Lily McFarren isn’t human, but she has no idea.

Soon after graduating college, Lily is introduced to the magical land of her ancestors. She learns she must remove a tyrant from her father’s throne but must begin her training in telekinesis first.
Seven tasks need to be completed before Lily can gain full control over her abilities and each one gives her more insight into the world from which she was hidden.

Before Lily’s journey to magic is complete, she must choose between the world she grew up in and the family who raised her, or the thousands she could save by rejoining the magical community.

Amazingly descriptive journey! the author does an excellent job of transporting you into another world (not completely unlike our own). at times, it feels like you're the one gathering the ruby shards; breathing in mouthfuls of mud and water or fighting creatures. grammar aside, I excitedly await the next adventure!

This is the debut book for a new indie author. It is a YA fantasy story.

The story is centered on Lily, a recent graduate from college. Strange things start occurring around Lily and she's being followed by a stranger, a stranger with some special abilities.

It isn't long before Lily is told about a shadow world, and an impossible tale that involves her personally. The trouble is getting her to actually believe any of it.

Being a new indie author and a debut book you might think that it might not be the polished book you're use to picking up at the book store but you'd be wrong. While I did see a few issues it was mostly just personnel opinion stuff.

The story flowed smoothly and the characters are well written the right mix of details and descriptions to form mental images of them. The dialogue was well written without it feeling stiff or like reading a transcript which you find sometimes with new authors.

This book should appeal to YA and adult fans of the fantasy and magic genres.

A thrilling story filled with magic and wonder that will keep you turning the page until the very end. Walker's first foray into the world of fantasy is masterfully done as Lily/Theola and the world of Ziagonmia come to life in the pages. Simplistic at times, but a quick read with fast paced action and strong dialogue that make this story an overall joy to read. I would highly recommend the Finding to any reader of fantasy or fiction. My only complaint is that the next book is not yet available and I can't wait to find out what happens next!
