Memories & Mayhem

Nothing is as it seems.

The eyes I see, the nightmares I have - they're all hints to a life that's been taken away from me. Stolen by someone who should have had my best interests at heart, but instead was led by his selfishness. The pain turns me into a shell of the woman I know I can be.

I learn that my mates and I have found each other once again, only to be thrust into yet another war with enemies we never saw coming. Our throne, our hearts, and our freedom are at risk once again within the halls of Melford Mental Institution.

I entered this world searching for death and turned into the mistress of death herself, able to destroy someone with a single thought and send their soul straight to the Reaper's I reign over.

When the truth comes out and blood gets spilled, I have no choice but to set the world on fire and revel in the ashes.

What a beautiful conclusion to this world. This was fast-paced and action-packed... but there was also so much love. Were there tears, also yes... but don't worry HEA ;). Plus some quotes that will stick with me for a long time because they are about finding and trusting your inner magic. Let yourself get lost in this dark paranormal why choose and find yourself falling in love too.

I loved this so much, I couldn’t put it down. I really enjoyed seeing everyone step into their new powers and become who they were always meant to be. It was heartbreaking watching so many obstacles get in their way, but through it all, they had each other. This was a fantastic ending to the series, and it has definitely become a favorite of mine. I highly recommend reading them all.

Memories and Mayhem is the gripping conclusion to JA Welch’s The Last Words Trilogy, and it packs every emotional punch needed to bid a final farewell to Amri Glass and her unforgettable band of paranormal mates.

This is not a standalone novel—skipping the first two books would mean missing out on the depth, richness, and sheer brilliance of this darkly enchanting series. Welch has created a cast of characters who are as delightfully dark as they are irresistible, each one igniting both curiosity and desire as you watch their tangled stories unfold. Before diving in, I strongly recommend checking the author’s trigger warnings—this series navigates mental health themes and other sensitive topics that may not be for every reader.

The plot in Memories and Mayhem is expertly crafted, brimming with twists, turns, and moments that will appeal to fans across multiple genres and tropes—though at its core, this is still very much a dark romance. Amri Glass, the fierce and resilient female lead, shines from start to finish. Her dynamic with her fated mates takes the intimacy, attraction, and emotional stakes to an entirely new level.

What truly hooked me, though, was Welch’s bold and imaginative take on Hell—its ideology, its unsettling beauty, and the layered, mystical worldbuilding that made the setting almost a character in itself. The emotional journey is as wide-ranging as it is intense, pulling you through moments of heartbreak, heat, hope, and high-stakes adventure. And right up until the final page, you’re left wondering—will she truly give us the HEA we’re craving?

For me, this series has been nothing short of incredible. It’s one of those rare reading experiences that leaves you both thrilled to have discovered a new author and a little heartsore at having to say goodbye to such an extraordinary world. Sometimes the greatest reward is taking a chance on a fresh voice and being rewarded with storytelling that lingers long after the last word.

✨ Memories & Mayhem ✨ The explosive finale to JA Welch’s The Last Words Trilogy!

If you haven’t read the first two books, start there—this series must be read in order. Trust me, you’ll want every single page before you dive into this heart-pounding conclusion.

With Hades plotting in the shadows and a new, unsettling therapist in the mix, the stakes have never been higher.

This finale has it all:
⚔️ Epic battles
🔥 Spicy moments
💔 Gut-wrenching grief
✨ Stunning character growth

Amri proves once again she’s a force to be reckoned with, and this conclusion delivers every emotional punch you could want. An unforgettable, action-packed farewell.

JA Welch has an eloquent way of making you question this series with all the twists and turns! This finale to a wonderful series was filled with love, SPICE, outstanding character development, and a wonderful testament that even the most broken of people deserve light and happiness and are stronger than they appear. I love that Amri finally believed the words she was telling herself. She finally noticed how strong she was after everything she endured, and there is a healing quality about that, that all of us can relate to in some way. I love how all the characters were able to love each other after something so tramamutic, and how raw the emotions were displayed after losing someone! I love the justice, and the feeling of resolve this author put into every aspect of the book, making us feel fully satifsied-wink wink. I will miss the comedic relief from our chaotic Gemini, the care of Zain, the strength of our infamous reaper, the life from our charismatic demon, the rawness of Echo, and the devotion of a king to his queen! I love the charcters, the storyline, and overall flow of this book. I am so sad to see this series end, but so happy to see how JA Welch mended the characters, and in turn mended a piece of ourselves as we read through this beautiful, and sexy piece. What a wonderful series! 10/10 would recommend!

