*Reviewer for Paranormal Romance and Authors that Rock* Hold on to your seats for this mouth watering trilogy of books from Sarah Makela , In the first of the trilogy The Witch Who Cried Wolf, we meet Mia brooks a very reluctant witch with powers she tries to hold In check and a huge crush on her Brothers best friend Ethan, Mia is now pursued by werewolves who she didn't even no existed. In the second book Cold Moon Rising we meet Kelly a normal college girl who defiantly knows what she wants and that's to SURVIVE her final exams , and to find a good man to share her life with, lately Mia is finding it so hard to study with her friend Jacob and to keep her feelings at bay, but what she doesn't no is Jacob is feeling the same. In the final of this trilogy The Wolf Who Played With Fire We meet back up with previous character which tie in the questions we have from the previous books and we also meet Jessa whose life now changed forever. Can Mia save the life of her beloved mentor and Soldier boyfriend Ethan and make things right? This trilogy was well written and flowed nicely together i just wish that the first book was longer with just a little bit more content to add more spice to the story, the characters worked well together through out all 3 books, and if i had to pick a favorite it would be Ethan he seems so sexy and raw a man you would definitely not kick out of the bedroom ....... lol once i hit book two i could see where the story line was going and the path it was going to take so i could not say it kept me guessing much, but on that note i still wanted these characters to all have there happy endings, My Favorite part was when Mia and Ethan were trying to get it on in the shower when her brother appeared it made me laugh the angst and the fright factor both characters had. after book 3 had finished i was desperately wanting an epilogue to tie in all lose endings and found it frustrating there wasn't one, I wanted More in summary a good series definitely worth a go at reading, i would suggest this series of books to adults only because of some of the content, 3 out of 5 fangs
This was a great read had everything you want. Love ,friendship, loyalty. Family new an old together for a cause to fine an rescue those they love. one more in this series at this time the Scots going home. Got the next love this story.

I read each of the books when it was originally released and loved them all. Below is my review for each. **The Witch Who Cried Wolf, Book One: Wow! Sweet magical goodness! The Witch Who Cried Wolf is the first book in the Cry Wolf Series by Sarah Makela and it totally Rocks! I loved it! Mia Brooks is a witch albeit a very reluctant one, especially since none of her family knew of her magical abilities. Her grandmother was a powerful witch and she could be powerful as well if she would just accept her destiny and practice her craft, at least according to her friend and fellow witch, Jessa. So when Mia's magic gets a little mixed up while making a healing salve for one of Jessa's customers, supernatural forces are unleashed and she's suddenly neck deep in werewolves and trouble! Oh my! Things just couldn't get any worse! Or could they? Yep, they could! Her brother's best friend and her secret childhood crush, Ethan Parker, is home from overseas deployment for Christmas! She just couldn't let Ethan find out her secret! But when danger comes out to play, Mia has to reveal her magic to Ethan. She's wanted Ethan for so long and now he'll hate her! Or would he? What Mia doesn't know is Ethan has wanted her too, since they were kids! What? Now throw in an obnoxious boyfriend that Mia just can't seem to get rid of and what a recipe for disaster! Will Mia be able to protect herself and Ethan from the evil that threatens or will they both become victims of werewolf violence? Will Mia and Ethan finally be able to admit their love for each other? Oh my! Sparks fly! Fate and love just can not be denied! The story is exciting, powerful, thrilling, magical, sweet, funny, romantic and arousing. The dialogue is smart, sassy and well written. The characters are adorable, captivating, fascinating and sexy. Makela combines these elements as only she can with her amazing skill to produce an extraordinary read! Sexy werewolfs-check! **Cold Moon Rising, Book Two: Wow! I love it! Cold Moon Rising is the second release in the Cry Wolf series by Sarah Makela and it totally ROCKS! Makela's amazing talent, incredible skill and unique style shine brightly in this exhilarating tale of suspense, fantasy and paranormal romance. The story is exciting, original, imaginative, thrilling, action packed, suspenseful, gripping, riveting, powerful, compelling, romantic, sweet, sensual and steamy. The dialog is smart, well written, crisp and flows effortlessly. The characters are fascinating, captivating, engaging, intriguing, endearing and sexy. Jacob and Kelly are just your ordinary college students with only one thing in mind - well maybe two things - passing their final exams and their growing attraction for each other. Except Jacob is far from ordinary and definitely not normal. Jacob is a werewolf and it's becoming more and more difficult for him to control his lust for the beautiful Kelly and to make matters worse, he can smell her arousal. Oh my! Jacob wants her and the full moon only fuels his hunger for her to a fevered blaze. But Kelly is mistaken for a female werecat and is abducted by evil scientists and taken to a guarded high-tech facility. Can Jacob use his enhanced senses to find Kelly and will he be able to rescue her before it's too late? Danger abounds and the suspense builds! Oh my! Sexy werewolf-check! Beautiful college girl-check! Heinous villains and evil scientists-check! Kidnapping, danger and suspense-check! Romance and sex-check! This novella does end in a cliffhanger that I never saw coming so I can hardly wait to read the next book in the series! A deliciously entertaining read!
