Fae Wars returns on a new front as war rages in the Pacific Northwest!
Corporal Erik Doherty isn't some kind of special operations super soldier; he’s just an infantry grunt trying to get by in what was once the United States Army, now an enforcement arm of the Fae overlords. When orders come down from a chain of command more interested in boot licking their new masters than protecting American citizens, he has to make the choice. To serve and live, or run and die?
Ashleigh Greene is a teenage girl with a price on her head, the Fae looking for retribution for the killing of one of their nobles. As her hometown burns behind her, she flees into the mist shrouded forests of the Pacific Northwest, her family killed by dragon fire and her world destroyed.
On separate paths, each human comes face to face with a haunting legend that has lived for thousands of years. One that has been waiting, watching, and hating the old enemy that has finally returned. Together, they bring war to the Fae in a battle for honor and revenge.

This was a pretty well written story, that maintained continuity and flow across the story. We got to meet Orcs, Elves, Giants, and animals that are more than they seem.
This was the first story of this series I read, but now, I want to go back and start from the beginning.
Very good story! Thank you to the authors and editors!!
I really enjoyed this book and the story it tells. When I first started reading the stories set in this universe, had problems humans being on the back foot- I'm more of a fan of HFY type stories. Still, the setting eventually grew on me, and this story really got me fired up and looking forward to more tales told in the West. I really recommend this book!
A wonderful story about how true love can conquer thousands of years, cross dimensions, and still have a sense of humor, but only if you’re a Sasquatch. This non-fictional biography of the greatest love story ever told is unfortunately short on details about the two main characters, as all great biographies are, Gun’ger’link’tin “Gunny” and Va’Leah. (You may be familiar with Gunny’s non-sasquatch website Linktin, which helps professionals connect and find jobs in the exciting metallurgy industry.) There are a host of other characters with names that do stuff as well, but they just serve as a well written, highly detailed and thoroughly enjoyable backdrop to the real story here: Sasquatches live a long time and love each other a lot.
Charli Cox is quite simply a genius with the pen and the surgical precision with which she deploys her words, like scalpels doing scalpely things, and not at all like scalpels doing unscalpely things will amaze and astound even the most jaded of souls.
J.F. Holmes is clearly related to a lesser-known relative named Sherlock. Brilliance runs in their family and it’s a shame poor cousin Sherlock did not posses even a 1/10th of the intelligence and wit J.F. shows. He could’ve really made something of himself, if he had.
I highly recommend investing your time and money to purchase this love story!
This reads more like some young adult novel. I kept looking forward to a bad ass big food and giant showdown. Which there supposedly was but we barely got o see any of it besides a giant grabbing a dragon by the neck and snapping its neck. Barely got big food action too. Initially I was excited but it turned out to be some giant/bigfoot comedy with an annoying/cute teenager and young soldiers that didn’t know what to do during an occupation. I was close to giving it a 4 star but not writing the best part of a series … was just sad. We didn’t even get to see the “brother bear” kill and eat any elves! Or talk about how they tasted?!? I feel like I was robbed when something started off good.
J. F. Holmes did not write this one. He is why I started it. But I had to skim thru it for a totally pointless ending. The character development was horrendous. It is hard to express how badly this one is written. Mr Holmes may have started the Fae Wars series but he might want to divest if this is how it will continue. Yikes.
