Blood of Centaurs

Rate this book
Xandra is not a fan of the Sasquatch. Yet, she still must travel to the Centaur realm and help mediate peace talks between the two races of supernatural beings. Sounds simple enough. If it was someone else's life, that is. Nothing is ever simple in Xandra's life. Join Xandra and Kallen for their twelfth story in this novella packed with adventure and love.

Loves:

1. People who read my books.

2. My children. (Please don’t tell my kids I listed fans before them. You may cause a riot in my home. They’re pretty feisty kids.)

3. My cats and dogs when they’re not making me sniffle, sneeze, rub my eyes or irritating my asthma. (Scratch that, they always do and I love them anyway.)

4. Writing. (I would have listed this first, but it would have looked bad. Worse than putting fans before my kids.)

5. Good friends. (Fortunately, I have several.)

6. Quiet evenings at home in front of the fireplace reading a good book. (Please, like that’s going to happen with five kids in the house - but I can dream can’t I?)

7. I got stuck here so I asked a couple of friends to tell me their fondest memory of me. This is what I got:

Deb: It was when you used to babysit Michael and rode the horse in Meijer so he could ride with you. Also......my first trip to TX for a wedding. You were at my house and said you would put my clothes in the dryer when they were done. Needless to say, the next morning I had to pack wet clothes in my suitcase. The airline lost my luggage for 4 days so when I finally got it back, my clothes were all mildewed. (Okay, in my defense – I was twelve at the time. The sad thing is, I still forget to put clothes in the dryer.)

Michele: I have too many…but one of the first that popped in my head was how you drove all the way to Chicago to look at my apartment for me because I was too hung over, and then gave me all the details so I could pretend I was there. You are a good friend... (It was only a seven hour round trip. What are friends for?)

Joe: A particular Domino’s pizza delivery and you invited the delivery guy inside…(I’m going to stop there because my ex-husband thinks he’s funny.)

For obvious reasons, I didn’t ask anyone else.

Hates:

1. Puppies, kittens, babies, sunshine, peace on earth, goodwill, recycling, education, gifts, and sweets of any kind. (Really, I do.)

2. Being facetious. (I would never dream of it!)

3. People who don’t read my books. (Well, maybe not all of them. But, most of them.)

4. People who always manage to stop by the house when I look terrible. (You know who you are…)

5. Lumberjacks. (Don’t know why, just do.)

Now that you know everything about me, you should drop by my Facebook page to tell me all about you.

Another quick and fun book to pass the time, as these holidays are sure exhausting! :) I had a lot of fun reading more of Xandra's anctics. She is growing into her power more and more, while discovering new abilities (which may or may not cause more trouble for her). I like to see that she is connecting more with her fairy family, it is sweet. Also. Kallen. :) <3

Fantastic

Began with book one and haven't stopped. The stories and romance between Xandra and Kallen are wonderful. From book to book and realm to realm; with Fairies, Giants, Witches, Mermaids, Centaurs, a familiar, and a doppelganger. The stories slide hand in hand with some very tasteful romance and and a young lady getting to know herself and all she can do, and most important her soul mate. Great read.

It is always entertaining to read about Xandra's latest adventure and how she is learning to be more tactful in her dealings with other races but when that doesn't work, sheer force of will always wins out. Never a dull minute in this series and it is fun to read about the relationships she has formed with those she cares about.

So she has a new power which comes in handy when dealing with the centaurs and Sasquatchs. Xandra, Kallen, Dadga, and his wife, Xandra little brother, and Isla boy toy all go to try and broker a peace treaty between the two species. As usual someone has something sneaky up their sleeves, and it endangers the group, which pisses Dadga off. It was a pretty good read.

I absolutely loved it! I found myself wishing it was longer. I did feel that this book didn't have as much of Xandra's humor as the other books did. It felt a bit rushed. But that may be because I love reading about about these characters. I am really looking forward to the next one.

I really enjoyed this one! I feel that the love between Xandra and Kallen grow with each novel, and you really see their love for each other in this novel. This book is a novella so it's a really short read, but still enjoyable! <3

Another delightful hold-no-prisoner read. I still enjoy the books even though the plotline remains the same.

I recommend whole of the series for those who love urban fantasy, can't get enough of sarcastic characters and love the journey rather than outcome.