**The Wolf Who Played With Fire, Book Three: Wow! Sweet magical goodness! The Wolf Who Played With Fire is the third book in the Cry Wolf Series by Sarah Makela and it totally rocks! I loved it! Makela has once again demonstrated her amazing talent and incredible imagination by delivering another explosive addition to this exciting series. In Book One we learn that Mia Brooks is a witch albeit a very reluctant one, especially since none of her family knew of her magical abilities. Her grandmother was a powerful witch and she could be powerful as well if she would just accept her destiny and practice her craft, at least according to her friend, mentor and fellow witch, Jessa. So when Mia's magic gets a little mixed up while making a healing salve for one of Jessa's customers, supernatural forces are unleashed and she's suddenly neck deep in werewolves and trouble! Oh my! Things just couldn't get any worse! Or could they? Yep, they could! Her brother's best friend and her secret childhood crush, Ethan Parker, is home from deployment. She just couldn't let Ethan find out her secret! But when danger comes out to play, Mia has to reveal her magic to Ethan and what ensues is an undeniable recipe for disaster! Ethan has been bitten and despite Mia's best efforts, Ethan is becoming a werewolf. What? Everyone knows that witches and werewolves are mortal enemies - or are they? Fate just can not be denied and neither can their mutual love and attraction for each other! Now in Book Three, Ethan quickly finds himself caught up in the rescue of one of his new pack members and of course, Mia being the witch she is, must step up to the plate to prove to Ethan's new pack that she's not the enemy by helping to rescue Ethan and another member of the pack, Jacob Armstrong, a werewolf college student we meet in Book Two who has been captured and being held prisoner in a secret research facility. Oh my! Will be Mia be able to convince the wolves that she can be trusted ? Will Ethan and Jacob be rescued before it's too late? Will Mia and Ethan finally be able to enjoy a relationship and be together despite his pack and her family's objections? Shazam! Let the magic begin! The story is exciting, thrilling, magical, sweet, funny, romantic and arousing. The dialogue is smart, sassy and well written. The characters are adorable, captivating, fascinating, engaging and sexy. Makela combines these elements as only she can with her amazing skill to produce an extraordinary read! Sexy werewolves-check! Beautiful witch-check! Suspense, danger, action, romance and angst-you bet! I loved it! Fantastic entertainment and a magical read!
This is the book bundle 1-3 of the Cry Wolf series by the author.
The Witch Who Cried Wolf: Book 1 This book revolves around Mia, a couple werewolves, a possessive boyfriend and Ethan, her brothers friend who she has had a crush on for years. When Mia is asked to make a healing salve for a man little did she know the man was not human. What happens next just causes all kinds of problems for Mia.
Cold Moon Rising - Book 2: Kelly and Jacob are in college and are study mates for a couple classes but 1 night Kelly is drugged and kidnapped by 2 men who think she is someone else. Jacob smells her scent and follows them to a place he thinks is a military compound as he is trying to figure out how to save her.
