Perfect

Just perfect, I adore this series. I’m all ready to read the next two books, Im sure they will be just as great as the first three. The books are full of wonderful characters that are very easy to relate too. All the girls have very different personalities, making things interesting. The royal family is interesting. The older generation has much too be desired in there personalities and way they think and deal with things. However they’re getting better. Of course at the end when Dallas picks his bride, the other girls aren’t to disappointed, since he offers them a respectable position. So things end with everyone happy. Now I’m off to read book four, which I think will start focusing on Dallases young brother and one of the girls that have a position with the family. She however will be going North where it’s wild. Can’t wait to read about what happens!!!

Despite me rolling my eyes more often than not , there were parts that I really enjoyed .
- The Prince was a breath of fresh air in a world of borderline abusive male leads , and alpha males ,he was kind ,loyal to the grave ,humble ,and WASN'T lusting over the MC like a pig through the entirety of the last three books .

- Blake (one of the other contestants) was the most relatable character in the series . She was a sassy , hilarious ,food loving girl . 😂 Throughout the entire series she made it clear that her motivation for staying was for the exquisite palace food . She also started a black market food betting business while everyone else was throwing themselves at the Prince . Whenever anything dramatic happened she sidled up to Gwen and was like " I'll bet you six raspberry scones that she'll kiss the Prince." .
I'm super excited for the next two books which are about Blake , and there looks to be a possible romance in the works ??? 😜
- The food ....oh gosh . These books made me hungry . The crab cakes ,and chocolate cakes especially. 😍😍

- The wardrobe envy was major .

The selection :
Lets just say the author relied VERY heavily on the Selection series by Kiera Cass ,but decided to try to make it original by adding in Vampire royals.
The finalists for the contest were VERY similar to the Selection series . The story line was very similar because the author decided to add in a rebel group that attcked the palace .


Content ;
This series was very clean except in the language spectrum .
- There was a bit of swearing .
- A lot of kissing in this book .
- The Prince lays beside her as she falls asleep ,with no intentions of sex .
- One of the contestants "straddles the prince".

Overal this book was a LOT better than the first book ,but let's be honest it was a copy of the Selection and it was a guilty pleasure read .

Bleh.

This is one of those "everything is quickly and perfectly wrapped up" kind of stories; you know, where the writing and story is boiled down so simply that all the conflicts are resolved super fast in a matter of a few paragraphs and there's a happy ending but it also leaves a lot of loose ends because it can't be bothered with more than just the immediate issues? Yeah, this is that kind of book and series.

Like, the problem with her brother is easily solved. The problem with the king is easily solved. The queen is just suddenly not scary and supportive. Gwyn gets her father back so easily. Dallas and Gwyn have the support of the people just like that. We don't have to worry about the problems with the rebels and the vampires and how humans are going to handle vampires because why would the very premise for a vampire prince marrying a human be important? We didn't even focus that much on the fact that Dallas is immortal and Gwyn's gonna be dying in under a century like... "she's my true love, the love of my life" is incredibly sad when he's gonna live on forever and she's gonna die and it's like... the work to achieve these successes wasn't warranted and so many of the plot points that cropped up as a result of the setting and circumstances the author set up are just ignored most of the time and not resolved one bit. It just happened at a break neck speed because it suited the author's goals.

I guess you can argue that because the series is continuing and will focus on Blake and Austin that perhaps over the course of that series we'll see Gwyn and Dallas address more of the over reaching plot of how to coexist with humans but... it's like there's just so much lacking in the narrative. The author tried to simplify a plot that's just got too many things to it for such a simplistic approach.

Also, Dallas is 20 physically and Gwyn is at least 18 yet this book is written like it's for 13 year olds like... why??????

I'm also convinced that the author is British or TRYING to be British because she uses a lot of British-English slang and vernacular patterns for a setting that's supposed to be America; like the fact that Gwyn rides English style makes more sense (yes, rich American girls often ride English style, but most horse girls I know ride western it's what makes the most sense). I didn't really mind but it was impossible to ignore in this installment.

