The prophecy says she’ll reject him…

Trager was only a wolfling when he was given a devastating foretelling by the pack elders, and tossed from his family home in the Ozark Mountains. A wolf who can’t secure a mate will only endanger the pack. Destined to be denied by his mate, he’s been on his own ever since, surviving, waiting... hunting her. Now that he’s found her, he has a plan. A threat from a rival pack will have him returning home in hopes of saving the very people who cast him out. But he can’t go alone. He’ll have to convince the woman who doesn’t want him, to help.

His wolf will make her an offer she can’t refuse…

It’s been a year since she lost the love of her life in a tragic motorcycle accident, and Kerrigan is finally ready to move on. Especially since she was never the love of his. A roughened biker who’s hot enough to stop her breath is the very last thing she’s looking for. But apparently he’s been looking for her, and even with her unwanted extra pounds, he looks at her like she sets his world on fire. To be accepted, wanted, as she is, is her deepest secret desire. But is it worth it to risk her heart again with someone who could so easily crush it?

Short intro to the series about prophesies giving direction to the pack. For the H a prophesy caused him to be thrown out. When he meets the human h, he learns she's not been valued by OM. She has a lot of trope-type issues, so even though he shares his story she decides to leave him. I guess it fits her character, but it made her seem selfish and silly. Only 3 stars for silly h and HFN ending.

This is an unfinished book. I feel like it could have been a five star read if it were a hundred pages longer. The plot characters and pace were great. Until about 70% of the book. It sort of fell apart there and never picked back up. The story just randomly ends leaving the plot wiiiiiiiiiide open. Ill read book 2 in the hopes it will answer some open ended plot points. If it doesn't, I won't continue the series.

This book was such a waste of time. I got to the four chapter and decided to find a better book to read. First of all, his mate is going to deny him and his pack kicks him out because of some prophecy then, he tries to help and they refuse his help and treat him like crap. I'm sorry but this book couldn't hold my interest. I skimmed through most of the chapters. I thought about skipping to book 2 but I refuse to waste more time.

Trager is a wolf shifter who was kicked out of his pack after it was prophesied when he was a baby that his mate would reject him. He spends the majority of his life trying to find her, and when he does, he does his best to woo her and just tries to be accepted by the woman who is supposed to be his mate and his happily ever after.

Trager was immediately my favorite, but then his character went flat. In the beginning, he was funny, dramatic, and relatable, but as the story progressed, he lost his personality.

Trager's mate, Kerrigan, is really annoying at first. Their first meeting she literally goes all Karen on him because she holds a grudge against motorcyclists. She was a real bitch to him, especially after he was almost killed in a construction accident! And then she has the gall to give him a fake name during introductions—the name of a beer no less. 🙄

This book was okay, but nothing special.

P. Jameson worked some mighty magic with her books. "A Mate's Denial" is proof of her magic in her writing. She took an idea and made it into an AWESOME book. Trager and Kerrigan's story is one where both parties are faced with tragedy and yet because they found love with each other they are able to over come the obstacles in their way.

Trager is a lone wolf living a lie because his clan thought he was useless so they kicked out of the clan. Since Trager had gotten wind of possible trouble for his clan he is making plans to return to his clan in order to warn them of impending trouble. He has been living alone and then one day on his way home he runs into a woman stranded on the side of the road in a broke down car. This woman will help him get into warn his clan but she has to be convinced first. So his wolf makes her an offer she cannot refuse.

Kerrigan is adjusting to loss of her boyfriend in an automobile accident a year ago. She has decided to let this strange biker dude help her since her car quit running. Thing that worries her is this man is looking at her and curves like she is his next meal. She wants to have someone in her life to love and share things with. Can she trust him?

Not gonna give away any secrets. Your going to have to read this to believe it. Oh will tell you this, if you like mayham and mind boggling sex, then you need to read this book.

My first book by this author, hopefully not my last. I enjoyed the characters. Hero is an alpha while remaining kind and loving. Heroine doesn't balk at the challenge of finding out he's not all human. I l-o-v-e-d when she gave his family the comeuppance they deserved for acting like idiots over a dumb prophecy.

Trager is a wolf shifter who was kicked out of his pack when he was just 12 years old because the elders had a vision that he would be rejected by his mate and therefore he would be of no use to the pack. He was just a boy but he made it and then he meets Kerrigan years later. She is still hurting and mistrustful because of an ex-boyfriend and doesn't trust Trager at first. But he's was so sweet, attentive and persistent that Kerrigan ends up spending time with him and seeing that he is actually nothing like the rough biker type that he looks like.

When Trager is told by someone that his old pack is in danger, he wants to help since his family is still there. The same family that turned their backs on him but he still wants to help them. But the alpha of the pack is a nasty piece of work. I didn't realize just how nasty this alpha was until the end of the book but yeah, he's not a nice guy.

