A rehashing of the first few "Hunt for Jack Reacher stories plus a couple of others that were no better quality than some Fan Fiction stories that I've read in the past. I only started reading the book to see if the last two novellas were worth it. So far, I'm not very impressed by Diane Capri's writing. Why Lee Child gave her such a glowing endorsement is beyond me. Is he receiving royalties for all these other stories coming out by Diane Capri, Dan Ames, Jude Hardin, Scott Blade, and God know who else?

I am usually wary of books written about a character made popular by another author. Jack Reacher does not appear in this book. But it stans up well on its own. The main characters are fallible which makes them more interesting. They also slightly (only slightly) reminded me of Moulder and Scully of the X-files. Two FBI agents, one man that has been delegated to a has been and one sharp female.

The original Reacher series by Lee Child was fantastic. Credit Capri for creating a fan fiction sort of tangent series of books searching for Jack Reacher in the aftermath of the mayhem Reacher left behind. Despite that creativity, this book was not something I enjoyed much and the last short story totally unrelated to Jack Reacher was odious drivel. 2 stars.

Interesting twist. Capri takes Lee Childs' character and writes stories about FBI agents that are pursuing him but are always one step behind.
