Rate this book

It's just Jocelyn's luck that she meets her match at the fake bachelorette party her best friend throws for her. She knows better than to get pulled into any of Cee-Cee's antics. No man ever wants to be knocked off his feet by a woman he meets while she's wearing a bachelorette "suck for a buck" shirt...

Andrew knows that he wants Jocelyn the moment he lays eyes on her, but he's never been one to poach on another man's territory. He walks away but finds himself changed by the experience. I absolutely adore reading - always have and always will. My friends growing up used to tease me when I would trail after them, trying to read and walk at the same time. If I have downtime, odds are you will find me reading or writing.

I am the mother of two wonderful sons who have inspired me to chase my dream of being an author. I want them to learn from me that you can live your dream as long as you are willing to work for it.

When I told my mom that my new year's resolution was to self-publish a book in 2013, she pretty much told me "About time!"

It was okay. I enjoyed it but probably not a favorite. The worst part for me was I felt the last 80% was rushed. You get an to speed the relationship a long and then things moved at warped speed. BAM! You're done. I would definitely be interested in the next one though.

Jocelyn has not always had support but when her best friend Cee-Cee calls she is always there for her. She had not expected that her newest favor would be to be a fake bachelorette for research.

Andrew will admit that the thrill of the chase has gone wayward. Successful retired hockey player and owner to several entertainment venues, Andrew can have anyone he wants but it is getting redundant. When he sees Jocelyn he knows she is different and he wants her but when he sees that she is wearing "suck for a buck" t-shirts designed for bachelorettes on their last day of freedom, he finds himself disappointed.

When Andrew finds out that the woman who has haunted his thoughts is actually very single and the circumstances around that bacherlotte party, he pulls out all the stops. Andrew is falling hard and he knows Jocelyn is his one, Jocelyn is equally entranced but a difficult childhood has her proceeding with caution. Andrew can be patient but in the end, Jocelyn will be his forever.

Loved this one, Andrew is pure alpha. Jocelyn has no problem putting Andrew in his place and what I really liked was they communicated. Very sensual, can't wait for more.

Sweet read. I loved Andrew he was perfect:D Josie was a good h too.Secondary characters were great as well.

Safe with one tiny exception. after the hero meets h and thinks she's engaged they don't meet again for a month and once during that time he trys to go on a date but he wasn't feeling it sent her home in a cab(from the restaurant). It really wasn't a big deal and didn't bother me at all.

I swear Rochelle Paige has thing for alpha males because she hit the ballpark with Sucked into Love. This book was oozing with alpha male sexiness. All I got to say , the only name you will utter is ANDREW!!!!!! How could you put this book down when you got a hot ex-hockey player turned savvy business man who has a penchant for dirty talking? Right!! I practically devoured this book in one sitting. It was sweet, fun, and downright sexy.

Who knew a fake bachelorette party was all it took for Andrew to turn his world upside down? One passing glance at the beautiful Jocelyn, Andrew knew he wanted her and luckily for him he learns that Jocelyn is happily single and not getting married. With this new found information, prepare yourself as this hot alpha male swoons and sweet talks his way into Josie’s heart and panties. And prepare yourself for one steamy love affair dripping with sexiness.

I loved everything about Sucked Into Love. There was no added drama and it was a straightforward read. All I got to say is go read Sucked into Love because Rochelle will not disappoint you. I bow down to Rochelle because she has a talent in writing a total alpha male that could easily be book boyfriend material and I love that about her books. I can honestly tell you I am a big fan of this author and I look forward to reading more of her books.

What happens when you find your soulmate at her own bachelorette party? For Andrew, that is exactly what happens. Owning his own club and enjoying life, he feels as though something is missing. When he walks into his club, he immediately spots her and knows what's missing. But then she turns around and his pull towards her doesn't make sense because she is already someone elses since she is having her bachelorette party.
Jocelyn just moved back to town and that night she lets her best friend come up with a crazy idea for her work. She is throwing a fake bachelorette party for Jocelyn to get the inside scoop of the club. Jocelyn goes along with it because she can hardly ever tell Ce-Ce no.
Months later, Andrew still cannot forget about Jocelyn. He knows he will never see her again since she is probably already married. But fate has other plans. When they meet again and misunderstandings are revealed, their relationship takes off into something no one saw coming.

