Rate this book
Exoneration is the goal. Survival is the challenge.

Former Army Ranger and ex-con Steve Wolf is making a name for himself as a bounty hunter with Trackdown, Inc., but his past still casts a long shadow. Wrongfully convicted of a war crime he didn’t commit, Wolf is determined to clear his name—but a critical eight-minute gap in his memory stands between him and the truth.

What he doesn’t realize is that his pursuit of justice has put him in the crosshairs of a powerful and ruthless billionaire. This man’s deadly treasure hunt has already left a trail of bodies in its wake, and Wolf is the only obstacle standing between him and his ultimate prize—a priceless artifact worth killing for.

As Wolf pieces together the puzzle, the danger escalates. A relentless squad of elite mercenaries has been sent to eliminate him, and they don’t miss. Outgunned, outnumbered, and hunted across a battlefield where the rules don’t apply, Wolf must rely on his training, instincts, and sheer will to survive.

If you love action-packed thrillers from Brad Taylor, Jack Carr, and Vince Flynn, this high-octane adventure will keep you on the edge of your seat! Grab your copy now and join the fight!

An outstanding book from a first time writer for me. I loved this character from the beginning. Ex Marine Steve is trying to fix his life after being wrongly accused. Right now he has more things to worry about. Definitely gripping all the way.

Never A Dull Moment

Steve Wolf and Mac McFarland are two guys you don't want to run afoul of if you've been arrested and bailed out. If you skip and you get a couple of bounty hunters on your tail like them just turn in yourself! Even without all of the details concerning a botched op in the "Sandbox", Wolf still cannot remember the missing eight minutes of his life that cost him four years in lockup. The details are in his mind but won't come together enough for him to discover what could possibly redeem him from his incarceration and give him a clean record. So, for now he will just have to bide his time and keep working with Mac. There were fewer surprises in this sequel than in book one but still enough to keep the story moving and my interest piqued. Well worth the $$ and time.

As a follow-up to Devil's Dance (Book 1), this was equally entertaining. Wolf has seemingly found his feet as a bounty hunter but is still piecing together what happened to him in Iraq and why he continues to encounter characters he knew from that period as well as some from his last foray into Mexico. This time they're coming to him at home, but he is better prepared. And he has a better feel for what they're after, although he has yet to figure out why.

Devil’s Fancy

Yes it’s a very good read, but I had Steve and Kasey getting together in the middle of book one. Sorry about Rod but he was just a speed bump and filler that led to an attempt on Steve’s life before his release from prison. Looking forward to what comes next like the chase for Jack before he is erased by VD.

A good action story marred by typos

Just when Black is getting you into the action, stupid typos (non-words and wrong words) jump out at you -- spoiling the mood. Take a few hours, hire a high school student, and the end product review will be 5 star, not 4.

Trying Again

At home in Phoenix Mac and Wolf pick up some bond jumpers to earn some money. Meanwhile in New York Von Dein puts together another team to acquire the statue he desires.
