Echoes of the Celestial
A Fallen Star Far From Home
Planet-bound and isolated, Aela has been on her own for over a century. With dormant magic and blocked memories, her dreams are her only solace. Haunted by her fiery past, she’s given up hope of reuniting with her family. Yet when Fate smiles upon her, revealing a way back to the stars, she leaps at the chance—even if it means soaring straight into enemy territory.
Forced to play a cruel game of survival in a society riddled with injustice and consumed by amassing power, Aela must keep her true identity a secret while also mastering her mysterious magic, as it continues to grow.
When an unlikely savior offers her an escape from her impending bond, does she trade one tyrant for another? In exchange for aiding his unholy war, he will deliver what she covets most: the one responsible for the downfall of her House.
With the weight of the realm on her shoulders and conflicting feelings warring within her heart, can she face the shadows of her past and the demands of her future before it’s too late for herself, her family, and the realm?

This was one of those books where I kept telling myself, “Just one more chapter…” and suddenly it was 2 a.m….
Echoes of the Celestial absolutely pulled me in from the very first page. The worldbuilding is SO immersive that I genuinely felt like I was traveling alongside Aela. Every new place, every new piece of lore, every mystery had me completely invested.
This story unfolds like a giant puzzle, and I LOVED it. Every answer led to three more questions, and I was constantly coming up with new theories. Just when I thought I had something figured out… nope. 😂
Aela is such an easy heroine to root for. Watching her discover who she is and step into her power was incredibly satisfying. She’s resilient, compassionate, and seriously badass.
And can we talk about the romance?! 😮💨 The slow burn. The tension. The banter. The longing. It was EVERYTHING. I was grinning, kicking my feet, and internally screaming more than once.
Beyond the romance, this book delivers action, political intrigue, fascinating celestial lore, magical powers, unforgettable creatures, and moments that absolutely wrecked me emotionally. One particular scene about family and grief had me full-on crying. ❤️🩹
If you love:
✨ Slow burn romance
🌌 Celestial-inspired magic
⚔️ Deadly trials
🧩 Mysteries that keep you guessing
🩵 A powerful FMC finding her strength
🖤 A book that has you making theories every few chapters…
…add this one to your TBR.
That ending left my jaw on the floor, my brain spinning, and me desperately needing book two.

Thank you so much to Siobhan and team for sending the the ARC!
WOW… I honestly don’t even know where to start because this was an easy 5 stars and i am completely obsessed. Aela has been isolated and planet-bound for over a century with dormant magic and blocked memories, and watching her claw her way back to the stars and into her own power was so emotionally captivating i couldn’t put it down. she is exactly the kind of FMC i love to read about..fierce, emotionally layered, with the perfect amount of rage and empathy. the yearning between her and Eros was absolutely delicious and their connection had me fully invested from the moment they shared a page together. the world building and magic system were so unique and the writing was descriptive enough to pull me completely into this world. every character felt distinct and real and i found myself emotionally connected to all of them. that ending has me absolutely desperate for book two and i need to know how Aela is going to step into her role as a primary… i am so ready!!

4.25 stars
What a fascinating book and premise! The main characters in this book are stars (in their mortal form) who were created and cursed by the gods. They all belong to a zodiac house, granting them unique magic specific to that zodiac. The FMC has a hidden identity and has been in hiding ever since the downfall of her own house. Well…. She is found, and others want to use her for her own power.
“𝗜 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝘀𝗮𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗲. 𝗕𝗲𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘆 𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗮𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁–𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗜 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗽𝗹𝘂𝗰𝗸 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗯𝗼𝗱𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝘆 𝘀𝗻𝗮𝗸𝗲."
I admit I was very confused for the first half of this book. I know nothing about astrology, stars, space, etc. (lol if only my husband working in aerospace saw this), so the worldbuilding was very intense for me, and, at times, difficult to imagine. Thankfully, things start to make more sense as you read more into the book. READ. ON.
“𝗚𝗼𝗱𝘀, 𝗜’𝘃𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝘆𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀?”
The budding romance was EVERYTHING. I ate it up. Think Rhysand rescuing Feyre from her wedding and her hiding away among the stars until she agrees to trust Rhysand and keep his secrets. This man is obsessed with her and is the true definition of devotion. There is a lot packed into this book, and because of this, I feel like there are so many potential spoilers. You just have to trust me on this one, and give it a read.
“𝗦𝗵𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗺𝘆 𝘄𝗲𝗮𝗸𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀.”
“𝗦𝗵𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘀𝗮𝗹𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻.”
I still think about this book daily–its uniqueness, the parts I still don’t have answers to, unforgettable scenes up among the stars… (the… nonmortal form ones?), and that abrupt ending. I have very high hopes for the rest of this series because I can tell it’s going to be epic.

Whoa.... and I say that with the utmost appreciation, what did I just read. This book, this masterpiece created by Siovonne, is simply incredible. The fact that it is her debut novel in this series and ends with the reader (me at least) cursing and throwing things because now I have to wait for book 2, is amazing.
Let's get into it... Our FMC is strong, resilient and celestial. Her story, and the facets to her history are so well contrived and mesmerizing. I can not wait to see where we go from here. Our MMC... the slow burn, the heat from them both, is sizzling. So, so good. Swoon worthy for sure.
The world building in this one is so good too. Destroyed constellations and stars, a misplaced leader who has to hide away. The intrigue and mystery of what happened and how we got to where we are. It truly is like once you get the pieces all together, your brain just can't wait to keep going.
Seriously, bravo! Add this to your TBR stat! She releases August 6!