The Wolf Who Played With Fire - Book 3 Mia Brooks is a witch and is dealing with the fact that her mentor witch,Jessa, was almost killed by a werewolf and that her boyfriend is going to turn into a werewolf on the next full moon and the wolf pack hates her because she almost killed the alpha. Can life get any more complicated then this? Mia doesn't think so until her boyfriend starts to act different and doesn't show up 1 night to pick her up from work.
I am voluntarily leaving my honest review of this book.
I loved this book! We get to read more about Caitlyn and Dougal as well as Unna and Colin. You'll want to have read the earlier books in this series for it to make the most sense. Both couples are soooo cute! I received an ARC of this book and am leaving my honest opinion.
First three in this series. Of all Ms. Makela' s books this series has been my favorite. All end with a bit of a cliff hanger. There is action, steam with some romance woven in. Good reads all.
The Witch Who Cried Wolf (Book 1): Mia probably wishes a thousand times she had not went into her friends shop that day. If she had not mad that stop her, her family, and the man she loved would not of been in danger.
Mia had lived with a secret. One only her best friend knew and that was because they both had the same secret. Only difference is Jessa did not hide it as much as Mia did. Mia had special powers. That was something she hid from her parents and brother.
Jessa had volunteered Mia to do a healing potion for Mr. Sexy. The only thing Mr Sexy said was that it was for a friend that had lead poisoning. If only Mia would of know she was making it for a werewolf she would have not add an ingredient that would poison a werewolf.
Next thing Mia knows is she is at the airport doing her brother a favor by picking up Ethan, her brother’s best friend. A man that Mia was in love with. Now here they were being attached by a werewolf. She would of never wanted to drag Ethan in this mess. Let him know about her secret, put his life in danger, and cause him to be changed into a werewolf. Now to complicate things even more Mia is using a healing salve that she forgot she had spilt some love potion in. Will the love potion work and Ethan fall madly in love with her? Will Mia put the healing salve on Ethan in time to keep him from turning into a werewolf? Can Ethan find it in his heart to ever forgive Mia? Will Ethan be able to keep Mia safe from the werewolf that is hunting and threaten her?
There is a lot going on in this book. I love how Sarah brought 2 supernaturals together. This was a very awesome read.
Cold Moon Rsing (Book 2): Kelly wanted to get thru finals and hopeful find a guy to settle down with. Kelly really like Jacob. Problem with Jacob is he was moving way to fast. Ever thing in her seemed to be putting on the breaks. Poor Jacob knew that he could not keep his wolf at bay and would have to walk away from Kelly.
Kelly knew nothing about shifter or the supernatural world. Stuff like that is what you read in books. It was not real, right? Kelly finds herself kidnapped. Kelly was mistaken for a shapeshifter. She was having to listen to her fate being decided. Where they going to killer or try to turn her. She did not know. One thing for sure is she knew that she was not going to be set free. Would anyone miss her? Would Jacob even know she was missing.
Jacob realizing Kelly was in trouble was going to stop at nothing until her rescue her. Will Jacob get to her in time? Jacob did not realize what he was walking in to. His biggest mistake was not letting someone such as his pack know what was going on before playing super hero.
Seems like Jacob and Kelly is not going to get out of this mess. This is an awesome shifter book.
The Wolf Who Played With Fire - Book 3: I love Mia and Ethan. I have to say the author keep me on the edge of my seat during this book. It was one nail bitting book. I so love Sarah’s writing.
Mia who is a witch was tricked to to creating a potion that could kill the Alpha. During this time Ethan the guy she had been in love with forever had been bitten and now he was going to be a werewolf. This had to scare Mia to death. After he turned would he still want her would he become loyal to the pack and it drive a wedge between them? Pack hated Mia and probably even would of wanted her dead. Will Mia have to give Ethan up?