-safe read
-both celibate
-no ow/om drama
-just an ok epilogue. (months out)

I've said it before and I'll say it again.. Rochelle Paige has quickly climbed to the the top of my favorite authors who write heroes that I adore and stories that steal my heart. I knew from the moment that Andrew saw Jocy (Jocelyn to him) that he was gonna be a favorite book boyfriend. For the guy who really never had a relationship and always just had fun,  this time it was different. He wanted her from the first site and was so upset she was "taken".

But not all is as it seems. One Fake bachelorette party started a passionate and heart felt journey that was fast paced but never lacking in the emotional growth. I felt that these two may have quickly given into the scorching chemistry but really did get to know each other in the most romantic ways. Andrew pulled out all the stops sweeping Jocy off her feet. I loved seeing the characters from the Blythe series and really enjoyed how low drama this read was. No aggravating misunderstandings or over the top angst. Just two amazing characters falling head over heels in love and some pretty sizzling hot ..slightly kinky..love scenes.

Andrew knew just what he wanted and Jocy felt free giving him that control. Sweet encounters and shocking surprises ..with one amazing epilogue and I was so happy..but alas..every time I close the book on a Rochelle Paige love story..I'm left singing.

This was a good, safe read. The H was very loyal and sweet to the h. It was insta love which didn't bother me at all. I just didn't like accident toward the end that pushed up the level of the relationship. I don't like when an accident or attack is used to take a relationship to the next level. Too predictable!

~this review may contain minor spoilers~

I'd never bothered to build a relationship of any kind with any of the women I'd slept with. And although I'd grown tired of the game, I never wanted any of them enough to make a change in my way of life.
Until the moment I laid eyes on her and felt the pull of our chemistry from across my crowded club. At her own goddamn bachelorette party. Of all the rotten luck.

Jocelyn knew better than to get involved in one of her best friend Cee-Cee's harebrained schemes, her only excuse is that she was tired; she had just got done moving back home after all. However, she never expected that playing the bride-to-be at a fake bachelorette party would bring her face to face with the man who would come storming into her life and change it forever.

Andrew has never been the relationship kinda guy, but lately, the constant one-night stands have completely lost their appeal. But who would have thought that when he finally came across the first woman to make him want to settle down and be monogamous, it would be at her bachelorette party. Even knowing she is off the market, he can't take his eyes off her or get her out of his mind a month later. So imagine his surprise when he runs into her again and discovers that not only is she single, but she was never engaged to begin with. That makes her fair game, and Andrew always gets what he wants.

I didn't think I had ever felt such an instantaneous and strong feeling of desire for a man before. And it scared me a little how much he could make me feel so quickly. No man should be able to get my panties dripping wet with a few touches and a whisper in my ear.

This was a pretty quick read with minimal drama and very little angst to speak of, which are what I usually what I look forward to in my romances. It was sweet however, and loaded with some awesome characters and friggin hott sex. But what really drew me was the way the author flipped the typical roles; in this one it was the Playboy Alpha who was insecure in the relationship, though he covered it pretty well with his sexy-as-hell demanding and dominating ways, and it was our leading lady who was dragging her commitment feet. She does eventually get on the same page as her man, but it takes time, some wicked persuasion techniques and not a whole lot of patience. That is what I loved about this story and what helped me get past my insta-love irritation; of course, the crazy hott chemistry didn't hurt either ;)
She did throw a little twist in towards the end that kinda made my heart stop, but still did a fantastic job of wrapping it up quite nicely without leaving me hanging but giving us a hint of who the next story may be about. I know this series is a spin-off of the Blythe College Series, which I haven't read... yet, but it was my introduction to Rochelle Paige and it certainly won't be the last book I read from her ~ cannot wait to see what kind of badass Alpha she brings us next.

“I guess I can look forward to some corruption, because there's nothing innocent about the way you make me feel. So you better get used to all sorts of dirty words coming from my mouth meant for your pretty little ears.”
“And if I say no?”
“You aren't going to say no. Your skin is flushed. You're breathing heavily and I can feel your pulse racing. You want to say yes.”
“I do.”
“Then just fucking do it.”

I loved Rochelle Paige since the time I have read the first book in the Blythe College Series. It is one of my favorite series to date, it goes better and sexier every time she published an addition to it. This time, it’s a new series!

Jocelyn lost it all when her mother died. Her father didn’t want her, she was shipped off to a boarding school. She was injured and can’t do the only thing that she loved most – which is skating. She had learned to fend for herself and become independent. She was lonely, good thing she has Cee-Cee. After she was done with her post graduate studies, she went home and was eager to start her career in sports rehab. She lands herself a great job, surrounded by hot hockey players! Relationship was not on her priority list. She has a lot of issues on her plate, and engaging in a relationship would just complicate it.