“Memories & Mayhem” is exactly what the title promises: chaos, claws, and orgasms that feel like war cries.

JA Welch doesn’t just write spice — she weaponizes it. This finale delivers a barrage of demon kisses, mating bonds that choke and soothe, and a heroine who refuses to break even when her heart is bleeding and her bed is crowded.

Our FMC isn’t just fiery; she’s barassie, jagged, and devastatingly real — the kind of woman who makes demons kneel and boyfriends fall into each other’s arms when she’s done with them. Broken? Yes. Healing? Slowly. Still managing to scorch every page with her feral brand of desire? Absolutely.

The romance isn’t soft — it’s jagged glass and bloodstained sheets, stitched together with shadowy magic and a growing harem that feels less like a fairytale and more like a sin you want to commit twice. And the men? Demonic, possessive, a little bit unhinged. They don’t just love her; they consume her. They claim her. And sometimes… they claim each other, too.

If you want a finale that’s as dark as it is dirty, as heartbreaking as it is hot, with kisses that taste like ruin and sex scenes that burn like fire, this book will leave you feral. It’s not romance; it’s survival wrapped in desire. And gods, it’s addictive.

The final installment in the Last Words trilogy is every bit as captivating as its predecessors. Just like the first two books, this conclusion earns a solid 5-star rating from me.

The writing style is effortlessly engaging—so smooth and immersive that hours seem to disappear as you read. The world and character building are exceptional, drawing you in so completely that it feels as though you're not just reading the story, but living it alongside the characters.

One of the standout elements of the series is the dynamic among the characters. Each one is distinct and richly developed, and despite their differences, they complement each other beautifully. Their interactions feel authentic and layered, which adds even more depth to the story.
Overall, this was a brilliant ending to a series I’ve thoroughly enjoyed. If you haven’t picked up the Last Words trilogy yet, I highly recommend diving in— you won’t be disappointed.

“Then kiss me, Miss Glass. Kiss me and make a deal with the devil.”

“So, if I reached down in your panties right now, you wouldn’t soak my fingers?”

“Let’s bring hellfire down upon them, Wildling. I want to watch them burn.”

I really enjoyed the 3rd book in series - 5 stars. I had to brush up on Book 2 again before diving in. If you haven't read the first two books, you need to read these before you dive into this one; cannot be read as standalones. Defiintely has dark themes so make sure you read the content warnings before diving into this definitely dark, definitely spicy reverse harem series.

Echo, Vincent, Callyx, and Alistair are stuck. Hades took their mate, Amri, and they can't get to her because Vincent can't use the mirrors to locate her. They know someone is blocking them, and they can only assume it was Hades and the witch. Hades, ever the plotter, has a plan. Amri is back in Medford, only she knows something is different this time. Amri has a new therapist, Draxten, and things are more dire than they seem. Amri still doesn't have all her memories, all of them are still mourning Zain. They know there is still more to do but first, they need to find each other. Hades has other plans, and they don't include letting Amri go anytime soon.

Memories & Mayhem is the last book in the Last Words Trilogy written by JA Welch. This dark reverse harem, paranormal romance is not a standalone and should be read after Glass & Grim and Death & Decay. Because these are darker-themed books, I recommend checking the trigger warnings before venturing in.

Memories & Mayhem’s storyline is just as fantastic as the others, with amazing twists and turns. Again, we join Amri Glass, the FMC, and her fated mates - Vincent, Calyx, Echo, and Alistair. Of course, that pesky Hades is in the way. I have loved Amri’s transformation throughout the trilogy! She is a complete badass! I loved how Welch gave each character this layered depth that made me fall in love with each one of them individually.

