James Hunt's passion for writing began at an early age. While his journal of yesteryear may never be the work of great fiction, he's been working hard every day since then to bring pages to life. James has well over a decade of writing under his belt, but his professional career in literature didn't take off until 2014.
James currently lives in Orlando, FL and when he's not pounding away at the keyboard you can find him at the theater or somewhere outside enjoying the beautiful Florida weather.
Deadly Webs really is a riveting mystery. Rarely am I satisfied with the self-given descriptions of the author, at the beginning of the parentheses, like riveting, un-put-downable, intriguing... But, riveting definitely fits, as would all the other often used adjectives. I started with the North and Martin series, my first reads from author James Hunt, and I enjoyed the series so much I have found his other books on Kindle.
Deadly Webs is a book that is constantly moving, no lulls in the story. It is easy to keep up with the plot, characters, and I always knew what was going on. This was not a book that I could easily see what coming because there was constant twists and turns. It felt like what I would expect an investigation to be. And real life isn't pretty, it isn't wrapped up in a bow with the perfect ending where the good guys win and everything is fair. I wish there was a series with Chase Grant and Susan Mullocks like I read with North and Martin. But in the end this was a satisfying read.
Due to the subject matter of abduction and child/human trafficking I am always leery of overly gratuitous and violent scenes. I had a good idea from the North and Martin series that James Hunt doesn't write gory, graphic abuse scenes. Deadly Web followed suit and I appreciated that. I typically choose to not read those types of books but I enjoy a great police procedural. I think the author does a brilliant job at not crossing that line.

This was a very suspenseful read. Well written plot and story line that kept me engaged from the start. Well fleshed out characters that were interesting to read about. Twists and turns keep the suspense through out and had me guessing til the end. Love this authors works and will keep reading them! Recommend reading.

This book is about abduction, mostly abduction of young girls. If you can't handle that, don't buy it. The villain was worse than evil. The thing that stopped me from giving it a higher rating was the extremely large number of errors. Grammatical errors, punctuation errors, contextual errors. Most of them were relatively small, but there were so many of them! They put the family in the helicopter. It flew away. He got on the plane, and there was the family, hiding in the back of the plane. Mr. Hunt, I hope you will get some editors who pay extra attention to details, because I really do like Mocks and Grant. I bet you could find a lot of people to help with your editing in exchange for a free copy of the book.
Grant his gone through the ringer since his wife and unborn child was killed by a truck driver that feel asleep at the wheel. Life was never the same. Grant and his partner investigate the disappearance of a 9 year old girl. Stalkers, predators, serial killers and kidnapping children's to sale as sex slaves. The work on cases with lower of low life's. Read this engaging and thrilling book and how these two detectives and a world of investigators hunt down evil where evil lives.
This is a fabulous read by one of my favorite authors. The story is very gripping and captured me at the beginning and held me throughout the book. Characters are well-developed and wonderful. Detective Grant is awesome. An excellent book!

Another great read from James, although this is more like a set of short stories all pulled into one. I got very thrown off at the "end" of one story where mid chapter, just a new paragraph nothing to separate it from the previous paragraph, a new character comes in, a new story begins - it was very out of place. None the less I did enjoy this book.
Deadly Webs by James Hunt is a very amazing story that I have read. This is book number three in this amazing series that I have fallen in love reading since the first book. I highly recommend this story to everyone who loves reading about thrillers, suspense and mysteries.

Fantastic read! I have been a fan of James Hunt for a while now. This book did not disappoint me. I had a really hard time putting it down. If I wasn't reading it, I was listening to it. Great characters, tons of action, and it had me on the edge of my seat. I am very much looking forward to book 4 in this series. Great Job!
The story has more twists and turns from the others. New hero, I missed Miriam. The writing made more sense this time. There were still some skips back in time that were unnecessary. This author still needs a better proofreader...the story was action packed and drew you in. On to book four and we will see how the writing and story telling progress.
Would recommend to anyone that wants to know of the depravity of abductions! of
I believe I have read all of the books in this series and it has opened my eyes and saddened me to read how organized the dark web of abductions works. The officials that work to bring this to light work above and beyond anything I can imagine!
This story was about two detectives in the missing persons bureau that start out trying to find a missing child only to find out that they have stumbled upon a much bigger operation. Action packed every step of the way. Great job James Hunt in keeping readers on edge until the very end.
This is a scary reminder of what goes on in this world. Well written. Only criticism, was a few soelling and gramatical errors. Reccomend reading as you will love the hero and heroin.
The move at end ok but not the part about bad guys and him. The lead up fantastic, so much goes on in this mystery, I like it's not explicit. But the characters all very interesting. Their personalities jump off the page.
This is my second time reading this one. It was just as good as the first time. Loved it. Lots of action and love the characters. Wish there were more of these.
Nothing entertains me more than a great mystery novel and this one definitely was a great read. As the widow of a cop I was able to relate to this storyline on so many levels, police officers and their dangerous lives and crazy hours, grief over the loss of a spouse that never goes away, for starters. And as a former nurse who also did child protective services for several years I could also relate to the children's issues. Hopefully I will get to read a lot more of this author's writing.
This novel is constructed very loosely. It seems to be a collection or related, but not necessarily sequential, stories- some better than others, of course. The level of graphic violence is high and often past the point of believability. The author's writing style is somewhat unpolished, containing quite a few grammatical and structural errors as well as confusing language. Numerous editing errors made following the story difficult at times. Overall, though, the characters and the stories are interesting, if somewhat shallow and formulaic.
