Why is every single one of Grace's romances a mess? Grace Nereid wasn't sure why her love life was constantly being thwarted, wondering what she had done in her past to deserve so much turmoil. Sure, she had her secrets, but it wasn't a good enough reason why at every opportunity something in her love life went wrong. Tired of the lies and deception from her emotionally abusive husband, Grace needs to take her life back but not before escaping to the Jersey shore.
However, nothing prepared her for the storm that was about to hit her. Jim Wooley, the one that got way was back in Toselle Park and divorced. Was it gravity that pulled them to each other? As the storm of passion that raged under the surface for each other had been brewing for twenty-seven years and it was only a matter of time before it explodes around them. Weathering anything as long as they were together Grace and Jim had not expected that their past would collide with their present and dangerous waters lay dead ahead.
I will say for a debut this one is a great one and I did not expect almost 3 decades later to come back with this second chance romance!
This story centers around Grace our FMC who has two boys and is in a horrid marriage with Hank. She finally decided]s she is worth more and she had her boys deserve better and off to the shore she goes splitting from that loser!
In comes Jim with hot sexy MMC who broke her heart when she was younger and is not going through a divorce with a she devil and his two daughters.
The support system in this book for the character is amazing this book has a bit of it all banter, meddling side characters, the support system, finding ones self, light sprinkle of spice and an HEA!
Overall I’d give this book a solid 4⭐️ and a 2🌶️ and I will say I, looking forward to book 2 of this series!
If you LOVE romance…this is the story for you. Grace and Jim dated when they were younger, Jim broke her heart and wasn’t heard from or seen for years.
Grace married Hank, had 2 boys and lived a life of being emotionally abused by him. She finally gets things going for a divorce and many surprises are discovered along that path.
Jim is back in the picture and events take place that will leave your jaw dropped.
Lightening has nothing on the electricity between Jim and Grace!!!
You could say that Grace’s luck with love…Not the best. She was madly in love with Jim Wooley. But they were young and Jim made a dumb decision that little did Jim know would lead to pure chaos in the years to come!
Grace found herself married to Hank with two boys. Happily married, in love? I didn’t say that I just said married. Hank is constantly putting Grace down. Her boys see this and witness this. Her family isn’t too fond of Hank. Well - buckle up cause there’s a little twist with Hank (I don’t want to spoil it but it’s a twist)
Cue the house on the shore when Grace decides she needs to leave Hank and just be with her boys…. That leads to friends tagging along and yes Jim Wooley, and his two daughters. Jim is going through a divorce with whom I refer to as the devil woman. What will happen it’s been years and Grace and Jim are reunited and in different stages of their life? Will that spark be reignited?
There will definitely be drama that occurs at the shore house, possibly a broken nose… and after all that.
Again not saying much don’t want to give anything away but you think that Grace has her happily ever after and then BAM.
This is definitely a story of second chance love, redemption and standing up for yourself. This contemporary romance is sprinkled with light spice and some twist.
What a debut! Reading this book it is apparent the author put so much raw emotion behind the main characters; the agony, indignation, hope, tenacity, courage, love - all felt by the reader through the words of this story. “𝘉𝘶𝘵 𝘪𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘨𝘰𝘰𝘥𝘣𝘺𝘦, 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘴𝘩𝘦 𝘸𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘩𝘪𝘮 𝘳𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘮𝘣𝘦𝘳, 𝘳𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘮𝘣𝘦𝘳 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘩𝘦 𝘩𝘢𝘥 𝘤𝘩𝘰𝘴𝘦𝘯 𝘵𝘰 𝘨𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘶𝘱. 𝘚𝘩𝘦 𝘸𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘴𝘦𝘢𝘳 𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘧 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘬𝘪𝘴𝘴 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘳𝘦𝘤𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘦𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘥 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘵 𝘯𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘰 𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘨𝘦𝘵. 𝘓𝘦𝘵 𝘩𝘪𝘮 𝘭𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘢𝘪𝘯 𝘰𝘧 𝘭𝘰𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘨𝘰𝘰𝘥 𝘣𝘦𝘤𝘢𝘶𝘴𝘦 𝘴𝘩𝘦 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥𝘯'𝘵 𝘥𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘢𝘨𝘢𝘪𝘯.” Grace’s story is no simple tale; the ups & the downs, the uncertainty were all there. It was wonderful to see the support system that she had behind her the whole time. Each character brought something to the overall story. A second chance at a once in a lifetime love, so delighted this ended with a happily ever after. I can’t wait to see what else G. M. Parillo writes for us next!