Ethan had a lot on his plate. Between on the way to becoming a werewolf he had the fear of losing Mia, His best friend Nolan was giving him the cold shoulder, he had his career in the military and plus a lot more. Sorry will have to read the book to find out what else there was.
Ethan comes up missing. Mia is the only one that has figured out he is missing. Now she must find a way to help find her werewolf lover. Can she get to him in time?
I loved this series, there was so much emotion, intrigue, deception, and betrayal going on it was hard to know who was friend or foe! I also absolutely love the characters in this series, it was thrilling to read how they all overcame the trials that came their way and never let go of love! Highly recommend it! The Witch Who Cried Wolf Mia has problems, lots of them; she has a long time crush on her brother’s best friend (of course he acts like she doesn’t exist), she can’t tell anyone she loves the truth of what she is (a witch), and she just screwed up potions and inadvertently poisoned the local pack alpha and slipped love potion tainted healing salve to Ethan. Now werewolves are trying to kill her, and everyone she cares about and her magic sucks from lack of use, can it get any worse? Mia’s day starts out by visiting her friend and witch mentor Jessa at her shop where Jessa convinces her to make a healing potion for a hot stranger who says it is needed for “lead poisoning”, ignoring the bad vibes she gets from the guy Mia agrees to do it. In the process she decides to make a double batch of the healing salve and then, thinking about Ethan coming home, she makes a love potion (not intending to use it), of course she accidentally spills the love potion in the extra healing salve in her haste and promptly forgets it. Tricked by her brother into picking up Ethan things go from bad too worse when they are attacked by a werewolf at the airport parking garage and Ethan is bitten and scratched. In an effort to prevent him from transforming into a werewolf she uses the healing salve on his injuries, then remembers it’s tainted with the love potion. Things heat up between her and Ethan but is it just the potion effect or is there really something there? She is threated by yet another werewolf, this one wants the exact opposite from her as the first one, Ethan is changing, she can’t get ahold of Jessa, and she has no idea how she can fix this. Cold Moon Rising` Kelly is your average college student and she thought Jacob was too (he’s not he’s a werewolf). They had been hanging out and studying together for months and she hoped maybe they could go to the next level, one study session she got her wish. You know how they say be careful what you wish for? Well she got it, unfortunately it went from innocent kiss to half naked way to fast and she got scared, he got frustrated and they both said things they didn’t mean. Just as she is about to go after him someone knocks and thinking maybe it is Jacob she opens up and gets kidnapped (they think she is someone else). Jacob never left the parking lot and was just about to go back when he catches her scent and that of two males and he knows something is up, he checks her apartment to find it empty and runs back in time to see a white van peel away. He follows it to a facility and comes up with a plan to get in and try to rescue her, unfortunately he gets captured. At least they put him with Kelly but she is different, and the wolf can no longer resist her, but that’s ok with her! They manage to escape and almost make it, at least he had a chance to contact his pack but only a voice mail, so now their only hope is if the pack responds and comes to rescue them. The Wolf Who Played with Fire Mia and Ethan are back and hotter than ever, they are also in more trouble than ever! In this third installment Ethan have to deal with the werewolves, mistrust, crazy scientists, waning friendships, and kidnapping all while trying to hide their relationship (and build it even though the entire world seems to be conspiring against it), and also hiding the fact Ethan is now a werewolf. Makes for some interesting situations to say the least.
