Traditions and family history are chronicled in a tome by an elder Giacanti. What stories are told about the dead that has an enforcer on a murderous rampage to conceal? A Mafia Donna is reading the tales, and what will she uncover in the contents that a killer Protezione does not want revealed?
Read the bestselling crime saga, hailed as a 'socks off gritty read' and 'a killer great series'!
S. W. Frank resides in New York. Art, poetry, music and writing were always quiet joys. A former NYC emergency medical worker and contributing writer for her law school journal, the author decided to pursue the obsession of storytelling full-time. Since then she dusted off manuscripts and decided to share stories with the public.
The Guardian, 2013 article, 'The Gems of Indie Publishing' readers' have stated, "[S.W. Frank] is bold and unapologetic in her delivery."
The Alfonzo series, voted on Goodreads as 1 of the Best Mob and Multicultural/Interracial Romance's for 2012.
The author states, "I write stories with multicultural characters that are desirable, smart and intriguing. They're stories of interesting people that I wanted to read and my small contribution to literary world to include diversity."
Another 5 star book in the Alfonzo series! In book 15 more family secrets are revealed which leads to more headaches for Alfonzo, never any peace for a Mafia Kingpin. Nico is busy trying to take out potential threats against the family, while staying loyal to his wife. Guiseppe is adapting to married life and finding out he may just have met his match. I just love the way Ms. Frank takes you on a emotional journey that always ends with you learning something new about how you may or may not react if you were apart of this family. I teared up when they experienced pain, I felt joy when they experienced happiness , and when they felt betrayed I felt their anger . Atavus is every bit the wild ride you would expect to have when dealing with the Giacanti family. So if you love a fast paced story with romance, drama, action, and just a touch of history, this is definitely the story for you.
A bit disappointed in this one. The action was little but all the jumbo/fluff didn’t seem to be relevant to the story that we wanted to know about. What was in Nicolo’s journal? What’s the history, and why are we still getting bits of Semira and what’s really going on. Maybe I missed something. I thought when the journal came into play we’d get down to some of the real issues. What is going on with Yoself and what ties do the DeMarco’s have that Alfonzo is so against looking into? Is he going to open his ports for Viscount? Is Ari behind Selange’s money problems? Who was it that Nico took care of in the filthy apartment and what happened with Bianca? Little to nothing was answered in this one and it seems like the author is trying to get up word count to prolong what’s going on. Hopefully the next one will shed some light on what’s going on.
In this book there were more questions then answers to me. Too much soap box and not enough story for me.
What was with Nico and Tony? I get that perhaps Tony should have spoken to Nico about how he was feeling about his job but damn!!!!
Geo has found a woman who can handle his ass. He shows him that she loves him but she won't be disrespected by him and he had better listen to her. I like Nicole. I miss Shandra but Nichole is good for him.
This is one of the most violent books in the series, but also one of the most interesting. Nico kills at will whether ordered to or not. I don't understand what Tony did. Poor Tiffany was collateral damage. I loved how Alfonzo handled Nico when he found out what he did.
For family to mean so much, they kill them too. Maria found out about Domingo and she and Alfonzo have it out. Will they forgive each other? Maria is so hypocritical. Will Maria admit her wrong?? What will Geo do to Nico when he finds out that Alfonzo didn't order him to do anything to Tony? What will Nicole do or will she ever find out the truth? Nico and Ari are treacherous. Nico hacks Selange's phone and sees something only meant for Alonzo. He realized he's lying to himself saying he only loves Ari when he still loves Selange and has since he first saw her. Ari hacks Selange accounts to try to get her to participate in her rackets. Of course, pure, sweet Selange refuses to be a part of Ari's schemes to steal from others. Embezzlement is stealing. Nico knew and returned the money to Selange's account. What will Alfonzo do if he finds out how Nico and Ari manipulates Selange's accounts??? However she doesn't tell Alfonzo the truth about secretly meeting with Nico. She knows both Ari and Alfonzo would have problems with that. Why Selange, why???
There's no end to the deceit by family members in this book. Are Nico and Ari out of control? Nico even involved his sons in committing crimes using technology. Why will Ari and Nico end up raising Alexandros? What happens to Bianca and Why? How will Bruno react?? More family members die. Why??? On to Amoroso looking for answers and Shanda??
When you’re the descendants of a king and everyone wants a piece of you but you have to be careful of who you can trust then throw in a crazy family their partners lord what next
Well this book was unexpected. I had what happens to two of the characters. I liked both. I guess you can't get too close with these characters. I do like Nicole, I hope she can stick it out with crazy ass Giusesepe!
I have read over a few reviews of this book before reading it myself. For the most part I agree with the review already post. For the four that didn't understand what was going on, simply put more history of a family and diving deeper into the relationships of the couplings. Maybe you all where looking for more of the bang bang shoot 'em up mafia style. I think the series would be boring if that was all there was to it. Can you honestly have a hit without having strategy and intellect behind the hit. Nico demonstrates this when he does some things I thought him to be going coco puffs. I some points I thought he was losing his darn mind. But whom can stay sane carry ll the weight of family secrets, while still protecting said family? An for Uncle Nicolo Giacanti to tell him the last of family secrets to clear his conscience before his final sleep how does one not go insane?
