I’m an introvert with a black hole for a brain. I live in the middle of the woods, work a stressful and unstable artist day job, and try to find my sanctuary in the different worlds I create at night.

I never really got past my angsty phase, so readers will find tons of angst in my stories, but rest assured, they will also land on a happy ending eventually, should they choose to jump on this ride with me. My stories are usually MM romance, mature, intense, and sometimes, very thematically dark. My writing genres range across fantasy, romance, sci-fi, and thriller.

A good story but POVs weren’t written well

I really liked the concept and got to 60% before the constant flipping of character POVs drove me crazy. From one paragraph to another it would be written from a different perspective and it got confusing. In some instances it wasn’t so bad but others would be one sentence before it flipped to someone else and then back after another sentence. If that won’t bug you, you should definitely read this book! I think with a solid editor this book could be really great, which is why I give it 3 stars even though I couldn’t finish it. Definitely not something I could overlook though

I thought this book was fine. I liked what the author was trying to do with the story, but it just never quite hit for me. The characters were fine. I liked Lucius, he was a pretty interesting character. There were some decisions he made though that didn't make any sense. Specifically one at the beginning of the book that I am still confused by. I don't want to spoil anything, but he essentially purposefully puts himself in harms way. And I still do not know why he did it. Just to get Dorian's attention? I didn't understand it when the scene happened and I still don't understand it.
I thought Dorian was fine. I honestly kind of wish he would've been more of a dick to make the book more interesting, but oh well.
The world made no sense to me. The vampire society is very medieval in structure, but they still have wifi and cell phones and paparazzi. Every time something modern would be mentioned it would take me out of the moment. It was just so odd. I also don't really understand the world at large. I don't understand what is meant to be mythological and what is supposed to exist in this world. At first I assume it is just humans and vampires. Then we learn werewolves exist, which made sense because of the whole vampire/werewolf thing that is popular in media. But then I was like 80% of the way into the books and a random hydra appeared and the characters were all like "what??? hydra are real???" and again, it just really took me out of it. It also pulled a lot from christian mythology. But it was weird, because "god" and "the devil" were real, but also not real? And christianity seem to operate the same way in this book as in real life, but some of the terminology is different. It felt like the world was just kind of cobbled together and included whatever either sounded cool or furthered the plot.
Speaking of plot. Also didn't really understand it. I understand the barebones of it. With the whole Vampire/human (and also kinda werewolf) war. As well as Dorian wanting to be king and that stuff. But everything else... nonsense. And I think this is mainly because the world is so confusing.
Anyway, this book was fine, I guess? If you can look past the nonsense worldbuilding, there is quite a bit of angst and misunderstandings which are fun.

what did I just read…

The title was misleading. The MMC was not really all that toxic. Low self esteem and stupid? Yes. Toxic? No really. Also, there wasn’t really anything dark about the story, other than the treatment of human slaves.

This was the most ridiculous story. So many contradictory things! Like the main thing, how Anthor would react to their precious Angel of God being sent to vampires in a huge negative way… then it “happens” and nothing is said from the public about it for an entire year! No upheaval of Church and State. No rioting in the streets. No backlash to the monarchy…

Then there was Julian and Dorian’s backstory. It made no sense. How long were they “together” to form such a deep love? How much time did Julian spend with the beaten up prisoner for feelings to grown between them both? What could they have possibly spoken about, considering Dorian lied about himself, including his name?

This story had so many holes and left so many questions. It made Lucian look like an idiot sometime (most times), not putting information together… like tentacles and snakes, Asmodian and a demon, etc. Then Lucius doing dumb things, like going out alone, immediately after him thinking about how unsafe the palace had become for him concerning Dorian’s favor or lack there of. There were many times Florian had information that was only given to Lucian, but never spoke of them discussing it. It was just a mess. Somehow, an entire troop of vampires was able to follow another group of vampires through the DESERT with no one noticing…

I will not be reading book 2. I honestly don’t even understand why there is one. Everything could have been resolved in book one of half of the unnecessary ridiculousness had been left out. See my notes, highlights and commentary on Goodreads. Happy reading!

I hate that it ends on a cliffhanger—I didn’t realize that it wasn’t a stand-alone book! 😭

Also, I really don’t feel any chemistry between the MC (Lucius) and the ML (Dorian). Maybe it’s just me, but I really didn’t like that the ML was so in love with the twin brother first—even going so far as to pretend Lucius was him while sleeping with him. How the hell is anyone supposed to recover from that? I sure as hell couldn’t, and I definitely wouldn’t forgive it.

I felt like the ML only treated Lucius kindly at the beginning because he was lying to himself—pretending Lucius was actually his twin. And that tiny bit of attention (which honestly wasn’t even that much) was enough for Lucius (aka Lucius Migajero) to fall for him. But mostly, let’s be real—it was just because Dorian was super hot and gorgeous.