What a solid debut by @siobhanvossauthor!!!
The world Shiv has created is intensely unique and I love it! It’s like the perfect mix of scifi and fantasy, the magic system (crystal magic!) is very interesting and unlike anything I’ve ever read.
This is multi pov (3rd person perspective) and not all of the povs are necessarily “good” guys which obviously I loved because yes please, give me all the sides!! Our FMC Aela is smart and she’s strong, and she harbors a LOT of secrets. The secrets will drive you crazy in the best way and keep you theorizing! Be prepared for not all of your questions to be answered because this is very much setting the stage for a fantastic trilogy and I can’t wait for more answers!
I would not classify this as a romantasy, this is an epic fantasy with a romantic subplot but it’s gonna take a minute to burn! Trust the process. There are a lot of moving pieces in this story and I had a great time guessing who the MMC would turn out to be. 👀👀👀 And baby when it hit…it hit so hard. 😭😭😭
Soooo book 2 is when?? Cause like….I need answers after that ending please and thank you!! And thank you so so much to @siobhanvossauthor for letting me read this extra early. 🥹🥹 No, you’re still not forgiven but I love you.

Recieved as an advanced reading copy by the author and Grimm&Co
This was such an immersive and immense world! So much lore, history, and vocabulary to learn. A bonus is that I love astrology and crystals so I already knew most of that.
It took me a while to get into to story and keep focus. Both because the world-building is so deep and spread out, but also because I found it a little difficult to grasp what the story really was about. It takes a while before it becomes more apparent what Aela's story will be. Which does make sense since she doesn't really know either. Other than her plans keep getting derailed—by fate, maybe?
This story is, at its core, about power, how it is used, and how it can corrupt. It's about balance between those that govern and the ones they govern and how. Aela's many secrets become hard to keep when fate takes over and derails her plans to go home, once the opportunity presented itself.
We have a villain, one who will keep you at the edge of your seat in hopes they die.
We have friendships blooming under harsh conditions.
Then there's a darkness, The Darkness, an entity coming for them all, that looms always, and seem to keep an eye out for Aela.
Lastly, we have an MMC, Eros, who is hard to figure out, remains in the shadows, keeping his agenda and motives hidden. The tension between him and Aela is excellent and the payoff is exquisite! But it is a slow burn, a true one. So prepare yourself!
The last 30% kept me locked and I am excited for book 2!
There are a lot of characters to know and keep track of. It is 3rd POV with multiple people, and I mean multiple. 10 different POVs throughout the story, with 4 being the dominant ones. Others are just briefly. They do add a lot to the story, so it isn't a bad thing. Just something that took me by surprise, and can be a little confusing with 3rd POV.

Between Stars, Magic and Hidden Secrets
'Echoes of the Celestial' is a fantasy that immediately promises a lot: a fallen star far from home, dormant magic, blocked memories, dangerous alliances and a heroine caught between her past and an uncertain future. The concept is intriguing, but the execution takes some time to fully come together.
The magical system is definitely one of the most distinctive elements of the story. Astrology is woven into the magic in a way that feels different from the usual fantasy systems. It took quite a while to understand exactly how everything worked, especially with limited knowledge of astrology going into the story. At times, this made the magic feel complicated rather than mysterious, but it was also one of the most interesting parts because there was genuinely something new to learn along the way.
Aela is a compelling character to follow. Her search for answers about her identity, her family and her powers gives the story a strong underlying mystery. The dangerous situation she finds herself in also creates plenty of tension, particularly when it becomes unclear who can actually be trusted. The power struggles, hidden agendas and morally questionable choices add some welcome darkness to the story.
Where the book loses some of its strength is in the pacing. Certain developments happen rather quickly, leaving some moments feeling underdeveloped. More room to explore the characters, their emotions and the consequences of certain events would have made the story more impactful. There were moments where the story seemed ready to dive deeper, only to move on before it could really land.
Still, the combination of fantasy, astrology and magic makes 'Echoes of the Celestial' stand out. It is an ambitious story with an unusual magical system and plenty of mysteries, even if not every element is equally well developed.
A fascinating concept with celestial magic, secrets and power struggles, but one that would have benefited from a little more breathing room.
Thank you so much, Siobhan Voss, for providing an ARC. This review reflects my honest and personal opinion.

Okay, this world was just plain cool. I was obsessed with the magic system and loved learning more about it as the story went on. It felt fresh, different, and kept surprising me.
This is one of those books where you just settle in and let the story take you on the ride. I had a million questions, a dozen theories, and I already need book two. If you love getting completely lost in a unique fantasy world, this one is absolutely worth picking up. I loved the blend of scifi and fantasy go read this one it’s so well done!

