I downloaded this book because the title and cover caught my attention. Wanting to support a fellow author, I started reading immediately and I'm sooooooooo glad I finished.
I read this book in five hours and NO it's not a short story lol it's a full length novel. I was a little skeptical of how the author formatted the book, placing enter at the end of every sentence. But it did not take away from the story. Once the book began to pick up and the mysteries starting flow in, I was hooked. The book was written like a diary from the main character Max and I really liked that.
One thing this book had were twists and turns and just when I took a breathe and said, okay that's it...here came another one.
I've read many books this year and I don't have many books that have me in awe but this one did it for me.
This is my number two book of the year! Awesome read!
It was like information overload.... In the beginning I just wanted to know about her and her husband and then jump a little into the past.
However it seemed like every thought she had lead to going on and on and on and on about a past situation.
It was like a simple thought or statement went to a long ass story and by the time it got to her and her husband I was like OKAY now I can finally read with these two actually interacting.
and when that happened... I really enjoyed the book, I get that we needed the background but we were hit with that asap.. I thought that I would see how these two interacted a little before being hit with a lot of her background stories etc.
Nevertheless cool read that left me a tad frustrated.

What I liked about the novel....
This author has brought to the readers a very interesting read that once you start reading you will have a hard time putting it down. WOW, Ms. Hardin you have done it again....written a absolutely wonderful story with so many twist and turns. You will be kept on the edge of your seat wondering what is coming next in this intermingled story. Be ready for a story of romance, love, sex, humor(some), secrets, lies and in the end....the mystery of it all, even some suspense and the several surprise twists that you may not see coming. This was definitely a shocker for me because nothing is as it seems as you are reading through this novel. Now, to fully understand what this author has written you must pick up this excellent read and so for yourself how well this will be brought out to the reader.
The two main characters Maxine and Shelton were simply off the chart good as with the secondary characters being so well developed, portrayed colorful defined and believable all helping to give the reader a good script.
What I also liked about this novel...
I liked how this author ended and summed up each chapter in this story.. here are a few ....that I thought were simply wonderful!
~Life will always be exactly what it's meant to be. Never be afraid to try something new. Never e afraid to try again~ Anonymous

My overall impression of this novel...
Thank you Ms. Hardin for a great story that will have the reader thinking on the read long after it's been put down.
What a unique book, from the title to the actual story and even the writing style. From the start we know Maxine’s sordid history but she wanted to make a change in her life and did that by walking into a church service one Sunday not knowing she would find the man she would marry preaching on the pulpit.
The story is told from her point of view and written in a way that was so different than anything I’d read before. When you’ve finished the book and look back its really a book with dark subject matter but the way it was written you didn’t feel like you were reading a heavy book and I laughed out loud many times throughout.
As there are huge twist and shocking revelations toward the end of the book I’m not going to get into the plot deeply but as a line from the book blurb says “Is he a Saint...or is he a Sinner” was very appropriate.
This book started off slow to me. I almost stopped reading it but I'm so glad I didn't. Wow!!! You just never know about a person's past. This goes to show that people can turn their life around despite what has happened in their past. I highly recommend this book. I refuse to give the plot though but to prove I read it. In the end is what blew me when it came to what John(Steven),Sheila,Dianna(Shelby),and Maxi had in common
The thing I love about B.M. Hardin's books is just when you think you got it all figured out there's another twist! I loved this book, I think its the best one I've read by her and all the others were good! Shelton and Maxine went through a lot but it was worth it! I can't wait for her next book!!
It had my attention from the beginning, Maxi was a trip she kept me laughing. Shelton didn't turn out like I thought but I knew he was grimy. But that wicked twist you put on the end!!!! That closed the deal for me. I couldn't put it down I read it in two days. (round of applause)
This started off a little slow , but it definitely picked up. Maxi's husband had been killed, she decided to move away and start her life over, after being when a lot of men in her life she finally found true love and man that loved her for her, she never thought she would be a Preachers wife let alone married to the man who had killed her first Husband.
This was a very fast pace read that was full of secrets and lies. The book held my attention from the very first page. Shelton's dark past will make you wonder about the person you are married to. This book also had suspense and drama. This is my second book by this author and I look forward to reading more by her.
What can I say Miss BM Hardin is a beast when it comes to the pen. This book had me going from page 1 lots of twists and turns very unpredictable. What more can I say without giving up the book. Don't want to take my word fine grab this book well worth the money. Great job as always
This book was absolutely great I enjoyed every unexpected twist and turn. This is my first time reading anything from this author and I am well pleased looking forward to exploring more from B. M. Hardin
I REALLY LIKED THE CHARACTERS MAXINE WAS THE TRUTH SHE TOLD IT LIKE IT WAS. I DIDN'T EXPECT ANYTHING THAT HAPPENED, HONESTLY I THOUGHT MAXINE WOULD FIND OUT HER HUSBAND WAS GAY OR HAVING A AFFAIR BUT HE HAD A WHOLE ANOTHER LIFE... GOOD READ
Your Pastor..My Husband was a great read. The more I read, the more interesting the story became. Maxi & Shelton truly deserved each other. I'm glad they decided to finally be truthful with one another. Enjoyable stand alone book that I highly recommend!
BM Hardin outdone herself on this one. I did not expect a book like this after reading Dirty Bonds, but it was a great read, and this is a recommendation to buy not rent. What makes it so good was the ending quotes that you can relate you. And the theme is something that all should remember.
This book was a great read a great story line and a page turner. So glad that the ending had such a twist and unexpected surprise to it. I also think that characters really portrayed to the story.
Really enjoyed reading this book as the pastor's wife takes dangerous journey to find out who her husband really is,while keeping some secrets of her own. Story line keeps readers entertained as the author takes you on a twisted ride to the truth.
This was an excellent book. Today you don't know what's in the pulpit. Today you must know Christ for yourself,if not you could get lost by man's hand.
I couldn't put it down. was exciting especially when it came to the end. connected well. I really enjoyed it. something to talk about if you have a book club
Bravo and a masterpiece of work! This was my first "mystery" and I fell in love with the whodunit! Great job Author and I look forward to reading your other titles!
Okay, I’ve read almost every single book by BM Hardin, and while I enjoy the suspenseful edge that her books bring, just about all her books have 1 commonality that just irritates the life out of me: her leading lady’s have to be the absolute dumbest females and I mean just walking desperate airheads that don’t have a clue. And it gets more frustrating by the book because we all have been dumb in love but they take it to an absolute ridiculous level that is borderline painful. Lastly, it’s not wise to use the same jokes across numerous books. If one more character is mad as a size 2 Jean on a size 22 ass I’m gonna lose it.