If Jocelyn is a shy girl, Cee-Cee is the complete opposite. Her driving pull made Jocelyn agreed to pose as a fake bachelorette as a favor.

She caught the eye of the sexy, ex-NHL player, Andrew. After retiring from the pros, he started on his business and opened several bars and popular restaurants. He was tired of the game and was ready to find the ‘one’, until he saw her. But problem is – the girl of his dreams is having her bachelorette party.

Don’t you just love a guy who honors a bro-code? He can have her – but instead of pursuing her, he decided not to thinking that Josie is about to get married. But when he finally realized that it was a hoax – he did everything to have this girl!

First, I wasn’t really fond of the cover since I think I have seen this one on countless books. But as what the old saying goes: Don’t Judge The Book By Its Cover.

READ IT.

It’s sexy. Funny. Steamy. Romantic. If you are tired of gut-wrenching, tear-jerking novels, this one is a great read. No unnecessary drama, but don’t get me wrong – they too have issues and relationship problems, but nothing that could dampen your spirit and leave your heart broken. I love that this book left me in a good mood, a total breather from the usual.

PLUS! You will see characters from the Blythe College Series, and I was glad to bump into them, especially to Luca.

Andrew is a former professional hockey player who now owns a few restaurants and bars around Chicago.

Josie grew up in the area, and is now returning after finishing her doctorate in physical therapy. She has interviewed with the local NHL team, and is hopeful she'll be selected. Plus her good friend Alec is on the team, and her friend Jason is trying out, so she has connections.

One weekend Josie makes a visit to one of Andrew's establishments, and once Andrew lays eyes on her he is instantly attracted to her. However she is there celebrating for her "bachelorette" party, so Andrew thinks she is not available. Weeks later, at his family's barbecue who walks in the door but the woman from the bar that he was attracted to. Turns out she is friends with his little brother, but they had never met.

Typical alpha male and insta-love story, but I still enjoyed it. I also want to read the next story which focuses on CeeCee (Josie's best friend) and Jason.

I read this under duress; don't judge me.

My punishment was that this was horrible. If eye rolling was an Olympic sport, I would have won gold, silver and bronze with this one. FFS, fifty shades of grey is not the new benchmark in romance.

Our hero was so arrogant he completely missed being charming. Our leading lady was as compliant as tinfoil. It was irritating.

The things I do to make my reading challenge quota!

It was ok but no page-turner. The relationship was rushed then turned mundane. Some minor kink and phone sex (if you like those things, 🙄) but mostly boring. No angst. Just a beginning, middle, then end. I didn’t love it or hate it.

Sucked Into Love gets a 4 star rating from me. I really liked this story. A good love story with a uber alpha male...

Having never read any of Rochelle Paige's work I wasn't entirely sure what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised. Josie hasnt had it easy in life, after her mum died in a car accident when Josie was younger Josie's father virtually disowns her. Sending her off to boarding school and completely removing himself from her life. Josie hasn't had the upbringing most teenagers have, she has had to deal with it on her own, well with a little help from her best friend Cee-Cee.

Introducing Andrew. Andrew is the club owner at The Box. Josie will do anything for Cee-Cee she will even go as far as pretending to have a bachelorette party to help Cee-Cee out with her work. This is where Andrew sets his sights on Josie for the first time. Too him she is the caramel haired beauty with no name. That is until Andrew's brother Alec brings her to a family BBQ. Imagine Andrews surprise when the girl he hasn't been able to stop thinking about for the past month is in his family home, unmarried and beautiful as ever.

I was sure at this point that Alec has a thing for Josie, he seemed over friendly but not keen to ask her out when his Mother suggested he should. I thought this was all just a shyness thing infront of his Mother, but apparently not. He obviously sees Josie as a sister as much as she sees him as a brother. Imagine Alec's surprise when he realises Josie could be the girl to change his brother. Make him settle down, make him feel.

Andrew & Josie start the dating process but right from the beginning you can feel the connection between these two, the sexual chemistry is just bubbling over! Andrew is a crazy alpha male who is pretty damn controlling and stubborn. Josie knows this from the start when he wont even let her say no to a date. As the relationship between these two progresses its as if the connection gets deeper and the sexual tension gets more tense.

Not everything can be plain sailing with these two. Let's be honest you have Andrew who has never been in a relationship and has only ever had sexual relations with women. Then you have Josie who only has serious relationships but hasn't had one in over a year.
The honeymoon phase never seems to end with these guys and it is all very sickening. A guy that will do anything for you. Makes me sick... Okay maybe not sick, maybe slightly jealous!