I just finished my ARC copy of Echoes of the Celestial and I know I will still be thinking about these characters for days.
Be ready to enter into an intensely unique world that perfectly blends what us readers would love to read in a sci-fi and fantasy novel with a crystal-based magic system, the Zodiac Houses, the constellations, and so much more that I simply had to put my pen down so I could fully enjoy being immersed in this universe.
Echoes of the Celestial is very much an epic fantasy with a romance thread rather than a romantasy, which I love but know some readers don’t, so be prepared! The burn 🔥 is one of the slower ones I’ve encountered and highly recommend if you need to take a break from all of the very fast paced romances out there today. Told in multi-POV / third person, which works best given each characters personality. Not all of our characters are your typical readers viewed “good,” but, honestly, Voss did a good job balancing their morally gray compasses as it adds the depth needed to connect to the characters. Our FMC is smart, strong-willed, and, ✨ surprise ✨ , is carrying secrets. The MMC is steadfast and mysterious. Our MCs slow-burn romantic subplot is oh so tantalizing that i just know book two is going to have so much more but I also love the authenticity we read in book 1 so we can really connect with them.
⛔️ Warning!‼️ There are a lot of moving pieces and characters early on, so the first half you’re going to want to lock in - glossary in the back is key and totally worth bookmarking for quick flips. Once I made it into the second half, I was so sucked in I fell asleep reading which hasn’t happened since reading the Thorn of Glass series. The ending is epic, emotional, and such a perfect cliffhanger I am itching for book two and this book to be released already! You’re not forgiven for that ending, but I love you for it anyways and can’t wait for book two. 😭❤️🩹

I really wanted to love Echoes of the Celestial because so many of the individual elements are right up my alley like dark academia vibes, trials, an intriguing fantasy world, and a high-stakes competition. Unfortunately, I ended up DNFing around 25%.
There was just SO much happening so quickly. The story seemed to move from one setting and concept to another before I had enough time to fully understand the world, connect with the characters, or get my footing in the plot. At times I felt like I finally understood what was happening, only for another twist, character, or piece of worldbuilding to be introduced.
As someone with ADHD, the combination of the fast moving plot, frequent shifts, and number of characters made it especially difficult for me to keep everything straight. I found myself going back to reread sections rather than getting lost in the story.
There are a lot of really interesting ideas here, and I can absolutely see this working for readers who love complex, fast paced fantasy with lots of moving pieces. Unfortunately, this one just wasn’t a match for the way my brain likes to read.
⭐️⭐️⭐️ — DNF @ 25%

Wow what a fantastic book. Very unique. Absolutely loved the vibe of this whole book. Highly recommend.
We follow our FMC Aela, she is struggling with her uncontrollable powers. She has been isolated and stuck on a planet for such a long time. She needs to learn how to control her abilities before the realm and her home are consumed by the Darkness.
I loved Aela, she is such a strong, resilient and powerful FMC. She is sick of people trying to control her. She is overwhelmed after finding out she is the key to the realm's salvation or it's destruction. As if she didn't already have enough going on. But she steps up and gets sh!t done because that is who she is.
Eros, now this man.... I loved him from the second we met him; and boy oh boy is this man cocky. Why do I seem to always root for the cocky bad guys 🤣 He is extremely powerful and protective.
Zosma, absolutely adored him. He was such a loyal and intelligent character. 👏🏽
Arche, another fantastic addition to the book. Loved his personality.
Ahh the tension and chemistry in this book was crazy!! This is a slowish burn, and when it hit, I was like yesss finally!!! I loved every minute of it. 🔥🔥
This book requires a lot of brain power 😉 so much lore and background information. I honestly had the best time with this book. I was drawn in from the beginning, and it held my attention the entire time.
The plot is highly addictive, trying to piece together all the information you're getting. It's fast paced and action packed. So much happening in the background with all the different Zodiac Houses and the Primary's. The political intrigue was epic. So many side deals happening and betrayals. Who the heck do we trust.
The world building in this was outstanding, atmospheric and immersive. Honestly such a vibe! 10/10! Truely one of a kind. I could picture everything as if I was there.
There are so many amazing side characters in this book. They all brought something different to the story. There were some with big personalities that added a lot tension and suspense.
The last 10% is action packed and stressful. Had me on the edge of my seat. Questioning absolutely everything.
And don't get me started on that ending!! 🤯🤯🤯
Cannot wait for the next book.
Thank you to the Author for sending me an arc of this book. 🩷