Have you ever wanted to read a book that has depth, middle age and relatable MC’s, unforgettable romance, quick witted comebacks, plot driven, amazing supporting characters, and so so so much more….Well then you NEED to read “A Fall from Grace.”
I found myself giggling out of nowhere, wanting to high five 🙌 the supporting characters, yearning to be by the ocean, and wanting to slap a character or two.
The FMC is an amazing mom and secretly a force to be reckoned with, the MMC is hot, sexy, and an amazing father. The children in this book are absolutely adorable and a pain in the rear. Honestly, I fell in love with all with the entire cast of this book.
It’s a book that I devoured in a matter of hours and I fully understand what everyone else was raving about. The LOVE story within this book just leaves you in a state of passion, yearning, and faith that true love exists. A I can now say I am in the know and I no longer have FOMO.
I CANNOT wait for her second book “Bad Decisions” to come out.
A Fall for Grace hooked me from page one. Grace is a woman you can’t help but root for, she’s been stuck in a marriage to Hank, who’s a complete asshole, and finally decides she deserves better. That’s when the story really opens up, bringing her back into the orbit of Jim, the one that got away almost three decades ago.
What I loved about this book is how real it feels. G.M. Parrillo doesn’t sugarcoat anything, you get the raw emotions, the humor, the heartbreak, and the spark of second chances. Grace isn’t some perfect romance heroine; she’s human, tough, and ready to reclaim her life. And Jim? The kind of guy you want to see win her back.
This is indie romance at its best, authentic, heartfelt, and written with a lot of soul. If you’re tired of cookie-cutter stories, give this one a shot. You’ll be cheering for Grace and cursing Hank right along with me.
Wow, just, wow. This was a beautiful love story which undoubtedly has become one of my favorite contemporary reads, ever. A Fall for Grace is a beautifully written second-chance mature romance. I found myself crying, laughing, and kicking my feet with joy as I absolutely devoured this novel! The feeling in this book spoke to the mature woman in me, and I thought that the love story between them was realistic while also feeling like a fairy tale! G.M. Parrillo shall forever be one of my one-click authors, and I suggest you add her to your list as well!
I absolutely loved this! I love the prologue and how it captured my attention right away. This book had me kicking my feet and ready to throw my phone with how characters interacted through the story. I started the book hating one person and ended up actually rooting for them and COMPLETELY hating someone I had originally thought wasn't going to be much of an issue. I love that this was written for older adults! The spicey scenes had me grinning ear to ear!!! I love it and I can't recommend it enough!
What can I say about A Fall For Grace, WOW what a great story. It’s a realistic romance about to people that loved each other in their senior year of high school. They reconnect 20+ years later. This book had me laughing and crying all at the same time. I would strongly suggest you read it. Thank you for sending me this book for my honest review. I am so looking forward to reading more of your books in the future.
A Jersey Shore beach read with love, hate, deceit, mystery, and attempted murder. But is there a happily ever after? A Fall for Grace is a second chance contemporary, mild spice romance. Jim and Grace have loved each other forever. However dumb luck, bad choices, and life got in the way of their destiny. This is a story of what happens when fate is ultimately in charge of your destiny. Can Jim and Grace find each other and find happily ever after or will life in bad decisions keep them apart? G.M.Parrillo keeps you guessing until the final paragraph of the epilogue. 4 1/2 stars with a spice of 2.
I’ve never been much for the romance genre, but I was fully on board with everything that was happening to the characters. With a bit of spice, love and a smattering of mystery/intrigue you find yourself enthralled with every character of the book. A good start to the series.