Anyway, I got through the whole trilogy, which is in itself an accomplishment. I did just abandon two RH novel series recently, but like unless you want a condensed version of The Selection with vampires... you can find a much better paranormal series or like royalty romance.

I LOVED this entire story!! The characters are well written and full of life! There are issues of politics, family, love, and cameras!
I don’t want to give it away so I won’t say all the amazing parts that had me giggling, sighing, and grinning like and idiot! This is a clean YA book that I would recommend to students! Yet a great romance!

Biggest complaint—-each book is under 200 pages! These first 3 books could easily have been 1 book!

But more importantly I WANT MORE!!!


This next part will be spoiler-y but I won’t use names! I’m going to talk about some of my wants for future book:) So be warned*********



1. I want a Wedding!! Let me rephrase I desperately need one!
2. Each of the finalist needs their own books! I want to see what happens to them! The good they do along with their own HEA! They deserve them....though one in particular needs a humbling experience to show some true character development.
3. I want Eve to get her own book! She is a hoot and deserves more story! I want to see her kicking butt and finding her own love! I’m envisioning some brooding vampire general!haha
4. I’m excited about the upcoming North book! I’m really hoping some romance will occur between Austin and a certain lady! The North sounds like a wild, crazy wilderness where anything can happen! Plus werewolves and gnomes!! Yes, please!!
5. What is going to happen with the country, rulers, and rebels?!? Will there be peace?
6. I truly want a HEA for these characters that I Love so I’m hoping a princess will become a vampire😉
7. Prequels would also be wonderful! I’m interested in knowing more about the queen and the war!


I will be eagerly waiting for all future books by this lovely author!!

Do you ever want to finish a book to know what happens, but at the same time don't want it to end? That's how I felt with this book. I couldn't stop reading, even though I wanted the story to last longer. I think there could have been more to this book, seeing as there was just under 200 pages, but I loved every minute of Dallas and Gwyneth's obstacle-infused journey to each other. They had a lot to work through with the typical and non-typical family objections, but it was clear from the start they were meant for each other.

I definitely want a wedding scene!!! Please please please, give me a wedding scene!!!

A highly entertaining series at this point of which I have read the first 3 titles It's an status post apocalyptic vampire version of the bachelor ,with plenty of action ,suspense and romance No shock to any proponent of the Bachelor ,its journey is inherently laden with ow drama.Gray are cheating for some as H is forced to interact with ow as per the Pageant, dating protocol and kissing .
Appreciable narration currently free on audible plus!
I must admit this was emotionally compelling.I at times found myself smiling and at least once was brought to tears by the impact h's selfless,emotional expression of Love for H❤

This was a great little conclusion to Gwyn's story.
I enjoyed this book much more than the rest of the series. Dallas and Gwyn's relationship really evolved in this book, and it made for a very enjoyable read.
I must say though, I did get sick of the only insult that anyone knew in this book was to call someone a 'cow'. It got a little old and repetitive.
The next part of the series will follow Blake and Austin, and I'm still unsure if I will continue with their story. So I guess time will tell if I choose to carry on.

Another good one. Ended with who won the pageant. There is no cliffhanger but I do hope book four continues with Dallas and Gwyn and their family. Their story just isn't complete.

FYI. by the end of this book. Still nothing more than heavy kissing. No touching, etc.

While I enjoyed reading this book, it hadn’t improved much from the previous 2. Gwyn was tested by the King and had to overcome trials within her family, but it was short lived and too easy! Would have been nice to see Gwyn be really tested and see more character development.
But overall, a good and easy read.

3 out of 5 stars!! A lot better than the second book but still not great. The whole series is pretty trashy/cheesy. It's a fast easy read and it's not an amazing series. The ending was a bit of a let down to be honest. Apparently there are two more books so maybe they'll be redeemable as the main character don't seem as cheesy or immature.

The Finale is the third novel in Leigh Walker's Vampire Royals series and is another deeply romantic and electric novel continuing to tell Gwyneth's story as she competes in the pageant and continues to fall in love with the vampire prince, Dallas.

