Flamenco Basics
Book contains beginner level instruction on arm gestures, palmas, step rhythms, and castanet playing plus a simplified overview of the "Sevillanes" choreography. Includes a dance demonstration DVD with two versions of the Sevillanes so the rhythms and styling may be observed. The first is a solo performance by Ameena Jamal; the second, two sets of partners - male/female. While the routines are of great instructional significance, both were videotaped by the respective clients of those two shows and are of mediocre quality.