Watching Trager and Kerrigan get to know one another after she finds out he's a wolf shifter was fun even though there are some missteps on both of their parts. Like I've said before, you have to be able to communicate your concerns if you are going to be in a relationship otherwise there will be problems.

My only problem with this book was that it ended on a cliffhanger. The story was great. The characters were really good and I want to read the next book, I just hope it doesn't end of a cliffhanger too.

This paranormal romance features Trager and Kerrigan. Wolf shifter Trager was cast from his pack after a prophecy foretold his make would deny him. However, a rival alpha plans to invade the Ozarks and Trager wants to warn his former packmates. Meanwhile Kerrigan’s trust fund was taken by her last boyfriend, now her job was downsized, and she must return home to Alaska to regroup. Both people feel broken or traumatized and find shelter in one another. The novel is too short for those ideas to be more than outlines and tropes, but at least the main couple has real conversations, good intentions for the other, and their expedited timeline on bonding is caused by external forces. Kerri’s last freak out and attempt to run away seems a bit cruel after being told he can’t have another at this point—but it reflects her own insecurities. The problem I have is with the other side of the main story. I hate the Ozark pack. They steal brides, kick out children, ignore threats, insult and molest “guests,” lie, and murder people. Given that we can’t be expected to like them, but Trager just makes things worse for himself and his mate by trying to help them over and over. Worse we don’t even resolve that part of the story leaving it for future entries. The writing itself is okay, but given my lack of investment in the side characters this was disappointing.

Trager has been a lone wolf since his pack kicked him out at the age of twelve because of a prophecy that his mate will reject him. Now his former pack is in danger, and they won't listen to him unless he produces his mate. Kerrigan has lost her job, and unable to find a new one, she is faced with having to go back home. Meeting a hot biker was the last thing on her mind.

Hmm. This book was okay, but not great. The writing itself was fairly good, but the story and characters let it down. For a werewolf and a biker, Trager was far too soft, to the point of being... well, a wimp. I tended to feel sorry for him, and he was just too pathetic to be attractive. Meanwhile, Kerrigan's constant talking herself down got seriously annoying really quickly. Her behaviour toward the end was infuriating. With everything she knew, her actions were horribly cruel, and everything could have been sorted with a simple conversation.

While the ending wasn't exactly a cliffhanger, it did feel quite unsatisfying. It just didn't grab my attention enough to keep me interested.

Nice piece. “Broken” characters can still find “happily ever after”.
Sex and some curse language.

Future SERIES spoiler here.
As sweet and almost hopeful this story had made me that we can have a shifter story with a “broken” heroine who can’t have children…one of the next stories goes and ruins my in depth analysis aaaand Kerrigan miraculously has a child.
Jeesh. I have yet to read one fiction piece in paranormal genre that the one who can’t have kids suddenly can.
Is it impossible to make this what I had hoped, a situation where the “broken” really can find the happily ever after as Jamison had made me think.
As someone who was told very early on she could not have children and heard the “broken” and “no man would want you” it would be nice if once a character in paranormal could be such and stay that way AND still find happiness.
Ok. Rant over. I also changed this original review.

***SLIGHT SPOILERS!!!***

This was an interesting story. It followed Trager, whose pack threw him out as a twelve-year-old when it was prophesized that his mate would reject him. Said mate was Kerrigan, a woman who had been hurt badly and had to learn to trust. I liked Trager's willingness to do whatever it took to make Kerrigan comfortable with him, and that he went against his wolf's instincts to rush things with her. The plot revolved around these two getting to know one another, and Trager trying to save his sister from a rival pack. The problem was, he had to get Kerrigan on board without scaring her off. I found it unique that Kerrigan was unable to have kids. There was no magical cure, and that's not something I've seen done often in paranormal romance novels, particularly shifters. Overall, this was a quick read with likable characters.

A Mate’s Denial

Trager has been cast out from his pack due to a prophecy. But now, after looking for so long, he’s finally found his mate and he’s determined to prove the prophecy from and help his former pack. But Kerrigan, his mate, is human and time is running out.

I ended up really enjoying this one! Trager isn’t what he seems at first, he’s actually a big softie, and Kerrigans strength came to play just when it needed to. I hated the pack and for once, I’m glad that the pack was “the bad guy” in this. It created an interesting dynamic and I enjoyed exploring that.

Seeing also the vulnerability on both Tra and Kerri was wonderful and their interactions were really good. I definitely wouldn’t have minded more of them.

Tropes:
Werewolves and pack dynamics
Fated mates
Paranormal aspects
Insta-love

A prophecy foretold. Can Trager and Kerrigan stop the heartache destined for them both?

It was a nice easy read. I enjoyed the characters and the angst.

Trager was exiled from his pack, at the tender age of 12, because of a prophecy foretold by the elders. His mate would reject him and he would be childless.
Harsh!
Kerrigan had been treated like trash by her previous boyfriend, Evan. He made her feel disgusting and called her broken.