This book has it all.
Hot Sex.
Sexy Hockey players.
An Alpha male.
The witty best friend.
Drama.
Angst.

But all in all a bloody good storyline. The only reason for me this book hasn't received the full 5 stars is because the story progressed far to quickly. I know some relationships are very much like this one but it all felt very rushed for me. The perfect quick read if you looking for something to satisfy your late afternoon book cravings. Dive into the world of Andrew & Josie.

Instant attraction, a reformed rake finds his muse. He first sees her at what he assumed was her hen party. Later he meets his brother’s childhood friend, Josie.

Moving back to her hometown, Josie is startled by feelings of nostalgia as she made her way up the steps of her childhood home. Her sanctuary for the first fourteen years of her existence. Before she’d learnt that life could be cruel and the people you love the most could shatter your trust. As she walked through the door, the memory of police officers standing there when they’d come to tell her dad that her mother had been in a fatal accident.

In a moment everything changed. This house had become the place where she witnessed her father struggle to adjust before she started high school, when he’d delivered his bombshell. He’d decided that it would be best to send her away to boarding school one hundred thirty miles away. Away from him, her friends and any comfort that would have helped her learn to cope with her loss.

He seemed impervious to her loss as he’d been engrossed in his own pain.
The transition to high school was difficult without the complication of being shipped off to a school that had strict rules, tough academics, and no friendly faces. At first, the only solace was on the ice, where she could immerse herself into training. Once the school year was over, her father packed her calendar full of activities. Private sessions, summer camps, and competitions. An endless cycle created to avoid her.

Until, unable to skate competitively anymore due to a knee injury, she lost her coping mechanism—the thing that anchored her to her mum. Her father chose her school because of their coaching staff and he still wasn’t willing to let her come home. He’d changed during the year she was away, becoming someone unrecognisable. Her adoring father had turned into a bitter, angry man.

Andrew owns the hottest nightclub in town and Cee-Cee wants to scope the premises prior to making a PR pitch, convincing Josie to a fake a hen party.
Andrew is an ex-hockey player, with a hospitality company and a variety of restaurants and clubs that were well known throughout Chicago...and enjoys playing the field. Seeing Josie has him rethinking his lifestyle. The newspapers are always running stories about him because he owns a bunch of bars and restaurants and played here in town before he got injured. On the surface, it seemed they had nothing in common.

She was a newly graduated physical therapist looking for a job, and he was the rich playboy with the world in the palm of his hand, recognising a kindred spirit when his career ended.

When her friend Alec invites her to his parents, she meets his older brother, Andrew, a completely smitten Andrew.

Finally an accident forces her father to realise the time lost as they reunite and the doctor announces she’s expecting a baby, prompting a premature marriage proposal from Andrew..followed by the challenge of a complicated surgical procedure.

Low on angst. No OW/OM.

If you love a bossy, dominate, alpha male… This book will have you reaching for the ice to put out your fire! F
Andrew is a bit of a contradiction actually. From the first pages of his POV, he thumbs his nose at relationships, dismissing them as a hassle. Then one look at a caramel haired beauty and his ideas quickly begin to dissipate. Andrew’s luck is not with him however, because the beauty is celebrating her bachelorette party. However, as hard as he might try, he cannot shake her from his mind.
Jocelyn has just returned home (I use that term loosely, because it is not really a place she can label that. You’ll have to read it to know more…) from earning her graduate degree in physical therapy. As a former skater, and with her knowledge through helping team trainers for hockey teams, she hopes to be hired on with Chicago’s junior league hockey team. Jocelyn is not a boring character, by any means, however, her best friend Ce-Ce definitely bakes the crazy cake. She convinces Josie to help her out with preparation in pitching her PR firm to a club that wants to cater to bachelorette parties. Eventually, she gets Josie to play the part of the “bride to be.” After a crazy night, life moves on. Ce-Ce get the account, Josie gets her job, and Andrew? Well…
Turns out, Josie went to H.S. with Andrew’s brother. Fate brings them together again, and this time, with no “fiancé” in his way, Andrew shoves his way into Josie’s life without doubt that she will be his. Of course…he’s right.
Again, Andrew is a bit of a contradiction. His possessive, jealous, bossy, and demanding. But, he is also, sweet, loving, understanding, and most importantly, he is aware of his other flawed characteristics. This means that he actually makes and effort to tamper down his caveman instincts. Outside the bedroom that is. Inside the bedroom, he untethers himself from his control and lets his alpha instincts run the show. Josie is certainly not complaining…and damn, neither am I.
Their relationship is a fun ride for the reader. The passion will set your panties on fire, the love will melt your heat, and the personalities will have you giggling and endearing the characters to you for the long haul.
I have never read a book by Rochelle Paige that I haven’t loved! It all started with Push the Envelope and Drake, who, as much as I love Andrew, has yet to be surpassed in my eyes. Each time she releases a book, I jump to read it and am never disappointed!

