This is the first in a in two spin off series from the original album highlander book club. We met Adtovar in the last book of that series when helps Willa escape Nansar. Will then becomes his adopted daughter. Now that the G healer has brought him back to the prime of his life he's joined Duke Ako's battle cruiser on their mission to save humans throughout the galaxy. On this .mission Adtovar must go to a brutal gladiator planet and barter for the release of the human that is residing there. What he finds there is more than just a rescue mission but his second chances at a fated mate. Maddie is strong alas July adaptable fierce woman from earthShe was abducted by cat like aliens and landed on ancient Roman gladiator planet alien style. She would love to be rescued but doesn't believe that dream will ever be a reality until Adtovar comes for her . Together they must Thwart the evil plans of the gladiator pits fight master and save everyone e!we stuck on the planet and escape before any horrible can happen! This was an excellent first book in the new series. Annie Lucas Has done a phenomenal job with Has done a phenomenal job with world building and creating characters that you can't help but love. Gladiators and slaves.

An absolutely beautiful story of otherworldly love between a principled alien male and a feisty human female, set in a brutal backdrop of barbaric gladatorial violence. There, amid the chaos, Adtovar and Maddie meet and fall in love. The challenges they have to overcome will keep your eyes glued to each and every page, all the way to the suspenseful conclusion.

I liked it

I just never really got sucked into the story or the characters. There isn’t anything in particular that I had issues with, but towards the end I was skimming through to get to the end.
