It’s Rainbow Days. The usual problems persist: this series has some real warped ideas about relationships and Mari remains a pain and its ideas about bondage are just awful (the way whip guy treats the girl who’s interested in him as an apparent test are so bad).
But when it’s good? Oh, dammit, it’s so freaking good. And that’s the problem - it has as much to recommend it as it does to warn you away from it (I know I say that on the regular here, but it remains true).
Even if the fact that Natsuki kissed Anna at Christmas gets waved away in the dumbest way possible, that doesn’t make it easy for Anna to forget. And we know that Anna can be incredibly slow about these things, so you would assume status quo is about to assert itself.
But the slow, dawning realization that Anna has is really well done and it’s one of my favourite moments in the whole series. It might seem a little obvious, but this entire time we’ve been shown that it’s absolutely not obvious to her, so the groundwork was cleverly laid to sell this well.
And the stuff where the guys just goof off like boneheaded friends is (still) really well done. They interact like such perfect examples of male friends that it really brings the story to life when it ignores most of its relationship stuff and goes for full silly instead.
There’s a full chapter here involving a haircut that goes so madcap it feels like something straight out of the Archie comics of yore. It just keeps escalating and escalating to such extreme nonsense that you expect Jughead to run by with Mr. Weatherbee in hot pursuit. It’s worth reading the whole thing just for this section.
But then you have to handle the usual issues I have with it. If you don’t mind these things, this is positively perfect as far as this series goes. As always, I find it positively imperfect for those same reasons.
3 stars - in a way this series might be the most perfect encapsulation of high school. At times it is mature and articulate and knows how to make a good point and then a lot of the time it’s dumb and doesn’t know a damn thing about anything.

Diciamo che da un certo punto di vista non mi piacciono le serie che hanno episodi autoconclusivi, ma Rainbow days è l'eccezione alla regola: nonostante ci siano tantissimi capitoli appunto autoconclusivi (ok, ammettiamolo: metà della serie è composta da capitoli autoconclusivi) mi diverte e mi appassiona, adoro tutti i suoi protagonisti tanto da non saper decidere chi è il mio preferito. Poi certo, la storia principale prosegue, neanche troppo lentamente e anzi, Anna inizia a capire davvero quello che prova verso il timido Nacchan e speriamo che i due possano (finalmente!) mettersi insieme!

J'aime vraiment trop ce manga c'est indéniable ! Ce tome était un peu plus centré sur les personnages féminins (surtout Anna et Nozomi) ça change un peu du reste.
C'était cool de voir la prise de conscience d'Anna par rapport à ce qu'elle ressentait, à voir comment ça va évoluer par la suite.
Par contre j'avoue que j'ai pas trop compris le comportement de Keiichi, mais bon avec ce personnage il faut s'attendre à tout mdr

Mostly par for the course, but we get a peek inside Anna's head and get some growth, which is a nice change. Getting a chapter of nothing but haircut hijinks is also a plus - it lays off the relationship stuff and gives us more of what the book is supposedly about and those fun days of youth.

Two good news in this volume, Nozomi is getting closer to Keiichi even though he doesn't admit it. More over, Anna is finally clear about her love to Natsuke at least to her own self.

Après la fin du tome six, je pensais que le couple Anna et Natsuki allait un peu avancer, mais ça n'est malheureusement pas le cas. Il faut aussi dire que la situation était assez spéciale et j'ai comme l'impression que la mangaka va attendre le tout dernier tome pour que nos deux héros finissent par enfin être ensemble.
Il y a cependant une avancée. Ouf ! Anna, après ce baiser inattendu, se penche sur la situation et surtout sur ses sentiments. Ce n'est pas évident pour l'adolescente, car comme on a pu le voir depuis le début, Anna semble quelque peu déconnectée. Mais j'ai aimé la voir réfléchir et analyser ces nouvelles sensations qu'elle ressent. Elle est perdue et malheureuse jusqu'à ce qu'elle mette le doigt sur ce qu'il se passe vraiment. le tout est très bien mis en scène, et il est facile de comprendre Anna. La seule petite chose que je regrette, mais à laquelle je m'attendais, c'est qu'elle garde cela pour elle… A ce train-là, on ne va pas y arriver !
Pour nous changer un peu les idées, Minami Mizuno décide de nous embarquer dans des histoires plus tournées vers l'amitié. On retrouve différentes bandes qui finissent toujours par se retrouver avec nos quatre héros. J'aime aussi beaucoup voir ces scènes de la vie de tous les jours, ces moments d'amitié qui sont toujours très bien mis en valeur. Cela réchauffe le coeur et c'est vraiment ce que je recherche avec Rainbow Days.
La fin nous replonge dans la romance avec la Saint Valentin. Keiichi revient un peu au devant de la scène, notamment avec la soeur de Matsu… Je ne suis pas tellement fan de la tournure des événements, je dois avouer. Si le côté sadique de Keiichi ne me dérange pas, le voir se comporter avec Nozomi de la sorte… J'aurais souhaité voir l'inverse se produire en fait. Que Kei ne cherche pas à transformer Nozomi mais que Nozomi arrive à le rendre moins sadique. Déjà que c'est la petite soeur de l'un de ses meilleurs amis… mais si en plus il cherche à la faire « souffrir »… Je sais pas trop… On verra bien. L'auteur est tout de même plus dans le côté douceur, j'aurais donc peut-être une surprise.

Widząc na końcu słowo KONIEC nie sczaiłam że chodziło o dodatek i miałam takie wtf co z dalszą historią bohaterów? Na szczęście będzie kolejny tom bo to co w tym ukazała Pani Mizuno zrobiło plot twist (?). Ukazała z innej perspektywy historie co sprawiło że także inaczej ją odebrałam, chce już dorwać 8 tom bo akcja trzyma w lekkim napięciu
