"Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak."- Matthew 26:41
"Just give me the night, Father, and you'll be praying to me." A demon's whisper echoes from Killian's lips, threatening eternity. With each sensual word out of the demon's perfect mouth, my devotion unravels. I was sent to expel the demon from Killian's body, not surrender to its darkness. Forbidden desire ignites, challenging sacred vows and unleashing a passion that could damn my soul forever. This desire burns so deep in me, it rivals the flames of Hell. It threatens to destroy everything I hold sacred, and yet, I can't walk away from Killian. My faith wavers and my vows are tested – forever shattered by the sin I’m about to commit with him.
Unholy is a dark, taboo M/M spicy romance not for the faint of heart or the sound of faith. For a complete list of content warnings, check the inside of the book or my website.
L.M. Archer was first drawn to writing as a way to express my feelings when oftentimes, she found that she couldn’t say them out loud. That’s why her writing is more on the dark side of the romance spectrum. She tends to write in a way that showcases real scenarios and events. Her books tackle mental health, moral values, religion and many other topics that are raw and real.
Archer is not afraid to make her readers look at the darker side of humanity and question the very foundation of life and existence. The topics in her books can be triggering, but she is a firm believer that you need to shed light on certain situations. Keeping them in the dark only hurts more.
“But I’ll burn in Hell if I choose you!” I scream, my voice raw with emotions as a steady stream of tears fall down my cheeks. “Then I’ll set fire to my body, so you won’t burn alone.”
Im honestly not sure what I was expecting going into this, but I am blown away.
“But I’ll burn in Hell if I choose you!” I scream, my voice raw with emotions as a steady stream of tears fall down my cheeks. “Then I’ll set fire to my body, so you won’t burn alone.”
If you think Priest is bad, you are in for a rude awakening with this book.
This book would make a lot of people mad and I'm here for it. A priest goes to a exorcism and ends up sleeping with the demon? Yeah it's that book. But man it was everything.
I was hooked on this book from page 1. Father aka Levi believed God was there for him and always protecting him. I love how Killian opened his eyes, even if it took him a while to get there. This book was so well done and showed how Levi didn't give up on God easily. Like I said this book would make a lot of people mad.
Listen guys - this is probably one of the best content warnings I've ever read. They said what they said, K? If you can't handle it then don't read it.
Immediately want to read it again! This has got to be one of the sluttiest books I've EVER read. For the record it's mostly spice. I will say, I like a good bit of "I'll do anything for you to see you're my savior".
There was solid back and forth between Killian and Levi. They had so much chemistry and honestly I can appreciate how "humany" Killian was becoming the more he wanted Levi. It's obsessive, blasphemous, sexy as all hell but actually still really fuckin sweet. How many lovers have you ever had that will go through trials for their soul to prove that you're worth anything and everything? HUH!
The ending was sucky… I don’t think I needed all the detail of the trial, but the story is amazing. The integration of the prayers and what it meant for them is peak unholiness.
This book was a good read. One of the main characters goes through a deep internal emotional struggles. The other character is complex. There’s plenty of spicy moments.
I was a little skeptical the first few pages of this book if I was going to like it. Spoiler I ended up loving it. It tackles some heavy emotions and topics surrounded around religion which can be hard for some people to read. I enjoyed all of the emotions and trials and angst this book had. I felt like both sides were represented well and definitely give’s you some things to think about and ponder.
Absolutely obsessed with this book it’s sexy, smart, and surprisingly emotional in all the best ways.
Levi’s mission is to cast out the demon possessing Killian, but nothing goes according to plan… unless the plan is to fall under a demon’s spell, because wow. The heat between them is off the charts. Think: sinful, forbidden, deliciously dangerous.
But what really got me was how much heart this story had. Killian’s demon side falling in love? Yes, please. The layers of redemption, internal struggle, and learning to let go of prejudice hit so hard. Both MMCs had such powerful moments of self-reflection, and I found myself rooting for them beyond the spicy scenes (which, by the way, sizzle).
Also, the way the Easter themes were woven in? Subtle, meaningful, and perfect for the timing of the release.
Honestly, it was one of those books where I finished and immediately wanted to start over. A fiery, emotional ride from start to finish.
- MM - Priest/demon - Unholy use of holy artifacts - Dub con - BDSM - Pain play/fighting - Straight smut turned actually romantic
Oh. My. God. (pun intended lol). This was so hot honestly. The start to this book was insane and had me hooked immediately, I had no clue what direction the plot would take or if it would be straight smut, but there was a super creative plot that happened and this book turned really romantic.
