A BBW Shifter Erotic Romance a tale of ruggedly handsome werewolves and ritualistic intrigues
Mia sits alone on the edge of a bridge, watching the dark, mysterious waters below. Bored with the banality of life, she wonders when the fire in her blood will be reignited. She won't wait long...
Mistakenly assuming she's a jumper, a ruggedly handsome motorcyclist lends a hand, and instantly an irrevocable bond between them is forged. Caleb is different - otherworldly, and almost supernaturally attractive - but the more that Mia discovers about her new lover, the more he seems to shy away, especially when he notices her increasingly unusual behaviour around him, and the mysterious birthmark on her body.
Little does Mia know that her hitherto ordinary life is about to change forever; she's about to find out that Caleb is no ordinary man, and that she herself is certainly no ordinary woman...
Can Mia handle the knowledge that werewolf blood flows through her veins? Can Caleb protect his lover from the plots and machinations of his own clan? Or will the pair be swept away by the supernatural waters that threaten to overwhelm them both?
While the story could have been really interesting, it was not executed well. Mia gets dumped for being fat, meets Caleb, has lots of hot sex, finds out she's part werewolf, has lots of hot sex with the Alpha Jack, realizes Jack is not a great guy, then has copy and pasted hot sex with Caleb. I mean literally, it had to be copy and pasted because Jack's name popped up in the middle of a Caleb sex scene. I think if the story was more in depth and the repetitive sex scenes were cut back, this could have been a decent story. I actually wanted to know more about the pack and the prophecy and what it meant to be a half blood.
It was an ok book but the jumping between relations when she ended a bad one at the beginning was unrealistic and I only truly read the first sex scene and ended up skipping the rest. I liked the happy ending, but just felt this book collection could have been so much more
It's difficult to review this book since there's not much to it once you take away the sex, I'd say it's about 80% sex. Mia thought she was happy with her boyfriend Gary but he has issues with her weight and he's been cheating on her. Then just when she needs him the most Mia meets Caleb and wow he's tall, handsome, rides a motorcycle and seems almost perfect apart from the fact that he somehow seems a little different. After dating Caleb for a while Mia starts to feel ill, really ill but she's no idea what's wrong and neither has the doctor, eventually she confides in Caleb. As I said there's not much story and I struggled with the characters not particularly liking any of them, I also found it a bit immature in fact if it wasn't for all the sex I'd have guessed at it being a young adult book. An example of what I mean, without giving anything away, Mia is curvy, she has a bit of a Marilyn Monroe thing going on but when she's in a bar with Caleb someone shouts over "Bikers are supposed to ride Hogs, not date 'em!" I know the guy's drunk but I just couldn't see it and it annoys me that so often in shifter books women are portrayed as huge but then when they meet their 'one' it turns out they're curvy with everything in the right places and then everyone wants them, I mean which is it? I must admit I started skimming early on so I could have missed something but I couldn't get a hold on Mia, how old was she, was she working or in education, what did she do, how did she pay for her apartment and what happened when she was unwell and couldn't attend. So not much story and I didn't particularly like what little story there was, I didn't like the characters or the way they behaved at all.
I picked this up thinking it was the complete collection. It's not. Only the Alpha's Mate was downloaded. Not much story to it. Girl meets guy, hops into bed. Girl gets sick, guy tells her he has someone who can explain why. Meets New guy, who tells her she is part werewolf. First guy dumps her on to new guy. New guy keeps her around her awhile, then attempts to kill her. First guy who happens to be 2nd in command/beta challenges alpha. Defeats him. Apologies to girl. Starts relationship back up. She no longer feels sick and gets pregnant. Most of the book is sex regurgitated which was very boring. Who uses the phrase slicky-slick in reference to male ejaculate. I ended up skimming through the last quarter of the book only reading the dialogue.
this book was all over the place and not in a good way. she went from sex to love to betrayal to sex with another, love, then betrayal then sex with another...she honestly looked like an idiot. sad excuse for as lead female imo. ugh!!!
I think this book should could be expanded on, part written over and a few characters changed. then our would be good.
I can handle erotica, read it regularly. But I read this book so incredibly fast because I just skimmed all the pointless repetitive sex scenes. Low on plot, heavy on duplicative sex scenes. and give me a break, can't be labeled bbw because she isn't!
Very interesting story, no cliff hanger but I never read anything like this kind of story before and its not bad but it need a bit more to the story, I felt like I was missing something that I cant put my head around, maybe if I reread it at another time it will be better.
While the story was good, it was way to short. I became bored with the amount of sex that all seemed To be close to the same with a few odds n ends thrown in. The main character just seems ditzy.