She is his mate. But she's a human. Would she accept him if she knew. Would she reject him, like the prophecy said?

He needed to stop a war between his old pack and a rival one, but to do that, he needs her to accept him as her mate.

Will she learn that she is worthy and that Trager can heal her heart, or are they just doomed from the start.

This wasn't for me. Not to say there was anything particularly wrong with it. It just wasn't for me.

I still really like this author and intend to read other series by her. Just not this one. I think for me, there were just too many people here that we were supposed to hate. I mean, basically the entire pack that Trager is trying to protect. I certainly wouldn't have helped them. Not after the way they acted.

I liked the main characters, I did like them. Really happy with the way the acted and were portrayed. They were amazing. It's just... the rest of them. Didn't like any of the rest of them. Not interested in possibly trying to see if the next book can change my mind. (Sorry, but not sorry.)

I do recommend giving it a try, it might work for you. It just didn't work for me.

Quick and easy read

This was cute and well written. It is building the plot for the rest of the series. I only gave 3 stars because the story felt rushed and the characters seemed to need more development. I wanted more of their story and who they were. They went from complete strangers to mates with little to no build up or time. The main female character just blindly accepted that shifters existed and she was mated to one and had to save a whole pack without any hesitation. I personally would have ruled this to be a little more flushed out and the characters reactions more realistic. Overall it is a quick and easy hea read and I did enjoy it.

Short but good

I really enjoyed this one, but I felt like so much more could have been added to it. Perhaps more is in the rest of the series, but I don't feel like that's the end of Kerri and Trager's story. Maybe she could only have kids with her mate? Maybe she and he build something special together? There are so many avenues that were left open that I felt it was incomplete. It was so good but I just wanted more. Maybe because it was so shirt, but I do think it was mostly because it didn't seem finished.

Great start to a new series.

I really loved Trager. He was a sweet, caring, protective mate, and he was exactly what Kerrigan needed after what she had been through. Trager's pack and family didn't deserve him. I loved how the author didn't make above macho Alpha or a mysterious dangerous line wolf like so many others. This was definitely a great read, and I'm looking forward to the next book.

😍😍😍

Oh my. Even though this story is a not full of dramatic events and all but I had so much fun reading this one. The writing is so tastefully done that I just couldn't stop reading. Poor Trager, such a hot and handsome guy witha heart of gold but condemned to a fate without a mate. I felt Kerrigan was perfect for him. Two broken hearts coming together in to perfect harmony. I can't wait to read more of this series. Especially with that ending. ❤️❤️

Thinking outside of the box

as a side note I'd just like to say that I love the names in this book- they are different from the typical and over used for the romance/shifter genres.

The story line is pretty good and is different from the very beginning. I'd have liked a bit more fight or resistance from Kerrigan but otherwise was pleased. The lone wolf here is painted in a very atypical fashion and makes the tale all that much more enjoyable.

Fast paced

This PNR was fast paced full of steam and love.

We get insight on pack dynamic for the Ozarka Pack. Lots of unanswered questions tht probably have tales of their own.

As with any mate story you see the bind and the insta lust.

The ending was bit rushed to for me and alluded to a HEA but we didn’t get that epilogue confirmation. Perhaps in later stories we will get glimpses of their HEA.

All in all I enjoyed it and will head to next book in series.

Conflict between the two really occurs near the end and is because the 2 people assume things about the other. If they would just actually talk.....

It's been foretold that his mate will deny him. Because of that, he's kicked out of the pack. He's useless to them.

She's his mate and she accepts that he's a shifter and needs her quicker than might seem reasonable. Denial doesn't seem in the cards until she realizes that he would love a big family and she can't give him one.

Well...

I have always knew ...

I'm more into pale-white, shimmering vampires more than a big dog?

Putting the Twilight references aside, this wasn't a terrible book it was just rushed. Too short to give you the impact of their chemistry Kerrigan and Trager.

And the "mate" call sign is just not doing it for me like "How's my mate doing?" "I'll do anything for my mate" and all I project in my head is an eye patch wearing Pirate

Not gonna leave a rating just to be fair ✨

Good story

She was never supposed to care, so the prophecy went. He couldn't give up on her loving him lest the Pack that disowned him be ravaged by an old threat. After all, they were still his family and he still loved them. Trager and Kerrigan overcame but the threat is not over. The remaining books in the series look interesting. Bundle please and I'm all in.

Thought I would like these two and their bidding relationship but the people they are surrounded by are truly horrible, reprehensible beings. They just killed any good vibes for me and I will not be continuing this series. No happy ending here just kills any appreciation I might have had for this.

I enjoyed this quick read, but there are issues. The mail one is the complete lack of communication. I absolutely hate stories where the driver of the plot is two people - supposedly in love - refusing to act like adults and actually talk to each other. Otherwise the story is good, the devotion of the man is obvious throughout.