That aside, this book is incredible. I love Lucius, and I want him to be powerful. I want him to have someone who truly loves him—someone who chooses him first. Someone who doesn’t hesitate for even a second, no matter who his brother is or how perfect is. Because, let’s be real:

1. Dorian loved Julian first. Yeah, maybe he eventually fell for Lucius, but only because at the beginning he “softened up” and gave Lucius a chance solely due to the fact that he looked exactly like his brother. And let’s not forget—he literally moaned Julian’s name while sleeping with Lucius. If that’s not proof, I don’t know what is.

2. The Elder only chooses Lucius because God chose his brother. So, once again, it’s always about his damn brother.

SO if there’s a second lead or another ship down the line, I will absolutely not be mad about it.

P.S: Julian is kind of a snake, isn’t he? His brother just “died,” and he didn’t even hesitate before trying to kiss his brother’s husband. LOL. Way to go, High Priest in direct contact with God. Demasiado, la verdad.

P.S.2: I LOVE THE WORLD the author created. Like so futuristic but at the same time not? LOVE IT. Mrs. or Mr. Author, you definitely have a career writing. You're so good! I'm so happy that I found this book.

Convoluted plot line and ends on a cliffy. It’s clearly from Wattpad and while I liked the idea and main characters enough it fell flat towards the end and really would’ve benefited from editing/formatting.

DNF at 15%.

Can someone tell me what year this takes place in? And…what world? Because I legit can’t tell. The gods and place names seemed mostly fictional. But then things like Persia and Wiki and whatnot were mentioned, so I don’t even know. Also calling adults “grown-ups” was a weird ick for me.

Technically speaking, this book lacked in…everything. The prose was childish at best. If not for the sex slaves and other NSFW spicy things, I could see it as being YA. It sorta read like a first draft. All dialogue, no worldbuilding, nothing. Just 2D characters with tons of time skips. I don’t even know how much time has gone by 61 pages in.

This book had potential. Unfortunately it did not come close to reaching that potential.

It’s imposible not to feel a strong sense of sympathy with the main character, Lucius, from the very first chapter. His struggles quickly become the reader’s and each little heartbreak helps you understand his evolution better. Though centered mostly on the main couple, the plot relies on the careful construction of a world of wonders, races, war, and intrigue, making it the perfect background to what ultimately is a story of love, acceptance and redemption.
I’ve followed the author since their beginning publishing in Wattpad and became more than happy not only to see their evolution, but to finally see this book officially published. Reading the story a second time, after the careful editing and hard work of AnUncannyRabbit, has left me wanting more! Totally recommended!

Dnf’d. The characters lack depth or any real emotional growth. The story is very bland.

This book is one I found purely through dumb luck in my Kindle recommendations. Reading the description, I started it with anticipation and it did not disappoint.

The novel centers around Lucius, a protagonist who is always second fiddle to his favored brother and thus feels like he can never be truly loved by someone. Being sold off to the vampire kingdom only cements that belief.

I could go on, but that would inevitably leave spoilers and The Vampire Prince's Toxic Consort is too good to be spoiled ;)

A bit of a slow burn? Yep. A protagonist who falls in love first? Definitely. A lot of angsty feels for Lucius? You better believe it!

Now to be fair as any good review should be, I cannot claim the novel is flawless. While the entire novel is third person POV based on Lucius, there are times where suddenly from one paragraph to the next, it adds a random snippet of Dorian's thoughts with no clear differentiation which can make the reader pause for a moment in confusion.

That being said, it's definitely worth a read! And, as a bonus, did I mention it's also on Kindle Unlimited?

Loved the whole series.
Reviewing this as a whole series.

The characters and their development are fantastic, the plot actually progresses beautifully, and the slow-burn romance and spice hit all the right notes. There’s genuinely never a dull moment.

Here is exactly why this series worked so well for me:
What it thankfully DOESN'T do:
- Overuse pet names to the point of being cringe.
- Rely on repetitive writing.
- Drag on with long-winded internal monologues—you are totally spared from endless pages of exhausting self-pity and self-doubt.
- Throw in meaningless spice scenes just to tick a box.

What it DOES do perfectly:
- Nails the "show, don't tell" rule.
- Well timed and well placed spice scenes.
- Uses third-person, multiple POVs. I personally love this format because you get to take in the bigger picture as an observer. First-person writing can sometimes be emotionally exhausting to read, so this was a massive breath of fresh air.

What even was the point of view???

This story was very... interesting?

Modern vampire story? Okay sure.
Modern with medieval feels at times? Nah.
Switching point of views? Sure those can be fun.
Switching POV multiple times in one chapter and even in a paragraph? No no nooooo.

I honestly feel like the gore was REALLY well written. It made my stomach squim at points.

The romance on the other had? It was okay. The terms used for the smexy scenes were insane! Also, also the cliff hanger? Totally unneeded. They could have cut the story off at the reunion and make the last bit the beginning of book 2. I have very little desire to continue onto book 2 because of the cliff hanger.

So, 3 stars. I think I will read book 2. Only because it's also on Kindle unlimited.

