Heir of the Haloed Sun is a spellbinding debut YA romantasy filled with magic, adventure, royal mysteries and romance. The rich world building and strong writing pulled me in right away, and I found myself completely unable to put this book down. You can really see the love and heart author H. C. Lane wove into these pages.
I easily fell in love with the world of Emeriz and its lovable characters, and especially Frederick and Temperance. He’s a charming monarch with a tragic past. She literally crossed worlds to stumble into his. Their meet-cute was fun, funny and swoony. They quickly develop a friendship filled with playfulness, tension and banter for days, all while slowly falling for each other. Both know their way around a sword, too, which added a fun element to the story. Frederick is one fine book boyfriend, especially when he says, “my lady.”
I am obsessed with this debut book. If you love fairytales, adventure, prophecies and enchanting romances, you will love HOTHS. Thank you so much for a copy of this eARC! I am ready to be whisked away again to Emeriz in book 2. This is a series I can definitely see myself rereading.

This story was a beautifully told YA romantasy. I really enjoyed the world building, the magic, the action, and the little connected twists!
I loved being in the world Emeriz and reading the connections of Temperance and Frederick. Although this is considered YA I didn’t feel like the characters were dumb and stupid like other YA books! 😆The author wrote them in a perfect way!
There aren’t any spicy scenes, but the tension between the characters was great that spice wasn’t needed!
I am excited to see where their story goes next!

Lane is an enchantress, weaving a story brimming with mystery and magic, love and adventure. I devoured this sweet romance between a young king and the girl that literally crossed worlds to stumble into his life. Heir of the Haloed Sun is a must read for believers of fairy tales and anyone that wishes to fall heart-first into the land of Emeriz.

Hoth is like sitting down with your favorite book on a rainy day— comforting and quietly powerful. H. C Lane’s romantasy is brimming with swoon-worthy moments, especially those irresistible ‘my lady’ lines… someone hand me a fan, because I’m absolutely melting.
The land of Emeriz has burrowed into my soul. These characters remind us of what we long for as humans—a place to call home and love. Temperance shows how others can be impacted by the choices we make. I cried reading the ending —happy tears, but tears nonetheless. It reminded me of falling in love for the first time- the butterflies, the banter, the longing, and the aching curiosity about how the other person feels. I can’t wait to read more of H.C Lane’s works!

A fantastical first book by H. C. Lane. Once I started reading this story I couldn't put it down. All the characters were well developed and their growth throughout the story was well done with room to grow in future books. There was plenty of action, adventure, found family, and magic. The chemistry between Temperance and Frederick was tangible and both characters were very likable and engaging. And I loved how H. C. Lane brilliantly wove her world building beautifully, creatively and magically throughout the story. I really enjoyed reading this book and I highly recommend reading it!

This clean debut YA romantasy was unbelievably good! I seriously stayed up until 2 o’clock in the morning to finish this novel. Why would I do that? You may ask? Because the world building was so spectacular that I felt like I was traveling through the land of Emeriz myself, the swoon worthy moments between Frederick and Temperance was beyond enchanting, and the royal mysteries surrounded by magic had my attention in a chokehold! To say that I loved Heir of the Haloed Sun would be an understatement. I truly can’t wait to read book number two!

Great Book! Wonderful Book! Clean Book! Anyone can read it! Great for your teenager or young adult or any age! It takes you to a world you dream of going to someday and fall in love with characters that you feel like you know! I would laugh, cry and gasp throughout it. It really is wonderful and magical and beautifully written. I felt like I was apart of this book. I CANNOT wait for more!!!

H.C. Lane's debut novel, Heir of the Haloed Sun, is absolutely breathtaking. Prepare to be whisked away to a world so beautifully written and well thought out that you'll wish it was a real place you could visit. Filled with magic, memorable characters, action, humor, magical creatures, and a very swoony yet clean romance you can't get enough of, this book will have you gripped by the neck until the very last page.

Absolutely fantastic read! I loved every minute of the journey. A magical world, a sweet romance, and a wonderful story. I can not wait for the journey to continue!