Bk-1 I loved this story of Ethan the military friend that has come home on leave and is surprised to find that waiting for him at the airport is not his best friend but his best friends sister the very woman that he is in love with and has been for many yrs. when he wanted to get with Mia when they were teenagers her brother Nolan had a fit because he thought that his sister would have been used by Ethan but he was truly in love with Mia and he loved her family which took him in when his parents died and he was determined to never let Mia know that he cared for her and she had a serious love Jones for him too. At the airport parking lot something tries to attack Mia and Ethan had to fight it off and his got scratched and was bleeding and this is where this story begins for Mia and Ethan Bk-2 Cold Moon Rising is a romance mystery about a young college girl Kelly who has fallen for her study partner Jacob a werewolf unbeknownst to her at the time one night while studying they got to kissing and things almost get out of control Kelly throws Jacob out of her apartment someone knocks on the door she thinks it's Jacob but it is two guys who have come to kidnap her she tries to get away but is shot with a dart gun and then tied and put into a van which takes her to another location while in route Kelly finds out that the two guys have kidnapped the wrong person and are scared they will be killed because they have so they decide to take Kelly and use her for their own evil intent to get out of the trouble. Meanwhile Jacob has seen them is trying to catch them before they get to far away so he can rescue her but that doesn't happen and he has to go in and get himself taken and he realizes that Kelly has been bitten or scratched and she is now a werewolf to she is out of control with desire. This is a pretty good story I am waiting for the continuation of their story. Bk-3 This is the next series of Ethan and Mia's story now that Ethan is about to become a werewolf during the next full moon and Mia is still frightened but she is becoming stronger and believing in herself since she has been with Ethan but she is still to scared to tell her brother about them being a couple and Ethan accepts this so they are basically sneaking around now that she has saved the Alphas life after she almost took it because of Jared the Alphas second in command who wanted to take over the Pack but did not succeed because Chad the Alphas son came and threaten Mia into providing him a potion that would counter act the other potion. Chad wants Ethan to come and join their Pack since he was Scratched by Jared which of course was turning Ethan into a werewolf he is getting stronger he can hear better see better and all of this is scaring him because he has to go back on duty soon at the Base for work. While Mia's friend Jessa was attacked by Jared and put in the hospital now Mia is watching her store so that she will not loose money while in the hospital she spends the night with Ethan at his house which he shares with her brother and her brother came home unexpectedly while she was in the bathroom with Ethan and she jumps out of the window because she still doesn't want her brother to know she sprains her foot really bad and had to use crutches Ethan takes her to work but when he doesn't come to pick her up at the time promised she calls the werewolf Chad and tricks him into taking her to his his father's Stronghold and then it really gets wild.
This is the first book I've read by this author and I have to say that I am doing my traditional 'Happy dance' over here that I do every time I find a new author whose writing style I love to read. Yup, bootie is shakin' big time.
To start with, there are so many ideas in here that I haven't read anywhere else. I can't wait to see what else this talented woman comes up with. I like the world she is building in this series, it just gets my brain whirling around thinking of all the stuff that could happen.
Book #2 - Cold Moon Rising 4 stars
I liked Jacob and Kelly and for such a short story, I found myself very invested in the characters and rooting for them to succeed. The tension and suspense buildup were very well done. The author has a nice flow to her writing. I didn't have to reread anything in order to figure something out that I didn't understand the first time through.
I was a bit irritated with Kelly the first few pages, but I was soon won over and Jacob is just a sweetie. Everything does happen very quickly because it is, after all, a novella. I'm looking forward to reading the end of this story, hopefully in the next book, because it will surely be a doozie if this beginning is anything to go by!
Book #3 - The Wolf Who Played With Fire 5 stars
Once again, Sarah has proven that she is very good at setting the mood of a story in just a few sentences. Her richly drawn characters are a pleasure to read and the story just flows, taking you along for the ride.
Mia and Ethan are still dealing with the fall out from the first book only it ramps up in this one. This book also has Jacob and Kelly from the book "Cold Moon Rising" although as the story centers around M&E, J&K are not brought up at the beginning of the book as I was half expecting. Their cliffhanger is dealt with and I don't want to say anymore about it in case you have not read their book yet.
I am happy to announce that this book does not end in a cliffhanger. It is obvious that the story-line is going to continue (or we will have to hunt Sarah down and chain her to her laptop) but it has a very good HFN and wraps up this portion of the story very well. *big sigh of relief*
There are also a plethora of fabulous secondary characters and I just can't wait to read their stories. Particularly Jessa and Chad.
*I was given these books in exchange for an honest review.