First off, thank you to Siobhan for the opportunity to be an arc reader for her debut novel. All opinions are my own. Second, I would've finished this book in a day had Amazon not locked me out of my accounts: Amazon, Kindle, and Audible for over 24 hours. With that being said you are hooked from the start with this debut novel. Buckle up babes, because Siobhan takes you for one hell of a ride with this one!
World building: Wow oh wow! I absolutely love the world Siobhan has built around the Zodiac signs. Also writing about crystals, like what!?! I was hooked the moment it talked about crystals and their significance and properties. Crystal obsessed girlie over here! Siobhan is detailed, allowing for a more immersive experience. You're practically in the story with Aela (FMC) and all the characters as the story unfolds. This is one of those refreshing worlds, because of the uniqueness.
Characters: I absolutely LOVE Aela (FMC). How can you not with the way Siobhan has written her. Aela is strong, smart, determined, and selfless. Aela tries to be selfish and stay focused on her journey to get back home, but her heart is big. She's the refreshing heroine that I needed and wanted to binge. Favorite side characters Arche and of course Seba. Arche is flirtatious, fun, and cheery, even in moments where he needs to be serious. Seba, I need a little crochet stuffie of you, and that's all I will say on this character. You'll have to read to find out who Seba is. As for the MMC, his introduction is later and honestly I'm not mad about it. By the time it came to his introduction, I was clenching my Kindle trying to read as fast as I can; I'm talking up til 3am/4am wanting to know what happens next.
Plot twists: Excuse me!!!! HELLO. I was not expecting what Siobhan just punches you with. The gasp that I gusped! You'll have to read the book, because I cannot divulge further on this, because no no no to spoilers for this one!
Other notes: I'm still dazed from the wild ride, especially the twist that you're hit with. Siobhan, I'm going to need BOOK 2 like ASAP, please and thank you. The multi-POV at the beginning confused me until I got my bearings. Definitely pay attention, so you stay on track. I honestly think I lost track cause most of my reading was done super late at night and into the wee hours of the morning. Again, I was clutching my Kindle not wanting to go to sleep, because I wanted to know what happened next. I absolutely enjoyed this book, and I truly cannot wait to see where Siobhan takes us with the series.

ARC reader, this is my honest review and not a reflection of anyone but myself. Thank you to Siobhan and team for the opportunity to read this!!!
Snapshot:
Genre - Fantasy with some romance
Tropes - Forced proximity, power dynamics, corrupt aristocracy, secret identities, political intrigue (this is not a complete list of tropes, just the ones I find most interesting)
Setting: Space, specifically the Zodiac primary cities
Spice: 2 - open door, explicit but very minimal, it takes a back seat to the story
Onions: 2 - got some good tears in but not bawling, some places do hit ya good
Surprises: 4 - flabbers ghasted, A LOT
Loves:
~Plot twists! My flabbers were ghasted often.
~Depiction of our universe (very cool take IMO)
~The research & lore that went into the world, crystals, and astrology. It was incredibly refreshing.
~Dynamic between FMC + MMC. Yes, I cried.
Likes:
~The villain, I feel, is well written. I progressively grew to like them less and less through the novel.
~SEBA - I will make you all the little hats
~Aela's journey. It's messy & really reflective of inner struggle; making her very relatable.
~The "social commentary" about power dynamics, corrupt aristocracy/people, & history. All things at the forefront of society right now.
Gripes:
~There is no second book at the moment (she's workin on it!). I needed this book yesterday.
~Some transitions can feel jarring, but they are few and far between. For a debut novel it's very well written and edited IMO.
~I wanted more between the FMC + MMC; BUT, I will fully admit this is a selfish gripe. The pacing and development was perfect for me - which is exactly why I wanted more. So, be aware you'll be left wanting more!
~Slow to start, which I found I didn't mind once it picked up. Once it picked up it picked up! It wasn't so slow that I couldn't stay in it and keep going, but it does have a bit of a slower start.
TLDR:
This is a fantastic book. I genuinely enjoyed this book and I wish I could give a half star rating. I'm giving it a 5 star because I feel like, for me again, it is closer to a 5 star rating than a 4 star. I love the characters, and the plot twist REALLY sold the novel for me. The lore and world building is fantastic, again in my opinion. I gasped, I cried, I wanted to throw my tablet across the room, and literally screamed a few times.
Highly worth the read!!

Review of advance copy
An addictive romantasy set in space with a brilliant magic system! (4.5/5 stars) ⭐
I usually annotate a ton while reading ARCs, but with Echoes of the Celestial, I barely had time to type notes because I was way too busy binge-reading. From the very first chapters, it pulls you right into the story.
☆ The Worldbuilding & Magic
The concept of different realms based on constellations and the fragile peace between their primary stars felt so unique and well-executed. I loved the magic system, and the dreamscape scenes in particular were incredibly intriguing to read.
☆ Characters & Chemistry
Aela (FMC): I loved her right from the start. She’s got a great no-nonsense, "let's go" attitude that makes her an awesome protagonist.
☆ Zosma: In other reviews a lot of the readers keep talking about Arche as the best side character, but honestly? For me, it's Zosma. Loved him right from his introduction! Sulae was another great addition with her directness.
☆The Slow-Burn Romance: The MMC isn't properly introduced until well past the halfway mark, but the build-up, attraction, and tension between him and Aela made the wait 100% worth it.
☆ Writing & ARC Notes
There are quite a few POV shifts, so you really have to pay attention in the beginning to keep track of everyone.
⚠️ SPOILER SECTION ⚠️
○ Grief & Emotion: The writing surrounding the grief for her Line and being the last of the Pisces bloodline was so well done. You could genuinely feel the heavy depression in those chapters.
○ Tarek: Aela forming a blade of water, freezing it to ice, ripping Tarek’s beating heart out, and burning him to ash?! Wauw. Absolutely savage and such a satisfying end for him.
○ The Ending: That final twist at the end? Did NOT see that coming!
Final Verdict:
A clever, fast-paced space romantasy that completely hooked me. If you love unique constellation magic, strong heroines, and top-tier romantic tension, definitely pick this one up!
‼️ I voluntarily wrote this review after ARC reading this story, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