“Forgive me, Father, for I have sinned.” Killian drops to his knees, and before I can stop him, my pants are shoved down around my ankles and my cock is deep inside Killian’s throat.
“Sometimes you have to touch white clothes with ink. That’s how words and art are produced. You would never have an inspirational painting unless someone was willing to dirty up the blank canvas,”
Do not read this book if you are religious lol. If you love a smutty priest book though, it’s a MUST read.
When I say this book is all kinds of hot . . .I mean, burning in hell hot!🔥🔥🔥
Levi is tasked with exorcising the demon out of Killian, but nothing appears to work, and Levi seems to be under his spell.
Only the demon side of Killian has fallen in love! In this tale of love, redemption, battling our own inner prejudices and acceptance, this steamy, kinky, loving story reveals the depths to which we will go for true love!
I loved this book, the writing flowed beautifully, the self reflection from each MMC was insightful, and the way the Easter story was woven in was perfect for its release date on Good Friday!
If you are religious and do not like reading anything with sacrilege/ blasphemy. Turn around, walk away, and do not look back. This is not the book for you.. However, if you are like me with zero triggers and love Taboo procede forward because holy hot hell 🔥 literally, there is a demon ( Killian.) you start routing for pretty early on in the story. And a priest (Levi) who begins questioning everything. Levi and Killian have some hot and dirty scenes that will leave you thinking about taking yourself to confession and maybe saying a few roasarys, and it's completely worth it..
Levi is called in to perform an exorcism on Killian. However it turns out that Killian isn't just possessed but is actually half demon. The exorcism fails but the 2 have a sexual interlude for a day or so. 3 months pass and Killian finds Levi in his church and again engage on a sexual interlude. I enjoy taboo books but for those who are religious I would avoid.
This was my favourite read so far this year. I really enjoyed the story and the spice was just right. Once I started reading, I couldn't put it down. Definitely recommend for MM romance lovers
This is an easy, short and enjoyable, spicy mm romance between a priest and a demon with a HEA.
The story has a lot of typical Catholic blasphemous imagery, including several reworded prayers, so if that's not your jam ... :) I found it fascinating and creative. The spice is nice, mostly consensual and medium graphic.
The story can also be interpreted as a showdown and reconning with the Catholic church's prejudice and discrimination towards LHBTQA, and even the "birth" of an atheist.
The characters could have had more depths and the story been more elaborate, but my preferred romances are usually at least 500 pages :D I totally get that a lot of people prefer shorter stories and I like this one. It "lingers" nicely in my brain.
I received this book for free as an ARC so the few misspellings and some "clumsy" sentences will probably be fixed by the publication date. I think I will go and see if I can find more of this author, I like the style ...
Damn, I'm not even Christian, but all the religious turmoil got to me.
The book was truly interesting, but many aspects were rushed.
Killian became obsessed with Levi in 0.3 seconds, which doesn't really make sense. He insinuated that he knew Levi, but that was never clearly explained.
Levi was clinging to his faith for most of the book, so it felt weird that he suddenly decided to forsake God. I wish there had been hints of it, that we'd seen him starting to have an increasing amount of doubt. I know that he'd been in complete denial, but it didn't seem realistic.
There's a lot of telling instead of showing in the last part, and that was also a shame.
WHEWWWWWWW CHILD SOMEONE GET ME A FAN ASAP BC ITS HOT IN HERE!!
This was absolute filth and I ate every second of it up. A demon & a priest?? Prayer as dirty talk?? An actual baptism while getting off? Being tied to a cross?? YES MA'AM
The beginning packed more of a punch for me than the ending, but I loved this. I had the best time reading it.
If you're looking for a HOT, quick, dirty read that's all spice/minimal plot, I HIGHLY recommend.
Lev and Killian. I was intrigued at the idea of reading a story about a priest and a demon after seeing this book recommendation pop up on my social media. While the book did deliver a very unholy experience it could have benefited from better character development and a longer timeline. There were also several typos/editing errors in the book.
Okay so.... Priest and a demon... Yea, I'm all about that! This was great! The spice was hot! And kinda fucked up at time 😂 also if you are religious this book might not be for you! I loved the end and redemption for Killian! Love is love! So worth the quick (slightly WTF) read!
Told in dual POV, 1st person, it can be read as a standalone novella. This is a short, taboo, and steamy read. I’m not a religious person, but even for me, some parts were a bit hard to read. So, if you’re religious, proceed with caution, hope you enjoy it!
Spicy MM Priest vs Demon romance. Interesting story line, good character dynamics and great spicy scenes 🥵. A few grammatical errors throughout the book, but still well presented.