I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review Book 1 What a wonderful imagination this writer has! As an avid reader, I love this type of writing. Sarah catches your attention from the first sentence, and keeps it well past the ending. I believe that Sarah will have a long list of loyal followers after reading this piece of work. My mind is trying to establish so many different ways this book could possibly go. It is totally a standalone book, but leaves so many doors open for potential future books. I can easily see this as a series, and hope it evolves to just that. I would like to see more of this "family" My only dislike is that I want MORE of Mia and Ethan! Lots more! I won't tell you all the guts of the story, because I totally believe that you'll want to read it for yourself and I think you'll love it as much as I did.
Book 2 GRRRR!!! I want the rest of the story. hehe. Totally loved this story. Sarah Makela has a wonderful gift of capturing your interest and keeping it throughout the entire book. The only problem....it left me hanging. Now, I really want to read the next part. Need to know what happens to this young couple and how the pack will help, if it does. What happens to the rest of the "detainees" ? So much potential for continued episodes to this series. An extremely well written book. another on my NEED TO READ list! Well done
Book 3 Well....you gotta love the characters in this series. I highly recommend this series to anyone who loves romance, paranormal and lots of excitement. The saga of Mia and Ethan continue, as we follow them through their struggle to achieve a decision of how to bring their relationship to the surface without having their world cave in on themselves. You will have to read in order to unveil if or how Mia obtains the approval of the wolf pack. Even though this book does not end in a cliff hanger, it definitely leaves the door open for many further episodes. I am looking forward to hearing more of Mia and Ethan's story, as well as Jacob and Kelly's. And of course, there is always room for other couples like Chad and Jessa...(hint hint). Sarah does a wonderful job of keeping you in suspense, as we are brought into her world of imagination. What a special talent. Looking forward to many more stories from this talented writer
This review is from: Cry Wolf Series: Shifter Romance Box Set: Books 1-3 (Kindle Edition) The Witch Who Cried Wolf..... This is the first book I read by this author and I fell in love. Mia is a Witch, but no one knows and she tries to hide this from everyone including the man she has had a crush on, Ethan. When Mia unknowingly uses a spell she and Ethan are attacked by werewolves and must do what they can to survive. There are a lot of action and hot sexiness that leaves questions unanswered, but don't fear book 2 takes up where this one leaves off.
Cold Moon Rising..... Book 2 in the Cry Wolf series and this one is about college students, Kelly and Jacob. Kelly is your average college student who wants to finish school, while Jacob is a werewolf who is attracted to Kelly. Kelly is kidnapped by a crazy scientist who thinks she is a Werecat, and wants to experiment on her, but changes her into a shapeshifter. Jacob will stop at nothing to save her. Will these two get together and have a HEA or will the scientists come between them?
The Witch Who Played with Fire.... Mia and Ethan are back and they are hotter than ever! This story is a continuation of book one and Ethan is still trying to control his wolf while Mia is learning how to become a stronger witch. Mia is also worried about how her relationship with Ethan will survive after he becomes a member of the pack since they hate witches. This book also continues Kelly and Jacob's story, without taking away from Mia and Ethan. There are still questions left about Chad, Jessa and even Nolan. Hopefully we will get more of this series in the future so we will know what happens with our couples.
This is an absolutely wonderful series that I highly recommend to read. The Witch Who Cried Wolf 5 stars Enjoyable and original Great story line and very original. Well written and very entertaining to read. I loved the characters of Mia and Ethan and the missteps in life. This was a very enjoyable story to read. Makes me want more from this author. Great job. Cold Moon Rising 5 star Fast paced, Want more Action packed all the way through the book Fast passed enjoyable story to read. Very well written and great story line. I can see so many more stories from this author around this stony line and yet she makes them self contained. Extremely entertaining to read. Great job. The Wolf Who Played With Fire 5 Stars Karma can be a B**ch I loved this book as well as the entire series. You have a witch who by no fault of her own seems to have werewolf’s trouble follower her. An old family friend (who she’s always had a crush on) finds the trouble right alongside of her. Her best friend and mentor is in the hospital and can’t help her. Can she up her magic to help save them? Missing pack members that need to be found and helped and a whole lot more going on all at the same time. This is the third book of a series and yet it’s still a self-contained story but is several enhanced by the other books, and again leaving things open for more stories to come. Story line flowed very well keeping my interest to the fullest. Well written and very enjoyable and entertaining to read.
