For fifteen years, Darla has been stranded, alone, on a deserted island. But when three strange men crash-land there, she watches from the trees, terrified they’ll be just as cruel as the last men who came.

But these men are different. They laugh, they share, they’re kind to the wildlife. And despite every instinct telling her to stay hidden, Darla finds herself drawn to them. She begins helping in secret, leaving food and small gifts, until the line between fear and curiosity begins to blur.

When she must choose between staying hidden or saving their lives, the answer is clear. And soon, they awaken something inside her she thought had died long ago… hope.

But Darla knows all too well, paradise can turn deadly in an instant.
She’s survived alone this long… but can she survive letting them in?

STRANDED, is the first part of a duet and ends in a cliffhanger. It's a hurt/comfort, why choose, MFMM+, romance novel with dark themes. No mm/ff/cheating/owd. The FMC will not have to choose between her love interests. For a full list of trigger warnings please see author's website

Could not look past

Dnf. There are things I can't seem to honestly get past. Our girl has been stranded 15 years, and is 28 currently. So she was 13 the last time she's been around the morden world. Yet she's just dropping pop culture names? The xena warrior princess I get. It's something her dad called her. Get that. But when two of the guys show up, she refers to them as sam and dean? Not to mention how as the guys are getting out the raft and onto the island. She's saying how one looks like a Abercrombie model, and the other is wearing a Henley shirt? Granted, at 13, she could have known of designer brands. But I doubt someone stranded for 15 years on a deserted island would actually stop and think or say something so completely crazy. I just couldn't get past how ridiculous it all was.

Oh
My
Lanta
!!

That dang plot twist at the end! I was BLINDSIDED!

I need answers and I need it to be August so I can read the next book!

I literally adored allll the guys and the bonus characters! (Mo-Mo, Steve, Kevin & Bob) 🫶🏼✨

Everything about this book was so refreshing! The plot was captivating. I do not feel like I’ve read anything like it! Having a FMC that crosses the line between civilized and savage was so fun.

Darla ‘Zee’ is strong and so independent. She became who she needed to be to survive on the island, but it definitely ate away at her over the years. Her friendship with Mo-Mo and the other lemurs was freaking the sweetest.

The guys were great. I love a protective MMC, and this book gave us 3+! 🤭 The dynamics between the guys were also really well done. Every single one of the guys is caring and determined to get to know the savage beauty that has captivated them.

I really can’t stress to yall enough how much the plot twist in this book left feral for the next book. I’ll just be counting down the days until its release!

If you are a why choose lover, DIVE into this book ASAP!

My sweet Darla I want to give her the biggest hug ever 😭♥️. She deserves the world 😭. The hurt/comfort is written so well ❤️‍🩹 it healed something in me.

The ending though that was a little bit messy and as per the poor reviews on the 2nd book I don't have any hope 😭💔.

3.25 stars. An imaginative, at times heartwarming, well-paced, WC romance set on a desert island. While at times predictable, there’s enough mystery and intrigue, and creativity in the ‘world-building’, to keep the plot ticking along.
The FMC is resilient, the MMCs are very likeable (and well differentiated), there’s some spice and it all culminates in a decent cliffhanger. I enjoyed this more than I’d expected!
But… there were so many errors that should have been easily identified by a decent proofreader, from incorrect word choice (e.g. ‘weary’ instead of ‘wary’ and ‘queues’ instead of ‘cues’) to missing words, missing letters, and grammatical mistakes.
While the story was well-written, the errors made it seem like a near-final draft.
Fingers crossed for better proofreading of the sequel, as I’m looking forward to reading it.

Note: there’s references to past trauma and SA of a minor, so check out the content warnings.

This was actually really good. The men were really sweet and obsessed from the start. I like how they took their time growing their relationship with Zee knowing how scared she is.

I will say her trauma and easy acceptance of the guys emotionally and physically was a little unrealistic. She also was more mature than you would think a stunted emotional and social girl would be. The whole time I couldn't stop thinking about yeast infections and UTIs but I guess that doesn't happen in fiction. I should've waited until the next book was out to start.

