Azalea Mortclaw, the battle-tested Crown Princess of Tyldon, has always known her future marriage would be for the welfare and prosperity of her kingdom. With a wolf in her soul and a sword in her hand, the Golden Wolf of Tyldon has never cowered from conflict or combat. When her kingdom comes under attack by a foe long believed dead, she stands ready to lead her people to victory by whatever means necessary.
Nilos Whitestar, Crown Prince of Zelarum, prizes his compassion and honor above all else. With the power to bend weather to his every whim, he knows he can never risk losing his control. For this reason alone, he has never allowed his parents nor their advisors to rush him into marriage or producing an heir. When his father is assassinated to bring about the resurrection of a monstrous army, he will do whatever his mother asks to protect their people.
Stormwielder and Golden Wolf must meet at the altar to secure an alliance between their rival nations in an impossible war. What happens when Nilos refuses to consummate their wedding night and robs Azalea of the only battle she has been assigned to wage- the political warfare of producing an heir? Can Azalea convince Nilos that the obligation to their people must take priority over his moral code? In a crisis of duty over honor, only love can stand firm in the battle against death and darkness.

I picked this story because the cover got me intrigued. They say don't judge a book by its cover but look at it! Isn't it beautiful? And for some reason I didn't expect anything grand. But oh boy did it surprise me! I loved it! I loved the writing, the plot, the action, the connection between the main characters! I felt the emotions and their angst. It had the world building but nothing overwhelming like others that drag the story. It was just as it should be. Congratulations author for this piece of art inside and outside. I think this will be added to my all time favourites
I'm not good with the word doing and putting thoughts into words, bare with .
A creature and few other big bads are attacking. Two cities must form an alliance to defeat them. So naturally, There must be a marriage to form the alliance. The FMC, Azalea and MMC , Nilos must consummate the marriage and have a heir. But there's a few issues. But you're going have to read and find out if they do indeed consummate the marriage and defeat the baddies
I think I kind of like 'stubborn' sassy female characters because Azalea is definitely stubborn and sassy but I also liked Deidre as well. Deidre is fire mage and cousin to MMC. .
(Received as an ARC does not influence my opinion)
This was a great quick read! TBH, I would have folded a lot faster than the FMC because Nilos was so respectful AND good looking so like.. yeah I would have folded like a lawn chair. I enjoy how the author didn't drag out conflicts and came to quick resolutions which made the read enjoyable, and didn't make me feel like I needed a reading break. Definitely did cry for Nilos at a certain point but I won't spoil that. All in all i throughly enjoyed it and can't wait for more from the author! 🖤
Fulfilling and Refreshing Twist on the Opposing Kingdoms
TLDR; This was an amazingly written novel! It’s a very easy read, packed with details without being overly verbose. There is a great mix of action, romance, spice, and a really satisfying resolution. I would highly recommend it to those new to romantasy and fans alike.
This novel was written with such cleverness without sacrificing originality. This story reflects a trope that has been used many times, in many ways, by many authors. However, TGWatSW was a welcome adaptation that is unlike any others I’ve read. The world building was done in such a way I didn’t clock it until I was already fully immersed. I almost feel like I can give a history lesson of the lands in which this story takes place. I appreciate the deepens and complexity that is reflected in each characters relationships, whether it be familial, romantic, or sexual, each relationship is unique with quirks specific to the personalities of the characters involved. Also in a seemingly short time there is a well built and easily digestible magic system that is unique amongst the others that have over saturated many fantasy novels. None of the story is forces and there is a good variety of moods that this story flows through. Allowing every character to showcase how they express emotions and how it develops their personality. The characters you start the book with are quite different by the end without sacrificing their entire personality.
Ps; pay no mind to the read time, it’s not that dramatic I can just never focus. XD
Can you imagine being in an arranged marriage to save not only your kingdom, but another kingdom as well? This is what happens to Azalea and Nilos. One Kingdom is magical and the other is a kingdom with inner animals.
Nilos and Azalea are joined together to bring peace to each other's kingdoms and to come together to destroy the Kraden.
This book is fast paced and will have you questioning your morals. Nilos is by far the book boyfriend we all deserve
The characters were compelling and the world building was both interesting and intricate. But this felt rushed. The whole story could have been stretched into at least another 200 pages or more. I really enjoyed it! Maybe we could get a second book about Deidre and Jarrett...?
That of Tyldon calls to Zalarum…from the past…from the sword…from the ground…and from the womb… Honor, duty…I think we’ll skip mercy. Thanks so much for the introduction.
I absolutely love a good forced proximity book! I loved how the author created an immersive lore with elements of magic. YESSS!! we need a sharp tongued FMC and a badass cinnamon roll MMC!!! loved it