I loved the blend of paranormal/supernatural elements with real-life elements. It was definitely an epic conclusion to the series.

Thanks to JA Welch for gifting me an e-ARC of Memories & Mayhem. I am leaving this review voluntarily. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Real monsters don’t hide in the dark. The real ones are the ones who smile in your face right before they rip you apart in broad daylight…

WHAT A RIDE…. It was so hard to leave this world or more like underworld behind I couldn’t let go.. but it was perfection as always the closure for Amri with all the bad things with her past ( I mean I would make those mtfrs pay a tiny bit more but haha I guess she’s better than I am) I love how she finally let all the bad vibes go her growth and Echo´s were so incredible. How all the boys came together at the end to give her something (more like someone) back 😢

I love them so much haha this series I’m really so happy I found this author because know I’m a huge fan and I can’t wait what else is in store

I will forever miss them until I re read (cuz I will) 🖤

What an ending!
Honestly, when I read the first book last year I had no idea where this Trilogy would go but I was hooked, I am so glad I gave it a try because I have enjoyed these novellas.
They all deal with some very difficult topics so if self-harm, child abuse (mentioned when discussing the past), suicide attempts, or abusive relationships are triggers then it might be best to skip them.
Through these books, Amri has gone through some shit, but she kicked a lot of ass and came out the other side, with 6 mates all willing to do anything for her (am I a little jealous... maybe)

Even if you took the supernatural elements out of this- well there would be fewer fight scenes, but I think Amri's growth and her relationships would still stand and work in a dark romance setting

Read this in one sitting like a proper bookworm 🔥
This is the 3rd and last book in this trilogy, what an ending! Seriously, thank GOD for that epilogue, I would have commited a crime without it. 💅🏻
Is the main character living my dream? Yes, yes she is. My afterlife better look like that ✨️
We get another POV here, that makes it 7 POVs altogether, which is quite something (you can count how many men this unit of a woman has hehe).
DRAXTEN my booy you have to love him, there's no other way! 🥹

This is what I can say without spoiling anything, if you liked the first 2 books then deffo pick this one up when it releases, and for those who haven't yet read any of these, here's a few things you can find in this trilogy:

• demons
• reapers
• kings
• trials
• 7 circles/underworld
• RH
• her men like each other as well 🙂‍↕️
• magic
• badass FMC

I had the pleasure of being able to beta and arc read this book! I loved every single second of it and of course when I arc read I loved the parts that were added to it!

This is such an epic conclusion to a fantastic action packed trilogy (of course with some very hot spice). I would not change a single about this book. Amri and her mates struggle a bit with Amri having lost her memories but boooy do they make it worth while, and with a new added mate it just gets hotter! 🥵

I definitely recommend this entire series. I would do anything to read it for the first time again. I remember devouring book one and I devoured the second and this book all the same! Such an epic trilogy and I cant wait to see what’s next on the agenda!

I'm so sad this series has come to an end.. BuT, JA Welch couldn't have written a better ending.
The character development through not only the last book but the whole series has made me fall so in love with all the characters.
This book had so much to it, twists and turns that I
COMPLETELY wasn't expecting!
Draxton was an amazing addition in Memories and Mayhem and it wouldn't be the story it is without him

I am crying my eyes out knowing this series is over...
Amri, Vincent, Callyx, Zain, Alastair, Draxton and Echo will forever live rent free in my head and my heart.
@authorjawelch you have done all of your characters so much justice with this last book.
I will forever reread this series and can't wait to have it on my shelf

ARC Review ‘Memories & Mayhem’ by J.A Welch.

Ohhh what an awesome ending to this series!
Amri ends up back in Melford where she has amnesia. Zain is back there too standing by her side, helping her in any way to regain her memory.
I don’t want to get into the story further because there are many plots and twists and turns that are just too good. I don’t want to spoil!

All main characters are at their best in this conclusion.
It was beautiful to read how they evolved all throughout the books.
And the most surprising twist, 2 actually, was 🤯🤯❤️❤️!

The 🌶️ was delicious! Not OTT but just delish!!

Can’t wait to read more books from this author🥰🥰

Pain made her. Love remade her.

