About the Book:

Help Bible history come alive for children as well as new believers so they know these true events that changed the world forever. We live in a visually oriented society where people learn from a blend of both text and images. This collection of events and teachings from Scripture explores selected chapters verses, and provides additional highlights into:

More than 200 Biblical accounts, psalms, proverbs, prophecies, laws, and letters

The daily life of people living in the Old and New Testament times, as well as plants, animals, and Bible landscapes

Who's who in the Bible, maps and diagrams, a Bible quiz, and more!

With the help of maps, photographs, and diagrams, the ancient cultures of the Bible are set in a context that can be readily understood. In addition, specially written teaching helps to educate today's young reader in understanding the Bible's meaning and its relevance for everyday life.

My Review:

Reading from the Bible should be top priority in our homes. But sometimes, those little ones are itching for pictures to go along with the stories they hear. I think they do this because its hard for them to imagine these stories with their tiny imaginations. New Leaf Press has republished an interesting book for our little's and even we as the parents to enjoy&drive that perfect story home for them. The book is entitled, Illustrated Family Bible Stories, it is filled with over 200 beautifully illustrated events from the Old&New Testaments.

Filled to the brim with pictures and the stories that we all have enjoyed for years, these stories really open up another world to us. Not only do you get the story written to where even a child could understand, you also get other interesting facts related to the story as well. You will get the scripture reference and their is a Bible reference section in the back of the book that lists a more thorough understanding of items mentioned in the book. The book is listed at the price of, $24.99 and is available in hard cover. You can take a look at this link.

My family really enjoyed the book and I really enjoyed the interaction it creates. They get to learn more into the background of the story, than they would of originally. As a homeschool mom, I hold on to all books such as these because I can use it in my teaching for my children. This book is a great educational tool in so many ways!

This colorful little book nicely summarizes both testament's major stories. It's detailed enough for older kids, but it's really not for the young. The language is appropriate for fluent readers since the font is small, the sentences are long, and the ideas are more complex. I love the sidebars with pictures of relevant people, places, and historical objects. They really help put the information in context. Coverage of most major stories and ideas is good, but I'm disappointed that Corinthians; isn't "Love is patient, love is kind..." important enough? I mean, God IS love. I noticed a missing picture where there's a caption, but that's an anomaly, so no big deal. I think I got this on sale for five bucks at TJ Maxx, and went through it quickly, but enjoyed it a lot and will keep it.

I came across this book in a discount store. I flipped through it and realized I had found a gem. The stories are very well retold. This is a great introduction for ages 4-7 to the stories in the Bible.

Jun-Jul 2021. Rereading the NT with his younger sister (also age 8).

Dec 2018 - Sep 2019. Reading NT with one of my sons each night. Great way to learn to read! Now that we're finished, I realize it was a bit too advanced for him (age 8). But he's a hard worker and rose to the occasion.

I like the illustrations and the historical facts included, which I have not found in other children's Bibles
