If I Scream, the bad man said, my mom and dad will wind up DEAD
Twenty-two years ago, she vanished into the wilderness. The man who found her never let her go. Until she ran. Until she lost herself again. Now, a spree killer is stalking the town. Detective Ward is chasing shadows. As the body count rises, the past begins to bleed into the present. And the girl who once vanished may unlock the killer's identity.
I was shocked when the main character dies at the beginning of the book. I almost decided not to read it because I didn't think it would be interesting without the character. It's sad that "Little Cloud" never really had a chance to enjoy her freedom after being in the basement for so many years. I liked the way the book had chapters which went into detail of "Little Cloud's" past and then other chapters telling current events. I never found it confusing to go back and forth and enjoyed getting to know the characters. This was a good book with twists and turns. Definitely an enjoyable read.