Memories & Mayhem is the brutal, beautiful conclusion this trilogy deserved. Amri’s journey from shattered and suicidal to powerful and self-aware. Every dark twist, every trauma, every scar—she wears them like armor.

The romance? Dark, intense, and deliciously twisted. Her connection with her men is messy, magnetic, and full of pain—but also healing. J.A. Welch nails the balance between chaos and chemistry, love and survival.

This isn’t a light read, but if you’ve followed Amri from the beginning, watching her take back control of her story is beyond satisfying. She doesn’t just survive—she owns it.

“Sometimes, fate just chooses you, and you have to decide if you’re going to listen or continue to downplay your own strength.”

This was such an amazing end to an amazing series! There were some great twists and turns, parts that made me squeal and kick my feet, and of course a few tears were spilled. Echo’s story arc was fantastic and I’m crossing my fingers for maybe a spin off series? A separate story with this group? I don’t know, but a girl can hope because I’m not ready to leave Amri and her amazing guys yet. They were all so well written and I’m completely invested in this world that JA Welch has created! I highly recommend this (now completed) trilogy!

I AM NOT AFRAID

This book has been a journey that was so unexpected. It brought everything to light and even added another man willing to die for Amri.

This is a story of overcoming everything in your way and allowing love and understanding to lead you to your ending.

There were so many surprises I never saw coming. I was surprised by all the moving parts that came together to find this ending.

This series has been an amazing journey where hope, healing, heartbreak, fear and love all have a place.

I can't wait to see what's next for this author.

Amri Finding herself back in the mental hospital with fractured memory of the loves of her life, she has to face more trials and tribulations but Draxton tries to influence her into falling for home before her mates can find her. However with threats still looming her mates must make an appearance before Draxton was fully ready or the trials they ustpass has fully taken place. However book three gives us all the spice and suspense we are looking for in the finale episode of this trilogy. 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️

The final book starts from the devastating cliff hanger of Death and Decay and the action doesn’t let up. Because of the way book 2 ended and the dynamic of the group in the beginning of this book and since the final stand is ramping up, I don’t think there is as much spice in this one. There’s a lot more character arcs and emotions though. I laughed, I cried, I was happy with the way the series ended. My statement after reading book 1 still stands…this series is at the top of my favorite paranormal why-chooses, right behind The Bonds That Tie.

This book adds clarity to the previous books, and I love how the author tied everything together, and keeps reader engaged. It has been a wild ride and I’m in awe of the author’s brilliant ideas brought to life on the page. Great story telling. Powerful characters. Strong character dynamics. Powerful relationship, found family and support messages. Great job author!

I love a good why-choose story. And I loved parts of this one. But it also became a little too much for me. There was just so many of them and the relationships built so fast and almost "insta-love". For EVERY relationship. I said this for the other books as well. But I also said that I did enjoy the story and that holds true here as well.

Thank you J. A. Welch for providing an advanced copy of the book.

This book kept me as entertained and glued to it as the first two. I read the three of these in a matter of two weeks, if that tells you anything! The author did a wonderful job in concluding this trilogy. I love a good intense why-choose and this story did not disappoint! The numerous POVs and the dynamic between the characters is amazing. This was one of my best reads of 2025 so far, highly recommend!

Book 3 of 3. Each book got better and better. All the main characters had huge character developments in this book. And Amri just kept getting to be more of force to be re Lines with. As well as some great spice! Many developments in the storyline were a surprise, and I loved that. Great finale overall.

A powerful ending to this epic trilogy. It continues where book two ended with Amri gone and the guys trying to find her. She's been sent back to the mental institution with Zain and Hades. There is so much at play. The guys reunite with her and there are so many twists along the way. New powers are being gained along with new roles. Secrets are discovered and a fight to the end happens.

It’s a great blend of paranormal, supernatural & real life all rolled in one. This was the perfect conclusion to this series.

I loved this so so much.

I am so happy for the way this worked out, but I feel like the ending was enough and not enough at the same time purely because I didn’t want it to end. I would love for to see more of them in the future and how their dynamics are after everything.

Definitely a re-reader for me!