A fallen star far from home, Aela has spent the last century alone. When an opportunity finally arises to escape, she seizes it… only to fall into the hands of someone determined to exploit her power. Forced into a game she never agreed to play, Aela finds herself caught in the middle of growing unrest. With abilities that exceed even her own understanding, she must find a way to free herself, can she face the shadows of her past and the demands of her future before it’s too late?
Let me tell you, this book was so interesting. If you’re into the zodiac, celestial lore, and crystals, I’m pretty sure you’ll enjoy this one. It’s an incredibly immersive high fantasy with rich backstory, extensive world-building, unraveling mysteries, and deeply layered points of view that pulled me in far more than I expected. While this is first and foremost a high fantasy with a romantic subplot, the little romance we do get is exceptionally well done.
Aela feels incredibly human. She is compassionate, caring, resilient, and genuinely kind-hearted. Burdened by scars that make it difficult to access her magic, she stands out in a world consumed by greed through her unwavering selflessness and desire to help others and bring balance and justice.
And our MMC? Powerful, brooding, mysterious, and, dare I say… a little obsessed. The romance is an incredibly slow burn, filled with delicious tension and small quirks that made it all the more enjoyable.
One thing I definitely recommend is not skipping the glossary. It became my best friend, especially in the beginning. There is a lot of terminology and lore to take in, and having it on hand made following the story much easier. Considering just how expansive the world-building is, it’s well worth referring back to. And that ending? It had me on the edge of my seat, I was not prepared for it in the slightest!
If you’re looking for a richly built fantasy packed with celestial lore, mystery, and a beautifully slow-burning romance, Echoes of the Celestials is well worth adding to your TBR.

ARC REVIEW
Tropes:-
- Romantasy
- Forced proximity
- Power dynamics
- Corruption
- Secret identities
- Space
- Some spice
- Some amazing surprises and plot twists
- Stunning world building
- Astronomy and astrology
My main love is the research that went into the lore, the world building and astrology. This is one of the big things that make me love a book and get disappointed when its minimal or confusing. Siobhan does a wonderful job and puts enough information in to help your imagination without overshadowing other parts of the book.
The dynamics between each character was great and you could feel it building more as you read on. The villain was written to perfection and the more you find out about them the more you hate them. They are a proper villain in every sense.
Aela is very relatable and loving. You get to see her struggles, her inner monologues and how she grows to overcome them. It allows you to draw comparisons with the real world and I really loved Aela for this.
A lot of the categories in this book can be applied to the world that we live in today from the corruption to the struggles that a lot go through everyday. It beautifully draws on your emotions and has you drawn to characters in this fantasy setting.
Siobhan does a wonderful job with the pace of the book, nothing ever feels stale, forced or rushed. You get drawn in and before you know it, are at the end of the book and wondering if begging for the second book would make it come any quicker :D
It was a slow start but not slow that it drew anything out and made it stale but like a gentle stroll led you down the garden path before hitting you in the face with an amazing story.
This is a fabulous debut book and I cannot wait for the next book. I highly recommend to read this now or at least have it in your TBR.
Thank you for the chance to read this great book.

Characters: 1.5/1.5 🌟
Plot: 2/2 🌟
Writing Style: 1/1.5 🌟
My Thoughts: AHHHHHHHH. In love. 10/10 No Words. Need Book 2 STAT!!!
Okay well, I lied I actually do have words, quite a handful of them too. Firstly, aside from some writing quirks, this book was phenomenal. Now, when I say writing quirks, I mean there were some sections where I was a bit lost because of the book formatting. However, this could also be just how my Kindle had downloaded the EPub file. The dialogue with the EPOCs was the biggest hurdle because of this viewing error as it was hard to distinguish the conversations from the regular text. There were also some gaps in the plot at certain points that made it seem jumpy at times, but in the end it all wrapped up beautifully.
Secondly, the plot... I was hooked on this book's plot like a swan to water. Evidently, it was making me want to hold off on finishing this because I didn't want it to be over. Siobhan uses the themes of Zodiac signs and magical elements in such a unique way, to the point I was on the edge of my seat wondering who was going to be introduced next and what house would appear. Of course, I was devastated to find the state of my house and cried a little for one of the characters of said house.
Finally, that brings us to the characters of the book itself. To be blunt, I wasn't ready to part with these characters. Zosma and Arche quickly became my favorites because of their loyalty and seeing how the two differed to one another. Siobhan did an excellent job creating a personality for each character, to where you are can feel their emotions through the page.
In the end, I am extremely grateful to Siobhan and Tara for trusting and allowing me to have an Advanced Reader Copy of this beautiful book. I can't wait for book 2...Siobhan please stop teasing us I beg...and look forward to hopefully getting to be on the ARC team for book 2!