The Cry Wolf series is a fun box set which brings us witches and wolves.
Witch Cried Wolf: Witch meets Werewolf in this fun read! Mia meets a hunky man who is looking for a healing salve from her. Little does Mia realize that just this little bit of witchcraft in making the salve is going to open a whole world of werewolves to her. Now Mia is involved in werewolf politics and doesn’t even know it. Soon her family friend, the man she’s been crushing on is a werewolf! What’s a witch to do?
Cold Moon Rising was a fun and intriguing read. Kelly and Jake have been dancing around their feelings for each other. In a Now or Never moment, their future is set in motion. Kelly finds herself confronted and violated by a world she never knew existed. Jake is trying to save her from it but may not live through it. I got to the end and needed to know more! I will definitely be following Kelly and Jake’s story.
The Wolf Who Played with Fire was the continuation of Mia and Ethan’s story. Mia and Ethan are still working out their new relationship and how their worlds of werewolves and witches are affecting them. While Mia and Ethan may love each other, their relationship might not survive the supernaturals. That is if they can even tell their family and friends.
This is a great series and you will love reading one after the other like I.
The Witch Who Cried Wolf Very well written introduction to this series, leaves you wanting to read the next book. So realistic that it makes it seem like something that could happen in real life. Werewolves, maybe? There is also a mystery you want to find out about, subtle hints to what to expect I think this is going to turn out to be a great series, can't wait to get to the next book!
Cold Moon Rising Every college girls dream guy! I loved this one Miss Makela,. This book is definitely full of suspense and action.
The Wolf Who Played With Fire Mia finally proves to the wolves that she is not the bad guy, but can help rescue the captured wolves and her love Ethan. But Mia is a smart cookie, she is going to win something with this deal! I can't wait to find out if Mia will be accepted by the wolves and if she and Ethan will finally be accepted by her family as a couple. They have been through quite a lot together and no one is the wiser, but theirs is a love that has and will endure.
This has been a great ongoing story that I have enjoyed very much and what's great about it is that the story just continues on to the next from the very start with no lingering questions left behind.
Witches, shifters, evil scientists ... what more do you need? This is the boxed set of the first 3 novellas in the Cry Wolf series. This is actually a cross between a series and a serial, as they are not really stand-alone novellas. And, it doesn’t really help if read in order, as #2 doesn’t exactly follow #1 … #3 follows the storyline from #1. Some background characters from #1 do show up in #2, but some people may or may not catch it. This is the only thing keeping this from being a five star review. That said … Sarah Makela is a gifted writer. Her character development and the flow of the story are a delight for the reader. It’s also a pleasure to not be distracted by a poorly edited publication, as each book is progressively more polished. All three of the volumes have shifters, natural witches, secret (government?) scientists and experiments, young adult sexual attraction & love (with family issues thrown in to mess things up), lots of action and tons of suspense. Overall, a good boxed set to read, one after the other. There are plenty of characters and situations to continue this series for quite a while. Cry Wolf #4, Highland Moon Rising, makes a fantastic next read!
Book 1 Mia Brooks has alway been in love with her brothers best friend Ethan Parker. Ethan has also had feelings for Mia BUT she is his best friends little sister and therefore off limits. But there is danger around Mia and he has to help her even if the cost is more then either on ever dreamed. Darn werewolfs and their games I loved the action and drama in this book. It was so fun seeing them working on their feelings.
Great start to a fun series. Book 2 This book is about Kelly and Jacob. Jacob is a wolf. Kelly is human not use to the animalistic feelings shows around the full moon. But after a fight in which Kelly is taken by mistake. Jacob goes on the hunt. Loved the story it's set in the same time as the last one but different people. Great little story so full of action
Book 3 ahhhh I love this story. A witch has a crush on her brother's best friend who gets turned into a werewolf! Now this story has witchs and wolfs, love, action, mystery and mad guy's you just love to hate. I hope she has another book in the series coming out I would love to read more!