I feel this book has potential and I know independent authors don’t have the luxury to have an editor but in this instance I feel like it could help a lot cuz the way it was written and the change of POV in third person were confusing

Lucius is sassy and I like that about him, and also a rebellious soul, shameless and unapologetic about who he is as a person and that’s good for him.

Anyway I hope this autor can get an editor or read our feedback to make everything clearer

I liked the story overall and the plot points but some stuff were just going high and then falling flat. Cliffhanger with a sassy end I guess. So let’s see what the author is going to do

I don’t even have the right words for how much I loved this book. It made me feel everything—like I was right there with the characters. I laughed when they laughed, cried when they cried, and held my breath during every fight and twist. I just couldn’t stop reading until I reached the end.

It’s rare to find a book that pulls you in so deeply, but this one did it effortlessly. I’ve never connected with a story like this before. Truly, the best book I’ve ever read.

Thank you to my lovely author for writing something so beautiful.

I don't have enough words to explain how much I loved reading it. The most beautiful, yet such a painful journey. I'm a sucker for angst—it hit me right in the feels. I loved everything about this book. Dorian and Lu stay in my head rent-free all day.

Perfect is what it is. I don't think I've ever gotten this attached to characters—it's lowkey scary.

I wish more people knew about this book so I could talk about this masterpiece with them! I wish there were more fan arts and all of it, because this absolutely deserves it. I can't express enough how beautiful their love is.

I've finish this book one year ago when it was still a web novel. The plot twist is twisting, the character is awesome and the storyline is very unexpected. It will leave you seriously heartbroken bro. My favorite part is that each character in this novel is very human, each of them has their own selfishness, love, and motivation. This will leave you stuck since you cant blame anyone for the bad things that happen. And if you are currently reading this book, you need to trust the process and everything will be great after..(i hope). :) #Jawdroppingread

I liked the world building and characters.

I did think the ending could have used some help. I felt like there was a misunderstanding in there at the end, which was annoying.

Some of the terminology was strange. Like, “ he shot his load” 😂

And I didn’t feel a huge connection with the MMC’s.

I realllly didn’t like how Author was say something bad was happening next, before we read it.

Like saying, “little did he know that would all change in 2 hours,

Then we read about it. Do we need to know something awful is coming. Can’t we just read about it.

Good plot, terrible writing

The plot of this book was excellent, very compelling, smart, emotional. The writing. Oh, the writing. If the author's native language is English, I will be shocked. It needs HEAVY editing. So many words were used incorrectly. It was heavily overwritten in every single way it could be. The grammar and punctuation choices were baffling wrong. The author would do well to read the manuscript out loud and hear how very unnatural the language is. I finished because I loved the story and because I was giving the author the benefit of the doubt. If I find out they are a native speaker, I will be so beyond confused by the choices in this book.

Well written. Entertaining in that the story was unique, captivating, and had lots of emotional excitement. The characters developed and we got to see behind the facades. The author created another world full of unique characters and was full of exciting action. I loved this book and was impressed at how easy it was to read. It was captivating. Not another BL, it was more, it was a universe all of its own.

I fun and wild ride. I was honestly surprised, joyful, and frustrated by the characters choices. Im desperate for more!

Our main character have so much strife and motivation driving them. They dont expect what feelings arise and are troubled by how their actions may affect their people and each other. The morals quandaries are very fun.

I found the choice of seamlessly changing povs refreshing and kept me immersed. I really enjoyed the narration style.

I was unable to put this book down. I initially read them through Wattpad, and I enjoyed how conflicted and much a troublemaker the main character is. Personally, the overall story line was good at never having a dull moment, there was always something happening. I would've loved for the main character to be more upfront, challenging, and confident in himself. I quite enjoy the relationship development and intricacies of their romance. By now, I have read these twice; kudos to the writer :)

😭 That Cliffy

I was at the edge of my seat the whole time even with the little mistakes here and there it wasn't enough to fully bring me out of this amazing story! A good editor could really turn this into a diamond! I'm literally trying not to scream at how badly I want the next instalment. 💕

While I think the story-telling here is a good start and the dialogue is decent, there is some fairly substantial grammatical and verbiage misusage going on throughout. Otherwise, I might have been willing to rate this 3 stars. This author would have been better served finding a few alpha/beta readers before releasing it. I do hope they work on doing that and wish them luck in the future.

DNF @ 17%.

I really wants to love this. I do love forced/arranged marriage tropes.

But, this isn’t really make sense, plot wise or sentences at times. And where is the reluctance? Lucius’ personality seems to have done a 180 since the marriage and he is like “my husband is hot” versus the whole “fuck this, I don’t wanna be here” vibes I was hoping for.

Lovely cover, though.

Great first book!

AnUncanny Rabbit wrote. A compelling and griping story of a complicated and difficult relationship blossoming into love. But beware this is not a HEA, it’s a TBC. Normally my choice, but it is worth it to stick it out. Looking forward to the next book.