.5-1/5🌶️
So this book was not what I was expecting it to be in the best way possible. It does get a little confusing in some parts due to all of the moving pieces (characters) but a little backtracking will help. To me this book was like Stargate SG1 (travel rings) meets Stardust (a movie about a fallen star that is being hunted by a witch) but with a shadow daddy, more trauma, more drama, & more fighting. A few teeny tiny typos/grammatical errors. The story progression was really really good, a lot better than I thought it would be honestly. The whole timeline came together so seamlessly & I couldn't pinpoint any plot holes. It is easy to read & understand once you get all of the characters straightened out. The different spin on using zodiac signs as different realms of people was so refreshing, & the magic/power systems within each realm!! UUGGHH!! Soooo freakin good!! I don't want to give anything away & if I talk about the MC's too much then there will be spoilers. Just know that Aela (FMC) is a smart woman with a crap ton of power, she also is a crystal expert so she's my new bestie. Eros (MMC) is a leader of Aries & is ruthless (shadow daddy), Tarek (sideMMC) is the power hungry narcissistic sociopath that rules Taurus, Tala (sideFMC) is Tarek's twin sister & his enabler, Arche (sideMMC) was once Tarek's bestie but pulled away due to how Tarek is a douche, & Zosma (sideMMC) is the loyal body guard to Aela. Lots of characters & character development, lots of finding themselves, & lots of standing up to sh*tty rulers in the most petty ways (love it!). The ABRUPT ending (FREAKING CLIFFHANGER!!) had me so mad!! I absolutely need book 2 like 10 minutes ago!!!
Overall, I loved it & I will probably reread it. Congratulations to the author for this amazing debut novel!!

An exciting fantasy world filled with star signs, a girl hiding from her past with more power than she knows what to do with and fate just won’t seem to leave her alone.
You follow the FMC, who’s been hiding out on a human planet for the past 100 years after the destruction of her own planet and people. She does her best to blend in and hide both her unique features and powers that would give her away as one of the stars that control them. But when she’s found and taken in by the primary of the Taurus constellation who is able to discern the power she’s been hiding and wants to make her his bonded so that way he can finally ascend with even more power. She’s forced back into a world full of stars competing for power, under a man who really only wants to use her, but luckily she’s able to connect to those under him who sees the people he’s been sacrificing and corruption to gain more power and want to help set her free.
I really liked the FMC and her own journey as she struggled with so much loss that she is hesitant to connect to others but slowly learning that those connections are what help keep her connected to her humility and not become corrupt like some of those around her and give her something to fight for. I also loved this darkness personified that while it consumed all others, seems to protect her, and so is the dark and broody star of Aries that just wants to help her. I love a found family and those around her who were trying to help and was devastated by the ones she got close to that were lost due to the greed of others. The ending had an interesting reveal that I’m excited to see how it shakes out in the next book, overall my rating 4.7/5!
Thanks to the author for the gifted copy, all opinions given are my own!

First of all I would like to thank the author for gifting me this ARC.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️☆ (4/5)
Echoes of the Celestial follows Aela, a mysterious heroine who has lived for over a century, carrying dormant magic and fragmented memories of her past. We first meet her surviving alone on a barren planet, but after an attempted kidnapping she discovers a gateway to a realm of stars, Zodiac Houses, and political intrigue.
The world-building was one of the strongest aspects of the novel. The different Houses, their rivalries, and the underlying politics create an intriguing backdrop, even if it takes a little time to understand how everything fits together. Once Aela is drawn into the Games and forced to remain by Tarek’s side, the stakes continue to rise. Tarek believes he is destined to become the Primary of his House, but his interest in Aela is driven more by the immense power awakening within her than by any genuine connection.
I especially enjoyed watching Aela slowly uncover pieces of her past while trying to navigate a society built on power and manipulation. A surprising alliance with the leader of another House offers her a chance at freedom and an opportunity to right old wrongs, adding another compelling layer to the story.
The pacing is a little uneven at times, particularly in the early chapters while the world is being established, but the payoff is worth it. By the end, the story has built to an exciting conclusion that raises plenty of new questions and leaves you eager to pick up book two to see what happens next.
If you enjoy epic fantasy with cosmic settings, magical powers, political intrigue, and a slow unraveling mystery, Echoes of the Celestial is definitely worth checking out.

ARC Review
Thank you to Siobhan Voss for the opportunity to read Echoes of the Celestial.
This book was different from anything I have read before, and that ended up being one of my favorite things about it. I love when a book surprises me and takes me somewhere I wasn’t expecting.
We follow Aela, who has been stranded and exiled on a desert planet for over a century. Her magic has been silenced, and she is trying to understand the pieces of her past that are still missing. When she returns to the stars, she begins uncovering more about herself, her family, and the magic she has been trying to understand.
Aela was a character I really enjoyed following. She has faced so much, but she keeps moving forward while trying to figure out who she is and what she is capable of. She is strong and resilient.
This is a very detailed sci-fi world. Between the zodiac houses, rival houses, multiple POVs, and the many characters introduced throughout the story, there is a lot to keep track of. I found myself taking notes in my ARC journal because I wanted to remember the characters, places, and terms while figuring out how everything connected.
I really appreciated the extra resources included in the book. The map, pronunciation guide, character information, and definitions for the different terms and names of the gods, helped me understand the world as I read.
This was not a book I wanted to rush through. I loved how invested I became in the story. This is the kind of book I needed to give myself time with because there were so many details to absorb. I found myself slowing down, making notes, and putting the pieces together as I read.
Highly recommend!!