Desert Island why choose FMMMM
2.5 stars rounded up
-female w past trauma seems and acts younger than she is due to being stranded at 13 for 15 yrs
-MMC relatively distinct personalities
-second chance romance/friends to lovers
-lots of slapstick /repetitive humor (her talking to inanimate objects etc)
-mild OW drama in second book
-no cheating
-plot twists visible from space
-Men are overly domineering with this very capable FMC who has survived taking care of herself on deserted island for 15 years. (Don’t climb that tree, don’t touch that etc) They can’t even cook a meal in a kitchen.
-would’ve been better as a standalone than duet IMO (they leave island and it slows down quite a bit)

TW: death, murder, rape of FMC w flashbacks, miscarriage/stillbirth, human trafficking, murder/ loss of a parent, plane crashes, assault

I’m always a fan of Knight’s work. Ever since arc reading her very first release I knew she was going to give us fantastic books. Stranded blew me out of the water, once I picked it up I couldn’t put it down.

Zee is such a strong FMC! She has been stranded for 15 years and has overcome so much. Each of our MMC’s all bring something different to the harem as well. Add in the perfect amount of spicy scenes and some angst and top it off with that cliffhanger and you have a hit.

Would I have preferred a plot like this to have a little more angst? Yes. But did I still have a great time reading it? Also, yes.
This isn't my first read from the author, and I always love the worlds created and the creativity behind it all. They are more fluffy reads, but they really do make for an easy and enjoyable read.
I do think the MMCs can fall a little too hard, too quickly and come across as way too emotionally aware of the FMC when they don't initially know her or how she has lived. I think I would like a little more guesswork and character development, in which the MMCs have to learn and grow. They just seem like immaculate, perfect characters...and I would a little more of watching them grow and evolve.
Some RH can get a bit repetitive, but this felt very different! Loved it from start to finish, and the cliff hanger ending was...EEKK. Will defintely be picking up the next one when it releases.

What a great story!! Stranded is the first book in the Desert Island Duet. Darla (aka Zee) is such a strong, resilient FMC. After surviving 15 years on a deserted island, her vulnerability, compassion, and strength shine through in every moment. She’s fierce in the most admirable way.

Wes, King, and Bower completely won me over. The way they love, respect, and protect Zee is absolute perfection. Their dynamic with her and with each other was so wholesome and heartfelt. I loved watching her slowly let them in. You can feel how much they genuinely care for her, and it made their connection feel authentic. The twist at the end with Reece!!! Did not expect that! But I had some theories about his dad!!

I cannot wait for the second book and the conclusion to this beautiful love story. Highly recommend if you love fierce heroines, protective MMCs, found family, and survival romance with heart.

So....I enjoyed this book, but I rolled my eyes A LOT. The writing needs work, the constant name usage and nicknames was very annoying. The entire story line a little ridiculous, kind of like how soap operas are, but still draw you in with the possibilities haha.
I would have dived right into to book two if it was available despite all of the issues I had with this book, just to see what happens. I liked the plot twist through in at the end, though I find it really ridiculous that the reason Reece hates women is because he lost someone when he was a pre teen. Like, come on...

4.75⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ it was a fresh read compared to other reverse harems, it was a roller costers of emotions and all character have different personalities (evviva). I love how the protagonist is 28 and not a freshly squeezed out of the womb girl.

Perfect for a light but emotional reading, like don’t expect any big words or metaphors the writing was simple.

Can’t wait for the next one… the cliffhanger was unexpected

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ OBSESSED.

I devoured Stranded in under 24 hours and immediately wanted to reread it. Shona Knight absolutely nailed the emotional intensity, mystery, and slow-burn buildup. The FMC is one of my favorites ever—funny, resilient, and layered with so much depth. Her trauma responses are so real and raw, and the way she processes everything through her inner monologue? It’s powerful. It actually helped me work through emotions I didn’t realize I’d buried. I felt seen.

A fav quote “Was it crazy to have a one-sided conversation with a rock? Not at all. Crazy was talking to yourself because you were slowly going mad, and that. Wasn’t. Me.”
^^ Zee is HILARIOUS. So it Bower 😆 He had my blushing.