As a middle-aged woman, I’m always on the hunt for middle-age FMCs. G.M. Parrillo delivered! I would consider this a fantastic summer read. Based on the Jersey shore, it’s a rekindling of a lost love. She does a great job of creating a vibe amongst the group of friends. It’s relatable and fun!
Loved this sweet book. FMC AND MMC go through some crazy crap. Love that they were high school sweethearts that end up back in their old town again and things easily rekindle between them. I love how it all plays out, there’s some fun plot twist, and overall nice read.
This story was great because it feels real ( to the author there may be some parts that are). It definitely had bits of the story that were relatable to real personal relationships.
Typically I am a fantasy or dark romance reader, but this book kept me wanting more. Even in some of the best books I find it hard to get all the way to the end because the excitement fizzles out. In A Fall for Grace it kept me engaged to the very last sentence.
I would recommend this book for those who like a more mild romance with some spice and excitement. Not a lot of profanity and the intimacy is definitely hot but minimal compared to the over use ( not for all readers) that some books can have. It gives a little bit of a slow burn with plenty of unexpected turns and some to leave you guessing moments.
I loved this book so much!!! Grace is so strong for her kids. This is a story that is believable, and you could feel the emotions from the characters. There are hard topics, but the author puts some humor in the book that had me giggling while reading.
This book was a whirlwind of emotions, this whole book took place in just the matter of one short week. Grace and Jim have a love story of true love, no matter everything that happened from when they broke up in high school till Jim came back into her life, they always loved each other. This second chance romance is one to remember.
When I tell you A Fall for Grace by G.M. Parrillo had me laughing out loud—I mean it! This book took me on a full-blown emotional rollercoaster. It had me cracking up, getting mad, and even wanting to throw my phone across the room. Some of the characters are absolutely lovable, while others are downright despicable—and that’s what made it so good. I especially loved how certain characters were always meddling in everyone else’s business, telling people what they should be doing. Let’s be honest—we all know someone like that in real life. And more often than not, they’re right… even if we don’t want to admit it. The story really makes you reflect on how the people closest to us often see what we need before we do, and how some life lessons have to happen the hard way for us to truly find our place. Parrillo nailed it with this one. If you’re looking for a book that’ll make you laugh, get in your feelings, and stay with you long after you finish—A Fall for Grace is it. Highly recommend!
A Fall for Grace is an emotional second-chance romance that blends heartache, healing, and undeniable chemistry. Grace is at a breaking point in her life, carrying wounds from a past filled with lies and emotional abuse, when an unexpected reunion changes everything. Set against the Jersey shore, this story explores what happens when first love resurfaces years later — when timing was wrong before, but feelings never truly faded.
With richly written characters, simmering passion, and an undercurrent of emotional depth, this story pulls you in and makes you feel. By the end, I found myself tearing up and already reaching for more from this author.
This was a really emotional read. Grace’s life is messy in a way that feels very real, especially the parts about control, regret, and trying to start over after being worn down for years.
I liked the second-chance romance and how the past doesn’t stay neatly in the past. The history between Grace and Jim feels heavy in a good way, like something that was never actually finished. The Jersey shore setting works really well with the mood of the story too.
It’s not a perfect, shiny love story. It’s about damage, timing, and choosing yourself even when things are complicated. I enjoyed it and stayed invested in Grace the whole way through.
I love when a second-chance romance has the characters fall apart, grow apart, then grow together. The feelings between Jim and Grace are palpable. I don't do spoilers but the heat for this book is *chef's kiss*. Definitely excited to read the next book in this series.
I want to start this by saying. I do not typically annotate my books, and this book had me annotating like crazy. G.M. pulled me into Grace's and Jim's story from the very first page. Gives you a reason to love almost all the characters. If you love modern day contemporary spicy romance, this book is for you!
A fantastic romance that keeps you flipping pages. As a self described anti romance author, I was utterly in love with the plot and progression of this book!
