Having broken laws and committed sins to save Rane's life, brothers Caden and Deshic journey with their family to the Plains of Fire to atone for what they have done. But when the Moghozi faithful's true plans for Rane come to light, she and Caden must once again turn to the dragons of Strangbrouden, this time for help in saving Deshic and their parents from unimaginable horrors.
really enjoyed the first book of this series - but this one, well, the writing is good and the story holds together but wow, it is gruesome - way too much graphic violence for me to enjoy
I liked this book in the series more than the first - not quite 5 stars, but close. A balanced story of power, manipulation (for power), biases (prejudices) and one's goal for righteousness - with dragons.
This was every bit as good as the first in the series. The world building, character building, plot crafting - all work together to bring the reader an engaging and enjoyable story.
The second in this series, totally as enthralling as the first. If you love Dragon lore or just an exciting story this series is for you. Come on number 3.