Everything felt real. Like, I legit forgot it was fiction. The pacing? Chef's kiss. The mystery of what she was hiding kept me turning pages like a maniac. And the twist at the end? I freaked out in a sad happy way. I was absolutely shooketh to the core. Such a good twist. So unexpected.

The character development was fantastic across the board, and the spice? DELICIOUS and not repetitive (praise be). If I could give it more than 5 stars, I would. I need book two like yesterday.

Okay

I liked the start of the book, it was entertaining. MoMo was awwww.

As we got to know the characters the charm started wearing off. The smut was samey and yawn inducing, it got boring real quick. I didn't get the big deal about Zee not wanting to tell them anything. Then saying it was a long time ago anyway??? I just really wanted to know if they got off the island.

I will probably read book 2, feel the need to know how this ends.

Could use a tiny bit of editing, but a great story!

This book drew me in from the first page. I loved Zee and her quirky "relationships" with Steve, Kevin, McStabby, Cliff, and Bob. I mean, after being stranded for 15 years, a girl has to make do how she can, right?

The whole story is great. Zee is so strong and a true survivor in every sense of the word. She's got such a big heart. The guys who join her on the island are great as well.

The ending threw me for a bit of a loop. I had predicted a good chunk of it, but "Mo-Mo" was not a part of that chunk!

I'm about to dive into book two now!

This was a good read!! I finished this in less than a day. From the characters to the plot to THE TWIST, I was all in on this book. There is also this underlying sense of mystery and suspense too.

I really liked the reverse Tarzan storyline with Darla (Zee) living on her own. She was strong and funny and smart and survived something horrible. Her resilience and inner dialogue was everything. I really felt for her and found her to be really relatable. She is also a little quirky and I really LOVED her “friends” on the island.

The MMCs were so good too! No spoilers on exactly WHO ends up on the island but I really liked the golden retriever vibes…and one of them is definitely more suites for island life!

I really enjoyed this book. The plot was super unique and that kept me intrigued so I could hardly put the book down. Also who doesn’t love a good why choose book? This girl has been isolated on a dessert island since she was 13, how in the hell does she know all these modern day pop culture references and turns of phrase? It doesn't make sense. It was one of the most glaring plot holes in this book and I just couldn't overlook it in the end. Which is a real shame, as I feel this story has great potential. But when your entire premise is someone that has not seen another human being in nearly 15 years you can't have them, living on their island, all fully functioning and dropping witty modern bombs like it's cat nip for the masses and expect your readers to be fully on board with it.........it just doesn't work sadly.

With a bit of a rework this book has real promise, it's just a bit disappointing that it's not quite there yet.

when this book came through, i dropped everything i was reading and had to start this. 𝑺𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒆𝒅 was one of my most anticipated reads for the summer and it did not disappoint.

i never knew i would need a reverse Tarzan vibes book until this one. Darla/Zee has a strength and resilience with some innocence from surviving in the jungle alone for the last 15 years. but then you have the men who are now stranded with her. Weston/West who is ex-military and wants to take care of her and everyone and take the burden off Zee. Bower, the golden retriever who is obsessed with Zee the minute he sees her. And Kingsley/King, the kind soul with a big heart ready to take on anything for them all, even if it destroys his shoes.

this book has you laughing with Zee’s not so internal monologue while she talks with her pet rock, Steve and bff lemur, Mo-Mo. but this book isn’t all laughs when you also learn all Zee had to go through to survive. and while there is a bit of romance, you also have the questions they’re all trying to figure out of: 1. what happened on board the guys’ plane 2. where is the search team that is supposed to be looking for them 3. and what happens when they do get found.

this is such a perfect read for summer if you’re looking for something that has adventure. but there is a big cliffhanger since this is the first book in the duet. i can’t wait to see how everything works out for Zee and the guys.

𝑺𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒆𝒅 releases June 28th and is available for pre-order now!

thank you Shona Knight for an e-ARC of 𝑺𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒆𝒅

Reverse Tarzan vibes!