Nico and Ari - are well matched in crazy. Finally Ari is showing us who she is and what she is about, without any apologies. Not sire if Nico has finally laid Lavina to rest, but he lets go of Selange (with her help) and finally puts Bianca in her place. Seeing Ari as his soulmate, his ride or die, his match for this lifetime. Dang it only took 15 books.
Nico and Sergio - Hummm?? Read The Serano Brothers to find out why I say this. Yeah I would think "Unk" s crazy too.
Nico and Aaron - HILARIOUS!!! Way to go Aaron!
Giuseppe and Nicole - I'm still not a firm believer in this coupling. I think Shandra was more his match. But hey maybe Nicole is what he needs her to be the calm to his storm of life. Just not while about her character yet.
Tony and Tiffany - did not see that coming although there were plenty of warnings.
Sophie and Yosef - Maybe not a soulmate as Carlo but a well suited pairing.
Alfonzo and Selange - just keeps getting better. Selange finally puts Nico in his place and stands side by side with her man against Maria. Alfonzo is letting Aldonza know whom runs the show.
Alfonzo/Guiseppe/Nico - honor, loyalty and sacrifice with some hick-ups!
This installment was good. Still a little confused about the change in Nico's personality, but, I anxiously await the next installment. I know that Ms. Frank lays the ground work, but it may not be totally obvious at the first reading. Nico always has a good reason for what he does, even if we, the readers, are not quite up to snuff. I am anxious to know how Bianca and the rest of the DeMarco's play in this saga. I have had my doubts about loyalty, but, I do not not know the inter-working of this family, I will reserve my personal thoughts until all is revealed.
I am somewhat disappointed in Maria, but sometimes, that's a mother's prerogative to assign her brand of judgement, I suppose. She was harder on him than his Aunt Carmen. Aunt Carmen and her other sons seem to be totally at peace at this point. What was the extent of Domingo's crazy? We know some, but I don't think we know the full extent or the possible future consequences of Domingo's betrayal. Did his Mom Carmen really bury Domingo face down as Maria described for the reasons she told Alfonzo? Or perhaps did she used that as effect to further twist the dagger into Alfonzo for the real truth? Maybe Maria has been in Italy too long with Bruno and has actually doesn't have her finger on her American family's pulse. (Somebody's been out of the loop too long, Mom).
In essence, a great installment and I anxiously awaiting for her other novels within this series and outside of it. Lots of questions and possible scenarios are swimming around in my head. Can't wait until she gives us more answers. Keep up the good work, Author S.W. Frank!
This is what I've been missing from the last few installments! The latest Alfonzo saga is full of drama, deceit, hilarity, and sorrow! I never know where this story is headed, and S.W. Frank did not disappoint with this one. One thing's for sure: Nico is losing his damn mind, and I LOVE IT! All the years of merciless slaughter is finally catching up with our loveable assassin. His conscience is slowly creeping in to invade his steel reserve, and it's slowly driving him insane.
Giuseppe and Nicole are becoming one of my favorite couples. I love their hilarious exchanges, and Nicole is the perfect match for Geo's BS. I love how she's taming that wild beast (as best she can), while still being a career woman, wife, and new mother to Carlo.
And last, but certainly not least-Alfonzo and Selange: Their bond gets stronger with each installment, and I am so glad that Selange now realizes where her loyalties lie. Loved when she called Nico out on his BS, and will not betray her man nor her sister-from-another-mister Ari. Selange has matured to a whole new level, and I love this new take-charge attitude. Alfonzo is just that dude. There's nothing more to say.
I so look forward to the next installment. Nothing but awesome!
I cannot get enough of this series. I just love it! You just never know what's going to happen next! Love this installment,Nico & Ari were crazier than usual this go around and Al and Selange just make me laugh.I was so happy for Geo and Nicole,I just feel like she is perfect for Geo's spoiled behind. not shocked at all with what happen with Tony and Tiffany. Story was great, the plot thickens...AGAIN! and I can't wait for more!
I have loved this whole series but this one not so much. Not much happened in this book. a lot of narrative. The author wrote several pages about the "The Godfather" movie, really? I think the author is running out of story ideas but still wants to capitalize on this series. Perhaps it is time to let this series come to a close.
This series is just getting better. I usually get tired of a series so many books in, but this one I just want to read forever. Can't wait for the next edition.
The author always keeps my attention with these complicated characters. The first part of the book revealed how the elder Nicolo Giacanti gave his memoirs to Selange and Alfonzo. As Selange discovers things about Al's family, certain things are revealed that helps her to understand their gr-grandmother Semira.
Nico is determined to be faithful to Ari despite Bianca's having a son for him and trying to seduce him again, even though she's engaged. However I was disappointed that he offed Tony and his bride Tiffany. He is so distrustful , his life is all business with no heart for anyone except his family. Sergio was right, these are alpha Mafioso who do not prey on the weak, they take down the strong.
Alphonzo is still trying to figure out why his companies are hemorrhaging money. It will be interesting to find out who is behind that as well as who ordered Bianca and her new husband's execution.
This series has continued to be well developed full of complicated characters, drama and suspense.