Well, if you have read any of my reviews you know I don't do spoilers. I want you to experience it yourself unless is just is a really bad book. Now S. Makela had me on my toes. Yes, Sarah after the first book I about threw my Kindle across the room, then gave it another chance and read book 2 which made me want to find you and throw my Kindle at you until I ready book three which made much more sense tying it all together, but I wanted more. (insert grin here) That is the point of writing, when you have your reader so involved with complex characters that they need to know what is next. I hope there is another book in this series, because my imagination even stopped and said "you gotta be kidding me, now what happens.. the end you gotta be kidding me" I must applaud the way you grab your reader. It was a good thrill ride.
Ms Makela came up with an interesting concept by writing two different story lines and then bring them together as one story. Don't get me wrong each book can be read alone but I recommend the set. They are full of action and romance which will leave you breathless and craving more. The story lines are creative and the characters are extremely well developed. You will get shifters, witches and secret scientific experimentation. I really enjoyed reading this box set. I definitely think most reader will enjoy these characters!
I thoroughly enjoyed books 1-3 of this series and have already started on book 4. The characters are completely fleshed out and the story lines flow with ease. Each book is a stand alone with couples finding their HEA, but the stories dovetail into one another with ease. It's hard to pick a favorite couple because I loved them all. The books are short enough to finish in an evening, but long enough to feel like the price you paid is worth it. I love this series and the author is one of my favorites.
A interesting and exciting trilogy. All three books worked well together and flowed smoothly. The storylines were captivating and intriguing, and were filled with betrayal, deception, and emotion. Each book had there problems and trials to overcome, but it was entertaining and enjoyable to read them get through their own battles. I loved each character for various reasons and all the couples were well suited. There were a few hicups along the way but nothing major and too serious. A very entertaining read!
I loved the characters and the basic story. However, I absolutely loathed how each story ends in the middle. "Stay tuned for the next book" method of the author is horrible. The "next book" should actually have been the next chapters. These aren't even cliff hangers- they're just a cheat for the reader. Writing this harsh a review hurts my soul, but I felt cheated out of time and money, and being extorted to get more dribbles of the stories.
When I finished the first book in this box set and started on book 2, I was freaking out. I ran straight to the computer to look up the series. Seeing it was all in order I continued to read. I really enjoyed it. You meet the witches and many wolves in this set. I will be continuing to read the rest of the series. Great mix of characters and tales. Lots of action on the 3rd. Mia and Ethan are the stars of series and I can't wait to see if they appear some more.
This is the best way to get these books....I started out reading The Witch Who Cried Wolf and left off wanting more, but the next one was not out yet. As soon as Cold Moon Rising came out I jumped on that one. This is a great series and one of those that is just really hard to put down. I finished all of the books within a day or two of starting each. This is one author whose books will always be on my TBR list....and I can't wait to see what she releases next!
This is well written and has a good story line. I really liked the characters. I think calling it a series and having called them separate books is a stretch. The first two books end so abruptly that it is actually bizarre but as a whole considering all three as one piece of work allows for a more complete and enjoyable story.
This is an excellent series. Every single book is amazing and I couldn't put them down. All three books together means you can read right through without having to wait for the next story but you will be anxious for more. This is full of hot sexy men and seriously hot shifters!!!! You had better crank the air conditioner cause it gets hot! Enjoy!
This is an outstanding box set. The stories and the plots within them has a little bit of everything that I enjoy when reading. The plots roll smoothly, even with twists and turns of danger and naughty heated moments. It is a set of books that I will be sure to read a number of times I enjoyed the stories that much.
I really enjoyed this trilogy each books is unique and different in it's own way all the book is fast paced jam packed full with action leaving you wanting more looking forward to reading the rest of the books in this series.