As the weeks have flown by and with the pageant nearing its end, Gwyneth West cannot deny that she has fallen hopelessly in love with Dallas Black. Yet, as the heir to the ruling throne and future king, Dallas's choice in bride cannot rest solely on love. He must choose the person to best help him lead and bring unity to the settlements and there are many who do not believe that Gwyn is the right person to do this. With her rebel connections and her familial ties to those who would want to overthrown the Black's rule, Gwyn poses a threat to the vampiric way of life and as the King refuses to accept his son's choice in bride will Gwyn's love for Dallas prove to be his biggest weakness? Will Gwyn choose to let the prince go to save him from himself? Or will their love manage to conquer those who would see them kept apart?

Man, do I ever love this series! I have honestly devoured each book, one after the other and have hardly wanted to put them down. Though the storyline itself may not be something that hasn't been explored before, Leigh Walker has utterly captivated me with the characters and the romance within the Vampire Royals. Each novel has been endlessly entertaining and enjoyable and I have very much fallen in love with Gwyn and Dallas. It's been impossible not to root for them as they faced the obstacles that may keep them apart.

Romantic all the way through, The Finale is another fast paced and easily read novel. Much of the story focuses around how Gwyn and Dallas are going to manage to be together once the pageant ends, but Walker also offers readers a glimpse into the world that exists in the North where the vampires originally came from with the introduction of Austin Black, Dalla's younger brother and someone I really liked. Seeing as the fourth novel is titled The North, I'm very much hoping for the chance to visit if not explore this land in the next novel. I also want much more of Austin and maybe Blake in the next novel as well.

Gwyn is still a main character I highly enjoy following. She's kind but natural and I find her easy to get behind. Obviously we always knew she would win Dallas's heart, but that hasn't made it any less enjoyable to watch unfold and I've thoroughly enjoyed the burn of their romance and the chemistry they have throughout the series. All the stolen kisses and touches have been electric and the sweetness that envelops them as well is also perfectly done on Leigh Walker's part.

Now that the important question has been answered with The Finale as to who will win the Pageant (no guesses there who the winner was!) and I'm much hoping we'll get to join Gwyn for a wedding next. Together we have seen Gwyn and Dallas bridge the gap between vampire and human and as they continue to overcome the hate and distrust that has surrounded their two races, I for one can't wait to see how their story ends.

Leigh Walker can't release The North fast enough where I'm concerned and if you haven't read this series yet I highly recommend you do as I doubt you'll be disappointed!

What more could you want from a finale?!?!?

The final four have been announced and we are in the homestretch of the pageant. The stakes have never been higher for them and (nearly) every moment is being caught on tape and broadcast to everyone. While her brother is in the dungeons Gwyn still has to go on like nothing has happened and carry on with the competition. The prince is forced to go through the motions and is being torn in two directions about who he should choose. The girls are getting cattier and tensions all around are running high. Who will the prince choose?

So this whole series was very much vampires meets the selection meets the bachelor in all the best ways! The characters (for the most part) are relatable and likeable and they come into their own. The prince as a male MC is a fresh take; he's not an alpha male, not possessive or overtly sexual to the females in the books. He is kind, generous and well mannered in all aspects. You definitely have your favorites in this book and they are easy to choose and stick with throughout.

As I have said before this is a nice,easy, clean YA read that hooks you in and wont let you go till you have finished the series! I cannot wait to read the next books in the series as they focus on another character from these books. A great book to take your mind off your reality and live vicariously through a royally approved pageant.

This was good, but Gwen was a bit too much like Bella in Eclipse for me here almost too self-sacrificing and she needs to learn to trust Dallas to know what he wants. My favorite character in this book was probably Blake (excited for her book next) or Eve. A fun read, but my favorite in this series so far was the first one.

Overall, the first trilogy of this series was a solid 4 stars. Spot on with it being The Selection meets Twilight. This novel was a major letdown.

