. I didn’t know Tommy Lorenzo before hearing about this book from a Puerto Rican tiktoker I follow, and I’m glad I did because I got to read this. Honestly, the overall idea of the story was good, maybe just a bit slow in certain moments, but I love that it talks about the pandemic and how we all felt during those months of endless isolation and depression. I definitely see myself in Harper, as someone who struggles with meeting people, trust issues, unemployment, amongst other things. The only thing I’m still confused about, is which guy in the cover is which?😅 I never really understood from their descriptions. And of course, THAT CLIFFHANGER?! Definitely will pick up the sequel if (hopefully when) it comes out!!

I found this book super interesting; captivating me from the beginning. I have to admit that I couldn't put it down. The setting of the book is connected to the COVID-19 era, which was a drastic change for everyone. This circle of friends was so close until they had to get used to seeing each other through the screen. This change caused Harper to enter the world dating online; giving herself a chance to believe in love again. When she was ready to give everything, her world took an unexpected turn.

Great novel! Easy read, captivating story. I enjoyed Harper’s story as it was very relatable. I did find Sarah’s character slightly forced in her speech. Was not expecting those twists! Looking forward to seeing how the story continues.

It’s a roller coaster of emotions. I love the little twist at the end of the book, I knew something dramatic was going to occur but did not expect the end of it. It is a slow burn and I loved it.

This book has it all!~ Romance, Mystery, Adventure, and Unexpected surprises. Harper is relatable. And mature for her age. I love her dedication to her friends, her job, even her family! She is loyal to the core. Like me.
The group of friends remind me of my circle of friends when I was that age. We went out, we played board games, and M-F did our 9-5. It brought back great memories! There are lovable characters and well, not so nice characters. Mark is a mystery. Harpe and friends are lovable. As are Eric and Alex.
I would say, if there is 1 critique I had to make, it would be the spacing on the writing. I'm not used to it. It's not wrong. I just did not enjoy it. But as far as content, It is a Must READ!