I should warn you I don't mind "insta-love/like," but if you're not a fan, that may bother you in this book. However, it fits Andrew's personality so well, that I think you could easily overlook it.

Andrew and Josie get 5 thumbs up from this girl!

***I received a free copy of this book in return for an honest review***

I HAD to read this book when I saw the summary. For my bachelorette party, my girls made me a suck a buck shirt so I really wanted to read this to see how this turned out (for me, my to-be hubby suggested we could try that when we had to start paying bills. HA!) ☺
Sucked into Love is the first book in the series but it was wrapped up nicely in the end. This can definitely be read as a standalone as there is no major cliffhanger.

The main characters in this book are Andrew and Jocelyn. Jocelyn is an independent woman that just landed the job of her dreams. Andrew is an ex-hockey player that owns several clubs and is known to be a playboy.

Andrew has a lot of sides to his personality: protective, possessive, understanding, loving, and domineering. These all show through at various times throughout the story. There were times when I thought he would be jealous of a situation but ended up having a calm understanding of what was really going on. Then he would show a domineering side in the bedroom when Jocelyn did something he wasn’t pleased with. In all cases, however, he was always kind to her.

Because of these different sides to Andrew, his reaction to some of the situations surprised me, which I really liked. Initially I thought I had his character all figured out so it was a pleasant surprise that he wasn’t predicable.

Jocelyn is independent but goes along with just about everything Andrew wants without much complaint. These two characters seem to fit perfectly together. Because they both have good heads on their shoulders, there is no unnecessary drama where there could be. The author could have easily gone down that path and created friction made up by the characters imaginations going wild but she didn’t and I was happy to see that.

There are a lot of sex scenes in this book and each of them is different. All were hot! The sex scenes all fit with the flow of the story. It also showed how much Andrew cared about Jocelyn.

As mentioned, this is the first book in the series but it wrapped up nicely with no major cliffhanger. There is one hint near the end of the book as to which couple the next book could be about. It was so subtle that it could easily be missed. I liked how that was done because it does leave the reader curious about the next book but doesn’t leave you frustrated about what could be next. This is the first book I have read by this author. I am interested in reading her Blythe College series too because it looks like some of the characters in Sucked into Love make an appearance there too.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

4.5 STARS!

Holy alpha hotness! Sucked Into Love was such a fun, well written, sweet and sexy read. I read it in one sitting as I found it difficult to put down.

“I hope to hell you live up to the promise of you.”

After years of being away from home, Jocelyn returns to her hometown as a physical therapist and lands her dream job. She is still hurt from her past, but is determined to move on now that she is back to the place she was sent away from so many years ago. While she is back in town, her best friend, insists on a fake bachelorette party. Being the great friend that she is, she agrees. She ends up catching the eye of ex-NHL star turned business man, Andrew. But Andrew sees that she is taken, yet his interest is still there. About a month later, circumstances allow the two to meet again, and sparks fly.

The connection between Andrew and Jocelyn was undeniable. They had such great chemistry. Written in dual POV, I thought the author did a great job in the development of their characters. Many people are not too fond of insta love. Not that I would too quick to categorize this as insta love, but the characters do fall quickly for each other. Or rather effortlessly. Yet it is genuine, real, and definitely believable. From the moment they meet and begin to get to know each other, they just fit. I found it to feel very natural between the two. No fluff needed. The author knew exactly what she was doing when she wrote these two.

“You belong with me because you are my home.”

I loved every minute of Sucked Into Love. It kept me engaged the entire time from beginning to end. There was no unnecessary drama that tends to be in these kinds of books. Oh and can I just talk about Andrew? Again. He was so alpha, possessive, so hot, but also so romantic. I could not get enough of him. I’m definitely giving Sucked Into Love 4.5 STARS as it was such a fun, romantic, hot read. There was emotion, an interesting plot, and I could not put it down. I look forward to the rest of the books in this series.
