The year is 2100. Wise people marry by registering with Bioexpa Data Match. The matchmaking company has such a near perfect record that choosing your own mate is now considered tantamount to marrying a blood relative.
Anaya Roberts, CEO of Roberts Auto Parts, has just been matched…to her personal assistant. Oh, well, she signed the Bioexpa contract and she fulfills her word. She has a vague memory of Niall having a girlfriend, but she's sure they can reach a resolution.
Marrying Anaya is Niall Cunningham's dream come true. Her dad doesn't approve of him. His parents don't like her. However, Niall would wade his way through all of the naysayers for the love of his wife. Only Anaya doesn't love him. Can he settle for being her obligation or is it the one thing that will make Niall walk away?
The Bioexpa series is one of the best series I have read. Every story is different, individual and excellent, and Anaya and Niall's story was no exception. The spicy scenes were very steamy and hot. Their chemistry was amazing. This is one of my favourites from the series. Highly recommended.
This book came as a welcome surprise just when I needed it. I am burned out on all tropes, all the time marketing and I continue to want books that simply tell a good romantic story.
This is the 5th book in the Bio-Expa series. The last book in that series came out in 2018. So yeah, this was a surprise in more ways than one. But like I said, welcome.
In this series it is about 80 years in the future. Marriage has all but been handed over to a dating service called Bio-expa which in a high tech matching service. It is incredibly invasive in taking your info but the matches have all but eradicated unhappy marriages and divorce so it is an accepted often necessary part of the culture. So much so, that many people will not even marry unless the match was made by Bio-Expa. So in this world people date, have sex and co-habitate but in a bit of a holding pattern while waiting to be matched.
Sometimes it is with people you know and sometimes it is with total strangers. This makes for great romantic conflict because it opens up lots of possibilities of how the romance can play out. In the preceding four books their couples navigated a lot of different complications based on what their situation was before they got married.
In this one it is with a boss and her personal assistant. For Niall, the assistant, it is a dream come true because he has been in love with Anaya from almost the moment he first saw her. For Anaya it is a little more of a shock because she had never seen Niall that way.
So right off the bat we have one partner who is more on love with the other. In all of these books when the Bio-Expa drone appears, people go quiet waiting to see who it approaches to announce their marriage. These are great scenes to read because the drones can come at any time, anyplace and can catch you in any situation. I loved Niall's reaction when the drone came to him.
I liked how the author flipped the script here. Anaya is the rich, bossy, work-a-holic CEO while Niall is her ride or die personal assistant who knows every single thing about her. He has keys to her home, even knows her favored brand of feminine products because he buys them. But through all that she is absent minded, a little flighty and depends on his strength more than she realizes. Meanwhile Niall is very comfortable in his skin. He understands that at work she is the boss and CEO and would never think to undermine her, but at home he asserts his role as her partner and equal. And he is pretty damned dominant in the bedroom.
The two go through some believable bumps and growing pains. Plus the requisite communication issues as they adjust to the shift in their roles while others around them also must adjust. His co-workers especially.
There are a few tense moments but I was gratified there was no third act break up and no stupidity. A lot of the drama is external his family and hers who had perceptions of their child's spouse that was skewed.
Anyway, this was a good read. I really hope the author continues on with this series.
I always enjoy these Bioexpa Match books. I genuinely like the premise. There was only one I really didn’t care for, but that’s a me thing, no reflection on the writer or the series of books. Thayer king overall is a great writer. There were some typos but who cares I’m still immersed, like in DEEP, willfully submerged in this book series. I desperately hope there’s more to come.
I am a fan of Thayer King’s novels. They is very good. So of the best authors I’ve ever read. I love the new twist Anaya and Niall. Boss reversal role is great. Tastefully done. Steamy. Can you imagine marrying your biggest crush? I wish there were more.
Love how Niall knew his love for Anaya and felt it would not happen. Anaya knew as her personal assistant,Niall, was her backbone. Bioexpa brought them together, and this story was so good.
I love the Bioexpa series and this was a great addition. I love the power dynamics and how strong and confident Niall is. Anaya doesn’t have to dim her light or ambition. And the way Niall loves Anaya is swoon worthy. The employee-employer relationship could have proven tricky narratively, but King made it work marvelously. I’ve been stalking Amazon and King’s website for a new release and I’m so happy she made it a Bioexpa the release.