This was such a great start to the duet. Book 1 has mystery, romance and comedy. While our FMC Darla, has found herself stranded and alone for 15 years. One day she finds herself not so alone… These guys are amazing.

I found Darla to be so sweet, funny and brave. She endured some messed up situations but honestly she came out on top. She’s got such a strong heart and is willing to help the guys even though she’s weary of them. Mo Mo was so great, and dont forget about Steve.

The guys were supportive, understanding and honestly great to show their love for her. Even though they found themselves in a bad situation I can’t wait to see where it leads them for book 2. The epilogue was also so amazing.

Book Name/Series: Stranded (Desert Island Duet #1)
Author: Shona Knight
Standalone?: No. This is the first book in a duet and ends on a cliffhanger.

4 Stars

My Opinion: This MFMMM romance really pulled me in, and I loved the relationship dynamics in this book. The heroes were completely gone for the heroine, and I appreciated that there wasn’t any unnecessary drama about them sharing her. With the mystery and the external tension, the lack of internal drama felt like the right choice. I also thought the storyline was interesting and I especially adored the addition of Mo-Mo the lemur and Steve the rock. They added a quirky touch to the story that I really enjoyed.

I did feel like Darla seemed a little too well-versed in pop culture and sex despite having been stranded on the island since she was 13 years old, and alone for almost all of it. It didn’t ruin the story, but it was a little odd.

Hero 1: 5/5. Kingsley (29) is part owner of Titan Tech with Bower and Reece. He was really sweet and attentive to Darla, and he was of course also very protective of her.
Hero 2: 5/5. Bower (29) is part owner of Titan Tech with Kingsley and Reece. He was a funny and light-hearted guy, and he was just as sweet and protective as Kingsley.
Hero 3: 5/5. Weston (38) is former marine and current pilot. His plane is sabotaged which leads to them crashing and ending up on the same island as Darla. He was incredibly protective of Darla which I loved, but he was also very supportive of her.
Hero 4: ?/5. Reece (28) is part owner of Titan Tech with Kingsley and Bower. We don’t really get to know him in this book other than from when the other heroes talk about him since he wasn’t on the plane that crashed. They describe him as grumpy and closed off and that he’s been that way since he lost his childhood sweetheart:
Heroine: 5/5. Darla/Zee (28) had been stranded on an island for 15 years, 14 of those being on her own. She had made friends with some of the lemurs on the island as well as a rock called Steve. I really liked her. She was so resilient and incredibly strong considering everything she had been through. She did struggle with some PTSD-like symptoms from things that had happened in the past, but that those struggles just made her more relatable.

POV: 1st person POV (Darla, Kingsley, Bower, Weston and Reece).

Push/Pull:

Sadness: 1/5.

Explicit Sex and Spice Level: Yes. 2/5.

OW (Other Woman)/OM (Other Man) Drama: No.

Separation:

Cheating: No.

Closure/Ending: This book ends on a cliffhanger.

Review!!

This book truly took me by surprise! I read it right after Hunting Adeline, and thank goodness for that. It was a nice change of pace and a much shorter read. When I first started, I thought it might be geared more toward a young adult or teen audience. But as the story went on, that impression quickly changed. The later parts include actual smut and darker themes that added unexpected depth and intensity.

I really enjoyed this story! It was fun, interesting, and I loved the island setting. The animals and environment were such a refreshing touch and made the world feel alive.

Constructive feedback:

I noticed that the content warning list included topics that seem to occur more in the second book, which could be considered mild spoilers. It does note “spoilers” beforehand, so I waited until finishing the first book to read it, but some items still didn’t appear in book one. Maybe those could be moved to the second book’s warning list to avoid confusion or accidental spoilers. Not a huge deal, but it did throw me off for a moment.

I also found that the beginning of the book felt a bit more “young adult” in tone, mainly due to the main character’s mindset and vocabulary. I do understand why that might make sense, considering her isolation and lack of exposure to others, but it did make the early chapters feel slightly more juvenile compared to the later, more mature scenes.

Overall though, this was a fun and captivating read! I loved it from start to finish and read it in just a couple days. I can’t wait to dive into the second book!