“She wasn’t trying to build ties here and didn’t want to put down roots. She didn’t belong. But it seemed Fate had other plans.”
I am an avid crystal lover and believer in all things related to natural healing, so the premise of this book immediately pulled me in. The representation of crystal properties is spot on, and this book has a whimsical, lyrical feel to it. The world building is incredibly unique and detailed, using zodiac signs to create the world with a heavy emphasis on god/goddess lore. For those who love poetic, epic fantasy with a touch of romance, this book is a great choice.
Aela is thrust into a game of life or death in an unknown world while on a journey to find her family. Through so many obstacles, secrets unveiled, and ventures into the unknown, she has to accept who she is and who fate always intended for her to become.
Underneath the fantasy elements of this book is an uplifting story about stabilizing societal power imbalance, fighting against oppression, and leading with intention.
What you’ll find in this book:
🔹God/goddess lore
🔹Accurate crystal healing representation
🔹Detailed world building
🔹Unique and epic magic system
🔹Political intrigue
🔹The fight against oppression
🔹Societal power struggles
🔹Slow burn romance
🔹Found family
🔹Unbroken curses
🔹Fated obstacles
🔹Whimsical dreamscapes
This book is intentionally slow and detailed the majority of the way through to focus on world building - paced as all good fantasy books are - and picks up rapidly at the end. Although there are a lot of puzzles unsolved, I’m really intrigued and excited to see what’s next in Aelas story.
Thank you for sharing an ARC with me, Siobhan! ❤️

I’ll be honest, this book was absolutely not what I expected… and that is SUCH a good thing. I find that “romantasy” novels are feeling very formulaic, and this fantasy debut by Siobhan Voss was such a welcome reprieve from everything else I’ve been reading lately.
To be clear, I wouldn’t label this romantasy. At all. This is a fantastic fantasy novel with a romance sub subplot. The slowest burn in the history of slow burns. If you enjoyed the tension and romance delay of Smoke and Scar, you will absolutely love this.
Aela has been waiting for her chance at redemption for a millennium. Stuck on a desert planet that suppresses her magic, her memories of her family and origins dim, all she hopes for is a chance to find them again and to keep everyone safe.
Everyone seems out to get her. Truly foul and power-hungry beings want to use her to their own ends. But she persists, meets others with similar altruistic goals, including an unlikely ally with dark secrets of their own.
Will she find the vengeance she seeks? Will she embrace how powerful she is and stop hiding? This book ends on a tiny cliffhanger that sets up what I think is a really interesting plot line. I’m excited for other people to read it, and see if they picked up on the twists and currents of where this author seems to be taking the characters.
Highly recommend. Make good life choices and read this book, and then tell me all your thoughts!

✨️ ECHOES OF THE CELESTIAL ✨️
Do you need a read that is completely different than anything you are currently reading in the fantasy genre? Well, let's sit down for a spot of tea 🍵 and let me introduce you to this book. It is what I like to call Romantasy Space Crack.
We have an epic sci-fi vibing fanatasy with a sub-plot of romance set in a Zodiac House Constellation with Celestial Powers, Deadly Trials, Elemental Magic, Bonded Creatures, Rebellion, Found Family, Secret Identities, and a Celestial Realm on the verge of annihilation.
Enter Aela. This is one badass chick. She is a fallen star with powers unlike any in the realm. Planet-bound and isolated, Aela has been on her own for over a century. With dormant magic and blocked memories, her dreams are her only solace. And all she wants to do is get back home. But then, she is captured. And well, all heck breaks loose. The odds are stacked heavily against her. And these power-hungry Celestials want her for their own greed and power. But they really have another thing coming if they think they can control her. And there is this one small thing: a realm to save.
Siobhan has created a gripping world with twists and turns that will make your brain really work. When you think you might have it figured out, boom, another diversion. It is a truly fascinating and wild ride, and after that ending, I cannot wait to see what Book Two brings!
Thank you so much @siobhanvossauthor for this ARC!

🪐E-Arc Review🪐
Echoes of the Celestial (The Astral Archives, Book 1) by Siobhan Voss.
I really enjoy the book. The beginning took me a little while to get into because there's a lot of world-building and new information, but once everything started coming together, I didn't want to stop reading.
I really enjoyed following Aela and slowly learning more about her past. The story keeps revealing little pieces without giving everything away at once, which kept me curious the whole time. The world itself was interesting too, especially the mix of celestial magic, different Houses and all the politics happening behind the scenes.
I love how this story treats romance as a slow-burn subplot while keeping the main focus entirely on the fantasy. This deliberate pacing is fantastic because it gives the world and the characters plenty of room to breathe, develop and grow.
The ending definitely left me wanting more and I'm excited to see where the next book goes. It's a solid start to the series.
If you like fantasy with romance subplot you should definitely read this book.
Thank you Siobhan Voss for giving me the opportunity to read this wonderful arc 💕

