A very vague and often unbiblical series of loosely related ideas that relate to the concept of the “will of God”. Each statement of idea or statement has a verse or small reference to a biblical story attached to it, that is supposed to support her assumptions, but are most of the time barely even related. Overall, another book to misguide people into the fearful gospel of God’s plan and living by signs and feelings. Although, I do appreciate that she emphasizes that the Bible should be central in our decisionmaking.
This was a handy book filled with tons of scripture references and suggested guidelines to follow as you set out to make decisions. I especially appreciated the reminder to thoroughly weigh your decisions according to scripture and that scripture was provided as examples.
If you like outlines and cut and dry bullet points, this book is perfect for you. It's straight to the point and easy to read.
Like most of the Hope for the Heart titles, while compact (95 pages) it's like a mini study on the chosen subject. It breaks down what it is to make a good decision, why we often have problems making them, and how to break past the uncertainty of making decisions out of the will of God. It is also full of biblical examples and references in text, mostly NIV.
My business coach said this is a quick read and will guide you through some scriptures to help you make the best decision for your future. Boy was he right. The words filled my ears with God’s guidebook summary. It was just what I needed. I’ve bought several copies and plan to give them to people who are I. The same boat as me.
