This series starts off slow - Alone is a little slower to grab you than I usually like. But once you're into it, Marissa Farrar takes you on a fantastic journey - mythical and intriguing but also gritty and real.
I wanted to give this 5 stars. Because as the series moved on it definitely deserved it, but as a whole series 4 and a bit stars is really where its at for me.
Serenity and Sebastian are both likeable and immensely flawed - annoying and heart warming. And Elizabeth steals the show! Wow!
These characters aren't just soul mates they are totally human (esp our gorg vampire) and that means they're loveable one minute and infuriating the next.
This is not your typical paranormal romance - its way beyond that. The romance between Sebastian and Serenity is full of passion but there's more and its not always the nice easy to take stuff. Marissa Farrar is a brave lady she toys with her readers. Some won't be brave enough to go the distance, but I'm so glad I did. Book four here I come...