4/5 💫
This might be my favorite Zodiac-Inspired book! While I do admit, I don’t know much about Zodiac signs and celestial terms, this book was easy to follow and had me researching more about the lore of each house.
We follow Aela, a fallen star that has been stuck in a barren planet for a century, when one day, she is almost kidnapped by a mysterious man. That day she decided she was going to fight for her freedom and get back home to her family. When she escapes, she’s roped into deadly trials called The Games. Will she survive long enough to make it to her family?
The romance was full of yearning, angst ,and banter . It was a delicious subplot to the epic story that was this book.
“And when it comes to you, I can never stay away”
“If you think anyone who has touched you or wished you harm has gone unpunished, you’re mistaken”
The writing was lyrical and inspiring. I loved all of the metaphors and phrases used to describe the world building and made the read a very whimsical experience.
“Anxiety is born in what-ifs. But so was hope”
“Chaos gained favor. And favor gained power.”
Burn me without name, this book was good! Can’t wait to read more.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 (4.5 rounded up)
Spice: 🌶🌶
Astrology, crystals, zodiac houses, and characters who are stars in mortal form... yes please!
I was reading this until my eyes couldn't stay open anymore. It's such a unique story, honestly, out of this world... literally 🤣 Sorry, couldn't help myself.
The rich world-building made this incredibly immersive. The different settings were so vivid, I feel like I've visited these places. There's also a fantastic mix of complex characters, and a fair few 3rd person POVs which I loved!
FMC Aela is resilient, fierce, compassionate and caring, with a tortured past and no end of secrets she's desperate to keep. She's just trying to get home, but fate clearly has other ideas. Watching her develop throughout the journey and rediscover her power was incredible.
And the slow-burn romance? So good! Top class banter, tension and yearning had me completely invested and has left me begging for more.
There are intriguing mysteries and twists galore, and I genuinely didn't stand a chance of guessing where things were going. I can usually make a pretty decent guess at what's coming, but this one kept catching me out 🤣
I found myself a little confused occasionally in the first 30% or so, but then everything started clicking into place and I was completely hooked.
Highlights for me:
• Sci-fi fantasy
• Slow-burn romance subplot
• Elemental magic
• Zodiac houses
• Morally grey characters
• Hidden identities
• Intriguing mysteries
• Twists galore
• Fantastic cliffhanger
• Rich world-building
I still can't believe this is a debut! I'm very excited to see where this goes next. Pretty sure this series is going to be epic!

📚Book: Echoes of the Celestial
✍🏼Author: Siobhan Voss
⭐️Rating: 5/5
😀Genre: Romantasy
🌶Spice Level: 1/5
⏰When Read: August 2026
Our wonderful FMC, Aela, is such a strong, compassionate, and inspiring lady. Not kidding when I mention strong; she has the balls to do whatever and back it up. It's so easy to fall in love with her. I was fascinated with her background, and it kept me very interested the entire way through. Learning more about her throughout had me making theories and dropping my jaw. Also, it makes it easier for me to understand why she does what she does. She is in an awful situation, but she doesn’t let that stop her from getting what she wants. She meets some wonderful beings along the way who help her grow while she also helps them.
Our shadow daddy, MMC?!? Please ma’am, I’m ready to see more of them together. Their chemistry is truly unmatched, and the BURNNNN is amazing. Truly a slow burn. The short amount of time we had with him had me wanting more, especially after learning a little more about him. I’m so ready for book 2, it’s not even a joke.
Lastly, the ending??? The plot twist??? Amazing truly! 10/10. It was like a thought, but I didn’t really expect it to happen, but when it did…
So, if you are looking to get more into Romantasy and are looking for a new author… I’ll recommend this book and author a thousand times over! Echoes of the Celestial is a great story if you love a strong FMC, a SLOW BURN, and magical things. It was one of those where I’m like “just one more chapter ” unfortunately (not really); it never turned out to be just one more.

This was... interesting.
After reading the synopsis I was so excited to dive into this book. But after I started reading it, I wasn't that enthusiastic anymore. The idea was very promising, so I had high expectations. And for me that was a problem because the story didn't quite match it. I'm sure that someone will love this story, but not me, unfortunately.
I'd love to mention that the characters were so good in this book, and I mean, they were so... unusual and nicely written. And I think that's the biggest strength of this book. I personally love when characters are interesting and that was surely the case.
The warning I'd like to give is that the beginning of the book may be a little boring, but once you get closer to the middle, it gets easier. The worldbuilding is also not simple and it's cool, but it may be difficult to follow.
Other than that, I was happy to be able to read an ARC of "Echoes of the Celestial", spending some time with it, even though it wasn't quite a fit for me. I'm sure many people will love it, especially those who are looking for something different from usual fantasy with a romance subplot!

this is a ten-star read, nothing more nothing less.
I was looking forward to reading this before I even received the arc and this has exceeded my expectations.
the book whisked me away into a zodiac based magical world filled with deep secrets, deadly high stakes, heart stopping plot twists, simmering yearning and much more.
I fell in love with the story and what happened within the pages, I was lured in by the mystery and yearned to turn another page at any second that I could.
the characters are amazing; they have latched their hands into my heart. the main female character being my favorite of all for reasons that I cannot say yet.
I was very immersed in this book and found myself sneaking in an extra chapter when I could. this swept me off my feet, I cannot wait for book two.
I am a huge fan of Echoes of Celestial and will of course highly recommend this to just about anyone.
thank you so much to the author for giving me the chance to read her incredible book, it is an absolute joy and honor to be given the privilege to read this.