I thought Dallas was a gaslighting mfer, more so than Eddiboi. Meanwhile, the worst of "Bella" manifested in Finale. Maybe it was because I was listening versus reading but even the narrator seems sick of repeating the same inane, redundant, & illogical bs every chapter. As a way to add angst, strife, & drama without actually adding to the plot, she had to be selfless & have him pick someone else.

As for the traitor nonsense, wouldn't every single human (all the contestants & staff) be related to someone in the resistance. Added to that, why would any of them be loyal to the vampires? They've shown no reason to be. Nor trust them.

Dallas sounded ridiculous for 3 books when he was saying stuff of how he wanted it to be, not how it truly was,as his father was the king, not Dallas. No thought to the traumas suffered, always gaslighting about not trusting him & how she was a bad person for thinking his kind monsters... after his mother murdered her friend in front of everyone & then Dallas drained an entire field of humans in front of her. "How dare you not trust me or think me a monster. I did it for your safety."

In reality, they moved south to conquer an entire race of ppl, enslave them, suck them dry of all resources, forced 50 of their best to be paraded around for a dating competition against their will and without their consent after witnessing the consequences for saying no. Then gaslit everyone who wasn't loyal to them by saying they were biased against vampires.

No shit, Sherlock.

Dallas having a sanctimonious lecture about loyalty & trust & standing up for herself & believing in him after she was coerced.

I wanted any of the contestants to say, maybe Eve even...

Dallas, my dude, we're not all privileged princes. We're being held hostage by your family with the promise of death if we don't toe the line. Don't take it personal that I did as the king wanted. Maybe blame him. Better yet, get your head out of your own ass & see the truth about your own ppl.

This series is very similar to 'The Selection' series. However, there are some differences including the fact that the Prince and his family are Vampires. The author starts this off as rumors which are later shown as the truth. The concept of vampires and humans living side by side and co-existing is a strong idea that both the Prince and Gwyn, the heroine of the story, share. The story is indeed fun to read, following the very cliched concept of a competition to find the best suitor for the Prince. However, the idea behind this is to find a way to unite all the settlements and to bring peace while trying to keep the rebel groups at bay.

The synopsis of the story promises aggressive competition, but nothing about the story is aggressive. The story centers on the chemistry between the Prince and Gwyn, giving us only minor glimpses of the interactions with the other contestants. To keep in line with the contest, there are some sections of the story devoted to etiquette training and history of the kingdom and the settlements. However, there is not a lot of character development for the other girls in the story and this takes away from the main theme of the contest.

The story then continues into the two other books, focusing on the Prince's interaction with the girls, bringing it down to the top four contestants and his relationship with his parents. Each girl is unique in her own way and it is wonderful to read about their rivalries but also about how they come together in the end. We are also provided some insight into Gwyn's background and her family and her relationship with the King and Queen. The love and understanding that develops between her and the prince is beautiful to read about.

Overall, this series is fun and enjoyable especially for those who love the idea of vampires and human's together, though there is not a lot of focus on the supernatural aspect of the characters. The books are short and easy to read. They can each be read in one sitting and are a good stress free read!

It's the third book of this series and the pageant is coming to a close. It's down to four young women left in the competition to become the vampire Prince's wife.

It's not looking good for Gwyn. It's obvious that the vampire King hates her. He wants the prince to chose Tamara since he thinks she'd be best for political reasons. Then her brother turns out to be a rebel and the two of them could lose their heads over that.

So it's possible Gwyn won't win the contest due to being dead.

Then there's still a problem remaining no matter who wins. What happens to the three who don't win? Is there a way to keep them around to help both the vampires and the humans? Is there any chance at all of making peace with the rebels? Will the Prince's very progressive ideas of how to help the humans be approved or will his father demand to do everything his own way?

I really like this series. The Prince is a very good character, actually wanting to end the animosity between the vampires and the humans and now, that he's had a chance to see just how bad a shape the settlements are in, he actually comes up with very practical ideas of how to help the humans and, basically, get good PR for the vampires, a win-win scenario.

I do hope the author does a prequel book, though. I'd like to know more about The Great War and the rise of vampires and werewolves in the North and what happened after that.
